Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Yay Hou!!!!! Congrats on baby Eleanor! :appl:

CONGRATS HOU!!! Wow she was EXACTLY your size! How cute.

LV cant wait to hear all about it!!!

HMG, Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures!

To everyone else, hello there! :wavey: I think I'm finally ready to move to this thread (although I have been reading for a while...) I am expecting my first baby, and currently I'm 13 weeks and change. I've been dealing with hyperemesis for about 9 weeks, but (fingers crossed) it seems to be tapering off slowly but surely. I may start a Zofran fan club, because it's my bestie.

I have a few questions for you guys. First, when did you start showing? I've lost 10 percent of my body weight but I feel like the bump is trying to make its debut in spite of that. At first I thought I was imagining it but it's getting harder to deny... Second, any tips for good pregnancy workout videos? I am typically a runner but have been sidelined by the nausea/vomiting and I'm hesitant to start it up again 2 months later and worry about heart rate extremes and whatnot. I'm planning on swimming and doing prenatal yoga, but would also love to have some home options since winter has been a bear this year...

Hi Moxie.Moo, so good to see you in this thread; welcome and glad you joined us in this thread!!! I hope your hyperemesis goes away soon! Happy 13 weeks. I just have been walking; I know there are prenatal dvd's (my sis let me borrow hers but I never tried it). Maybe others will chime in. Not sure when singleton moms start showing exactly. Yay for a little bump!

moxie.moo- Swimming has been a godsend for me! I've been doing it for physical therapy and it is amazing! I do a lot of hip rotations which will feel SOOOO good when you get to about 20-23 weeks because that is when your hips start separating (at least mine did). I also do some other really good stretches that I could write up for you if you are interested...LOVE IT!  Also I started showing at around 18 weeks, hope this helps!

Hey Moxie, everybody carries differently, but it is not unheard of to start showing at 13 weeks, especially if you are slimmer or have a small build or, heck, just carry that way. With my first I did not really show until I was close to 30 weeks, prior I just looked thick and fat in the middle. This time I have about the same belly I had at 25 weeks now at 15 weeks! Crazy. I hear you on the running, too. I fell off the wagon about 4 months ago and can't get on it again. Walking is my excercise now, and I might try swimming too.

Hi Moxie and welcome. :wavey: Congrats on 13 weeks! I had a small bump that was visible without clothes at 14 weeks. With my first, I was able to conceal the bump with careful clothing choices until about 20 weeks, when we decided to tell people. I am 5'10", so I have a longer torso to conceal the bump. I mostly looked like I was getting a bit thick through the middle until I switched to mat clothes. I'm around 18 weeks now with my 2nd, and it is getting hard to hide. I look like I ate way too much over the holidays, so it will be nice to tell people I am PG and not just fat. ;))

Skippy :) how you going with your twinkies :)

Kay that colour sounds right up my alley - DH has vetoed all the blues LOL we will get there in the end - glad your feeling better :)

Moxie Welcome and congrats on 13wks :) good to see new mumma's coming along here :) - I hope your sickness goes away soon that sounds awful.

It is hard for me to define when I started showing as I went through a stage for the longest time of looking like I ate 400 cheeseburgers in one sitting - I bloated badly and my boobs exploded about 4 wks (they have since shrunk back a little YAY) but I still fit into my jeans until around 25wks - after this I could only zip them up half way about 26ish weeks I finally stopped looking like I ate to many cheeseburgers and actually started to look pregnant. I am also not thin so I feel like I went through a very dumpy stage up until I finished the second tri. My friend had a tiny little fart belly (looks like you could let one go and it would disappear) around 13wks but I would not say she started showing till much later probably along the same timelines as I did - she also lost a fair bit of weight from morning sickness. Like Dreamer said depending on height/weight/how you carry etc can influence how and when you show :). At 13 weeks I would imagine you would start possibly noticing something but most others probably would not.

Workout DVD's my doctor recommended Preggi Bellies http://www.preggibellies.com.au/home.php mind you I had every intention of doing this but I kept forgetting to get a fit ball and ordering the DVD - so I just make sure to walk at least 30-40 minutes a day.

