Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

OMG, Diver. Delaney is just too cute. I *heart* her!!!!
2.gif

Diver,
That''s a great pic of miss Delaney. Gosh she is just the cutest!!! What a sweetie pie!!
30.gif
30.gif

omg, get a load of princess delaney -- hah! what a ham she is -- love it! she''s just the cutest happiest li''l babe, diver!

cord banking ...sigh. wanted to do it but find it prohibitively expensive, which pisses me off to no end. "we have this great procedure that can save your baby''s life ... oh, did we mention that it''s thousands of dollars so many new parents (esp. parents of multiples) can''t actually afford to do it?"
29.gif

i was thinking last night about all the VERY-soon-to-debut babies and wondering what the surprise babies will be! here are my guesses:

TTot = boy (Aaron? I know the girl is Amelia, I *think* the boy is Aaron ...)
Baby Jas = Mira
21.gif

And of course we know about Jake and baby girl lili! lili, i don''t remember - did you tell us your name? are you the one that''s using jadelyn?

hee, ms k is farting up a storm on my lap right now. why are baby farts so darn funny?

What a smile Delaney has! I hope my kid has nice lashes like that. 50/50 chance...asian lashes are not known for being long and luxurious, but TGuy has them so we will see...

MsF - primrose oil eh? I don''t even know what that is...but I''m willing to go for it if needed!

Jas, since I have my doc appointment today, we can compare notes afterwards. Hopefully I will remember to ask the question...

Diver, I saw something the other day that made me think of you. On the BOB faq site, there was a complaint that the stroller doesn''t close flat with the carseat adapter. Apparently it should, if the adapter is installed the right way...which is hard to tell...something about looking for holes and makiing sure it is face up the right way. Does yours close flat? I couldn''t remember....

Ella, you may be right. If the sperm swimmer story holds true, then the boy sperm probably got to the egg first because I think we had sex at the perfect time. And yes, it is Aaron...

And baby farts are TOTALLY funny. But for that matter, so are adult farts. Sneezes make me laugh too (baby''s, not adults!)

Yeah, it seems that cord banking is marketed to the more well off...those who can afford to spend money on the "best" for their child.

forgot to wish you ladies good appts today!

and TGal, i get total lash envy all the time and am jealous of so many baby''s lashes!

have any mommies had to put ointment in their baby''s eyes? i''ve got erythromycin for k''s goopy/crusty eye (infected clogged tear duct), and she''s such a major squirmy worm that there''s not a chance in hell of actually getting it IN her eye so i''m just shmearing it on her lashes and hoping she''ll blink in enough -- think that''s ok?

skippy! thanks how are you??? haven''t seen you around here lately. do you have any links to your ring? I love it!

Dani: Thanks! how''s life these days?

Ella: Yes, Jake got goopy eyes when he was 10 days old, and I had the same ointment. Its more for the tear duct I think, rather than the actual eye ball, so just smear it in that inside corner & that''s just fine. You are nursing 2 kiddos, that''s probably why you dropped your weight. I never got to that point in nursing. Awesome job momma!

Burk: How is Tayva? Scary that she has an infection in her lungs so little. Keep a close eye on her & run a cool mist humidifier all night long and during naps so she can breathe. Keep it close to her bed/crib or else it doesn''t have as much impact. I''ll be thinking of you guys.

Tgal: My BOB folds flat just fine with the adaptor on. Now its a double, not a single, so who knows. But its BIG. LOL. People always comment on it....kind of funny, its narrower than other doubles but people feel compelled. Its STUPID. I hate the crap that comes out of peoples mouths sometimes.

LitChick: Miller feeling any better? I wish I could give you a few of my pounds. Just a couple. LOL.

Well I''m off to try and fix my Palm Pilot. Its an older one & I can''t get it to sync, but its still in great shape (Palm IIIc). I have a brand new HP IPac, but it doesn''t support weight watchers on the go, so fixing my Palm I get to try. It works, I think I just need to uninstall/reinstall software. Of course. And with 2 kids, stuff that takes brainpower does not happen that often. I love the WW tracking system for handhelds. So easy. I''m more inclined to journal if I have something techy to play with.

Then we are walking to the library cuz momma needs to burn some calories.

