Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Goodness, I go to bed early and there is a flurry of action on this thread! You can tell when the moms have free time...

Qtiekiki--Are you kiddin me?!! Weight gain warning?! You are tiny and seeing a belly like that is depressing me right now--so therefore I forbid you to post! hehe--just kidding of course. You look absolutely beautiful!

Tacori--That first pic of Tessa should be in a magazine! My goodness, those eyes!

Diver-- Thanks for that info. I worry a little about post partum feelings. I get anxiety from time to time that really bothers me (i worry a lot) and I know being a mom = constant worry. I haven't experienced it at all during my pregnancy up until this point--I've felt really happy and sure about being a mom, but I've noticed it over the last week or so. I think b/c I have the impending birth on the brain and the reality of it is sinking in.

Tgal--Oh boy, that is a MUCH bigger baby from week 32-40--eeeeks. I've noticed I can see my tummy veins now like a web over my abdomen, meaning the skin is getting darn taught. And ya, the baby activity is a little nutty. I've read that they are supposed to be asleep 90-95% of the time now--i can't see how that is true, if so this thing has some major restless leg syndrome going on. It is always active.
BTW, did you notice you used the word 'she' when describing the birth in yesterday's post...hmmm, mommy intuition

Ella--where are you girl?--sheesh, you'd think you had twins to take care of or something...
2.gif
Hope things are great!

My goodness it''s busy here! I spent most of yesterday sacked out in bed. I''m just so tired this week! No nausea though. (*knocks wood*)

Weird, vivid dreams continue. At least last night was of the more...pleasant...variety involving one of the instructors I have for class. I love and adore and want to spend the rest of my life with DH, but can I just say hubba hubba???? The movies in my head at night are certainly entertaining.

I think I''ve developed arthritis in my right hand. It''s raining like the Dickens here (for two days) and I feel like my own grandmother, pulling at my fingers (which are of course, swollen.)

It''s funny with all this weight talk...I am truly freaking out at having gained three pounds...why? Not because of the weight gain, per se, but because of getting weighed at the doctor. For some reason, that has always been a real stressor for me. Since this is a new doctor, (sad admission --->) I even toyed with "padding" my pre-pregnancy weight when filling out the forms. I know this is dumb and I won''t do it, but my goodness. I guess I made the mistake of reading somewhere that weight gain first trimester should be "minimal" -- I am so glad that you guys are here to set me straight!

Phew!

And yes, I used to ramble like this in the WWT thread as well...those poor people are probably so relieved to have a respite from my navel gazing.

Ok, QT, seriously, I should post my tummy shot. Feel free to take it to the doctor and say, "See -- I could be her!" You are adorable! I am so sorry ,because it seems like the doctor has made you rather anxious about this.

Tacori -- Oh my goodness...how Tessa has grown. She is just beautiful! Love the first picture! And the second!

Diver -- as usual, very good, sound advice. LOL at Delany''s pizza/rice cereal binge! Whee!

TGal, you keep cracking me up! Thanks for the continual giggles!

As far as baby bonding, I was just reading on that yesterday. Apparently it is more common for it to be delayed somewhat than it is for it to be instant. But nature usually works, ya know?

Thanks ladies. I think she''s pretty cute too.

RE: bonding, I guess I just wanted to mention it *just in case* some of you new mommies feel that way. I felt very bad about it. But it didn''t last too long. Now I am completely in love.

Diver, I posted that hat pic just for you! I told you Tessa couldn''t do hats. Her head is too small! I guess she will be petite like her mom. I was always the smallest girl in my grade. Tessa has actually lost hair. She has a mullet poor thing. So funny about D and the pizza.

Jas, she has a little brown spot in her eyes so who knows what will become of the pretty blue color.

Jackie, don''t worry about gaining weight. It is for a good cause.

msb, glad you can relate. I think a lot of it was shock and thinking, okay the baby is here now what.

Okay, must finish packing....

Tacori--forgot to mention, have a great trip!

