Since I have absolutely nothing to do today (and it looks like rain outside...in California!) I played around and made a collage of my intended "bridal look"; my dress paired with hair and accessory ideas. I'm such a geek, but I think it looks great! What do you think? Any suggestions for me? Please, post your own!

LOVE IT!!!! I think that hair is gorgeous--looks a bit like mine for my wedding. And I also wore Stuart Weitzmans, they were quite comfy. Great idea for a thread and I think you''re right on with all your choices!

I love those shoes!!

I think it''ll be great. Is that the Anne Barge gown with the embroidered sash?

Woo hoo...LOVE it. If my hair could hold curl, I would have gone with something exactly like that. (My stylist and I agreed it would not have a chance at a beach wedding with wind blowing). it''s just such a fresh, romantic look.

Someone around here made a good point about shoes without any back reinforcement...something about almost falling over when her dress got caught under her feet? With an a-line dress, you may be fine, but I thought it was something to consider. Really like the shoes though!

Yay! Thank you so much. When I saw that hair picture, I knew it was it. My hair is the same color, roughly the same texture, and will be the same length come the wedding date. As of now, I can''t afford Stuart Weitzmans unless I find them on ebay, but I have all of my favorite styles on my "favorite searches". For backup, I''ve found a pair of knockoffs made by Nina.

Thanks! Aren''t they beautiful? They''re only around $300!

The dress and sash are by Amy Kuschel, a designer out of San Francisco.

But your updo is amazing! The little white flowers...perfectly romantic and very beachy. I chose the hairstyle I did because since my hair is a little wavy naturally, I figured it'd be a natural match. Plus, I think it fits the garden theme well.

I just hope my blue bouquet won't look too shocking against all of the silver and ivory.

Oh, it will be perfect for a garden wedding. Just dreamy!

EBree, I love everything!

Looks like it is all coming together. My only suggestion would be finding a show with an ankle strap if you are going to do any fancy ballroom dancing moves for your first dance. I wore my hair 1/2 up too though my hair is no where near as thick as in the picture you posted (similar color though). It was very comfortable.

Thanks, guys! I don't plan on doing any fancy dancing (FH and I are both horrible at it) so I think I'll be okay. I will look around for similar shoes with heel straps, just in case!

love those SW shoes! check zappos too.

Oooh it all goes together so well! I love it!

Thanks, everyone! I love the way it looks too. I''m planning on wearing my late grandmother''s pearls, so that''ll save me some money on accessories. If they''re in good enough condition (and not too warm), I''ll have them shortened so they fit closely around my neck.

Close back shoes (love those). Saw a bride trip when a hem got caught between her heel and her shoe.

Do they have to have an entirely closed back, or would a strap do?

Thanks, Dani! That''s right, we are almost date twins! Have you found your dress yet?

Ok- dont get me nervous now- but what have you done so far? We can keep eachother in check!! I have not gone dress shopping yet- I dont plan on going till the late fall...I am trying to lose the wt that I gained this yr while I was finishing up grad school! I just want to get back to my regular wt. minus the 20 lbs....I am halfway there!!!!

So far- we have booked the venue, the officiant, the band, and the photographer...still have to do the florist, the invites, possibly a videographer, and limo...but I figure I have time...Plus there are a million other details to take care of too.

Did you get your dress yet? I vaguely remember you posting that you did??!!

Well, you're ahead of me!

Right now, the only things we've booked are the ceremony/reception sites and my hair and makeup artist. I've chosen a photographer, a caterer, a florist, and a dress, but nothing's been finalized with those vendors yet (though I'm in regular contact with all of them, and they're just waiting for a deposit). We should be booking the photographer and the florist before the end of the month. I'll be ordering my dress and having a food tasting in December when I go to visit family. What else is there to book? Oh, the officiant- I'll be calling him next week to see if he or one of his colleagues has our date available. We'll order the invites around 7 months out. I'm so excited about all my vendors! My photographer takes incredible, magazine quality photos and my florist's prices are almost too good to be true.

Don't worry about dress shopping, you still have plenty of time (unless you're ordering haute couture). Let's definitely keep eachother in check...I find new things I've forgotten about all the time.

It all looks lovely! What dress have you picked out?

Why thank you! My dress is called "Maribel" by Amy Kuschel. It's made of ivory silk satin and the platinum sash has beaded lace sewn onto it. Amy only has drawings on her website, and the drawing in my original post is a sketch of the actual gown.

Whew! Then I am on schedule! I tend to be such a procrastinator.....

I also have to start looking for a hair/makeup person too...I am very picky, so I am sure that will be fun!!!!

When it comes to my dress, I wish I can order haute couture, but I dont think so!! lol In any event- 10 months should be plenty of time for most designers, dont you think? Which dress did you pick?

I am excited for my vendors too..unfortunately though, I have to go with one of the "house" florists- my venue requires it..so guess what- that mean flowers are going to be a TON of $$$!! Eeek!!! I have to start getting estimates....

You''re definitely on track! As for florists, I was having serious sticker shock. Perhaps if you keep it simple (only callas and roses or something) the price won''t be as high as say, for peonies in September.

The total cost for my bouquet, 9 centerpieces, 3 bouts and 2 corsages (made with dahlias, hydrangea, lisianthus, and delphinium) is under $500. I couldn''t believe it! So excited.

What colors are you using? That is my biggest problem right now- I can''t decide!

We''re doing blue(s) and ivory. I want it to have a casual yet elegant feel. Here''s the look and feel I''m going for:

I really have no idea....if I had my choice, I would have had a spring wedding- just prefer lighter color schemes and the really warm weather. But with my FI''s grad school schedule, he just couldnt do it till next fall...

But I do like fall too- I am just having a hard time deciding....what do you think of chocolate brown, ivory, cream, and pink? I like chocolate and pink together, but then I think, "is it too trendy?" Maybe I should just do brown with fall-like flowers in fallish colors? Also, what pink flowers will be available in the fall? I guess I have to talk to a florist...

Have the colors you want! September is *technically* fall, but the very, very beginning (in Texas, it doesn''t feel like it) so we can get away with most anything.

Beautiful! Back strap or no...love those SW shoes, and the cascading bridal hair!!

Well, you know I am the master of indecision! I can''t decide on anything to save my life! I will keep you posted though!