Diver, how old is your palm? I have one here that I was about to throw away (a m500). Is my model newer than yours? I know mine is old (got it in 02 I think) but I am loathe to throw it away because it''s still new since I never used it much. I still have the box, manuals, packaging, everything! If you want it, maybe I can find a way to get it to you...only Mara has my email addy on PS though.

Hello ladies,
I''m fairly new to Pricescope and have enjoyed reading everyone''s story. You all have beautiful babies.
I just found out last week that I''m pregnant. I have a dr appt tomorrow but I''m freaking out a little because I have Rh negative factor in my blood and I''ve just read that this could be a problem. Has anyone here dealt with this?
TIA

doxielover,
congrats and welcome!!
like MrsS and Demezla said, Rh negative is not a big deal as long as your doctor is aware and take appropriate measures.

Jas12
Awee...sorry to hear that you didn''t do the maternity pix. You can always have Charlie snap some artsy poses and print it out on sephia or b/w.
It doesn''t need to be professional
1.gif
As for myself, no no no....not doing those pictures. I''d probably break the camera doing so
41.gif

Was never photogenic. Also, I''m passed the point of having a bare belly photographed.

MrsS
I''m doing pretty good here. I can''t really complain since I think I''ve had it pretty easy with this pregnancy in terms of nausea and aches.
Back pain is not too bad. It just get a little tender when the little one stretches to that side of the belly.
Wow, can''t believe you are going to go pretty soon! And among the three of you (Jas12, TGal, and you), I''d thought you''d be packed and ready to go already.
Hey, you still owe us pictures of your baby shower.

TGal
I get eye and lashes envy too and all the kids here have such big gorgeous eyes.
At least your kid got a 50/50 chance of having big eyes and luxurious lashes since daddy is caucasian

My bet is this:
MrsS will have her Jake first.
TGal will have her Amelia next.
Jas12 will have her Colin.
Then my Jadelyn

MrsS
I forgot to say that you should just post a weekly belly pix from here on out.
I don''t think you''ll go to 40 wks
3.gif

38 wks max!

Hehe--luv the predictions
Here''s my guess:
I think Mrs.S 1st. (boy of course)
Tgal and I the same day and both girls
41.gif
--only b/c we seem to have a lot of similarities and i think it would be neat if 2 PS went at the same time!

Tgal--i asked my OB about the cord blood banking, i wish he was easier to understand (*thick* accent!) --from what i could make out he said that they could let the cord pulsate a little but would need to clamp it fairly quickly to preserve the blood. He said the pulsating cord benefits preterm babies more than fullterm. The preterm babies need the extra iron, but some fullterms have too much (jaundice?). From what i have read there are other benefits as well, but we didn''t get into it. Let me know what you find out.
How much is banking in the US? I think i paid a little over 1k for 18 yrs storage (+ a courier fee b/c it has to be flown to T.O that day)--my parents helped out thankfully.

My appnt was good--Dr. said the baby is not too big, not too small (whatever that means) and he said the head is down lower than last week so that''s promising---no cervical exam so i have nothing to go on there.

It would be funny if you two go in at the same time and both have girls!

Yay for the baby moving down lower.
36.gif
36.gif

That''s definite progress there.

Doxie, congrats and welcome

Re: Cord banking....I asked my dad about this (b/c he is the smarted man I know
2.gif
and does extensive OB research) and he said for *us* it is not worth it (it is expensive! And there hasn''t been enough research on how it is stored, works, etc) We don''t have rare blood types and since we are both white European finding a donor for bone marrow (if needed) would not be a problem. He said he would only suggest it for couples from vast different ethnic backgrounds where finding a donor would be difficult.

So Tessa had her 4 month appointment today....there is a little snag....the little peanut only weighs 11 lbs which is 5% for her age (head and height are both 25%). The doctor was *slightly* concerned so we are going back for a weight check in a month. I feel really bad. I hope she is not starving! I feed her every 3-4 hours. I *think* my milk supply is good. I don''t know. Of course I am a small person (5''1" and used to errr be thin
3.gif
) and was always a petite child (smallest kid in the grade in fact) so he did say it is probably genetics. Still doesn''t stop me from worrying! We are going to start her on the rice so maybe that will help add some calories to her diet. Wish I could give her some of my fat
20.gif

Tgal: Oh you are too sweet! I just pulled the trigger on a Palm Z22 this afternoon. Got a great deal & then realized WW doesn''t support it. ARGH! At least I bought it from Amazon directly, so I can just return it when it gets here. (grumble grumble grumble).

