Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Tacori and MrsS.--thanks for the advice, I decided not to go--since there is no real need to (other than just wanting to) it''s not worth the risk--the other teacher was more than happy to get a 3-day ski holiday out of the deal
4.gif

Tacori--I keep thinking "go early, go early, go early" thoughts--but i have a feeling I''ll be late like you--since very late labor runs in my family i have genetics against me!
Sorry to hear miss T is still feeling icky
8.gif
Hope the dr. can provide some relief.

Ella--
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Anyway, don''t worry too much about the strawberry mark.
My niece had one and it did indeed disappear before she started school.
It didn''t grow too much bigger too.
Your twinsy are so cute....I kept scrolling back to see their smiles.

I thought that was you who told us that her DH issued an "order" to her belly for the babies to be twins.
He must be ecstatic when he saw the two sacs! He''s probably double-timing on his mantra -- baby clothes, food, finances...

Jas12--
Sounds like you had a blast with your mom and sis and of course the luxurious spa!
I hear you on being rich and famous and being able to get pampered like that on a regular basis.
I guess that''s why you don''t see stressed out celebrity preggos
3.gif

Anyway, glad to hear that you pass on the trip, although it is a bummer
8.gif

I''m sure your students would have loved for you to be there with them.
But being that you''ll be 36 wks, it probably is not going to be a relaxing 4-hour trip for you.
I know I can''t be in a car more than 1/2 hr before my back starts tingling away.

Don''t be envious of my legs -- you haven''t seen them from the other angles ;)

Tacori--
Poor Tessa...I hope the doctor is able to give her something to make her feel better.

Curly--
Hopefully the m/s gods will overlook you this time around.
1.gif

I can only imagine how hard it is to be nauseated and running after and speedy crawler.
Good luck on your prenatal appt.

Hehe, same here. I don''t think my belly can accommodate a 41-wk baby
32.gif

I think we''ll most likely see MrsS little Jake before any one of us (you, me and TGal) go.

Genetics are against me too.
My mom said that she carried every one of us to full term.
My old sister was 1 wk early with both of her girls.
My younger sister was right on the EDD.
So if anything, I may be lucky and go 1 wk before my EDD.

Jas12 - I''m in Calgary. I looked it up, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba have also added Family Day. yahh!!!

My mom had a history of going late - for all us girls, she was about 3 weeks late (her doctors back then did not induce people, so she just rode on a lot of bumpy country roads!). So I was convinced I would be late. But mini man decided not to follow that plan, and came 2 weeks early.

Thanks for all your well wishes. I know this to will pass but it sure is annoying!

My mom was early with all of us. My sister was 2 weeks early, I was 3 weeks early, my brother was 3 months early. Of course there was a medical reason that we were all early (they discovered during her c-sec with my brother). She has a wall in her uterus so there wasn't much room for us to grow (beyond when we decided to arrive). I on the other hand must have a penthouse for a uterus! It is roomy, warm, and VERY comfy! Tessa was no fool. No runny nose or coughing inside. It's hard to cope with the outside world. So much more work to survive! I am guessing by choice I'll always be late. (And I KNOW I was late since I found out I was pregnant so early at 3.5 weeks) but my doctor said they will induce at 39 weeks next time! Yay! Hopefully he won't change his mind. It was hard to push her out and I am concerned what will happen if my next baby is bigger. I had such a good experience being induced I would not mind it again! Much calmer.

In other news I tried the Bumbo again with much better success. She seemed to like being able to look around easier. Once she gets a little plumper I am sure she will feel more secure in there.

ETA: Lili, you have NOOOOO idea what your body is able to do. You will be shocked!
23.gif
It truly is amazing.

Tacori, I feel for you. Colds suck! I remember the first cold my little man got. He was up about every hour through the night - DH and I took turns sleeping with him, and the other in the spare room. Now I am a Purell crazed woman!!!

