Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

radiant- you are in my thoughts and prayers. A friend of mine had the same thing happen. They saw the heartbeat and went in for the NT and there was no hb...she had a D&C and now is pregnant again with a due date of June 10! There is nothing you could have done, it just wasnt the right time for the little one...sending you big hugs and prayers.

Jas- i just wrote about the business of being born a few days ago. I watched it and was really impressed. i thought it would be overly pro-home birth, but it wasn''t really. They focused alot on the US health system, how OB''s are surgeons and aren''t really needed in most births...and what was shocking to me most surgeons (obgyn''s) graduate med school and finish residency without ever seeing a natural (unmedicated) birth. Which explains why so many of them are not supportive of it. They also talked about how the AMA is working really hard to have insurance not cover midwives as it takes $$$ out of the MD''s pockets. Those are some of the business aspects. But they also talk about the difference in emotions between natural oxytocin and fake pitocin in the emotional high of childbirth...who knows how accurate that is, but it was a really well done documentary and they also talked about the need of c/sections, but how rare the necesity is. If you cant tell, i was highly impressed.

Radiantgirl, I am very very sorry for your loss. I echo the others...it is not anything you did, or could have done. But now is the time to rest and take care of yourself. Hugs to you.

Thanks for warm welcome and advice. You guys made me feel better.
Diver - my due date is Nov 7
Jas12 - you watched King of Kongs: A Fistful of Dollars? My FI watched that last summer at a Arcade Convention, nerdy I know. ''Mr Awesome'' was there talking smack about Billy Mitchell.
Radiant Girl - I''m sorry for you loss

radiant: i am so sorry to hear about ur loss. i agree with everyone else that this was not due to anything u have done, so please do not think that...i wish u and ur husband all the best

Ohhh, Radiantgirl, I am SO SORRY to hear this news. My heart is breaking for you and your husband right now. Please know there is NOTHING you did wrong....I will be praying for you and thinking of you during this very difficult time. **HUGS**

If you have a midwife, a Dr. is still there though, right?

Radiantgirl, I''m so very sorry to hear of your loss. I''ve been there too and I''m thinking about you. I hope that you can be happy again very soon. So sorry.

Radiantgirl, I am so very sorry. I wish I knew what to say. Sending lots of love and healing vibes your way.

Fisher, it might depend on where you live, but I''m booked into a midwife led unit and there won''t be a Dr there at all. The unit is in a maternity hospital, so if something goes wrong, I''d be transferred to the obstetrics ward and treated by a Dr. I''m assuming it''s a good choice - our Prime Minister''s wife had her babies there!

I''m 32 weeks and all my pregnancy care has and will been done by my midwife. I had one Dr see me because my baby was transverese and I had rib pain, but since there were no problems, I''m back with midwife led care. I know that it wouldn''t suit everyone, (I know some people are horrified by it!) but it is the only option I''m personally comfortable with.

Anyway, my good news is that I''ve just had a visit from my midwife and the baby has turned! Not transverse anymore, but head down and in a great (and more comfortable!) position. Positive visualisation, swimming and time spent on all fours has done the trick - thank you for the tips! I am sooooo relieved!

Diver, Delaney is such a gorgeous little girl!

Jen

Radiantgirl, I am so sorry about your loss. Get support from family and friends. We are here for you as well, in any way we can.

Miller is doing better, but his sleep is not! This sickness/DH returning (he will not go to my DH - cries when DH picks him up)/daylight savings time/teething has completely screwed up his all night sleeping (a plan that I was quite fond of!). I am not into cry it out, so any ideas to get him back on track? Or will it just take time?

Diver, your posts always make me laugh. I love that pic of Delaney (and by the way, what an awesome name!).

Ladies, I am frazzled. I am having some more health issues and DH is completely heartless about the whole thing. As you know, one of them is my weight, and this morning, after a rough night with Miller, I was going to put on a skinny little belt over my suit, which I had not worn for a long time, and it was ridiculous huge. Inches upon inches too huge. I just stood in my closet and cried.

Okay, putting on the happy face.
20.gif
. Have a great day, PS family!

LC, sorry about your health problems. It sounds so upsetting for you. Is it possible that the stress of Miller''s illness and DH being away has contributed to this? NOt that it would make it better for you right now, but at least you''d know there was a reason. Sorry your DH hasn''t been helpful. They just don''t think sometimes!