I''m going to head out to the electronics warehouse over here and see if they have a cable for mine (that''s what I''m missing..who knows this may be a $5 fix instead of having to buy a whole new handheld).

I was kinda excited about the z22 though...all techy, cool, with lots of memory to store pics of my cute kids on. Sheesh. I may just buy a Zire 72 (color, camera, pics) since that is supported.
ARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I may take you up on your offer however!

Thanks!

Diver, forgot to mention D is so cute! What a great photo! Also so funny about the cakesters.

Diver--i think it was you who mentioned this documentary a few weeks back: The business of being born.
The CBC (our public broadcaster in canada) gave it great reviews--it''s american in content--but like all things american, the canadians are usually more interested b/c we tend to be effected by everything you guys do
3.gif

Anyhoo, everyone remembers Ricki Lake right?! Well apparently she had a hospital birth and then a home birth for the second child and deciced to look into the business of birth in the USA. Looks interesting.........but i LUV a doc. so i am kinda nerdy that way
(just saw Jesus Camp and King of Kongs -- really fascinating!--but nothing to do with babies or birth!)

Here''s the ''trailer''--anyone actually seen it?

The business of being born

Diver, I just love those eyes on your baby. Precious, indeed!!

Hi ladies. It''s been a while since I''ve been on back on here. Sorry, I haven''t caught up on all the postings yet. My husband and I have been pretty busy working with our builder to have our house done and completed on time. Our lease for our apartment ends at the end of this month, and we are scheduled to close next Thursday morning. Everything was going well until yesterday morning.

Yesterday, I had my second doctor''s appointment and my NT scan with trisomy 13 & 18 testing. I went by myself because my husband had to be at our final home inspection. The ultrasound tech was not able to get a clear picture with the ultrasound outside my belly, so she told me she would have to do a vaginal ultrasound to get a better look. I thought it was odd because I was already 11 weeks and 6 days along, and thought she should have been able to see through my belly. Anyhow, she did the vaginal ultrasound and did not say one word to me. I asked her if everything was okay, and she told me she had to get the radiologist because she is not allowed to tell me anything. She also asked me if I came with someone, which I thought was an odd question. While I was waiting for the doctor to come in, I looked on the monitor and saw our baby. It looked so much bigger than it did 4 weeks ago, when it just looked like a blob to me. I could see the hands and the feet so clearly. I was waiting for what seemed like forever, and finally the radiologist came in and put his hands on my shoulders and told me that they are sorry, but they did not see a heartbeat today. When he said that to me, I thought I was dreaming because I could not believe what I just heard. My body was going through a state of shock, and I still am. I did not know how to react. I finally started bawling when I called my husband to tell him. He couldn''t believe it as well because we just saw the baby''s heartbeat 4 weeks ago and the doctor said everything looked excellent. The ultrasound tech lead me out of the room the back way after I got dressed, and lead me out to the elevator where I would go straight up to my doctor''s office to see her. When I was in the elevator, I saw 3 women who''s belly was big and full, and it just made me so sad and so empty inside.
8.gif

I can''t believe this is happening to us. I had so symptoms, no bleeding, no cramping, so I thought everything was fine. This was my worst fear - to have a missed abortion or missed miscarriage. My doctor was in disbelief when she saw me. She said it looked like the baby stopped growing about 1.5 to 2 weeks ago, and she doesn''t know why yet. My eyes are so tired from crying and I am so worn out emotionally since yesterday. She told me whether I decide to miscarry naturally or have a D & C done is up to me. I decided after some thinking that the D & C procedure would be best for me so I can be done with it and finally begin to heal. The D & C is scheduled for Monday at 8 a.m. I wish we could do it sooner, but that was the earliest my doctor can have it done.

