Kay CONGRATULATIONS!!! Don''t worry, at that stage, your embryo isn''t even attached to a placenta to get anything to cross it & harm it. I think the placenta takes over (and toxins cross the placenta to the fetus) at about 8 or 9 weeks. Perhaps someone on here knows and can jump in.
But that said...even when I knew I was pg...I colored my hair (and yes, ammonia was involved), painted my nails, drank coffee, etc... I wasn''t worried about that stuff. Ibuprofen is a no-no, but, its a bigger problem in late pregnancy, so the chance that it affected your baby is practically nil. Don''t worry at all.
New Years a year ago (not this last one) I had no idea I was pg & got HAMMERED on French 75''s. (gin & champagne). Oh man, I must''ve had 7 of them. Little girl is just fine. LOL. I wasn''t even late yet, and we had missed the window, I had no symptoms, so I didn''t think I should worry. Hooo boy.
We all beat ourselves up about what we did, ate, or drank before getting our BFP, so don''t be too hard on yourself. That little bean in there is just fine! HUGS!
As for insomnia...well...that''s pregnancy. LOL. Ask your doctor if you can take Benadryl to sleep. There are somethings you can take, so don''t think you have to suffer, just consult your OB & you two can weigh the odd/risks/and perhaps find a safe course of treatment for you.
Warm milk & cookies though run a close second! Calcium for baby! LOL......
