penn, when are you due again? I''m due in april and haven''t bought anything yet. The baby did receive some christmas gifts from my inlaws though. this is also my 3rd though and I don''t feel in as big of a rush, plus I already have much of what I need for a newborn. I think with my first though I started around 6 months or so, picking up little things here or there. I really didn''t want to buy too much though until after my showers. After those, I went a little crazy...i puffy heart baby gap.

With my first, I only started buying towards the end of the 3rd trimester. These were the large items like a pack N play, car seat, crib, etc. As for clothes, I received enough from the baby showers that the baby was well dressed for the first year of his life.

The twins are due May 17th, so we have a while. And Baby Gap is just the best. Ironically, I used to work at the Gap and I HATED working in Baby. But, I went in there the other day and they had a shirt that said "Captain Adorable." And other one that said "Ladies Man."

well, you still have a little way to go too, but I don''t think it''s too early to pick up a few little things here or there that really capture your heart. I would seriously wait though until after your shower if you have having one to buy a bunch of things. you''ll be surprised how much you''ll end up getting both on and off your registry. it sure doesn''t hurt to start grabbing a package of diapers now and then though, and with twins, you''re going to need a bunch....

Hi everyone! Found a second to sign on (we are still in Ohio). Hope everyone had a GREAT christmas. Tessa is doing great. She slept 7 of the 8 hour drive!!! It was so nice (well, we did wake her up to feed but she went right back to sleep). She is still spitting/vomiting but some feedings are less than others. She doesn''t seem to be bothered by it and both DH and I noticed she is putting on weight so I am sure she is fine. I am curious what her weight is now. Poor thing is still losing her hair but everyone tells us how beautiful she is. She smiles a lot more so MIL and FIL are just loving it. I am not sure if Tessa is cooing yet but she does make the cutest little noises. She is also so much more alert. I have lots of new pics I''ll post when I get home.

Take care mommies and mommies to be!!!

Tacori, that''s great that Tessa seems to be doing a bit better with feedings! Do you think she''s maybe just outgrowing whatever was bothering her?

Any cute Christmas photos, anyone?

Penn, I guess it depends on whether or not you''re superstitous about buying things before the babies arrive. I didn''t buy stuff for the twins until it got much closer to their due date b/c I just felt uncomfortable with it -- but that''s just me! I know that a lot of people don''t feel the same way. Given your situation (there''s a surrogate mom for the twins, yes?), will there even be a shower? I def. wouldn''t buy clothes now since a) you don''t know how big the babies will be and b) you will get a TON of clothes as gifts after the babies are born.

Uh oh ... crying baby boy ... gotta go!

Question: if you use formula, do you make it fresh each time, or do you make a big batch in the am and refrigerate it? Our formula (Similac Neosure powder) says to throw it out if not used w/in an hour but is there really any reason we couldnt keep it in the fridge for a day? We currently boil water, cool it, and then keep it in a pitcher and make new bottles each time -- kind of a PITA though!

Hey :)

I remembered that when we were in hospital, they had big jugs of formulas made up in the fridge, and the parents feeding formula to their babies will go and fill up their bottles, so I''ld imagine you can keep it in the fridge until you need to use it, as long as you chuck out any leftover formulas from the feed instead of reusing it by popping it back into the fridge.

Congrats to the new mums-to-be! I''m not here often, but I try and catch up on this thread as much as I can!

Have a Happy New Year!

xoxo

Hey guys

Hope the holidays are going well....
--my home office has been torn down to make way for the nursery so i have been without a comp. for the past 2 days (oh the horror
2.gif
) as I type DH is putting the last coat of paint on the trim in the office. We picked up the crib yesterday and got tons of baby stuff for xmas so i am anxious to start putting things together--there are piles growing all over the house. It''s not going to fit in the tiny room we have for baby--but at least it''ll be out of the way