I hope Miller settles into his sleep pattern again asap - that must be so hard on you.

Hang in there.

Jen

Morning all--had the worst sleep last nigh, draggin my butt around this morning. I think i''ll procrastinate with PS for a while before tackling the house. Why can''t we switch the nesting instinct on and off?

Litchick--sorry to hear you are having such a rough time--when it rains it pours eh? Everything seems to pile up at stressful times. I''d make another appnt about your weight/thyroid issue, maybe see a specialist if you haven''t already. My hairdresser is experiencing something similar--always tiny but now weighs about 20 lbs less than pre-preggo and she''s only 8 months PP, they are doing tests right now, I''ll let you know if she finds out what the cause is.
Hopefully your fam can get some R& R time this weekend to get everyone feeling a bit better.

Fisher--typically a Dr. isn''t around (that''s usually what women are trying to avoid) I don''t know about the US but in canada midwives are trained exclusively in childbirth for 4 years of intense university education--way more than any Dr. or OB. They have hospital, home or birthcenter rights so the mother can choose where she wants to labor-surgeons are always on call at hospitals should something go wrong, but they have way lower rates of intervention (in some centers less than 5%!) The problem in canada is that there is a shortage-- It''s such a demanding job i guess it''s not appealing to a lot of young women as a career choice.--i couldn''t get one so I have an OB. I like him, but my 4 min appnts pale in comparison to the hour or so women i know get to spend with their midwife. Okay, i ''ll stop now--hehe. can you tell i wish i had one!

MrsFlutter--i''ll have to check it out--i wrote papers on several of those issues in uni-- that was years ago, it''s amazing how they have still not been addressed. I didn''t catch the whole review the other day but i did hear something about Ricki L. becomming a doula and basically dedicating herself to this research...a much better contribution than that cheesy talk show she had IMO
3.gif

Doxie--i luv, luv. luv documentaries-anything that examines something about the social world is fascinating to me, so King of Kongs fit that bill--i didn''t even know that subculture existed! Apparently it is alive and well if your DH just went to a convention
2.gif
. Have you seen it? The best is when Billy Mitchell equates his donkey kong record with ''the abortion issue'' --i''ve never heard such a misquided statement of self-importance--sooo funny.

Doxie~congrats!

Diver~Delaney is soooo cute! She just looks so happy in every picture you post. And thanks for the advice on the humidifier...hadn't even crossed my mind.

Tacori~what a petite girl you have there. I'm not even going to tell you what Tayva weighed at the doc the other day....makes me feel like my kid's a porker compared to your tiny gal!
2.gif

mrsmitchell~so glad your babe isn't transverse anymore!! Tayva was for a while when I was in labor with her and it was NOT fun. She turned, though. Amazing how babies know what to do to get ready to get out of there!
1.gif

LC~so sorry Miller isn't sleeping well and you aren't feeling well.

Jas12~sorry you had a rough night's sleep...just think pretty soon the sleep will be rough because you're getting up with your little one!!
23.gif

Tayva has been in the weirdest pattern the past few days. I don't know if it's because she's still not feeling well or what her deal is, but she eats and goes down between 7 and 8 for the night. Up to eat between 1 and 3am. Up to eat again between 3-5 hours later. Back down and up for good around 8 or 9am. So that's all good....but from 9am on she does not take good naps. Yesterday she slept for 15 minutes a few times and then one time for an hour. That's it! She's so tired and cranky then by 5 or so and she just refuses to go down. She is 8 weeks old. She should sleep more than that during the day. I can tell she's tired. I get her to sleep and 15 minutes later her eyes are WIDE open and she's just done with the napping thing. Any suggestions?

Morning ladies!

I did have my appointment yesterday. I''m shut as tight as a clam. Of course, I know that means nothing, so I''m not worried about it.

Still, I''m kind of tired of being pregnant and would have liked to hear "exciting" news. I came home to two boxes from BRU and was confused because I didn''t order anything, and my friends have bought me stuff already. Well, what a delightful surprise, especially when I found out who the senders were: Mara and Alj (now AlisionD)!!! I was so touched and so caught offguard I got all teary eyed. What a way to make a hormonal pregnant woman happy and weepy at the same time. It was so incredibly thoughtful and made my day.

