Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

DD, that does NOT sound pleasant!!

Charger, he''s gorgeous, congratulations my dear!

Charger- congrats!! hes adorable!!

DD~ That sounds terrible. I hope your poor tummy doesn''t get all bruised up. Seeing the beautiful belly is so wonderful.

DD, ouch! Those shots sounds tough but I''m glad there''s a solution to get you through this pregnancy with a healthy baby and momma at the end!

So my shower was yesterday. I was REALLY stressed out because I''m not so good at the whole center of attention thing. It went really well though. My girlfriend planned it and she did an AMAZING job. The only downside of the whole day is that it was a SAUNA at the IL''s house. I don''t know if something is wrong with their A/C or if it was the fact that MIL had basically been running the oven since the night before. According to the thermostat, it was 84 in there by the end of the day. That was a bit embarrassing but I walked away with no swelling which was good. My mother of course showed up with what I''ll call the "motherload". This is her thing. She has to give tons of gifts at parties/showers. At SIL''s shower she filled an entire clothes hamper with little individually wrapped gifts. Yesterday, she just interspersed her gifts throughout the pile so like every 3rd gift was from her.
3.gif
She also insists on getting a picture of you with all of HER presents which is annoying because she''s not so good with the camera. Imagine - awkward smile holding up booties for a solid minute.
9.gif

In the end, it was awesome to see everyone in one place. We had some great food and laughs and Nolan is all set! It felt good to know that we have everything we need but it is kind of weird to have a house full of baby things! I don''t know where we''re going to keep everything. A 10x10 nursery doesn''t hold much.

If I can get my hands on some pics, I''ll definitely share. The decorating was so cute!

I only have a minute before I have to get to bed, but just a quick note from me (and I'll catch up more tomorrow!)

First of all, Charger, Nico is sooooo precious. That precious little guy makes me so excited for ours to come. Congratulations again

Icekid, very cute belly woman. You are tiny!! How are you feeling??

Icekid, what time zone are you in? It''s practically still light out and you''re off to bed!

I'm very late but woohoo for 1000 pages! That's awesome!

ChargerGrrl, congrats again! Nico is adorable!

sbde, any update? can't believe you're already halfway there! I'm thinking boy!

Diva, wow, you're such a trooper for giving yourself DAILY injections! I hope the needle is small. I've been getting weekly IM injections in the hip area. The needle is 1.5 inches long. DH gives them to me. I could NEVER give them to myself! I have sort of gotten over my fear of needles though. I load them myself. I hope you have a smooth pregnancy.

Everyone looks great! Love all the belly pics!

Welcome to all the newly pregnant women who joined this thread recently!

I know I have been MIA for while. Around 22 weeks, my contractions started to pick up and become more noticeable and frequent (sometimes every few mins!). In addition to the progesterone shots, I'm talking nifedipine (again). At first it made me feel really tired and out of it - dizzy, nauseous, headaches so I didn't feel like doing anything. Thankfully I'm feeling a bit better. Since 22 weeks, I've had weekly appointments so it's been keeping me busy. Last week I started working part-time so hopefully that helps.

Here's a belly picture from today - 24w5d. I'm starting to feel big and sometimes I forget my belly is there and it gets in the way.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Snlee, you look great!

-----------------------------------------------------------

soooooooooo, we had our u/s last week, and MAN was i in for a surprise....we have officially joined TEAM PINK !

i was SO sure i was having a boy, because my pregnancy has been SO similar to my last one thus far, that i figured i would just be getting it confirmed at the u/s.

well, the u/s tech and the dr. both said it was a girl independently, so i guess there's not much doubt left, we are expecting a little girl!!
30.gif

i'm beyond thrilled of course, because it'll be nice to have a boy and a girl and bought my first little pink sweater this weekend. the rest of the u/s went v well, baby is measuring on track and everything seemed to be in order.

so, noelwr, snlee - we were wrong, but thanks for playing!

and puppmom - you were the only one who was right!

icekid - for me the arms reach was a good investment - i have both that and a pack n play (i kept the cosleeper in my room, pnp downstairs for baby's daytime naps so i'd always be nearby) and would recommend it to anyone who was considering it. the baby can't actually sleep in once they're able to sit up by themselves because it's just not safe anymore but it later served as a makeshift change table and now works as a playpen for us in our room. cute belly btw!

snlee - you look great!

Congrats SBDE!!!!

Congratulations Charger! Great pics!

