Just a quick pop-in to say that Tessa is a cutie-pie! what a precious little girl.

Both pics are cute, but #1 is it!

Thanks CG! #1 it is then.

Tacori, that''s such a bummer about your friend finding out the gender like that! Question for you: how often does Tessa see the doctor now? I can''t imagine BFing two babies either to be honest, but ... I guess I''m up for the challenge (she says naively)!

TGal and Jas, you must look so cute with your little baby bumps! Enjoy this phase when you still feel cute, ladies

Appt. went fine yesterday. The babies are so squashed in there that the u/s dr. had a really hard time getting measurements so he told us to basically not believe the weights he was giving us because they could be totally off (they get the most accurate measurements when the head and abdomen look nice and round, and b/c Gabe''s head is down SO low they can''t really get good measurements, and his sister keeps squishing his belly too!). I''ve never had this doctor before, and he was definitely NOT my favorite! He was rougher than he needed to be and kept going on and on about how difficult the babies were to measure, and I was really uncomfortable (physically) the entire time. Anyhow, according to his not-at-all accurate measurements, Gabriel is about 5 1/2 lbs. and Katelyn is about 4 1/2 -- but that would mean that G has put on a full lb. since last week, which I really doubt happened. So we''re sort of averaging last week''s and this week''s guesstimates and figuring them to be a little over 5 lbs and 4 lbs each, which I''m happy about. So given another two weeks in there, hopefully G will be at or over 6 lbs and she''ll be over 5, and I''d be more than happy with those weights! My cervix is still closed, BP is good, no protein in urine, and all that good stuff! So all in all, the appts were good, and I just need to suck up the discomfort I guess!

Ellaila
It sounds like you (and the twins) are doing great!

How''s the other new moms and MTB?

Ella, I would have been pissed too!

Re:BFing, just don''t be hard on yourself if it doesn''t work out or you have to supplement. Hopefully you are like me with enough milk for a village.

Tessa went to the doc''s at 1 week, 2 weeks, and then she will have a 1 month appointment (really 6 weeks though b/c they were booked). I think there might be a 2 month one too but I am not really sure if it continues to be monthly or not (I doubt it though with all the vacs they need...who knows). Last time we were there we saw triplets!

I cannot even imagine.

My mom was so funny and told me last night that though she loved my sister when she was born (she is the oldest) she didn''t like her very much at first. It took her first REAL smile and then of course my mom''s feelings changed. I think my whole family is worried about me since Tessa is starting to be a fussy baby. My dad said she is why there are only children. Also as she is getting older she looks almost exactly like I did as a baby. It is kind of freaky to look down and see a mini me.

Tacori-
Love the pet name "monster" for Tessa
2.gif

Anyway, looks like you got a clear winner with the 2 pictures already,
but I''ll still cast my vote for #1.

Ella-
Sorry your weekly appt with the rough doctor wasn''t pleasant.
Hopefully, you won''t get him again next week.
Glad to hear that your bebes are gaining the necessary weight though.
Wow, 2 more weeks and we get to meet Gabe and Katelyn.
Hope you post the pictures of them shortly after L&D before I go on vacation for 12 days -- w/o a computer
32.gif

MrsS-
Enjoy shopping for your little boy.
My sister got some really cute outfits for her little one at a place called The Children''s Place.
They carry some of the cutest little boy''s outfits.

TGal-
What accident? I hope everything is okay.
Ah, I saw your thread for the bezel earrings. So when will we get to see them on your ears?

Chrono-
Happy belated b-day to Baby Chrono!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes to Baby C! I''m having problems with the digicam memory card so I can''t post any pictures until that''s sorted out. Sorry...

Hi all! Busy here trying to get house ready for the holidays...and we moved Jake into his newly remodeled bedroom with big boy bed! He''s doing great so far! *knock wood* he''s spent 2 peaceful nights up there!

Tacori: Both Jake & Delaney slept by 8 weeks (8hours) Jake was breastfed still at that point, Delaney wasn''t...but, I remember about week 7 walking around zombie like thinking " I need sleep". I turned over a lot of chores to other people.

Safeway delivered my groceries
Housecleaners clean my home
12 frozen GOOD meals from the Dinners Done Right (any dinner prep joint will do & they all offer put together service for a little extra)
Stepmom did my laundry
Granpa & DH were on Jake duty

You have to line up help....utilize any resource you can find out there. Even if its just grocery delivery etc. And I napped like mad with Delaney & it made it sooooo much easier. I was a wreck if I didn''t nap.

I have to say at about 5 weeks I turned a corner this time (once she would sleep 4 or 5 hours at a time) and was out and about almost like my normal self. It took longer my first time because I was a new mom, totally overwhelmed, and having such a hard time nursing. I was about 10wks pp with Jake, maybe 12 before life settled into a groove. It''ll happen.

Also, make a point to take a shower everyday. Even if you got zero sleep & feel like crud, no one feels worse after a hot shower with shampoo & blowdry. If you make a goal time to get that done (say by 10am or noon) and make that the one thing you do for yourself each day, life will right itself sooner.

