2.gif
jackie, no way you''ve got twins in there. that''s how I looked at about 8 weeks preggo with Jake...no joke
3.gif
you look fab...

tacori, i''m sure someplace would take th diapers back without the receipt. try wal-mat. target is the only place that seems crazy about their return policy.

curlygirl, happy birthday to Lily! and her first steps

...what a mile stone. she looks so cute with that cupcake dress

any of you ladies heard of Dr.Bronner liquid soap? It''s a organic all purpose liquid soap. I used it twice to wash little B.''s bottles and nipple and it has turned the nipple cloudy. The nipples are silicon.

curly...Lily is soooooo cute..Happy B-day to her!!!

Curly,
Lily is soooo cute. Happy First birthday Miss Lily!!!

Morning ladies (afternoon to some of you)...

Tacori, no mother''s day plans. I will leave that in TGuy''s court, but most likely he won''t even remember the date, so I won''t count on it.

Kay, I have a mesh bumper too. You can get them at BRU. Mine is green.

MrsS, I totally agree. As I said, I do not know anyone who actually woke up their kid. Most of my friends were in the feed on demand camp, and their kids turned out fine. However we were on doc''s orders to do so, as Amelia lost 12% weight before she left the hospital (she almost wasn''t discharged, but I pleaded). We worked around the clock for the next couple of nights to feed her...it seemed like she would never wake up to eat and it was so tough because she dozed off during feedings. Of course, she''s plumped right up now! The routine ended up working so well that we kept on until the doc was happy with her weight and of course we have the green light to feed at will at nights now (hooray!). She seems to wake every 3 hours anyway, so it''s all good. Feeding every 2-2.5 hours is very difficult and the first 2-3 weeks were the toughest nights of my life, let me tell you. As my friend (who also has a newborn) said, she didn''t know if she was "Arthur or Martha" and her DH had to remind her she was supposed to be Martha...and I felt the same. Another friend of mine who has a 6 month old always said the newborn stage was easy, but then she saw what I was doing and said there was no way she would ever have been able to do what I did. Apparently she fed her newborn formula once every 4-5 hours and at night on demand...but at nights, her mother helped feed the baby, who usually only woke up once. Hmm...if I could have slept the night through, I would think newborns are easy too!!!

curly, awww...happy birthday to your precious. Love the photos and that looked like a YUM cupcake! I have avoided the cupcake thread here on PS, only to come on the preggo thread and see your yummy eating a yummy!

Bobo, I have not heard of that soap. I just wash the bottles immediately after use in how water and a drop of dawn (I use my fingers to wash and rinse...no sponges or anything like that). So far, so good. I do have an avent sterilizer I got as a hand me down that I will figure out how to use today or tomorrow).

Bobo, I wash all of my bottles, pacis, etc in the dishwasher.

TGal, the first 3 months were the toughest (so far). I think lack of sleep has a lot to do with it and I was doing all the feedings myself. Plus babies are so needy in that early stage and you are still healing and getting used to being a mom. Once Tessa started showing personality it made everything better. Now she gets up once a night to eat and DH feeds her a bottle. It seriously changed my life and I am lucky I have a husband who stays up late and makes his own hours. Now I basically have 12 hours off (from 7pm-7 am). I can paint my nails, relax, read, watch a movie. The point is I have ME time again. I think you will be like me and really enjoy Amelia more in a few months. It is so cool watching T grow up now. She does new stuff weekly. New sounds (she says "Dada" not AT DH but still it is cute) new milestones (she reaches for things, fights to keep a toy, even will take her paci out of my hand to put in her mouth) new movements...it is so gratifying.

MrsS, I got the swim pant b/c my friend said the swim diapers were bad...hmmm....target does have a web coupon right now for the swim diapers.

thanks TGal & Tacori. I washed the bottles every night using Method and use the born free microwave sterilizer. I wonder at what point we can stop sterilizing the bottles and nipples?

I called the company customer service line and they said it''s all natural and it should be fine but they don''t know why it turn the nipple cloudy. I only used the Dr. Bronner soap twice I think I''ll stop since it turned the nipple cloudy and I want to be cautious.

Little B is turning 3 months this weekend so I want to change his nipples to the next stage, do I change it gradually?

Curly~ Happy happy birthday to Miss Lily!!

She is so adorable in her birthday outfit eating her cupcake. And hurray for the first steps!!

Bobo~I use the dishwasher for everything too. Sorry I''m no help.

RE: swimming...Tayva has herself a little bikini for this summer. We are going to be spending a lot of time by the pool. Hopefully I don''t look like a whale by the pool.
9.gif
I was just planning to use the swim diapers too...Tacori, you''ll be able to test before me (our weather isn''t swim weather for a while) please let me know what you like!!

