Dani, I still feel kind of cheated by not being able to feel her, I need to get over it already, LOL. She actually managed to be quite the acrobat (Even now
11.gif
). I just had a hard time feeling her with the low fluid and anterior placenta.

At least I have a healthy daughter now :)
Oooh Vegas, I'm glad you mentioned that... I was told at our NT scan that I had an anterior placenta. The US tech didn't really elaborate, and from what I can find online, it really just means it could be harder to feel the baby kick. But are there any other common complications or issues related to this? I have a doctor's appointment this week, so of course I'll ask him then, just curious about your experience.... was the low amniotic fluid related in any way?

ETA -- Thanks for the update, Mara!! Can't wait to hear more....

Now I'm thinking we REALLY have to have a Philly GTG so I can pass my number along to somebody for text updates when I'm in labor! Guess we've got some time though...
2.gif
(Is this really the kind of thing I need to spend my time thinking about? Haha...)
Thanks Dani!

I think with an otherwise normal pregnancy it doesnt cause any problems. I had a few things going on with my pregnancy. As for the low fluid my daughter wound up having kidney reflux which has cleared up now thank goodness. That probably had something to do with the low fluid.?

YAY TGAL YAY!!! Wishing you a fast and easy delivery! Thank you Mara for checking in and keep us all updated on her progress. I''m guessing Ttot is an Amelia.

Welcome, Gemma! Pregnancy is a crazy journey - is this your first?

Tacori - I love your new avatar photo of Tessa. She is such a cutie petutie.

Katelyn - you and your brother Gabe are such cuties too. Your momma did well - and let her get some sleep, she needs it!

Any other news from our PS''ers that are due any day now?? Send labor vibes your way!

Jess

Hurray for Tgal!! Here's to hoping everything is going smooth.

Thanks Mara for the update....can't wait to hear the news....I think Amelia...and I don't think she'll be 9lbs.

Diver!!! Come on out sweetie; I would love to meet you and your adorable family! I love when people come out to visit and I get to be a tourist and enjoy all the beautiful sights my great state has to offer! You would love it; especially now and we have the best blue sky's, great food, lots of nautral high desert beauty! It would be fun to meet even if it is just for coffee if you are ever in town!

Burk, your baby is so sweet and darling, such a doll!

Ellaila, the twins are such cutie pies! I love them! What dolls!

eta: MSB700, I meant to tell you earlier your son is so handsome!!!

burk: such a cutie!!!

arrrgh!!!! no word?????

ha ha about the april fools. that TG is just so sneaky.

no text yet. i figure i won''t call and harass the poor gal while she''s in labor.

Burk, what a sweetie. We love our bundle me too. Though I took it off b/c it is getting warm here.

Thanks for all the compliments on Tessa. I think she is pretty special
16.gif
We went to the mall today and surprisingly it was my first time *alone* with her in the mall. She did pretty good. I was in VS and the woman said her 5 year old was negative on the weight charts and not to worry. Guess she will be a skinny mini.

Mara, thanks for updating us.

Ella, I should go back and see old pics. It is AMAZING how fast they change. How is K''s weight?

Thanks Skippy, msb and Tacori!

The bundle me is awesome! This weekend we''re finally supposed to have some spring weather so I can take it off hopefully!

Oh man, I can''t believe there are no TGal updates yet. This is a looooooong labor. Hope she''s ok.

Mara, you should totally call her and bug her!
2.gif
No, if she''s really doing this unmedicated, she will probably throw the phone across the room if it rings! Thanks for keeping us posted--I wish she would get in touch with you already!

Ok, while I sit here patiently waiting for news from TGal, I can go back and continue my responses to the other posts.
Unless of course, we are hit again with some more excitements from Jas12 and MrsS
3.gif

Being that she''s TGal''s twin, I wouldn''t be surprised if Jas12 start her contrax today.

Curly, how exciting that you''ll be able to find out the sex of your second one so soon and yay for getting into that honeymoon trimester!

jackiejas, sorry that you had a rough time at the family functions
8.gif
I agree with Jas12 in that sometimes these people think they are being funny with their sly comments. You''ve handled it really well.

