Well ladies, I've got news. Got my results for the NT scan and the gender test.....Trisomy 21 risk went from 1:788 before testing to 1:>10,000, and trisomy 13/18 risk went from 1:1422 before testing to 1:>10,000 as well!! And.....drumroll please......
We are on TEAM PINK!!!
We are beyond excited...DH was hoping for a girl. I must admit that I think I was hoping for a girl too. Of course we would have been thrilled with a healthy baby of either sex, but we are just so excited. It's funny, I've thought it was a girl the whole time....from very early on. Mother's intuition, I guess? Also means that the Chinese Gender Predictor was correct for us!!

HH, that sounds very scary! My thought is that it was probably a hypoglycemic episode, but I don't think it means you're developing diabetes, and I don't think they need to repeat your GD test (but definitely bring this up with your Dr and see what he/she says). RE: what you have read about hypoglycemia being related to diabetes, here's the deal: when hypoglycemic episodes occur in diabetics, it's almost always due to too much insulin in combination with not enough food (for example, a diabetic person has a stomach bug and isn't eating much at all that day due to discomfort, but continues to give him/herself their full doses of insulin, resulting in a drop in blood sugar). Diabetics who DON'T take insulin are way more likely to have blood sugars that are too high than they are to have blood sugars that are too low. So in your case, as a woman who passed her GD test and is not taking insulin, I feel confident saying that what you had was a pregnancy-related hypoglycemic episode, which is very common. Best way to treat/prevent these (as you already know) is frequent small meals/snacks to keep your blood sugar steady. I have trouble with hypoglycemia too, and I've found that making sure all of my snacks include some healthy carbs (fruit, whole grains) and a good bit of PROTEIN (most important) keeps my blood sugar the steadiest. I have pretty much stopped eating big meals, I just eat balanced small meals/snacks about 6 or 7 times a day, and I have felt SO much better doing this.
I hope you feel better...sorry it was such bad timing! No one wants to pass out on the interstate!!