Bobo~what kind of bottles do you use? I tried a faster nipples one night just to see how she did and then when I tried to go to the slower flow the next feeding it made Tayva MAD!!! I would just try it out and see how he does.

Burk, it''s been hot here for the last month. I''ll let you know. Basically the swim pant goes under the suit and it is a washable swim diaper. T has the CUTEST suit from land''s end. I love it.

Bobo, if little B looks like he is having trouble getting the milk/formula out then I would move up. Otherwise I am sure his current ones are fine. I use the ''x" ones b/c rice goes through it really easily. I think mine are by evenflo. You do not have to use Born Free nipples with their bottles. Just make sure you get the wide ones.

Burk, I used Born Free bottle.

Tacori, since his nipples are all cloudy now from washing with the Dr. Bronner liquid soap so I want to switch to new ones. but I don''t know if I should just get all the nipples at stage two or get some stage one and some stage two.

Bobo~Why don''t you just try one at stage two and see how baby B does and go from there?

Burk, I will let little B. try the stage two tonight. Because I''m going to swing by BRU tonight to get nipples to replace all his current one and I want to have enough to take it to my MIL house when I go to work tomorrow. so I''m just debating if I should get all stage two or some one some two.

Bobo, since you have to replace them I would go ahead and get stage two. Try washing your current ones in the dishwasher though. Maybe they are cloudy b/c of soap residue.

Hi All! I had a great trip to Mexico, missed the little guy terribly, but it was fun and great...but I was so ready to come home!

I tried to catch up with everything...but can''t possibly make a bunch of personalized posts. So many cute babies (and cute preggo''s!) I cant believe how big they are all getting. lily is a walking one year old, Tacori has a 6 month old!!! And all the brand new babies are about a month old! Crazy!

As for bottles Ian is 7 month and still on level 2. I tried to introduce level 3 but he spits up it comes out too fast! I use Dr Browns and always hand wash them with 7th Generation. I only boil them when they are brand new and dont sterilize them. I usually dont get a film for about 2 months and then change them. Just my 2cents!!

Jas12, well I will tell you what worked for us....WHITE NOISE! Run that hair dryer/vacuum/shower/anything. it STILL calms T down when she is out of control (which TGal is 100% right b/c it is when she is usually overtired). Swaddling helps (tight, tight), paci, and swing....

The vacuum is pure genius. We had friends over last week with their new 1 month old baby. Baby was out of control crying and my friend asked if we minded turning on the vacuum. We did and within 5 seconds the baby was content and quiet. It was amazing!
We have a relaxing sounds machine that I bought from Target 4 yrs ago.. It has like 8 different sounds and the idea is a constant noise all the time....water, waves crashing, ''white noise'' , crickets, etc. The boys still sleep with this in their room but we keep it really low now. Mostly I still use it bc our house is small, walls are thin and sometimes it is so crazy during their nap with the phone etc I just like to keep it a little quiet for them.

Oh my goodness the avatars of the baby's are so cute! Bobo, love the new avatar!!!

Curly, Lily is adorable!

Mrs. Salvo, Jake is so cute!

eta: sorry, I will try not to pop in here; it is just so hard for me not to comment on how cute they all are

Hi all. Still digesting the news about two boys. This is where 12 years of teaching middle and high school is messing with my head. However, I still love my little men already. We''re working on names. We have definitely decided on Jackson Charles (in DH''s family, the daddy''s first name becomes the son''s middle name). As far as Baby B, I am pushing for Harrison, since DH chose Jackson. We''ll see.

So, I''m thinking that since there are two boys due in September, sapphire earrings are in order. Although I am not adverse to a ring or a necklace. I''m starting to root around. However, they may show up in August, so that means peridot. I''m so excited...I haven''t really been able to think about a nice piece of jewelry since I got my engagement ring (which I did not pick out)...it''s embarrassing for a PSer to admit, but this will be the first time I will be making a quality (rather than just "funky") jewelry purchase for my own! Whoo!

