Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Hmmm, I think explosive poop was done by 5 or 6 months at least. Then it just gets gross cause they start on more solids.

Are you sure you don''t need a bigger size?

Tacori, go up a size. Seriously. It will contain the poop better. What size is she in? If you don''t want to go up a whole size, you know Swaddlers makes a 1-2 size and a 2-3 size. If you search, you can find them. But that would be my advice. Do it now before she starts sitting up and it all goes up her back!

sometimes it does go up her back (or tummy). She is in 1-2 now....She is just under 12 lbs. LC she is not on solids and it has only become daily since we added more formula....smells worse too

She thinks it''s hilarious

Tgal is SO having a boy!

Have to say that I I''m in the girl camp for Ttot! Sending pink vibes
3.gif

I''d pick up a pack of the next size and try that, Tacori. Worst case is that it does not solve the problem - you will need the next size eventually!

Dang--i keep checking in sure that there will be an update from mara about Tgal.....Hope she isn''t still in labor. I keep thinking more and more about my mom''s 2 day long home birth with me and wonder how anyone survives more than a day. My sister was a comparitively quick 8 hours so i am holding on to hope for something in that time range!

I am feeling okay--my belly feels sooo tight and i am very achey. Normal stuff i guess--i walked around the mall by myself for a while, may head to the gym for one more very light exercise session to try to get things going this evening, I am sick of swimming, the chlorine bugs my skin. Thought i was done with the gym for a while but desperate times call for desperate measures!
I can''t believe tomorrow is 41 weeks

Re: mat leave for 6 weeks is criminal IMO--how can your body even be ready in that short of time!? It would make BF and child care arrangements so challengingI would imagine. Not everyone in canada takes the full year, but it is nice to know it is an option . In this provice the government pays 55% of your wage for the leave and employers may pay the rest for the whole or a portion of your time off--so the other 45% pay is variable depending on who you work for. Teachers are lucky to get almost full pay for the year.

Icekid--as far as I know, Canadians pay less individual tax than americans--i think the government just spends it differently--military/defence spending in the US would be my guess as to the big difference in distribution of funds.

When did TGal start contracting? My water broke early too, and I had about 8 or 9 hours after that before I even started contracting a bit. We aren''t at the 24 hour mark yet, so she''s doing good!!!

Jas12, just so our US friends don''t get too jealous, I think the 55% of wages for maternity leave from the government tops out at $435 per week or about $2,000 per month. Don''t get me wrong, it is good, but not enough to pay the bills in the LitigatorChick household....

Regarding BF and maternity leave: My friend works as a waitress at a pretty nice restaurant. When she returned to work she used to have to go pump in a bathroom stall in the middle of her shift. Her tables didn''t like that too much. She needed to keep the job for her health insurance though. It''s one thing if you''re in an office and have to use a private bathroom or something...but at a restaurant!! How inconvenient, not to mention kind of embarrassing.

I though we''d hear from Tgal by now too!!! ::stomps foot::
I hope she''s doing okay...and I really hope she''s not still in labor!
She probably busy staring lovingly at t-tot and forgot all about us. Can you blame her?

Per wikipedia (so not worth much but I don''t have time to search more now), the taxation rate in the US is 27% GDP while Canada''s in 37%. It says the bottom 50% of Americans and Canadians are taxed at the same rate on income, but we don''t have GST tax that Canada has. And your PST- well, in Delaware where my hubby and I will be living next year, there is no sales tax at all. Anyway, I grew up on the border so there was always a lot of talk about this. Anyway, sorry for the threadjack.....

lucky- I agree we need some better maternity plan. being in medicine, it''s tough for my mommy colleagues too. I have a friend who was back at work 3 weeks after the birth of her second child, and she was pumping at throughout the day... in her exam room! Sometimes in the lockerroom. Man... 3 week old baby, operating all day, trying to pump between cataract removals, long hours. It''s rough being a doctor momma.

We''re waiting Tgal...

I keep checking for an update. I''m sure she''s doing a great job. Can''t wait to hear something!!!!

LC, you are right. I''ll need a size 2 one day!

Re: Labor....wow I guess I was lucky! My labor was only 8.5 hours and would have been a lot shorter if I didn''t have 3 hours of pushing. I guess she took her time but once she decided she *had* to come out everything progressed quickly. I was 10 cm 20 mins AFTER my epi!
23.gif

Tacori, I found the weight guides for diapers deceiving. I had Miller in the next size before the chart said he should be. Generally, if we were having a lot of blow-outs, it was time to try the next size.

Good to know LC! I have a huge box of 1-2 so I hope we can still use them. Maybe put them on AFTER her daily poop.

I''ve been checking this thread obsessively since last night to hear the latest on TGal. I hope all is well and that she and TGuy have met and snuggled with Ttot already.

PLEASE keep posting the adorable baby pictures -- they make my day!

