Broken post on Platinum studs..

I just dropped them off at the jeweler. The posts were .03...They only had one thickness up... .04 I don’t know what I was expecting but thought at least two sizes up. Oh well..They suggested Protecktor backs. I said okay..At one point I’m going to have David make me new six prong settings..but not for a few years. Thanks everyone! <3

Good point! I think you will notice a difference in .04. Did you get a chance to see and compare? Also, are Protektor backs different from La Pousette? I thought they were the same?

@meesmom I wasn’t able to compare. I asked if the push backs had a thicker post. She said they were the same .03 and .04. I think the Protecktor and La Pousette are the same..Maybe they’re a different company? I’m not sure. I prefer a pushback but really think these will be safer. I also put on my plastic disks which not only keeps them straight..but also keeps it snug to my earlobe. I noticed my last batch had a bigger hole. I prefer when they’re smaller so they’re tight.

I know, for me too safer is better!! I gotta do something with mine, they are pretty secure with the silicone plugs i put behind the screw, but they sometimes tighten themselves up while im sleeping (its just too much trouble to take out screws everyday) and i think my lobe is actually getting thinner from the pressure. Besides that, it hurts!! I was all set to get la Pousette backs, but i heard its not a great idea to wear them in the shower (i do this too, i know, im bad )

I heard the spring inside can be affected if they are wetted too often and arent properly dried. Im sure cleaning is fine, but showering prob. not so much.
