.........
I am reallllly hoping labor is just hours away for me--i just went for a quick walk on the treadmill b/c there is a snowstorm raging outside!---my whole body feels like one giant cramp and the baby''s head is killin me--when it turns or presses in my pelvis i get shooting pain down my legs, my bladder and my back. He/she must be engaged?!? I almost feel like i could be in a loooong stage of very early labor. I hear it''s not uncommon to be in early labor for a day or so and feel uncomfortable but still be able to go about the day. I have a 7am NST tomorrow and an exam so maybe they''ll be some change in my cervix!
I am kinda wishin my hospital at least had the *option* of an epi now, b/c i already feel pain and i am not even in active labor yet--sheesh, i am in for it!
40.gif

okay, enough about me--i am so self absorbed right now, i am even annoying myself!

Hey now -- this is HUGE! Whoo! I''m sending you comfy, fully-faced, soon-you''ll-be-in-a-quick-delivery vibes!

Come on TGal, check in with Mara, we are all on the edge of our seats!!!

You MUST be delivered by now!!!!!

Cant wait for the news!!!!

Thanks for the update Mara. I hope it''s not an April Fool''s joke either. But really the joke would be on her b/c those last weeks of pregnancy ain''t fun!

Geez Jas12, I'd probably keeled over if I go walking on the treadmill at 41 wks!
That's good that you exam is early in the morning....not too long a wait.
I hope something happens for you then, if not tonight.
Hehe, I'm thinking that you may go into labor before your exam like TGal.
Wasn't she scheduled to have a u/s to check on her baby on April 1st to determine if they need to induce her?

I think you should go and bake some of your sweet cupcakes
18.gif
lure your bambino/a out.

Jas12,
I am sorry you are in pain. Good thing you have an appointment first thing in the morning. Hang in there. Hoping Dani chimes in with advice for you. Guessing you are going next!!!

BTW I need a cleaning tip. How do you spot clean poop out of things that cannot be washed? She got some on her travel swing and the cover doesn't remove. Any suggestions?

ETA: Jas12, talking about poop is what life is all about!
2.gif
DH talk about her poop daily (did she, didn't she, color, amount, smell...) such a fancy, elegant life! Sorry you are so uncomfortable. I hope you go into labor really soon. I know how hard it is. I must have missed something but your hospital doesn't offer epis?
23.gif
I know you *want* to go natural but they must have something...just in case...I had to do a non stress test with Tessa. Kinda boring. If your DH isn't going with you bring a book or something. You are hooked up for awhile.

Jas12- I remember when my friend was about a week overdue, she had a doctors appt to see if she as progressing at all. When she got there they told her that they were going to go ahead and induce her! Right then and there! Maybe that will happen to you?

Except, as much as she wanted the baby to come out she didn''t take the news too well. I think that maybe she just really wasn''t expecting it, but she started bawling her eyes out because she was so sad, yet happy that she was going to finally see her baby.

I know, maybe Ttot is already out, but TGal couldn''t text Mara the news because she broke her cell phone when she used it to clunk over TGuy''s head while laboring

Ha, ha!!!! Very true!!!!

eta: Jas12, I am sorry you are uncomfortable....maybe this is early labor for you. Are you feeling any consitent contractions, or is it basically pressure? Labor is different for everyone...Some people have pain, some have pressure, some have both, some feel it in their abdomen, some in their back, etc. Hopefully you made some cervical change, and/or baby's head is engaged.....If you are that uncomfortable, you can talk to your doc about possibly inducing you when you see him or her tommorrow, although I am not sure that's what you want....But, you are almost at 41 wks, so I would imagine they are going to schedule you for an induction this wk anyway some time....Did they discuss this with you yet? If not, I am sure it will be the topic of tommorrow's appt.!!!

I thought for sure after being away all weekend, I''d find some new baby news on here tonight.

Hmm... good luck, ladies (and daddies!!)... we''ll be waiting for the news and praying for happy babies!!

Dani, you must have some GREAT stories.

Lucky, I actually really liked being induce. Maybe b/c she wasn''t expecting it.

NO text yet ladies...!!! Could be that with all the birthing excitement, text messaging a pal an 8 hour drive away is not at the top of her priority list, whatever could she be thinking?!?!?! So I have no idea if it already happened, is somehow not happening at all, or in the middle of still happening!