I''m having a lot of ligament stretching today, plus some fibroid pain, so I''ve been a real joy to behold. Also, the Zit Fairy has visited my house, and I have a nice new red constellation on my left cheek to match the older constellation on my right. So lovely.

Wishing all the mamas and mamas to be a Happy April! I can''t believe another month has passed!

Obsessively checking as well!! And Jas, I''ve got my own personal zit fairy over here, so I feel your pain... my forehead and chin sound like they match your cheeks.
14.gif
I am praying it gets better as the hormones adjust!!

And I''m loving the baby pix too!! Keep ''em coming, mommies...

And..... commence refreshing........

I can''t believe I missed out on all the excitement last night! (stupid work
11.gif
)

I can''t wait to see an update on TGal and I hope everything''s going/gone perfectly!!

Jas12 -- go bake a chocolate cake!!
2.gif

I''m so glad TGal did b/c I was thinking how unfair it would be for her not to get it when she''s 40 weeks pg and craving it and then went into labor --- no pg woman should be denied a craving that far along! Go TGal!

jackiejas -- sorry about the constellations (mine are improving, but I had Orion clear as freakin day on my forehead 2 weeks ago --- my 10 year old pointed it out!)
20.gif

Tacori and Diver-- LOVE all the new pics!

Well, i''m not sure if it''s an April Fools joke or what, but I have been able to actually EAT today! I mean more than toast and watermelon -- like unlimited salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden and some beef/mushroom pasta --- OMG, it was the most amazing thing I''ve eaten in 2 months! And I smelled garlic and didn''t die!! I have NO idea what''s up with me b/c I just ate half a box of Easter chocolates I got (ok, oops, but i haven''t been eating much lately.....
17.gif
) I mean, I really hope my babies are ok, but this is GRRRRRRRRREAT!

OK, back to waiting for updates...

Thritto!

TGal''s ears must be burning something fierce what with people ALL OVER THE WORLD (off the top of my head I can think of PSers in US, Canada, Australia, England, Ireland ... ) talking about her for the past 24 hours!

Jen, I am so glad you are feeling better! I remember how rough the first tri was (though I am sure you remember from previous). I don''t envy you! But it sounds like things are looking up.

Me too.
::sigh::
After all the babies are born I have to go back to being a lurker. But I''m having fun for now!!! :)

Man, that was a LOT of reading! I haven''t had time to lurk in the past day or so, so I think I just read about 8 or 9 pages worth of posts. TGal had me cracking up. Yay for TTot!

I''m glad to hear that everyone is doing well. Tacori, Ella, Burk, and Diver: Tessa, Katelyn and Gabe, Tayva, and Delaney are so completely adorable and beautiful! I think I named everyone who recently shared pics of their babies. I''m sorry if I left anyone out.

NO text yet ladies...!!! Could be that with all the birthing excitement, text messaging a pal an 8 hour drive away is not at the top of her priority list, whatever could she be thinking?!?!?! So I have no idea if it already happened, is somehow not happening at all, or in the middle of still happening!

BTW if this IS april fools ... I will be sure to give her a smack on the noggin'' that WILL be heard all around the world!!

TGAL---WHERE R U!!!
9.gif

-she should have never mentioned that Mara would give us an update b/c now we are at the edge of our seats. Good thing she can''t see that we are all bugging her.

Litchick--good point, EI does top out rather low if you are used to making more than 500 a week (which a lot of ppl are!). Still much better than nothing.

Icekid--i am not sure how tax per country is determined. I remember using this chart for one of my classes--but when i google it i see what you see-US rates do look lower:
Taxes
Interesting--i wonder what countries have the best arrangements for parents. I think Scandinavian countries take care of moms rather well??

Tacori-- is it strange that I am looking forward to the day when i can discuss poop blow outs with y''all?! hehe. Poop. Sleep. Food. the stuff motherhood is made of....

.........
I am reallllly hoping labor is just hours away for me--i just went for a quick walk on the treadmill b/c there is a snowstorm raging outside!---my whole body feels like one giant cramp and the baby''s head is killin me--when it turns or presses in my pelvis i get shooting pain down my legs, my bladder and my back. He/she must be engaged?!? I almost feel like i could be in a loooong stage of very early labor. I hear it''s not uncommon to be in early labor for a day or so and feel uncomfortable but still be able to go about the day. I have a 7am NST tomorrow and an exam so maybe they''ll be some change in my cervix!
I am kinda wishin my hospital at least had the *option* of an epi now, b/c i already feel pain and i am not even in active labor yet--sheesh, i am in for it!
40.gif

okay, enough about me--i am so self absorbed right now, i am even annoying myself!

That''s what I love about this thread...the sense of community and caring. It''s great seeing how all the little babies and their mamas are so cared for here! (Pardon me, I''m having a hormonal moment.)