Icekid - did you say you will find out the sex on the 9th? mine is scheduled for the 10th. I can''t believe you''re 17 weeks. I was twice as big as you already when we were TTC. you must still fit into your pants.

anyway, here is my humungoid belly at 15w2d.

Charger, congrats on your son - he''s just breathtaking!

Thanks so much to all of you who sent dust for my close family friend C. I went in on Saturday afternoon to shoot some maternity photos for her (we hadn''t gotten them yet as we had planned to do them yesterday), and it''s a good thing we got them then. Her BP remained high and her headache continued to worsen. We left at about 5:30, and they decide to begin inducing her about 6 hours later on Saturday night.

Her labor progressed slowly overnight, and she was about 2cm dilated around 3pm when they broke her water. She delivered Baby L at 12:04 a.m. this morning, and mom and baby are doing well. Since he delivered at only 33.5 weeks, he''s in the NICU, but he''s doing amazingly well and they expect he''ll be able to transfer to a more local hospital within a few days.

Thanks again for all the kind thoughts.

Baby L weighed in at 4 lbs., 6 oz and 17" long. Here''s his foot in Daddy''s hand.

Alison, thanks for the update. I''m so glad baby L is doing well! What cute little feets!

Allison, so glad to hear things went well for your friend!

Alj, so glad your friend and her baby are doing well. Your photos are gorgeous as usual! That teeny foot is so precious!

Hi everyone
35.gif
I''m finally feeling brave enough to join the big girl thread for a 2nd time! We had our NT scan today and everything looks GREAT. Right now it''s looking like team PINK! I can''t wait until August to find out for sure!! So far this pregnancy has been SO different than my 1st. Absolutely no m/s and just not a lot of symptoms in general. I hope it continues to be this easy
4.gif

I wish I had a scanner to upload a u/s pic, but I don''t! We got some great shots too.

I figured I''d post my 1st belly shot instead
9.gif
Everyone''s little bumps look so cute!!

Here I am today at 12w5d....due date 01-06-11.

Charger, your son is ADORABLE! Congratulations!

SBDE, congrats on TEAM PINK!!! How exciting!

icekid, you're teeny tiny still! I bet you haven't even gained hardly any weight...I'm so jealous!

snlee, you look great!

puppmom, yay for a fun shower! Sounds like it went well except for the overly warm house.

cdt, congrats on the good NT scan!

Lanie, thinking of you.

I feel so huge compared to the other early 2nd tri girls. I have a very noticeable baby bump. Someone thought I was 22 weeks the other day, and asked me whether it was a boy or girl. I said I'm only 16 weeks and she was shocked!

Ok, now I have time for a longer post!

Kaleigh- I am still nauseous! Sheesh. It does continue to get better slowly but surely, though. Someday it will be gone, hopefully long before the birth. Otherwise I am feeling pretty well overall.

puppmom- HAHA, I get up at 5 AM everyday so bedtime for me most days is well before 10 pm. I am ultracool and hip like that. Sounds like your shower went well! I hate being the center of attention too when it comes to gifts and such. It just feels awkward!

snlee- You look fabulous! So cute. Sorry to hear that the preterm labor is giving you trouble already, but glad that your docs are certainly on the case.

sbde- Congratulations on team pink!! That is so exciting
36.gif
36.gif
Any thoughts on names yet? Hmm, definitely have some more thinking to do about the Arms Reach.

noelwr- Yep, the 9th is our big day. Super impatient for it to get here, but we''re already under two weeks for both of us
36.gif
You look great, by the way. I looooove your dress. And I CAN still wear my regular pants, but they are not the most comfortable ever. I usually wear scrubs at work, which helps though.

Allison- Thanks for the update on your friend and little L. The photos are beautiful! You are so sweet to take them for her. That foot... aww
30.gif

cdt- Aww, I am so jealous that you got a sex guess at your NT. Our tech was nooooo fun and said it was too early. Oh well. Glad this pregnancy is going so easily for you. Your tiny belly is adorable
9.gif

laila- aww, you are not huge. Just cute and pregnant! I am sure my body will catch up soon enough anyway. At only 5''1", this baby is not going to have anywhere to go but OUT soon enough.

Lanie- hugs, and tons of thoughts to you.