Ella, Mrs. S, Chrono, Kaleigh--okay, so i am glad I am not the only one to feel humungous with 12 weeks to go (even if you are just saying so to make me feel better, hehe) Chrono, I am totally going to make DH pull up my pants, and socks and antyhing else--heck, if he could apply make-up in the morning I would take advantage of that too ...
Ella, I was out shopping this aft and met another preggie with boy/girl twins -she''s due the same week as me. She was of course much bigger and working on her feet--I don''t think i could do it--so I shut up with my whining (for a few hours)
I also parked in the expectant mom spot for the first time and i was both amused and amazed with this ''status''--i was totally thinking about how weird it will feel to one day be lugging around 30+ lbs and then *poof* (okay, so *poof* is wishful thinking) but having a big portion of that weight gone in a few short days--do you new moms feel light as a feather in comparison or does fatique just weigh you down in another way??

Tacori--glad you are having a great holiday--Tessa''s 7 hour sleep during an 8 hr drive is stellar! I am sure you and DH enjoyed some time to just sit and chat!

I need to do serious damage control in regards to holiday indulgence--i think i''ve had chocolate with every meal for the past week and a half!

Off to bed--hopefully i''ll start the day off with fruit instead of Toblerone

OMG, so many cute pix of the cutie pies.
I can't believe how fast they are all growing!

Diver-
D looks so mature for 3 months.

Curly-
I love Lily's infectious smile. She's such a happy baby.

Tacori-
Tessa is a happy baby too
5.gif
Love the new avi.

Ella-
OMG, those twins are too adorable for words.
I love the shot of them in Grandma's arm.
They look so comfy there.

Jade-
Your little button is such a handsome little guy.

Tell me about it.
I seriously need to go into diet mode after my 11-day binging vacation.
A preggo on a cruise is really not a pretty sight.
I''ve literally gained a pound a day, and I was practicing some self-control too.
I honestly am afraid to go in for my next weigh-in at my next check-up.
32.gif

Oh well, damages done.

hope all the mommies, mommies-to-be had a good holiday!!

Tessa: 7 out of 8 hours is wonderful news!!! hopefully she''ll carry that thru to the bedroom as well and sleep thru the nite as well..

JadeLeaves: ur son has grown so much (love the avatar)!!! i still remember the day when u were preggo and u then posted his pic when he was first born!!

Oh Lili--cruises are the worst for weight gain--preggo or not! (but ya, being pregnant adds a whole new dimension b/c you can be full one minute and ready to eat the next!)
That''s how i managed to gain 12 or so lbs in the first Tri--i was on my honeymoon--probably just 2 weeks preggo b/c we were gone for a month and DH could not believe how much I was eating on the cruise--normally i would just be careful for a couple of weeks afterward and it would disappear, but nope, the trend has just extended to, well, this morning hehe
3.gif

Where did you go on your cruise--wonderful way to spend the holidays!

Yes, it was a wonderful albiet dangerous way to spend the holiday
3.gif

I am surprised that you only gained 12 lbs from it
1.gif

Not only are the food readily accessible, they are high-caloried too.
All the dishes are so creamy and rich. And all those yummy desserts and pasteries
9.gif

You can easily take in 1000 extra calories a day. Yikes!
The little one was definitely enjoying the food though
3.gif

She was kicking up a storm at every meal.

It was a 11-day Ultimate Carribean cruise stopping at the following places: Grand Cayman, Aruba, Columbia, Panama, and Cozumel. Leaving and ending in Ft. Lauderdale, FA.
Ugh, that''s 11 days of non-stop eating. Definite belly growth during that time. I am definitely not looking forward to my next checkup.

Hey msb700!

Button is 15 months old now, can you believe it?? Time really do flies, he''s walking and talking lots now, so much more fun than when he was just eating/shitting/gurgling/sleeping
41.gif
but lots more work too!

I love seeing the pics of the new babies, keep them coming!

xoxo

Jade.

p/s: here''s button lugging one of my handbags around the house:

JL Button Dec 07.jpg

Jade, button is just a dollbaby...love the pic of him carrying your bbag!!!

