Morning all, just wanted to chime in and say that I haven't heard any news on TG yet!! If/when I do, I'll fill ya in.
Man is that girl crazy or what with her cake baking in labor. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! No wonder we're friends.
^^Decreased movement (I hardly felt anything even when I was supposed to be feeling her) is how I found out I had low Amniotic fluid.Date: 4/1/2008 12:01:30 PM

Hi Curly!!!! Hope all is well with you, girl!!!
To answer your question.....Fetal movement is one of the best tools for assessment of a baby's well being. Bottom line: a healthy baby moves around, a baby who may be in trouble doesn't move, or the movments are decreased. That's why its very important to make sure that if you feel any change (decrease) in the baby's movement from what you are used to, you should give your doc a call, regardless of whether you are in labor or not. We dont teach patients kick counts until about 28 wks gestation though, because most women dont even feel movement until aaout 18-20 wks. But from 28 wks on, you should be feeling the baby move pretty consistently. Any deviation from the norm (for your baby, since every baby is different) should be reported to your doctor/practitoner right away.

Oooh Vegas, I'm glad you mentioned that... I was told at our NT scan that I had an anterior placenta. The US tech didn't really elaborate, and from what I can find online, it really just means it could be harder to feel the baby kick. But are there any other common complications or issues related to this? I have a doctor's appointment this week, so of course I'll ask him then, just curious about your experience.... was the low amniotic fluid related in any way?Date: 4/1/2008 12:31:12 PM

Dani, I still feel kind of cheated by not being able to feel her, I need to get over it already, LOL. She actually managed to be quite the acrobat (Even now). I just had a hard time feeling her with the low fluid and anterior placenta.
At least I have a healthy daughter now