Ha ha, Jackie, I''m an idiot -- I got married in Sept. 2006, not Sept. 2007 like I posted earlier! And here I thought my "pregnancy brain" was pretty much over with, but apparently not! I knew we were in BWW at the same time
1.gif
And you know, I also found out we were having twins at 9w1d -- funny, eh? Sorry your sister was so rude about it. You''ll hear lots of stupid comments, believe me. I really don''t understand why some people just have brain farts at the sight of a pregnant woman and think it''s OK to say things like, "Wow, you''re huge!" Uhhh. Thanks. On the other hand, thankfully there are also a lot of people who are incredibly nice to preggos and new mommies -- every time I go out, I''m reminded now that there are still some good people out in the world! BTW, I''m pretty sure that your body won''t explode -- you''ll just feel like it will
2.gif

Tacori, Katelyn is 9 lbs as of last week (10 weeks), so it sounds like she and Tessa are probably pretty similar little chiquitas (I assume K will be about 11-12 lbs. in 4 weeks, and T is 4 weeks older than K). I love that Gabe is all burly and chunked out while Katelyn is just a teeny little doll. He''s 3 lbs heavier than her!! Diver, that''s funny that Delaney is such a solid little mama -- you must have good biceps!

LitChick, I totally agree that hair loss on mommies is NOT funny. God, it''s just depressing
39.gif

Hope you''re feeling better soon, Jess! Dry heaves sounds unfun to say the least. And you feel better too, Ms. Curly!

Oh Jas, that spa treatment sounds heavenly! That reminds me that my Dad and stepmom got me a gift cert to a spa for a facial -- gonna go book it now while I''m thinking of it! Oh, and in other "Yay, I''m a woman and not just a mommy!" news, Q and I are going on our first date since the babies were born Thursday night
36.gif
I cannot wait! Of course, I have NO clothes to wear other than my one pair of jeans, but that''s OK. Hopefuly I can find a cute shirt to wear at the mall tomorrow so I don''t feel like all poochy pooch. This "fourth trimester" thing is weird.

OK, will it be way too hoggy of me to post another photo of the babies? I got the *cutest* shot this morning of both of them smiling at the same time ...

IMG_1138 (Medium).jpg

Hey gals, not ignoring you. Will catch up and post more tonight when I am not working and can concentrate! Lots of comments to make re: tiny bellies, multiple news, photos, etc!

I still owe you a belly shot. Weekend was nuts. We decided to put my dad in a nursing home (he''s been sick for a long time) so I was pretty busy. And it was TGuy''s 36 birthday as well. By Monday, I needed some R&R and finally got that preggo massage that Ella has been recommending. I''ve needed it!

Be back later....

Ella, we were posting at the same time, and I have to make a quick note to add...OMG, that is the best photo. Blow it up...it''s absolutely frameworthy! One for the ages to be sure...

Tessa update: DH just called me. She has a URI. They are sending him home with a little machine where you put medicine in and it mists it out. I guess they did some while at the office and she stopped wheezing. Who knows what I have. Doesn''t really matter as long as it goes away!

TGal, so sorry to hear about your dad. Hope TGuy had a great b-day.

Ella, I was always petite so I guess T takes after me. My mom said I ALWAYS wore the same size as my age (ex 2T when I was 2). Most kids wear bigger sizes than their age. I was always the smallest girl in my class. I was hoping T would be tall like DH. I guess vote is still out. Oh, we weighed her last night and she is *just* over 11 lbs so tiny indeed! I agree, I rather have a little girl than boy. She was under 10lbs at her 2 month appointment (25% for weight, 50% for height). Great pic of them both smiling! Have fun on your date! I forgot, are you going back to work?

Curly, hope you feel better! Are you going to keep the sex a secret like last time?

Ok, I think I am going to make some soup.

Ella,
That is the cutest pic ever!! They look terrific, love their huge smiles, how fun!!
36.gif

OMG, Ella! They are sooo cute! I could just eat that picture of them! I agree that it is frameworthy!