__________________________________________________________

Can I ask for some dust it is most likely nothing but DH had to have a CT scan today - he has been having some problems with an infection/growth in near his tonsil for a while - initially they thought the cause was his wisdom teeth being impacted he had these removed years ago and while it improved it never fully went away - he keeps getting sick - like colds because of it. He went to the doctors who didn't believe him until he showed him and the doc said he had never seen anything like it before and ordered an ultrasound - he did that today however they could not find anything hence the CT scan.

We are sure it is nothing but I can't help but worrying he gets his results on Monday and I am just hoping it is nothing major and something easily treatable so any dust for a good result will be much appreciated.

Hope you ladies are all well

DEELIGHT, sending lots and lots of dust/prayers to your hubby and hugs to you momma! Keep us posted on your hubby. :halo:
I am jealous your jeans fit you so long; I have been in preggo jeans since week 11. I think in a few weeks I might need to move to a bigger size? I just hate constricting clothes while preggo; maybe I will live in sweats forever. ;)) I gained 9 lbs 18 weeks so far but I guess I am short and my belly popped out?

Hi, RT, KAY and Dreamer! :wavey:

Thanks Skippy I am trying not to worry but I find it hard - I keep telling hubby he can't worry (and he isn't) cause that is my job and I am better at it :P.

I think the reason my jeans fit me so long was due to how I popped - I did not have the cute round belly (so envious of the ladies that did) I had what I have heard others call the B belly - I have always been thinner in the middle with a pouch on top and pouch on bottom (URGH) if that makes sense once baby started pushing out in the middle they stopped fitting. Now at 33wks I almost have a D shaped belly :D FINALLY :D:D:D

If you don't like constricting pants I have to say these are the most COMFORTABLE pants I have ever worn and they are really very flattering http://www.bumpbabyandbeyond.com.au/shop/basics-classic-black-navy-maternity-pant-p-920.html they should see you through a good chunk if not all your pregnancy - I checked and they ship to the states ($14 for first item and $4 for each item there after) they look gross in the picture but I read the description and took a chance - they fit fantastically and are really flattering - the customer service is also really good I got pretty well all my clothes there.

The seam sits underneath your belly and the elastic stretchy band comes up fairly high at 26-27ish weeks they came near the top of my belly and have since dropped slightly as my belly gets bigger - I never thought I would say this but an elasticated waist is so comfortable and definitely non constricting - I am tall though about 5'10 and am long in the leg and the body so you might need to get the legs taken up slightly - I also have problems finding pants as I have chunky thighs and a small top and these were perfect.

I also got a belly belt expander but have not used it - as it is too hot to wear my jeans but before that I used a hair tie to hold my zip up to my button when I could still button up but felt more comfortable with the extra centimetre or so.

I also think these tops look really nice with these pants

http://www.bumpbabyandbeyond.com.au/shop/ripe-spring-flower-maternity-p-1592.html You need to wear a singlet or cami underneath as it is see through - it makes my bump look bigger but in a good way and it is really comfortable

http://www.bumpbabyandbeyond.com.au/shop/ninth-moon-short-sleeve-black-p-1538.html I have this one in red and again really comfortable and it can be used for breastfeeding later - makes me actually look smaller and is really flattering :)

Also long empire line dresses even non maternity ones are so comfy

Now that I have written a novel I will stop :P but I think to a certain extent it is hard to find mat clothes that are comfortable and flattering and most importantly reasonably priced - GL hun :)

Hou! I'm so glad Ellie is here. Congratulations! I can't wait to hear more and see you on the *other side*.

LV, I sure do hope you're enjoying Samantha right now! I can't wait to welcome all of the teeny tiny babies to the newborn thread!

I am so excited, DH got to feel the baby move the other day, and every day since then! He loves to lay down with me and just hold my belly. ::)

It's really cute!

Bliss and LV, I hope that all is well and you are holding your little ones!!!! Can't wait for updates and pics

deelight, dust for your hubby and you and hoping all is fine.

hope everyone has a great weekend!! where's all the belly pics? i am lame, i haven't taken one in weeks.