Re: cord banking. Jas, it''s way more expensive here. 2000 bucks just to set it up, and 125 every year thereafter. so about 4K instead of the 1K you paid? My doc said "why not do it...if you can afford it" because he thinks it''s really expensive. Also the delay in cord cutting...he says they squeeze some blood back to the baby. Honestly, this is not a hot button issue for me, so I am fine with whatever they do. He''s delivered 15,000 babies, so I figure to SOME degree he knows what he is doing.

And as Tacori says, I am inclined to do it because of ethnicity issues. Asians are horrible at donating anything. Koreans have only become marginally better in our community as churches, etc do blood drives. Our baby is of mixed race which makes it even more complicated. So I am leaning toward doing it, but can''t say for sure yet.

Ttot''s head is still down, yay! MrsM, glad to hear yours is too. Keep doing the exercises...as I said, my friend''s baby was anterior, head down until 40 weeks...then the baby went face up!

Diver, well, let me know if you want it...the offer still stands. I''ll just keep this around for another week or two before I throw it away then.

lili, "past the point" of having your bare belly photographed eh? What does that mean...you look like you''re 12 weeks (by "normal" standards) pregnant now? Hehehe.
2.gif

Tacori, aww...your little girl doesn''t look "too" little to me, but I''m fine with donating my fat to a good cause should she need it.
1.gif
My friend''s kid is 3 years old and only 25 pounds...the skinniest little thing but he EATS. A lot. So genetics does have something to do with it, I think.

LC, I don''t have any tips for you, first of all, because I''m not a mom yet and secondly because I do believe in CIO, so I''ll just send my best sleepy vibes your way for Miller. I am sorry to hear about your health issues. Do they have any idea what is causing the weight loss?

Tgal: How sweet of Mara & AlisonD to send you some goodies! What a treat! This is such a great community. I just popped a package off to my bff who lives in L.A. (when I come visit her this spring or summer, we''ll have to meet for coffee!!! I want to meet Ttot & you can meet D in person!) She''s not expecting it, nor is it anything off her registries. But I found a "baby briefcase" at Nordstrom to keep all her papers in order, the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD, and some flannel rec'' blankets that I found were big enough to do a tight swaddle when I had Jake. I was going to get her the waffle ones like Tacori loves, but I never used them, so I stuck with what I knew. I almost grabbed one and stuck it in there for good measure though. But I had fun wrapping it all & found her a hysterical card. She just found out her parents are splitting up, and that her brand new home has hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage to it (they are in litigation right now and she''s 5 months preggo). So I''m hoping some treats will pick her up, since she won''t be getting any good pressies until her shower.

LitChick: do me a favor...go see your doc & get a referral to an endocrinologist. While my degree in Literature did not include any rounds in medicine, it sounds to me like you might be having thyroid issues. I''d be jealous if I weren''t worried about you. At any rate, you want to identify the cause of your rapid weight loss. Never a good thing. In the meantime, can you get some meal shakes (aka Slimfast, EAS, etc.) in a flavor you like & pound those between meals to get some extra calories/vitamins? I like the milk chocolate ones (of course, I use them for weight loss or when I don''t have time to eat thanks to my kiddos). Go have a steak. and some peanut butter. a meatball sandwich. I''m sorry you were crying in your closet this morning, that really sucks & is kind of scary. Get seen..pronto...

Biz of Being Born: I just asked a friend to Netflix it for me.

Delaney: She is a pretty smiley kid. Thanks guys. Her lashes are NOTHING compared to Jake. Figures, the boy gets the black mink fringe around his eyes.
20.gif

Speaking of fringe: I was washing my face (had my hair back in a headband) and what do I see? a HALF INCH of baby fuzz fringe!! Anyone remember Katie Holmes'' wedding pictures? It was about 7 months after Suri was born & she had weird fringe. I remember seeing those & thinking ''ahhh...the baby fringe''. Now its me. Glad I cut bangs this year.

BTW TAcori: my hair loss is FINALLY slowing down. Thank goodness. So sick of it everywhere.

Midwives: nice thing I hear about midwives is that they camp out with you while you are in labor. With an OB you are lucky if they see you at all before you get to 10cm. most of them aren''t even at the hospital while you are laboring. The nurses call & keep them aprised, and as long as everything is ok, there is no reason for them to be there. My friends who have had midwives say they stick around and support them more during labor. One of my L&D nurses was a certified nurse midwife, and it was slow on the floor, so she spent a lot of time in our room. She was really wonderful.