Jade,
My how time flies, can''t believe your sweet button is 15 months old now. What a cutie pie he is!!! Hope all is well with you!! Guessing you have your hands full!!

mrsS, beneath that angelic exterior lies a cheeky little bugger. It seems all I do all day is chase after him saying ''no no no'' to everything he tries to get into, climb onto, puts into his mouth. How many creative ways can one think of saying "NO"?

kaleigh, yeah button keeps me on my toes and busy, but it has been the best 15 months of my life and I wouldn''t give it up for anything.

First time mums-to-be, you have a wild ride ahead and there''s going to be lots of bumps, but so far it''s been very fulfilling for me, and I hope it will be for you gals too!

xoxo

Jade.

Jade: wow, time sure does fly by!! i can''t belive my son is turning 9 months on the 10th of Jan!!! it just seems like it was yesterday when i had just delivered...

love the pic with the bag!!

Ella, she still spits a lot/vomits but it doesn''t seem to bother her too much. You can keep it in the fridge. I think it is 24 hours. Not sure though.

Msb & Jas, her sleeping most of the way was SUCH a relief! I would LOVE for her to sleep like that regular but she isn''t. Diver is a lucky mama for sure! I can''t believe Delaney is such a good sleeper.

Lili, she has been smiling more and more. We love it. I swear she giggled this morning but I think it is too soon. She''s been "talking" a lot too.

Jade, button is SOOO cute!!! I cannot believe how big he is.

OMG, Jade, that pic of Button is just *priceless*. Adorable!!!!

I really wish we hadn''t asked for a travel system. We should have just got the car seat and my beloved snap-n-go. We actually forgot it in Ohio and DH convinced me to go buy another. That is how awesome they are. Just thought I would share for mommies still registering....

Oh Jas, don''t worry. I gained 50 lbs!
23.gif
32.gif
I felt like a freak show. Strangers pointed and talked about me on more than one occasion (I have witnesses)! Luckily I was preggo during the warm months so I wore flip flops for the last 30 weeks. In fact now that I am wearing *larger* regular shoes I find myself walking funny. I am not used to it! I cannot comment on how fast you will lose it. I still have 20 lbs to go. I guess nursing moms lose it slower. It is hard to buy bigger jeans and clothes (I was pretty small before I got preggo) but it''s worth it hun! Once you see your little babe you will forget how you feel now! I promise! March will be here before you know it!

HI everyone! Happy new year~~

We are all doing pretty good! Holidays went off without a hitch, but Jakey got an ear infection. He''s ok now, but now he has a cold. Poor fella. Delaney continues to be mommy''s little bundle of joy. she''s so HAPPY...it cracks me up. Kid is practically delirious she''s always cracking herself up. I"m not even going to mention her sleeping habits lest you all throw tomatoes at me. I have effectively eaten nothing but crap this xmas and I''m sure gained all that weight I lost the last 2 months back. grrrrr........oh well....there were some good burgers & beers involved...

Ella: I make 24 ounces of formula at a time & keep it in the fridge. (One cup of formula-- level -- unpacked to 24 ounces of water..) It will keep for 24 hours. Sometimes I make a little more---36 ounces of water to 1.5 cups of formula. That way I can shake it up and let the bubbles settle in the fridge. Also I LOVE Playtex nursers with drop-ins for the minimal in bottle washing. :-)

JadeLeaves: Button has great taste in bags!! LOL he is so adorable.