Part of me keep going back thinking it''s something I ate or did, though I thought I was really careful making sure I ate healthy things, etc. I''ve had many conversations with friends and family and all have given me great advice. I know of many people that have had miscarriages, but I guess I never thought it could happen to me (who ever would think it could happen to them?) I guess this just wasn''t our time to have a baby, but it doesn''t mean that this is totally killing me inside. I got pregnant right after I got off the pill (after 2 weeks), so I am hoping that we won''t have a hard time getting pregnant again. I wanted to get on last night to type this posting, but I was such an emotional wreck, I could not get myself to get to read all of your happy postings about your pregnancies and your cute and wonderful babies. It just breaks my heart too much right now.

Has anyone had a D & C done before? Any words of advice or comfort would be greatly appreciated. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we are going through this really difficult time. I know I will heal with time, but right now, that seems so far away.

I'm so sorry for your loss radiant girl......it's not your fault this happened...miscarriages and what happened to you happen more than you think--my friend had it happen to her at 21 weeks and she was devastated, but 4 months later she got pregnant again and just gave birth to a HEALTHY baby boy.....i'll keep you in my prayers....get a good support group, but remember--this wasn't your fault. BIG HUGS

Radiantgirl, you will be in our prayers. I''m so sorry. You try to take time to rest and heal in all ways and know that you didn''t do anything bad or wrong.

Radiantgirl,
I am so sorry. Please know it''s not anything you did!!! I had a D&C after a miscarriage, it wasn''t bad. I will tell you many of my friends went through the same thing. They all have gone on to having healthy pregnancies, so hold on to that.
2.gif

I will be keeping you and your hubby in my prayers. And sending you a warm HUG. I know this is hard.... We are here for you!!!

Oh Radiantgirl ... I''m so so sorry. Unfortunately these things often happen for reasons we can''t understand no matter how hard we try, so all we can do is accept that it must''ve happened for a reason greater than we can comprehend. That''s the only way to make sense of things sometimes ... But like everyone has said, it''s not from anything you did or didn''t do. You didn''t cause it, and you couldn''t have prevented it from happening.

Sending you big hugs and best wishes for peace and comfort in the next few days ...

Radiantgirl
*Hugs* I''m so sorry for your loss.
It''s not your fault that this happened.
Miscarriages during the first trimester happen for no apparent reasons at times.
You''ll be in my thoughts.
Take care of yourself and rest.

Radiantgirl-- a big, giant bear hug goes out to you..it''ll take time to grieve and take all the time you need! Use those friends that understand what you are going thru as support.

radiantgirl~I am so very sorry for your loss. I cannot even imagine the pain you are going through. Hugs and prayers to you and your husband!

RadiantGirl: Oh wow honey, I am sooo sooo sorry. My heart broke for you as I read that. I had two miscarriages, one 3 months before I got pregnant with Jake, and another 3 months before I got pregnant with Delaney. You can & will get pregnant and have a healthy baby. These things just happen for no apparent reason.

Please, PLEASE know, there is NOTHING you did to make this happen. It just happened. Since you are opting for a D&C, you can ask to have the fetus tested for genetic abnormalities. One of my girlfriends did this and she found out she miscarried a down syndrome boy. She went on to have a perfectly healthy baby girl a year later. But at least you''ll have some answers if they can identify something.

I had a D&C (but for a polyp, before I ever got pregnant, and it wasn''t bad physically).

I know what the pain & heartbreak from miscarriage is like..please give me a shout out if you need a friend.

HUGSSSS

Radiantgirl, just wanted to say i''m sorry too. I had a miscarriage last april and got preggo this time in july. my sister also had a miscarriage last June (her first pregnancy) and is preggo again and due in may. So although I know it''s so painful and sad, i do believe you will get pregnant again and have a healthy baby very soon. you''d be surprised how many women really do miscarry. i never knew until i had mine and discovered so many had been in my shoes. hang in there and know were thinking of you.

radiantgirl, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart dropped as I read your post. I can''t imagine what you''re going through.
39.gif
Please know that it''s not your fault. Take care of yourself. My thoughts are with you. Lots of hugs.

radiantgirl - Big *HUGS* to you and your DH. I am so sorry for your loss. Know that we are here for you whenever you need.