Jess

It''s good to know late and early labor is not really genetic--my mom annoys me with her ''predictions'' she goes on and on about how I was so late, the labor was 48 hours and i was just a tad under 10lbs--to her it''s a guarantee that i''ll have a late, long, labor and big baby. Sheesh, something to look forward to!
I am hoping it''s early, short and more average sized-just to prove her wrong
2.gif

Tgal--i was wondering where the heck you were! Fill us in when you are settled

Jas, baby size IS actually genetic *ducking for cover* but you''ll do fine.

ella,

i just had to pop in to say those smiles are too cute!!!

Diva -- Poor sweetie. I hope you are feeling better. It's not fun feeling floopy, and it is certainly not fun feeling floopy and having to go to work. I send you ginger hugs. Thanks for the congrats! Sounds like your friend has quite a handful, but I lurve those names. It's amazing how far medicine has come, especially for premies! We are almost certainly fraternal (two very well divided placentas). Now we have to come up with all sorts of name possibilities!

Curly -- thanks. I am already praising the PS gods for ella's experiences and logging them on here. You are right, we are blessed, especially considering that, according to one doctor I had, it was going to be "nearly impossible" for me to get pregnant without some serious interventions. Oops! Keep us posted on your appointment next week. I send you lots and lots of nap time!

Jas12 -- I think I missed your earlier post -- thanks for the congrats. My sister has a lot of anger issues...always had. I guess I should have expected her response. She did this all throughout my wedding planning -- basically making me feel like I was acting like a brat no matter how little I discussed the wedding. (and trust me, I discussed it very little...) I had asked her to be my MOH (my mom's request and one I was happy to extend) and her response was to tell me that we are "biological sisters only" and that I had no right asking her that. Up until 3 days before the wedding, she kept hemming and hawing about coming, never mind participating in the ceremony. She spent the hours we were in the bridal room getting ready telling me all the problems the wedding was causing on a grand scale and on a small scale. She also yelled at my photographer when he told her to smile. Just telling her I was engaged caused her to rail on me...I believe her response to that was "Oh, that's nice. I'm really busy with work so I hope you don't expect me to do anything." The thing that hurts is that she is really really great with kids and dotes all over her friends' children. I am sad that mine will, most likely, not really know their aunt too well. Fortunately, I have 3 sisters-in-law who are so happy and a brother who is already walking around calling himself Uncle Joe.

Yikes, sorry, way more than you needed to know. I get very frustrated with the whole situation.

Anyway, I am glad that you are staying home from the trip...I did get a good chuckle out of the idea of your water breaking on the bus...I can only imagine how students would react to that!

Lili -- ha! I want him to double his mantra on winning the lottery! He was pretty funny looking when he saw the twins...mouth and eyes wide open.

Ella -- bwah...I never get the year right for my wedding either. Odd. I am already getting some interesting questions...people apparently really need to know if I was on fertility drugs. Uh, excuse me? Do I know you that well? Do I ask what meds you are on? CUTEST BABY TWIN PICTURES IN THE WORLD, by the way!

Tacori -- I hope your little on feels better, poor thing.

my little man has been fussy today, so this will be brief..

curly- too funny about Ian being on steak by his first... who knows at this rate.

Ella- your twins are just the cutest. msK looks like such a little lady, I''m totally in love with her!

tacori- hope the both of you are better soon...

TGal- sorry for all the stress this weekend, hope TGuy had a great Bday! good for you going to the spa... have you seen the new mommy and me spa in the riviera? i''m going this week, they have babysitting with a videocamera from the nursery in the spa..so you can see your baby while your toes are getting done. kinda cool

seeing all the adorable baby pics going around (ella: love the new pic! too cute) has prompted me to share a pic of my son :) that boy can just put the biggest smile on my face everytime i see him....sigh..mommy love moment :)

(i think he was mid conversing or something when this pic was snapped :) )

msb- your son is cutie..heartbreaker is right!!

ella- the shot of the smiling twins...priceless..i agree with t-gal to blow that pic up and frame it!!! darling..

tacori- i hope tessa is feeling better. Lily got a cold that turned into croup when she was about 4 months old. totally scared me to death. I just hate it the tiny munchkins have difficulty breathing
39.gif
..