Well, I''m going to go entertain my children. Its raining here, so i''m thinking library trip or something of that nature.

Hugs to Radiant girl...

Diver you are a good friend...your bff will totally appreciate it.

Speaking of which, I have been on the lookout for a PPB bag for you on craiglist, but the design you wanted has never shown up. Have you gotten your bag yet? There have been other designs for sale as low as $40, but they were pretty beat up. They seem to resell in good condition for about 100 bucks.

Yeah, I was touched. Mara I''ve met 3 times and we exchange emails about once a month or once every other month. Alj I have never met, nor ever spoken to her "offline" in any way. I''m still waiting for Mara to send me Alj''s email addy so I can thank her directly! It was really a sweet thing to do.

NYCsparkle, fishofmengirly, Kaleigh, ellaila, lili, Jas12, Burk, Divergrrl, mrssalvo, snlee, qtiekiki, msflutter, TravelingGal, doxielover, msb700, Dani, MrsMitchell, jas, LitigatorChick - Thank you so much for all of your kind words and support. Thank you for sharing some of your personal experiences with having a loss and/or D & C procedure. I''m back at work today, only because I feel bad for missing 2 days of work already and also to try to get my mind off of things. It seems like Monday is so far away, and I think I will begin to heal slowly after my procedure. I have to go back for a follow-up 2 weeks afterwards to make sure that everything is completely out. The good news is that my doctor said the next time I do get pregnant, she will keep a closer eye on me and wants to see me every 2 weeks. She will perform an ultrasound at each visit along with taking my blood to check my hormone level. I know we will definitely try to get pregnant again after her recommended 2 regular cycles. Hopefully, I will back on this thread soon enough, this time with a happy ending.

Thank you again for everyone''s support. You guys are so wonderful and it''s so nice to come here and share experiences whether good or bad and have everyone be so caring and supportive. I know I will be okay and will heal with time. Thank you for letting me share my pregnancy experience while it lasted.

Radiantgirl, I do have faith that you will be preggo again soon, this time with a baby who is meant to come into this world and bring you and your DH boundless amounts of joy. I am so pleased to hear you will be closely monitored next time and hope that you will not stress with it all. I look forward to reading about your pregnancy journey in the near future.

Thanks again to everyone for their kind thoughts. Just to clairfy -- I won''t have another pap for a month or so. I am just going to think positive thoughts.

All is pretty well in JAS land, with the exception of my SIL inviting her bestest friend and his daughter (15 yrs old), who are from Sweden, to stay at my house next week for three days. I will have to give up my office (which is also the spare bedroom, but it''s where I hangout, write, work, and NAP). And, because I guess I failed sandbox, I am really uncomfortable "entertaining" strangers for three days...especially because a large part of their impression of this country will be based on how I treat them...DH will be working. It''s going to be an interesting few days.

I feel like such a brat, but really, I don''t know these people. I am beyond trying to figure out why SIL would think this is a good idea. (She told them it was ok to stay with us before really double-checking with me and DH; by that time the hotel booking thing was prohibitive.)

This was not a fight I really want to pursue, but remind me to invite strangers to stay at my SILs house sometime.
31.gif

I am going to assume this will give me some good writing fodder...good bad or ugly.

At 12ish (I chose to believe 13 weeks per the US) weeks, I am definitely showing. Bumparoo!

And, holy cr*p, I read a book about breastfeeding (which I am going to do...at least most of the time...with two bambinos, I am not adverse to supplementing)...and I swear the author called baby formula poison. Ok, she actually said something like, "I''m not calling baby formula POISON but..." and then goes on to quote one doctor (the same doctor she quotes for the whole book) who tells his patients that formula is bad for babies. I was pretty miffed...that''s a pretty harsh statement. She did give really really helpful, good advice about breastfeeding, but ya know, I get it. Get off the Mommy Guilt Train.