BTW if this IS april fools ... I will be sure to give her a smack on the noggin'' that WILL be heard all around the world!!

Oh how I would love to hear them!

I hardly talked during my own labor. I was unusually quiet (and it is pretty obvious I am a talker).

I *hate* playing the waiting game for T to wake up so I can nurse. Maybe I should just go pump....

I just had to pop in on the pregger''s thread. I was on yesterday when there was no action....and I just had to go back 4pages!!!

This is so exciting!!!!!!

TGal push away!!!

Dani, come on down to NC! Chances are I am not making it up by you anytime soon though I have always wanted to go to NYC.

louisvgirl, we are talkers

Maybe b/c this thread is kind of two in one (pregnancy and parenthood).

TGAL---WHERE R U!!!

-she should have never mentioned that Mara would give us an update b/c now we are at the edge of our seats. Good thing she can''t see that we are all bugging her.

Litchick--good point, EI does top out rather low if you are used to making more than 500 a week (which a lot of ppl are!). Still much better than nothing.

Icekid--i am not sure how tax per country is determined. I remember using this chart for one of my classes--but when i google it i see what you see-US rates do look lower:
Taxes
Interesting--i wonder what countries have the best arrangements for parents. I think Scandinavian countries take care of moms rather well??

Tacori-- is it strange that I am looking forward to the day when i can discuss poop blow outs with y''all?! hehe. Poop. Sleep. Food. the stuff motherhood is made of....

A Swedish friend of ours said Sweden is excellent when it comes to maternity. He & his wife want to start a family soon & will be moving back there. His wife is from Uruguay. She doesnt seem as excited about it as her husband but I think it''s because of the weather.

I would love to come down to you....Are you far from Charleston? MH and I really want to visit there....Or maybe Scarlet and I (and any other NYC/NJ/PA PSers can take a trip down there for a GTG this summer!!!! That would be so fun!!!
36.gif

Tacori, I like that Tide-to-Go pen. Never tried it on poop, but it got rid of a melted peanut butter cup stain on my Charlotte capris pretty well. And i''m like 99% sure that you don''t need to wash after - it''s a stain remover, not a pre-treat thing. Gabe just had his second poop blowout today too (up the back, ICK), so I think we need to go up a size with his diapers too. Chubbs will be up to size 3s!! According to the weight charts, he should totally be OK in 2s but apparently his tush begs to differ with those charts.

Jas ... whooooooooooo, you''re close too, sister!!! As excited as we all are for TGal, we''re just as excited for you so please don''t think you''re being self-centered by taking about what''s going on -- that''s the point of this thread! Good luck at your appt. tomorrow. I know I don''t need to remind you to keep us all posted ;)

Jen, yay for being able to eat again!
36.gif

Dani, we are 3.5 hours I think. Maybe DS2006 will ride down there with me if we do get something planned. Diver mentioned wanting to go there *wheels are turning* If not, stop here on the way! Asheville is closer....I *think* under 2 hours and Biltmore is AMAZING.

Ella, how much does Gabe weigh now? What about little K? I will have to try the tide to go...that is the only place it has happened (the one thing I CAN''T throw in the washer
20.gif
) Tessa does this funny thing now where she holds her feet when I change her diaper. Kind of makes it easier but her rolling mid-changing does NOT! Such a wiggle worm that one.

Tacori, they have their four-month appt. on Thursday, so I''ll know their weights for sure then, but I''m going to guess Gabe is 14-15 and Katelyn 11-12? I really have no idea though. K just feels like a feather compared to Gabe -- he''s really a heavyweight kid! And I hear ya on the wiggle worm, Katelyn is totally one too. Too bad we''re so far away from each other or our little peanut girl squirmy worms could share clothes
21.gif

I want in on the preggo GTG!

Hey Diver, question for you. Do you ever go out like to lunch with the kids in the double stroller? And if so, what do you do with the stroller when you''re in the restaurant? I had a little tiff with a friend today because she and I had talked about going to lunch and she kept suggesting places like Cheesecake Factory and other mall restaurants and I was like, "Um, NO, that won''t work for me!" Most restaurants like that I imagine won''t let you keep the stroller near the table (blocking the aisles - esp. with a double stroller), and I''m not comfortable with folding up the stroller and just sticking it somewhere in the restaurant where I cant''t keep an eye on it (esp. with my $500+ BOB). I was trying to explain to her that I need to be in a cafe type of place where the tables aren''t nailed to the floor so I can move things around to fit the stroller, but she was giving me this "Well, I see people with double strollers all the time, and they must eat someplace!" attitude. Whatever. (Actually I guess this question applies to all Moms whether you have a single or double stroller, although the double is obviously bigger and more cumbersome/awkward to take into a restaurant.)