t-gal, thanks for the quick check in. please give us and update and pic when you can. you''re hovering on 35 weeks right? you and Jas12 are getting so close
36.gif

jackiejas--yuck, that is really too bad about your sister. Did you ever post about her in BWW ? Your story sounds familiar. I didn''t post much then but I did read a lot of the threads. Maybe the twins will bring you two closer--babies have that power. I was complaining about my strained relationship with my mom a few months ago (something that only started when I moved back to my home town) and although i get really annoyed with her, I am hoping the baby will be a good way to reconnect--like "this is not all about us anymore--there is another teeny family member around" thing--who knows.

msb--your son is gorgeous
30.gif
--those eyes! that hair! PS moms really do have amazing kiddies

MrsS--Yep, Tgal and I are 35 weeks now--woohoo--I am working for 2 more weeks then I am off for the year (SO happy) I don''t think that part has sunk-in yet.
If we''re getting close, you are getting close...time is ticking on

I''ve noticed lately that I don''t like to leave the house messy or disorganized--it''s usual state. I keep thinking that each time I go out I could possibly go into labor and I don''t want to bring a baby home to a messy house(?!?) That''s silly b/c i am sure the house will be super messy once baby is here--but at least it will have an organized homecoming. I also laugh at myself b/c I ''ll probably have a good chunk of time to tidy up before heading to the hospital--i am sure the thing won''t pop out instantly.
5.gif
and I have a month to go before EDD etc. etc. but i am still acting irrational.
I am rambling--better do some work.....

msb, he is so handsome! He has great hair.

jas12, your story about wanting a clean house for the baby to come home to is cute. I was the same way with my first. My water actually broke around 3:00am and before we could leave for the hospital I had to move wet towels that were in the washer to the dryer, make my bed and run a quick vaccum over the carpet. hubby was emailing all of our friends and family that we were getting ready to be on our way. anyway, the *nesting* thing is very normal.

Have room for another? I''ve been lurking on Pricescope for years (since we were decing on an e-ring..ended up with an OEC) and then I began lurking on the this thread when I found out I was pregnant. Apparently I registerd a while ago, but this is my very first PS post!

Anyway, I want to say PS has such beautiful babies! Congrats to all the mammas and to all those expecting! I had my beautiful baby girl on January 18th. Her name is Tayva. I just wanted to join in, because I''ve found you never can have too much support when it comes to becoming a mom! Although it is the best thing I''ve ever done, it is also the hardest and there have been so many things that come with motherhood that I could have never prepared myself for (like food allergies when breastfeeding...but that''s a whole other post!).

Welcome Burk!

Support is so important. Congrats on your little girl!

Jas, sounds like you are nesting (which never happened to me
20.gif
) Wish it had. Just a sign you are getting cloooooose!!!

Welcome Burk...we always have room for another poster..Congrats on the birth of you beautiful baby..is that her picture in your avatar?

Welcome Burk!
Congrats on your little girl!

Ella--
That pix is precious.
Love those cheeks!
30.gif
30.gif

And please, feel free to post as many pictures of those darlings as you have.
We always love seeing the little ones.

Tacori--
Hope the humidifier did the trick.
Is Tessa feeling better today?

Jas12--
Wow, 2 more weeks of work and 1 year off!
We are definitely going to see more posts from you then
2.gif

35 wks!! Woohoo.....five more to go.
So are you on a weekly appt yet?
I have one more biweekly next week and then I down to a weekly one.

TGal--
So sorry to hear about your Dad.
At least now you know he''s well taken care of in the nursing home.
Hope TGuy had a good b-day.
Anyway, fill us in when you get a chance.

Thank you for the welcome!! Yes, that is my little one in my avatar. I''ll see if I can figure out how to attach a picture of her in this post. No guarantees since it took me a half hour just to figure out how to change my avatar and Tayva is starting to stir...time to eat!

Lili, I think she is feeling better (wish I was
14.gif
) but it is hard to tell. We ran the medicine twice and it does seem to loosen stuff up (not a pretty sight haha) I just sit her in the bumbo and aim the wand right at her mouth. She doesn''t seem to mind it. Thanks for asking.