PUFFY we need a pic. hehe :))

TUCKINS, that is so awesome your hubby felt the kicking!!! :))

DEELIGHT, sending good dust yours and hubby's way. Thanks for the pants and shirt info; I have some sort of similar pants for home and they are soooo comfy! Maybe I just need to start wearing pants instead of jeans so I am comfy. I had to laugh when i got my jeans they were so big they were falling off; I would be pulling them up (but the were comfy that way, lol). I am 5 '4.5; I would love to be 5/10! Oh and your description of the fart belly made me giggle! hehe

LV and HOU, hugs mommas; I bet you are so in Love!!! awwww, you must be over the moon

Hi Preggos how is everyone doing? I hope everyone has a Wonderful Weekend!!!!! Here is my pic, I probably won't do these every week but i will try to wear the same outfit and do one once in awhile. Take care :wavey:

Hey ladies!

Congrats to HOU I can't wait to hear more and see some pictures!

LV I bet you are holding your daughter now, can't wait to hear an update!

Skippy great belly! You look so small for 18w with twins! You look great.

***
AFM I am 15 weeks today and feel great about that! Had an appointment yesterday and heard the babies HB again, which was wonderful. The midwife was feeling for my fundus and noted it was basically at my belly button, which is pretty high for 15 weeks. She jokingly said, "You had a scan, right? We know there are not two in here?" haha. Since then DH has been wondering if the second was "hiding" behind the first in the scan. I hope he is wrong ;)) but we will find out in a few weeks at the anatomy scan! Twins are wonderful, but I admit that my head spins around and pops off at thought of having two babies AND a toddler running around too! :errrr: hahaha! We already have moments of sheer panic at the notion of trying to look after a newborn and manage our wild animal of a two year old at the same time.

Dreamer, thanks!!! I think it is dark colors hiding my belly; you are so kind (you made my weekend). :halo: Oh wow; well if you aren't wanting twins I will cross my fingers that you get what you want. Keep us posted! toes crossed too!

Heck, twins would be great of course, I would never knock the blessing of another child, but I just can't imagine it on top of a toddler!!

I completely understand where you are coming from! I do.

Dreamer, I'm a twin (sisters) and I have a brother that's 15 months older than we are. When I was growing up all the moms kept saying to me, "God bless your mother," whenever I tell them the age difference between us. I never got it until now... LOL!

Deelight, sending dust for your husband that they find something easy to treat so he stops getting sick. I stayed in my jeans for a long time too, but I think it was because they were low rise and my belly just popped over the top (covered by a long shirt) and pushed the waistband down a bit.

Tuckins, that is so cute that DH wants to hold your belly.

Skippy, what a cute little belly you have! You’re not much bigger than I am and I only have 1 in there.

Dreamer, yay for 15 weeks! I can’t imagine twins on top of a 2 year old either! I thought twins would be so cool with my first pregnancy, but I couldn’t handle it now. On the days when A is especially crazy and running DH and I ragged, I start to wonder what the heck we have gotten ourselves into having a second child. I miss the relatively peaceful days of my first pregnancy, when I could come home from work, have a nice dinner, and go to bed as early as I wanted. Sigh. Now I have to fight to get my DD into bed by 10 pm so I can sleep!

Are the current toddler mommies buying new cribs for your new babies, or will you try to switch your toddler to a new bed and re-use his or her crib?

Skippy -- you look FABO. And you're pretty much halfway there! With twins no less.

Congrats HOU!!
Skippy, you look ADORABLE!!!!!!!!

Here are my two BPF's, one belly, one covered.

LC- I am an identical twin and we have a brother that is 15 months younger than us! haha We got the same reaction growing up, although most people thought we were triplets. I just had to thread jack because in all my life you are the first person that I have ever had that in common with. ;)) My mom says to this day that people would always comment on her having three in diapers etc. and she never for one minute stopped and thought she had her hands full and everything just worked smoothly all the time. It must have been that we were such good kids hehe  :saint: . Just goes to show it can be done! :cheeky:

skippy, you look wonderful!!!

princess, adorable little bump!

kay, with my second, we did not buy another crib because B was already in his big boy bed so N got B's old crib. but with the third, we are going to buy another crib. we actually already bought it, just waiting for them to deliver it. also with N, we got a new dresser for him and with this one, we are also getting all new furniture.

Samantha's here!! She was born at 8:06 this (Friday) morning, after a particularly long induction that began on Weds night and ended after 3.5 hours of pushing! She weighs 9 lbs, 9.5 oz and is 22 inches long. She's a big girl, very alert and absolutely gorgeous.

Labor was long and overwhelming. We are so happy she is finally here!!