Jas--I remember that exhaustion--surrender to it and don''t feel guilty. For me, it has returned on and off in the 3rd tri.
--Vivid dreams are supposed to be common, write them down (well, maybe not the steamy one
31.gif
keep that for ahem, private occasions)
The only 2 pregnancy/birth related dreams I''ve had featured a toilet--wacky---I am wondering if that''s going to play into my actual birth experience at all, since i''ve read a lot of women like to labor on the toilet--how beautiful
3.gif

--I wanted to pad my pre-preggo weight as well--since i got preggy immediately after my wedding my weight was at it''s lowest. I gained up to my usual weight almost instantly and wanted to attached a note to my file stating "bridezilla induced body weight -not an actual representation of patient"

Wow, so much content, so little time to read it all!

Qtiekiki, you are *adorable*! I can''t believe you even have a baby in that "bump," you teeny thang, you!

And speaking of adorable, can we say Awwww, Tessa!!! Seriously, you get the best photos of her, Tacori! I need to hire you to take some photos of G&K. I''ve taken millions, believe me, but most are not frameworthy, which is so hard for me to deal with because obviously they''re the cutest little 9-weekers in the world! I got them the cutest little winter hats the other day, will have to take a photo ...

TGal, the eviction notice is brilliant
9.gif
Seriously, that should be the title of a pregnancy book!

Diver, holy crap, what a scare, huh?? Oh, I was thinking of you the other day b/c we ordered our BOB Duallie
36.gif
Unfortunately, babycenter was sold out of them, but my dad got us one anyway from REI -- yeah!! Hubby is a member and should be getting his year-end 20% coupon, so we''re actually going to return and rebuy the stroller at 20% off and then Momma here gets that $100 to spend on a cute pair of sneakers. Right on!

btw, i love hearing what tessa and delaney are doing at their ages -- good prep for me to know whats ahead!

As for bonding ... I felt the love in the hospital, but i gotta admit that once i got home, i wasnt feeling it too much. the first few weeks are draining draining draining, and for me it was hard to feel anything other than tired and frustrated. i mean, i obviously loved the babes, but it wasnt this ooey gooey stars-in-my-eyes around-the-clock love. and that was hard to deal with, for sure. but it does get better! and i recommend finding yourself a good pregnancy forum (in addition to this one, of course!) b/c people will discuss this quite a bit, and it helps knowing youre not alone.

weird, but i never had any crazy preggo dreams!

i feel bad that i dont have the time to address everyone, but i do love reading your posts still and cant wait for all the spring arrivals!!

Tgal - You are right. My dr is Chinese. I never thought of Asian dr being insensitive, but I think it might be the case with him. No I am not going to just disregard him about weight issue, but I will try not to be so harsh on myself.

I guess I had always been very conscious of my waistline/belly. Right now I think the bump looks like chub. That''s why I''ve been so anxious. At least DH had been pretty supportive and telling me "I''m not fat. It''s just the baby.", but then he is the one offering ice cream. hehe. Thank you ladies again for your reassurance/support.

qtiekiki, you aren''t alone feeling that way. With all my pregnancies I couldn''t wait to at least get to the place where I looked pregnant rather than like I''d just gained some extra weight. Plus, I''m an avid excerciser and I really struggled seeing my usually fit physique get so HUGE. Even now it''s hard and I know it''s totally worth it in the end. I just try to dress really cute and always do my hair and make-up etc. and that really does help some. You probably have several weeks b/f your bump really looks like a baby bump but just get some cute babydoll tops, they make everyone look preggo to me
3.gif

Diver, I''m glad things turned out ok after the big scare!

Tacori, Tessa is so so so cute! I hope you have a safe non-eventful flight with Tessa.

Qtiekiki, I can''t believe your doc gave you a weight warning! You look great! Tiny!

This thread is really moving. Can''t keep up with it.

Tacori--
Awweee, major cuteness alert! I am loving every bit of Tessa
30.gif

I''ve said before and I''ll said it again, she''s got some gorgeous eyes.
And those lips are too cute!
Anyway, like other ladies have said, you''d be surprised by how many mothers don''t have that instant love for their newborns (if they will admit it).