Janinegirly -- ok, seriously, one pound? I may have to swat you with a box of Cakesters. Still love ya, though.
Mrssalvo -- yeah on the 1cm dialation! Jake is coming!
TGal -- you are a gorgeous preggo. You look exactly like how I want to look when I''m in my third trimester! You are a "model" preggo in more ways than one! People are giving me a lot of unsolicited advice...and they always seem to preface it with, "I know you''re probably sick of advice BUT..." or "You probably don''t want to hear this BUT..."
28.gif
So sweet of Mara and Alj!
Doxielover -- Congrats and welcome!
Diver -- Delany gets more and more gorgeous with every picture. Love the tiara, BTW!
Ella -- LOL at baby farts. I am totally throwing those on my DH''s genes. I saw a double baby carrier (the slingy things) -- do you have one? I also am convinced the Snap and Go is the way to go!
Tacori -- I''m sorry you are worried about Tessa''s percentiles. Does the worrying ever stop? I guess not!
Oh Litchick -- I''m sorry that everything is so overwhelming right now. Yuck. I second the notion of having your thyroid checked -- apparently pregnancy can really throw it off.

Well, I have to do some major stashing-and-dashing of all my junk that I never really sorted since moving in here 18 months ago. I hope the Swedes are not white-glovers!

RadiantGirl
You and hubby are both young and healthy.
I know you''ll be back here soon!
I''m happy to hear that your doctor will monitor you more closely the next time around [

That''s great, you''ll great to see the little bean progress!

Tacori
Tessa doesn''t look small in her pictures.
I do think it''s genetic. She''s like both my nieces.
They eat more than most babies, yet they were always in the bottom percentile.
All that matter is that they are healthy and strong.

Don''t worry too much about the weight.
My siblings were always the smallest kid in class, so we were not surprised when my nieces are too.
I''m embarrassed to say that I was only 35 lb when I was in third grade, but never missed a day of school due to sickness

for the baby flipping.
Keep at whatever you are doing to ensure that the baby stay that way.

TGal
Awee...that''s so sweet of the dynamic duos (Mara and Alj).
It never ceases to amaze me how generous and kind some PSers are.

Tacori: About Tessa''s thinness. Jake was a peanut too. 6.5 lbs at birth...and very slight for a long time. Dude is 37.5 inches tall & 27lbs right now. And he''s 3! Talk about string bean. He''s ALWAYS been 9%tile for weight and 75% to 85% for height. Put it to you this way. Jake wears a size 4 diaper and Delaney wears a 3! LOL! (of course potty training commences next week after my relatives leave) Some kids are just tiny. As long as she''s charting right (aka growing, even if she is a small baby) she''ll be fine. One thing I remember from when I was bfing, that the shields can reduce your supply/flow by 25%. I got that from Dr. Sears and a couple other sources. Of course, its all up for debate I''m sure. But I could not nurse without the shields....so....there was no other option. Jake would mutilate my nipple.

Jas: argh...the whole bfing argument makes me sick and p!ssed off. Yes, breast is best, bla bla blah.......you know what? My kids rocked the casbah on formula. Jake was breastfed briefly before I switched to formula and he''s friggin'' brilliant AND superhealthy. Shoot, the other day he split the atom. Ok, seriously, kid can almost read and he''s only 3. Its crazy how smart he is. yup, bottle fed. And Delaney was exclusively bottlefed & she''s perfectly healthy. She''s made it through cold season exposed to all sorts of preschoolers (i''m in a mom''s group and we do a few activities a week, so she''s EVERYWHERE and puts everything including other kdis hands in her mouth) all the time an *knock on wood* she''s yet to get sick.

Do I think its important to bf? Of course! there are so many benefits & its wonderful to nurse a child at your breast. Will your child become stupid & sickly if you bottle feed? Of course not. Your baby gets immunities across the placenta for 9 months. My ped says a lot of it has to do wtih consitution. I think you have to do what works best for you. It''s just the beginning of everyone criticizing your parenting skills.....
20.gif
I just get mad when people get all superior about it....especially if those folks have NEVER nursed, struggled, failed, wept for weeks with guilt, and had lactation consultants give upon their childs ability to latch.

Its a real touchy issue for me & one I have strong feelings about.

MrsM, so glad the little one turned head down! Yah!!!

Burk - maybe try taking Tayva for some walks to get her to nap, either in a carrier (loved my BabyBjorn) or stroller. Or car rides? Or in the swing?

Tacori - my guy has always been tall and thin (about 99% for length and between 75 and 90 for weight). The public health nurse at our immunizations at 18 month commented that he was not "proportional", and maybe we should see the doc. Her concern about proportion - he should be 99% for weight too if that is his length. Ridiculous! That is just his body type.