I often feel guilty because I have DH watch the kids for one full day a week while I go off on my own and have FUN. I don''t know why I feel guilty, like I''m worried he can''t handle it or something. Truth is, he''s fine with the kids. yeah there are two of them now, but they don''t eat me alive, so I have to make sure he''s "broken in" properly with them. If I can stay home all the time with them, he can handle a day or two here and there.

Make that a priority for yourself. Meet a girlfriend for coffee, get your hair cut, get a manicure, go shopping for some jeans in that in between size so you feel good in something. Go buy some xmas presents...just do SOMETHING that isn''t boring (groceries etc).

Enough of my lecturing!

And yes! That is the babygap leopard dress on her! But it was cold out, so I had brown leggings underneath it...got the cutest ones cheap at gymboree, with lettice edging on the ankles..soooo cute! Curly! Upload pics!

Here is a pic of Jake in his new room with big boy bed!!! (the walls are not true to shade in this pic...they are navy with khaki green). I don''t have his quilt that matches his PB Athletics shams on because I got him the PBKids Santa/Frosty/Xmas duvet for the holidays...LOL..I''m such a sucker.

P1020603.JPG

More room shots..still need to get knobs for his dresser & have his wood blinds recut to fit window (new casing/moldings)

P1020599.JPG

more room shots...

P1020600.JPG

we have a bunch of artwork picked out for his walls....and a vintage baseball clock....and pennants from our alma maters, etc. My stepmom got him an area rug..so its all coming together!

And here''s lil miss....ain''t she a cutie?

P1020613.JPG

Wow, Jakey sure got a big bed
1.gif
Plenty of room for him to move around in his sleep.
I love his room as well, especially that wooden door -- looks like it's an entrance to some secret world.

ETA: I must have posted before you were done with your posting.
Your lil miss is too cute. Love those cheeks
30.gif
30.gif
So pinch-able
3.gif

Lili, we try to make a joke out of her fussiness so we don''t get too stressed/upset about it. Last night she cried for 3.5 hours straight.
38.gif
So she can be our little monster. But right now she is quietly sleeping so she is our little angel. But wow can those moods change fast! She makes a face, gets BRIGHT red, and just screams. DH has a TON of nicknames for her. It''s pretty cute.

Diver, thanks for all the tips. It is hard b/c we have no local family and I don''t really want to impose on friends. I realized today I haven''t left the house since Saturday!
23.gif
DH will take her for a few hours here and there for me to nap. Plus I try to get in one nap with her. My SIL is coming tomorrow for the weekend to meet Tessa so that will be nice for me. I really need to start pumping & freezing but it is really uncomfortable to pump. Maybe I am doing it wrong
33.gif
I really hope my Tessa will be like your kids and start sleeping through the night around 8 weeks. Honestly I would be happy with 4 hours at a time. 2 hours (with 30 mins of nursing in between) is rough.

Delaney is such a cutie and I love Jake''s new room!

So DH was so cute today. He said that he knows he really wasn''t excited about my pregnancy (not that he wasn''t happy but just not into it) but he is so excited now that she is here and loves her so much. He even put up a photo of her in his office
30.gif

Diver, this is for you!!! LOVE that leopard dress! Lily wore it with brown tights but we have a bunch of those Gymbo leggings you mentioned. I went nuts there on Black Friday--everything was 30% off plus I had a 20% off coupon. The new cupcake cutie line is to die for!!! Delaney is such a doll and Jake's room looks awesome!!!

Tacori, we need more Tessa photos!!

The quick Lily update--she has a tooth and a second one on the way!!! Why is she growing up so fast?! She is an expert sitter, knows how to clap, eats like it's going out of style and LOVES the sound of her own voice!!! Lots of shrieking going on, I'm sure the neighbors think I'm beating her!

Hope all the preggos and new moms are doing well. She's on my lap now. More later!!

Stupid question here, but when do you consider a belly "a baby bump" and not fat?

I don''t count it as a baby bump until you can really tell someone is preggo and not just bloated. i popped early with this baby, my sister who is 15 weeks has only gained 2, yes 2 lbs and has maybe the slightest baby bump, but it really just looks like she ate a big lunch
3.gif

diver, LOVE jake''s room..i''m starting to get excited about having my own little guy to do the boy themed stuff and sweet delaney is just as precious as ever.

So, hubby finally felt the boy kick tonight. every time hubby has tried in the past the boy plays hide and seek with daddy and won''t move at all. tonight, he was having his own little party and I grabbed hubby''s hand and pow, he felt the hit or kick or headbutt or whatever it was. soooo cool!!!!

tacori, i pray tessa starts sleeping better for you. i had one great sleeper and one not so great and those disruptive sleep nights are so hard. i agree, even 4-5 hours straight would really help you a ton.

hope all you other mommies and mommies to be are doing well....

on and curly, adorable pic!!!

Just checking in to say hello, and I hope I''ll be able to join this thread as early as January! LOVE the pictures of all of your adorable babies.

Diver, Dalaney is so adorable! I love how her lashes curl out; she looks like a doll! I love seeing all these baby pictures
30.gif
Jake is so cute; great room!!!