TGal--
Eek....I don''t think my belly can accommodate any more growth.
I have to say though that 40-wk baby looks a bit too plump if you ask me.
Maybe I should refrain from eating those brownies and chocolate chip cookies after every meal.

Qtiekiki--
Are you kidding me? Geez, I can''t believe the nurse and doctor even raised an eyebrow about your weight gain.
You are super slim! Funny you should mention that the dr is chinese cuz that''s what I was going to ask initially.
Anyway, you''ve got a cute tiny belly.
That''s great that your DH is supportive. And ice cream is a good source of calcium :)
Hehe, your hubby is a little like mine. Ever since we found out we are preggo, he''s been constantly monitoring my weight
making sure that I gain more than enough weight as not to starve the baby. He''d be worried if my gain is less than average.

Jas12--
I think our babies are practicing for some dance competitions
5.gif

Or maybe they are itching to come out.
Some days, I feel like she would come out of my belly button.

zhuzhu - Thank you. I was wondering where you were because I just stopped seeing you in BWW. I am so glad everything is going great for you. You are one strong woman, moving out to SD for your ex-fiance and having the courage to leave him. I applaud you. How''s wedding planning coming along?

Tacori, LC, Tgal - you girls sure know how to make a girl feel better. I''ll have to knock my dr in head the next time. hehe. The whole weight thing is just so confusing.
31.gif

Thanks to you too! Actually the beauty of San Diego and my wonderful postdoc lab made the transition easier than expected. My ex was really a bad news and I was lucky to find that out sooner rather than later! Now I am with a man who is gentle, kind, intelligent beyond belief, and full of integrity and compassion (total opposite of my ex). I simply couldn''t be happier!

My fiance still lives in PA for now, but he will be moving here for me before the year end, then we will plan the wedding details from there. Lots of change happening in life and that''s what keeps being alive amazing!

That is so true.
My niece had on a babydoll outfit the other day and I was just telling her how it makes me think she''s preggo
9.gif

but she still looks adorable.
I think babydolls and low rise pants are the best.
You can wear them well into your second trimesters and always post-preggo.

Oh, Charger requested updated pics (hope you are lurking).

Here she is at 12 weeks.
I'm here!

Oh my- what a doll. LUV the hat pic, and what GORGEOUS eyes she has!!

THANKS much for sharing them, Tacori.

Safe travels to y'all.

Well, back from the docs today. I go every two weeks from here on out (until it goes down to every week I guess). Love waiting for the doc for an HOUR only to see him for one MINUTE. I guess things are going well so there''s nothing for him to say. Weight gain, right on target. Gut growth, right on target. I''m a boring patient so far, but I am hoping that does not change. Anyway, weight gain...up a total of 27 pounds. I was hoping to only gain 25, but it looks like I''ll be closer to 35. I''m good with that...

And boy, it IS getting harder and harder to pee in that cup!!!

Qtiekiki, yeah, doesn''t surprise me your doc is asian. Asians aren''t known for having the best beside manner.
20.gif

Jas, I use she and he interchangably. In speech, I usually say "he." Today I reminded my doc that I didn''t know the sex and he said it was a good thing I reminded him, as it IS in my charts. He said he would cross out the information. He also confirmed that this is the most active period and they would quiet down i the next few weeks. He also said the weight gain would slow down, but I am not counting on that!

Oh, and my fatigue has returned as well, but to a lesser degree.

Jackie, funny about the pre-preggo weight. When I weighed myself at home, I was 2 pounds lighter than at the doc''s office when it came to starting weight. Only pregnancy would lead you to believe that the heavier weight is the one to go with!!

Ella, that sounds normal. I''m reading a sleep training book right now and a lot of people breath a sigh of relief when the baby is so easy during the first week. However that is normal and it can get a lot worse from weeks 2-6. I just don''t love anyone when I am sleep deprived!!!

lili, I have been having dreams that TTot is literally tearing out of my stomach. It''s like taffy...stretches and becomes membrane thin as TTot squirms and pushs its way out. My thought in my dream is "Oh no! How am I going to get my stomach back together!"