Eeeee! How exciting! I'll be checking this thread all evening.
10.gif

Ella, I wish we all lived in the same city. Or at least the same state! K is a month younger than T so that makes T REALLY small. Oh well. I am small. Hoping she would get some of her daddy''s height...guess my genes are stronger
3.gif
. If I am eating with DH he carries her in her car seat (I have done it a few times too) and we put her in their "slings" or slide her in the booth with us. If I am alone I just wheel her in. No one has told me I couldn''t and they usually seat up in a corner table and I just slide her right up to us. CF does have stroller parking but I understand not wanting to leave it. Maybe you can use your S''NG for eating out. I''d just roll your stroller to your table. Most restaurants will not care. I love how I get the huge dressing rooms when shopping now (for the stroller place).

Ok, well I am heading to bed. Its 10pm, and my alarm clock will go off at 4:30 am for work, so I need to get some sleep. Im hoping tomorrow when I log on PS there will be some exciting news here!!!!! Hope all is well, TGal!!!
36.gif
36.gif

WOW! I havent checked the board in a few days because we had house guests and there is so much going on!

i cant wait to hear the news about TGal...I have no experience with water breaking as mine was broke my midwife when i was 10cm and then Ian finally engaged!

jas- i gave birth at 40weeks 6 days...here is hoping you go into labor then as well!

Diver- I am totally in for a GTG at the grove--I was actually just there yesterday! And in case any LA girls dont know...they just opened a balenciaga boutique on melrose!!!

hoping everyone is enjoying their pregnancy and babies! as we sit on the edge of our seats for TGals birth story!

Tacori--nope, no epis at my hospital (except in "outstanding circumstance"s--their words from my prenatal hospital class, not mine, i don''t know what that means). Reason: only like two anasthesiologists (sp?) or something for the whole region--must be reserved for emergencies etc. They do offer some other sort of IV pain med, but i''ve heard it is pretty ineffective whatever it is. I do plan to go natural, but of course this *plan* could change in a heartbeat and i''ll probably get stuck with tylenol of something lol.

Dani--yep, we discuss induction tomorrow. It is an option after 10 days--i don''t want to be induced, but i''ll see how my test comes back first. I don''t forsee any issues--baby is as active as can be. I just feel tons of pelvic pressure and a very tight abdomen, but the tightness does not come and go like a contration would. I was getting cramps at various intervals the other day but they stopped--falsies!
I bet you have awesome stories and have heard some amazing strings of choice language
3.gif
I think nurses have the hardest job in the world--but I know women really appreciate L &D nurses--i hear great things about them all the time. You are part of that group
36.gif

The suspense is killing me!! Where is TTot?!??! Is it Aaron or Amelia? Did TGal go natural? So many unanswered questions, inquiring minds want to know!! It''s like the cliffhanger of a soap opera! But seriously, I hope TGal is ok and checks in when she can. I''m a worrier by nature so I just pray that everything went smoothly for her and she''s just too busy to text Mara. TGal, we''re all thinking about you!!

just a last minute check in to see if there is any news yet from t-gal. I hope all is well and can''t wait for the update on the both of them..

jas12, i''m glad you get to go to your dr. in the morning. I starting having some light cramping tonight but it''s since stopped. i don''t go back to the dr. until friday for my big update and i''m still hoping i don''t make it that long.

We have news!!! The batter for my ''one bowl cupcakes'' is rapidly deflating as I sit here typing this but I had to fill the PS''ers in and not make you guys wait another 10 minutes til cuppies are in the oven!!!

This is from her text:

Amelia Skye was born April Fools Day at 11:32am. 7lbs 2oz by CSection.

She said it''s a long story and she will fill in PS''ers when she returns, she''ll be home on Friday.

YAY! Thanks for waiting everyone...!!! I told her Congrats and that she had everyone on pins n''needles!