If you are worried, what about supplementing with formula? When I was breastfeeding, I always gave Miller 1 bottle of formula (yes that evil poison!!!) a day. It was great, because weaning was easy, it gave me flexibility, and it ensured he was getting lots of nutrients. Just an idea.

Diver/Jas12 - I have been up the thyroid flag-pole a few times. The consensus of the docs is that my thyroid did go crazy after delivery, which explained my fast weight loss, but it stabilized at 8 months. The problem for me is a lot of stress with my other medical issues which appeared about 8 months ago, which makes me lose my appetite, so I don''t eat very much. I try to munch on trail mix and nuts and stuff at work, and I have been keeping things in my target range. The past month has been really rough on many fronts (work, health, home, DH), and so I have not been very good at watching my weight. I just was really disappointed today. In any event, I see a doc next week, and this will undoubtedly be added to the agenda.

Radiantgirl, I am so sorry for your loss. Big hugs to you and your DH. I''m glad to know your doctor will be monitoring closely next time so you have less to worry about.

I''s wuz bottle fed and I''s think I''s brite.

1.gif

Seriously, if for whatever reason I can''t breast feed, I am fine with formula. Back in the 70s when I was born, only 25% of moms breastfed. My parents were poor but splurged on formula because they wanted what was best. I think I''m fine. And formula now is probably BETTER than it was back then. My bro was formula fed too...and he''s smarter than I am (not saying much, I know, but...)

Jackie, that is too nice of you to say, but now I feel guilty about deceiving you all. But not guilty enough to post a more groteque photo of myself. Ha!

Re: your SIL and your guests...eek! But you''re right...you will get some good writing/stories out of it, so at least I know we will be entertained!

LC, maybe everytime we see you on this thread, we should nag you to eat?
1.gif
I myself, need no such nudging, but know plenty of women who actually need to be reminded to eat! I''m just a pig, I guess.

Shall we send Litchick CAKESTERS?

Radiantgirl--You WILL be back on this thread! Sounds like you have a great Dr. and remember there is lots of support on here from PS mommies who have gone thru the whole spectrum of experiences.

Mrs.M--Hip Hip Horray for the head down baby!!!! That''s really great news! your hard work paid off. I was swimming this morn and it felt really nice--i could almost feel the baby nuzzling down in the pelvis (well, i was more picturing it for good measure), the weightlessness was nice on the joints.

Tgal--it makes me angry that cost is the main barrier for not cord banking since it''s not invasive for mom or baby. Groups are working to make it a public service in canada b/c this area of medicine is just taking off--i volunteer for Juv. diabetes research foundation (my sister is type 1 diabetic) and there is a very promising chance that she may be able to use my baby''s cord cells to treat her disease--pretty crazy stuff --part of my individual motivation for doing it. Who knows where medicine will take us in the next 15 years? That said, most ppl will probably never use it and that money could be spent on something else important like education!.... It is a lot more costly in the US!

Diver-- ''black mink fringe'' eyelashes, luv that image! and yep, seems like a lot of unappreciative boys get em while us girls go out and buy them! Shame.

Jas--ugh about the uninvited visitors--i would feel the same way, and i luv entertaining but not overnighters-- so don''t feel guilty. You must look so cute with your twin-belly. I just think twin momies are extra special so show that belly with pride! Are you going to give us a pic

Tacori--forgot to mention, teeny Tessa probably just takes after her petite momma. She looks as healthy as they come so i am sure it''s nothing you are/are not doing! Do you ever call her Tess? I like that nickname.

Diver, you are a chicka after my own heart. I didn't really get into breastfeeding at all (despite my general affinity for attachment parenting, Dr. Sears can let the kid latch onto his boob!!). I did it for a few months, and then weaned Miller. He is a freakin' genius, just like Diver's kidlets! Wowza we have smart bambinos! All kidding aside, it makes me mad to have nipple nazis making you feel like a failure if you don't do it. When I decided to wean Miller, I asked my doctor (who mentioned all the docs in his office were formula babies), and he said "I could make you feel bad, if you would like..... but it is entirely up to you - pros and cons on both side". It makes me crazy, especially since my sister has lupus and needed to get back on medication, which she could not do breastfeeding, and she felt bad about stopping early. Whatever works for mom AND baby - breastfeeding is a two way street, after all!