Here she is at 12 weeks.
Ahhhh, what a little doll! I love seeing the cutie pie baby's!!! I saw Ms.Flutter's cutie, Ella's double cuties, Divers cutie and Curlygirls cutie; your baby's are sooooo cute!
30.gif

Tacori, little Tessa is a gorgeous baby!!!! Of course I wouldn''t have expected anything besides gorgeous having seen your pics here and on the BWW forums, lol!

Love everyone else''s preggo pics and baby pics, everyone is beautiful here!

I attended my SIL''s baby shower a few weeks ago and she looked awesome, same body with a big basketball for a belly, super long hair down to her waist all of a sudden which she says she won''t cut off when H3 as we call her makes her appearance (I don''t know about that...we''ll see how she feels when the baby starts grabbing fistfuls of that lovely hair)... the baby is due anytime now and I''m having trouble not calling her or my brother every day asking if she''s gone into labor yet. I really hope to travel down to my hometown for the birth.

I love checking into this subforum, I''m really hoping that sometime this year DH and I have stable jobs and can start trying for a baby. Again, I''m 30 and he''s 37 and we''ve been married for almost 5 years so it''s high time we get down to the business of starting a family! Thanks for letting me lurk!

Taking Tacori''s lead, I have to brag about the cuteness of my little man! He is 20 months now, and so much fun. Here''s a pic.

CutestBoyEVER.jpg

aww LC, he''s adorable.....thanks for sharing the picture!!

tgal, i can''t believe your going to 2 week visits and 27 lbs is great. i have my next appt. next week and then i move to the 2 week visits too. crazy.

so do any of you 3rd trimester mommies feel like you''re starting to waddle? When I get up after sitting for a while, I''m a little slower and noticed i''m totally doing the pregnant duck waddle and have to make myself walk normal
4.gif

Mornin

It is so bitterly cold here this morning-- skin exposure warnings, and I have to take the ski team out to train for 4 hours this aft. Oh sometimes I am happy, happy, happy to be preggo

3.gif
--i''ll sit in the lodge and read....

So I watched In the Womb last night--very fascinating. I kept waiting to see the 33 week footage--luved getting a little glimpse into what crazy-baby is up to right now. It is reassuring to know that he/she could be born at any time and require minimal medical assistance. 33 weeks is too early of course--wouldn''t want that(!) but it''s still comforting. I can''t believe the ''viable'' age is around 23-24 weeks--that''s craziness--teeny tiny fragile things at that stage....

Tgal: You and I have gained the exact same amount so far, and for me the gains did slow. I''ve only gained around one pound since early January (well, that was at my appnt. last week anyway). I am thinking I''ll end up in the 35lb range as well, and like you, I am okay with that. It''s just my thighs that scare me a bit. They seem to get bigger/jigglier in proportion to my belly, so although I don''t look like i''ve chubbed up too much--i am sure once the belly goes down the evidence will remain.
Crummy about the tiredness issue--we need to get our naps in now.

Ella: good to hear form you--i am sure your millions of Gabe and Kate pics are great! But when you do get that special one, well, you know what to do with it!

Monarch--exciting that you may start ''trying'' soon--we''ll be waiting! Hope everything goes well with your SIL

I''m so glad to hear that everyone is doing well - in pregnancy and with little ones.

Tacori - Tessa is sooo adorable! Those eyes are mesmerizing. Very cute indeed.

Q - you have a cute baby bump and don''t look fat at all so I don''t know what your doc is talking about.

Litigator - your son looks a lot like my boss'' son! Hahahaha! He looks like he keeps you busy!

I''m doing well myself - sleep deprived but feeling so much better now that the m/s has lifted. I''m feeling a lot of stretching/pulling going on in my abdomen so the little one must be growing fast. Nothing painful, just uncomfortable at times. The bean also is fond of sitting on my bladder so I often feel like I have to pee sooo bad even if I don''t. My next OB appt is a week from tomorrow so hopefully the doc says everything looks good. I got the results from the nuchal screening and everything was completely normal. Baby is growing right on target and does not appear to have Downs Syndrome.