----------------------------------------------

Well, hubby and I got into early nesting mode over the weekend. My work schedule this summer is going to be super busy (ICU
14.gif
cardiac and tons of call) , so basically getting things together (converting office to nursery!) needs to happen asap. So we started moving everything out and cleaning. Ordered the crib!
30.gif
We went with a mid-level baby cache crib and were planning to just get a non-matching ikea dresser. But the matching dresser would really only be a couple hundred more, so maybe worth it. Hmm. We are lucky and hubby''s mom is buying the crib as a gift to the baby. Our families have been really generous, which is so sweet and I am grateful.

charger, Nico is just a DOLL. he looks beautiful and wow so alert in that ''going home'' pic...!! congrats momma!

hope lanie is doing ok.

Aww, totally cute tiny bellies, ladies!!

I''ve been having contractions most of the day. They are consistently 15 minutes apart and don''t really hurt too much, more uncomfortable. However, I''ve also had a back ache and nausea so it''s different than my "normal" BH. I did see the doc this am. My doc is on vacay for a few days and I saw one of the other docs in the practice. She spent a long time listening to Lily''s heart and seems to think that she''s tolerating the contractions well so we aren''t doing anything at this point. I just wish the contractions would go away or hurry up!

That''s all for now. I can''t really stay focused on much.

Hope you''re all feeling well!

So I''m not much of a hypochondriac, and I''m not the type to call the doc for the slightest worry, but I''m having a little bit of a freak out this morning. I''m sure it''s unfounded but I need someone to talk some sense into me.

Since I''ve started feeling movement, Aidan has had a very regular schedule. If I lay in bed in the morning I can feel him, but usually I feel him at night and his activity level at night is high enough to make up for the lack of movement during the day. So yea, morning and night. I have an anterior placenta so I started feeling him later on than a lot of women do and I only feel him in specific areas of my abdomen-like my bladder for example. Usually even if I don''t get noticeable kicks I at least get pokes to my bladder to remind me he''s there.

Yesterday I felt him earlier in the day, like around lunch time for some reason, not his normal time. And then I felt nothing, nada, zip, zilch. Nothing last night, nothing during the night and nothing this morning. Now, my doc isn''t into doing kick counts. She said as long as I feel him two-three separate times during the day at a level strong enough to register that he''s there, then there''s nothing to worry about. Okay, so then yesterday and today have been abnormal by that guideline. I ate a blueberry muffin this morning with the hopes that the sugar would get him moving but so far no movement. I''m thinking of going out to get some OJ or the breakfast drink of champions-a coke, to see if a serious boost in sugar is needed.

But what do I do if that doesn''t get him going? When do I call the doc? Do I wait to see if he moves around lunch time? Maybe he''s got his schedule out of whack and did move in the night but I just didn''t feel it?

My LO doesn't have a set pattern for movements, but he basically moves all day long to a certain extent. If I haven't felt him in a little while I have something sugary and lay on my back, feel for the bump and then give him a little poke, or jiggle my belly, this is usually enough to piss him off and get him moving around. Right now I am sitting here with my laptop on my lap and listening to music and he is going crazy in there...maybe try some noise, music, poking, more sugar, or a jiggle to the belly?

ETA: He seems to really like Lady Gaga!

HH - i'm a strong believer in a mother's instinct, and so is my OB. she always said to call if i ever had any concerns about fetal movement, and i make sure to do so. YOU know your baby best, and if something is out of the ordinary, it may be nothing but it may just warrant a second look.

i would drink the coke/juice and wait about 10-15 minutes to see if you feel anything, otherwise i would call. if nothing else, it will put your mind at ease.

please check back in and let us know how you're feeling.

Ditto...but I am also of the worry wart type so I seriously worry about fetal movement daily, and sometimes more than once a day!

Thanks ladies, I''m drinking a coke to see if that gets him moving. Unfortunately poking, shaking, etc does nothing for the little one. I think that''s where the placenta comes into play. I''m not really poking the baby, just the placenta. So I''ll see how the coke works and give the doc a call if there''s an issue. I just feel like a worry wart because I just had an apt last week and an u/s and everything was totally fine and normal.

HH~ Sorry you''re going through this. I don''t think you''re being a worry wart. If something doesn''t feel right, call your doctor. Aidan may just be getting into a different position and you''re not feeling him in the same areas, but I''d still call if your coke doesn''t rouse him. Good luck and please keep us posted.

My BH finally went away after more than 12 hours yesterday. I''m kind of relieved and kind of disappointed. I never went into labor naturally with JT so I really don''t know what to expect if it just happens.