Ella, time really does fly. It seems like yesterday when you announced that you are expecting twins. Now they are almost 4 months old.
Yay for Big G mastering the art of rolling over!
36.gif
36.gif
. I''m sure Ms K will follow suit pretty soon!
Katelyn, aren''t you the sweetest little thing? I love your cool ''do
2.gif

Jess, i think you should definitely take the swimming. One of my coworker took it during her third trimester and she loved it. Said that it''s so much easier on her joints. She''s a long distance runner, so the extra weight of the belly was too much for her after a while, but she needed her daily exercise for her adrenaline fix.
I''d take it if I weren''t too change in and out of a swimsuit
41.gif
Anyway, I''m a shortie too -- measuring at 5'', so I know what you mean about baby having only one way to grow --- out!

Burk, love the new pix of Tayva. She looks like such a sweet angel in her blankie.
Sorry you had a rough first day at work? How long were you on mat. leave?

Diver, once again....love those rosy cheeks on D

She''s got the biggest and happiest smile I know.

Hehe, I thought that it could be, but then I figure TGal be shouting "April''s Fool" at the stroke of midnight and wouldn''t have been this quiet.

Thanks Mara for updating us.
Hope we get some good news soon!

Thanks Lili! I was on maternity leave for 10 weeks. Work only pays for 6 and that was what I planned to take but when the time came, I just couldn''t do it so I took 4 unpaid.

I feel for you US working mommies. 6 weeks or even 10 weeks is just not long enough. I took about 9 months, and my firm topped me up to full pay for 4 months. The government then pays you up to about $2,000 a month for a full year.

LC~ are you in Canada? After I read on PS that maternity leave is a year in Canada I told DH we need to move before we have the next couple kiddos!!! 6 weeks isn''t even close to enough!!

Tgal is SO having a boy!

You guys pay a lot of taxes don't you???

That is nice though.

I don''t know how our income tax compares. At our highest tax bracket, which you hit at about $125,000, your marginal rate in my province is about 39%. We have federal sales tax (GST) of 5% and no provincial sales tax. Taxes are great - they pay for all these awesome programs!

I know, Jas12 is in Canada and she gets almost a year off. How nice is that?
6 weeks just go by so fast. I don''t think you even have enough time to recuperate from the labor.
I think US should extend the maternity leave a little bit longer for us working mothers -- at least 12 weeks.

Jas, How are you feeling?

JackieJas (aka Evil Jas) your Jekyll & Hyde commentary had me giggling. You are pretty funny. I wanted to kill a few relatives when I was prego. So insensitive!

LitChick: Yeah, well, ask me again why I don''t work? My old industry was pretty forward thinking (telecom) and I could have taken a year off (and they''d have held my job) but only 6 weeks paid. And then I had a month of vacation/personal days I could have used too, but shoot...if little one gets sick, do you want to use those? I hated what I did for a living, so I figured I''d make a switch later on. But seriously, the lack of maternity benefits in this country sucks. Also, there are little to no job sharing opportunities for professional women other than teaching. If I could job share a few days a week, I would jump on that in a heartbeat once my kids hit preschool. But I have no desire to teach, so to hell with it. Buh-bye career...who needed that fancy private college degree anyway. Makes a GREAT piece of art on my office wall. LOL. In all seriousness, I think my future lies in freelancing once my children are in school. I cannot work with them home, too distracting, and someone needs me every other second.

I want cupcakes. Mara''s dang cupcake thread has me CRAVING cupcakes. And MrsS posted a red velvet recipe. mmmm.....my son would go bananas if I made cupcakes for him. Then Tgal had to go and bake CAKE while she was in labor. All I can think about is cupcakes.

LOL...off to cupcake thread.

The money to pay for such a program has to come from somewhere. Canada definitely has much higher taxes than the States.

HELP! How do I stop these poop blow out?!? They are getting out of control now that she is on more formula. Her diapers are big enough. What am I doing wrong???

Different diapers? My DD was tiny like your Tessa. Pampers and Babies R Us brand worked the best for her. Huggies were bad blow out news for her
38.gif

Tacori, are you sure to do the diapers up tight enough around the legs? I found Huggies to be the best for us. And pack an extra outfit in the diaper bag!!

Good luck with the poop blow-outs - I remember those days.

I use pampers....I''ll check around the legs. It is so gross AND messy! When does it stop? Dreft does a good job getting the stains out at least. Extra outfit check! Though most likely to be from massive spit up. How can such a little thing be SO messy???