I too have really strange dreams lately. A few nights ago I dreamt that we had a daughter and after she was born she turned into one of those preemie Cabbage Patch dolls - bald and all. Eeek! A while back I had a dream that we had a son and he went from being a newborn to being a toddler in a matter of days and I was really freaked out about it (in the dream) but everyone kept telling me it was normal and that "they don''t stay small forever". Oooookkkaaaayyyyy.

Did anyone see the Early Show this morning around 7:45? They did a segment on pregnancy brain and the forgetfulness that comes along with being preggo. It was pretty interesting because I was watching and nodding at the same time. I''ve become so forgetful and disorganized the past couple of weeks. Just this week I took some docs to court for the boss and left a whole stack on my desk that I didn''t notice until after I had come back. They were right in front of me and I totally spaced it! Oh well - no big deal but that is not like me. I also keep losing my car keys (like at least twice a week) and panic in the morning when I can''t remember where I put them. The list goes on....

I will try to post a belly pic soon while it''s still small and so cute. When I look down at it it still looks like chub but when I look at myself in the mirror, especially from the side, it is definately a bump and not just chub. I love to rub it and talk to the bean.

Hello all, just dropping in to say hi and report that things are still going well over here (fingers crossed!).
35.gif

I had betas done Mon and Wed due to the spotting on Friday, and the numbers are good:
19dpo -- 2200
21dpo -- 4500
They actually look a bit high, based on what I could find online, but the doctor didn''t seem concerned... so I''m choosing not to be either!
2.gif
I am officially 5 weeks, and so far I''ve been feeling pretty well symptom-wise... just verrrrrry tired these past few days. But today is DH''s 30th bday so I''m trying to summon the strength to clean up around here and then make a fun dinner for him... poor guy has been dealing with all kinds of craziness these past 10 days!

Tacori, Tessa is so beautiful!! I can''t get over it... she is one of those babies that people gasp over (in a good way... haha). And LC, your son looks like he''s having such a great time out there in the snow!

I am trying to decide how to break the news to my best friend. We are very, very close (talk multiple times every day) so keeping this secret from her has been impossible so far! She knew we were off birth control, but I think she''ll be surprised nonetheless... and since she''s not really a "baby person", I have a feeling she''ll have mixed emotions. Obviously thrilled for us, but sad about how things will change... which is kind of how I feel too! Speaking of mixed emotions, I am very glad to report that the emotional rollercoaster seems to have slowed a bit for me. I''ve been feeling much more steady these past few days! Now if I could just figure out how to deal with the exhaustion...
37.gif

TGal--
I couldn''t agree more about the pnv appt.
DH pretty much said that we can do appt. ourselves -- with a scale, bp monitor, and some protein test strip.
Fortunately for me, the wait at the office is not too bad.
They are pretty efficient. I don''t think I''ve waited more than 15 minutes each visit.

27 lbs in 33 weeks is great! And I''m sure you''ll be well under 35 lbs when Ttot arrives.
I do hear that your weight gain do slow down in the later weeks.
My officemate told me that she actually lost a few pounds in the final 2 weeks, so there''s hope.

MrsS--
Funny I was just about to ask the very same question
1.gif

I don''t think I do. Well at least no one has told me that I do.
Maybe they are just being nice and not point it out
3.gif

Wow, can''t believe we are on biweekly visits already.
In fact, I''ll be going to the first biweekly next week.
Woohoo...we are in the single digit week already!
Question.....when do they start doing the cervix exam for dilation?

Jas12--
With all those step classes, I am sure your body will bounce back to its pre-preggo state in no time.

Diva--
That''s great that m/s has lifted.
Enjoy this trimester!