Jas: Hang in there, I was so supremely uncomfortable my 3rd tri...couldn''t do squat for myself--dh had to haul my ginormous hiney off the couch. It was a riot. I did not sleep at all either. Like Ella, I still marvel that I can go hours without peeing now!! LOL

Ok...I have to take a shower/do laundry...get some stuff done. We are having a cozy evening in...spicy chinese food, some wine, and renting the movie 23! EXCITEMENT. LOL. Oh well.....Jake''s not healthy, so we have to keep it low key.

xoxo

Jade, I am in loooove with your Button! Such a doll! And before I even saw the photo, I knew it''d be one of your gorgeous Balenciagas that he''d be toting
2.gif

OK, so I decided to make homemade choc. chip cookies today, and I ate some of the raw batter -- and now I''m all nervous that I''m going to get the babies sick if I breastfeed them. Bad selfish Mommy that I am!! So I''m thinking of doing a pump and dump, but I don''t know how long I need to do that for -- one cycle? Two? I feel so guilty.
39.gif

Tacori, I''m happy to hear you love your Snap-and-Go so much! We haven''t used ours yet -- we''re not going anyplace with four-week-old babies in the middle of winter -- but I am SO looking forward to the babies being a few weeks older so I can take them out in the stroller!

Diver, not to get too personal and you don''t have to answer if you don''t want to, but how did the situation with your Mom wind up? Did you ever talk to her after Delaney''s birth? Did you decide to open the packages she sent? I had a *horrible* experience when my Mom came up to visit last week, and I wound up kicking her out of the house (which is SO not me, but she just pushed both Q and I to the absolute limit). While I''m comfortable with doing what I did -- it had to be done. I could not have that negativity in my house any longer -- I''m obviously sad that it came to that. I was thinking about how unfortunate it is for her that she can''t be a positive and pleasant person even for the sake of her grandchildren and that led me to thinking about other people''s relationships with their Moms, and I thought about your situation and was wondering if there had been any resolution. And not related to that, but I''m sending along healthy vibes and good wishes to little Jake!

Happy New Year, everyone!!

I have not caught up on this thread at ALL yet (2.5 weeks of reading to do), but I wanted to say, I missed you all and am eager to sit and read all of the posts in the next couple of days! It''s GREAT to be home from Oz...I am so glad to be in my last trimester in the WINTER!!!

Hugs to all my preggo thread friends and happy new year!!!

TGal....so glad to have you back. we missed you!!

ella, I may be a bad mommy too, but i wouldn''t worry about the batter. I''ve sneaked a few bites while preggo and I''m sure i ate some when I was nursing at one time or another. I have no idea how long you should pump and dump though if you wanted to be 100% sure they wouldn''t get any.

i''m heading into my 3rd trimester, 2 more weeks until my next dr. visit and then i''m on two week visits for the next 6 weeks...crazy!!! i really am feeling huge and sleeping is getting more and more uncomfortable and i still have such a long way to go
39.gif
last night i was up 6, yes 6 times. i actually went to be early b/c i''ve been so tired and woke up sometime b/f midnight to go to the bathroom. then fireworks went off at 12:00 so i was up then. around 1:30 my 4 year old came in b/c she needed to go potty and needed my help, i got her settled back in her bed and went back to sleep. at 3:30 my 5 year old came in and wanted me to get in bed with her. went there for an hour woke up at 4:30 to use the restroom again and then up again at 5:45. i did get to sleep in a little past 8:00am but still feel tired. I think i need a body pillow to help. i toss back and forth from one side to the other, trying to get comfy. i''ve got approx. 12 weeks to go and they can''t move along quick enough!! oh and if i eat past 5:00pm, the heartburn comes....gotta just love the 3rd trimester. the saving grace is knowing the sweet little angel i will soon hold will be worth it all!!

hope all you other pregnant mommies are doing well, sleeping well and heartburn free
1.gif

Mrs. S...did I miss the gender of your baby?? Do you know yet?

Questions/concerns - I just received in the mail a referral for an "OB u/s >/= 14 wks" at a radiology clinic. Above the service requested, it says "656.5 - poor fetal growth*". Does anyone know what that means? It sounds like the fetus is small for dates, but I only went to the OB once at 7w5d so far and he didn''t mentioned that anything was wrong. I have my second visit scheduled for next friday at 10w5d, so the u/s isn''t until after our next visit. And it almost seems like it''s not that urgent. I am going call my OB tomorrow since they are closed today, but I was just wondering if anyone had an OB u/s at 14 wks? is it normal? or is it something to be concerned about?