Curly, baby Lily is adorable! I can't believe how big she is; she is such a cutie pie and looks very happy go lucky just like her momma
9.gif

Tacori/Diver/Curly: all the pics are adorable and so cute!! thanks for sharing and do put up more pics!!

I''m exhausted these days..my son who used to sleep thru the nite till morning has started to wake up every hour or 2 hours through out the nite...this teething process is really tough on him...i''m using Bonjela cream on his gums which really helps to ease the pain at times but its just so tiring..im hardly sleeping and i am at a loss on how to make this easier on him
7.gif

ALSO!!! i dropped his 1030 pm feed!!! his last feed/meal of the day is at 630 pm and thats it..wohoooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
36.gif

***sleep dust*** to Tacori & MSB!!

You poor things! that 2 hour jazz is HELLISH. Delaney did that in the beginning too....I never had that with Jake, he was 4 or 5 hours right out of the gate. But Delaney''s first month was an every 2-3 hour business at night & it physically hurts.

I totally forgot that one night I was feeding her in bed, and I had her on the boppy...I nodded off mid-feed and woke up who knows how long later to find her half-slid off the boppy and half on the bed and I started crying I was so terrified that something could have happened to her! I don''t know if I fell asleep and she slid out of my arms and then her head slid off the boppy and that woke us up, or if we both slept that like for some unknown amount of time. But I can''t believe that I was THAT tired that I fell asleep with her in my arms like that. I kicked myself for days after that and NEVER missed another afternoon nap again until she started sleeping about 4 or 5 hours. I even got nervous driving one day because I felt sorta drunk (I wasn''t, obviously) because I was so sleep deprived. I white knuckled it home that day & didn''t drive again for a week. LOL.

Let me tell you, once Tessa gives you 4 or 5 hours, you''ll feel brand new. I just remember praying to God one night (and I am NOT very religious) to please give me just 4 hours, if I could have 4 hours I''d be so grateful.

Well I have to check on monkey boy and see how he''s doing up there....make sure he''s under the covers and not hanging off the bed.

Oh
30.gif
those little leopard babies girls!! Curly, I love how Lily has that happy expression in the last few photos we''ve seen of her (there was one from the summer where she had on a big hat and that huge smile too!) -- such a love! And Diver, you know we love your little cuties
21.gif
And seriously, I think Jake''s bed is bigger than ours! Love the room -- you''ve got such great taste for decorating and picking colors!

Lili, you''ll know when you pop!! Before it happens, you think "Hmm, do I have a bump or no?" but once you do, you definitely see the difference.

In a way, I''m glad that we''re having the babies in December, so I won''t feel pressure to run around with them much (not supposed to take them out except for walks for the first 6-8 weeks acc. to pediatrician b/c of RSV season). I''ll be perfectly content staying inside with them in the cold winter months and getting in our afternoon naps!

So hubby is sick right now with a cold .... noooooooooO!!!!!! I canNOT get sick now, and I need him healthy to be able to handle the babies if they arrive early, so I''m ordering him on a strict diet of tons of OJ, chicken soup, echinacea, and zinc. Hopefully his cold will be gone before the babies arrive, but I pray pray pray that I don''t get sick too. Such bad timing
39.gif

A little photo collage of me at 35 weeks (yesterday). I said to Q the other day, "My face got fat, didn''t it?" and he paused for a sec and then said, "It''s full .... of life" -- haha
9.gif

ella_35weeks.jpg

See if I can make that a little bigger ...

ella_35weeks_bigger.jpg

Ella--For the record--your face does not look fat....and you are all belly so you''ll slim down in no time! Think of how light and small you''ll feel after Gabe and Kate are born ( i really like both those names together BTW!--hope you don''t mind that I''ve shortened them already but they are super cute!)
Are you excited that Dec. is around the corner and you''ll be in your Delivery Month?!!

TGal--i tried the ''blanket on the belly'' trick you mentioned and it is sooo entertaining--i giggled for a good 30 min. Doesn''t take much to entertain me these days apparently.

So tired and grumpy with my students this morning--had to shovel snow off my car and was late for work so the cold always makes me crusty--hate canadian winters. I find myself easily peeved while pregnant and have a low tolerance for anything slightly annoying--on the other hand my general disposition is sunnier than pre-preggo so it''s like a jekyll & hyde thing going on. Anyone else experiencing this?

OMG, Ella, you look so good!! Seriously, you are completely all belly!!! And I wouldnt worry about the babies weights at all....I bet you anything both of the kids will be overy 5 lbs each...you got *plenty* of baby in there!!! I am soo excited for you!!!! Keep up the good work, momma!!!
2.gif

Ella,
You look fantastic! I can''t believe you are carrying 2 babies in there.

(Knocking on wood)
Baby C slept for 6 hours straight 2 nights in a row. He hasn''t done this since around 2 to 4 months old. I wonder if it has anything to do with growth spurts or some other milestone? The thing is, I haven''t seen any obvious milestone. He''s getting more confident in standing unsupported and taking a few tettering steps.