-----
We need updated pix of the cutie pies!

ephemery1--
That''s great news!!
I''m so glad to hear.
Take it easy and rest up.

lili, it''s been so long i don''t remember for sure but i think they start checking your cervix at 36 weeks. that''s when they do the group b strep test too (i think)....

Yah, 36 weeks. My doctor didn''t tell me that she was going in for a closer "investigation" of my cervix - scared the crap out of me! That little incident is burned into the memory banks.

Mon, very exciting that you may be trying soon! Sending babydust your way!

LC, your little man looks so happy and adorable!

MrsS, I catch myself doing the waddle too. I just came back from a lunchtime walk (about 2.5 miles), as it was the only thing my doc recommended to me yesterday. By the end, I was waddling for sure. I''ve always said though that I do not feel pregnant, except in my hip joints. It''s always felt a bit wonky in there.

Jas, I hear ya on the thighs! Mine have gone from "sturdy" to downright BEEFY. Put em on skewers and serve em up at the nearest brazilian bbq. Eek.

Plus I can''t believe you''ve gained only one pound since Jan! I''ve gained...dunno...5?

DivaDi and Ephemery, glad to hear all is going well! Ephemery, I am sure she will be excited for you. Just keep in mind that her life isn''t changing just because yours is, and continue to be interested in HER life. I think that will help a lot.

lili, I am going back to making the first appointment of the day. My waits were only about 10 or 15 minutes then. The last couple have been in the afternoon and the backlog gets ridiculous.

Mrs.S--i think i have a bit of a waddle after sitting for a while too--mostly to compensate for my sore hips--sounds like we are all in the same boat
yay for bi-weekly check-ups--they in themselves are a PITA, but it does mean we are getting closer!

Eph: glad to hear things are still going well. Sleepiness is a good sign! Telltale pregnancy symptom. I am sure your BF will be thrilled --maybe not so much at first, but i bet she will luv your little one like an aunt.

Tgal--Brazillian BBQ thighs for sure (damn, now i have a BBQ craving)
don''t know why i only gained 1 lbs--my body will likely make up for it by the next weigh-in, b/c i *know* these thighs are bigger than they were a couple of weeks ago!

How''s everyone''s appetite ?? Today i could have eaten all day, non stop and wanted sugary things every hour. Other days my appetite is very normal--what''s up with that?
I''ve heard the 3rd tri is bad for intense cravings and getting up in the middle of the night to eat--i have yet to do that--but it has crossed my mind at a 3am pee break. Did anyone, or is anyone doing that or is it a pregnancy exaggeration like the pickle/ice cream stereotype??

Jas, from about a week ago, I have had my first inclinations of real cravings. Like last night, it was Korean food. Today, it''s almond roca (although I''ve been able to put a kabosh on that -especially since we have none in the house.) No midnight eating for me, and nothing wacky yet. Just a healthy appetite and a fondness for anything sweet. That can mean cake, cookies, of something simple like fruit.

Yup, sore hips and a bit of a pain in my butt...maybe light sciatica?

How''s everyone coming on the baby prep? I''ve stalled. The crib is up but I haven''t ordered the sheets, etc. I have promised myself that next week I will go buy some things...like diapers. If this baby comes early, I''m toast.

MrsS and LC--
Thanks for the heads up on the cervix and group B test.
Definitely not looking forward to it.

LC--
Forgot to say that your little man looks so care-free and happy playing in the snow.
Thanks for sharing the photo.

TGal--
You are so lucky you don''t feel pregnant.
I feel sooo pregnant. Feel like the baby could burst out of my belly any minute.
She''s putting alot of pressure on my ribs too.
So much so that I can''t even sit up for too long without rib pains.

Jas12--
Yup, definitely had my share of waking up in the wee hours of the night raiding the fridge.
No particular craving though. Just an insatiable hunger that can''t seem to be quelled.
What makes it worst is that my stomach is already so bloated from the dinner that hasn''t quite digested.

TGal--
What baby prep?
41.gif

I better get a move on since April is just around the corner.

Well, here''s the shortlist...

Diapers
Infant Carseat
Boobs

You''ve got at least a third of your prep done...