Skippy -- don''t stop popping in -- I adore you! Thanks for your sweet comments. Tell WWT to get ready for me later this summer!
Curly -- Happy first birthday! She''s beautiful! I love the cupcake shot! You reminded me that in my family, the first birthday is the first time babies get cake...that''s something fun! Yea on first steps. Oh my, I remember reading all about this little one!
Q -- best of luck on the one hour test. It''s not fun, but it''s certainly not the worst test I''ve taken so far. I just hated the yukky orangey drink. Stay positive. Hooray on baby kicks!
Thanks Kay!
Thanks Kaleigh -- I can''t thank you enough for starting this thread. I could wait to share the Team Blue Times Two news!
Burk -- thanks. I was pretty sure there was one boy in there...I just wasn''t sure about the other one. It''s a little overwhelming right now.
Tacori -- I''ve heard a lot of complaints about Luvs. You aren''t being a snob...who wants to use a diaper that doesn''t work? Ugh. Mommy''s sanity is so much more important! No Mother''s Day plans other than to go out with my mom (and DH with his family...glad I''m not going to that)...DH actually says I don''t get to count this Mother''s Day as a mom. Stinker...so logical.
Mrssalvo -- thank you for your sweet words. I think I actually look more pregnant from the front these days...my placentas are both anterior and pushing out...my belly is expanding sideways rather than out. How are your three little ones doing as a family?

Just waiting for the workmen to leave for the day so I can make a strawberry rhubarb pie! Yummo!

Ah, thank you, I adore you too and that you always make me lol w/your cute funny posts in the WWT.

I will be sure to let the WWT know!!!

MsF, glad you had a good time! That is how I felt about coming home too. Did you feel like Ian changed while you were gone? I swear Tessa did.

Sophie, I bought a baby sound thing but it wasn''t loud enough for my little monster.

Jas, picking out my PP was very fun! I can''t wait to show it off
2.gif
Glad you can avoid your ILs this weekend. BTW you TOTALLY count as a mom! You are growing life as we speak!

Skippy, PS babies ARE the cutest!
2.gif

BTW I finally used my chicco stroller today. I decided to take her for a walk so she was sitting (left car seat at home). She fell asleep of course and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get her out w/o waking her. Guess I''ll stick to the SNG as long as possible.

Tacori, did u sterilize the bottles and nipples after washing it in the dishwasher?

Thanks for the info. msflutter

Thanks Skippy! don''t stop popping in...stay and enjoy more PS babies pixs.

Bobo, my dishwasher sterilizes them (I have a button but I am sure as long as you wash in hot enough water all of them do). When we do hand wash them we just use really hot water. I am sure they aren''t "sterilized" but nothing has happened. I use regular dishwasher soap.

Tacori, I never know dishwasher has that function. well we don''t use dishwasher maybe that is why
9.gif

bobo, you are missing out girl! Mine actually has button that says that. You can get little baskets (target, BRU) that are made for baby stuff (holes for the nipples, basket for pump parts, rings, extra do dad for straws and baby spoons. Use top rack only. Dishwashers are a wonderful invention. Do you not have one?

We''ve had major movement on the nursery front
36.gif
DH got the twin bed outta here and we went and looked at paint. I was originally thinking yellow but I really like sherbert orange or a light teal-blue. The rest of our house is neutral so I really want something with color. I need to decide because he''s gonna paint the next weekend his mom has off (either this one or next) so I can stay with her and away from the fumes. Then our next step is moving the computer desk to the living room and moving the dresser into our room. So much to get done!

I love the baby and preggo pics! Keep them coming! I need to get some new belly shots of me - although it seems I grow a bit more each day.

Sleeping is starting to get really uncomfortable. My hips have been achy and my lower back hurts by the end of the day. I always have hubby give me a rub down with lotion so that helps but I''m still not sleeping well. I have the strangest dreams ever! They are so real and sometimes really scarey!

We got a letter from the atty representing the estate our house belongs to yesterday with an offer for us to purchase the place. I consulted with an atty in my office and she''s going to write up a letter as a response so hopefully it goes well. Our rent money is supposed to go towards the purchase price (as a down payment) so we are really banking on that as far as getting qualified for a mortgage goes - especially in this sucky market.

Jess

Diva, sounds like things are coming along. As long as DH opens the window and you aren't spending a lot of time in the room while he is painting you should be fine. Do you have your bedding picked out? I think that is always the best way to start.

I remember the uncomfortable sleep. Only recently is it comfortable (if you BF they can be very uncomfortable when baby starts going longer at night in between feedings). How sweet of your husband! I don't think DH rubbed my back ONCE during my pregnancy
20.gif
He gets off so easy...he has no clue.

ETA: good luck with the house!

Mommies - Did/Are any of you doing baby journal? Which one are you using?

Q, I had a belly book when preggo (loved it! Though I STILL need to put in a few pics) and a baby calendar which is so much easier to use than my baby book. It comes with cute little stickers that says "reached for an object", "doctor''s visit", "new food", "first bath", "special day" etc so it is fast to update.

Tacori, we''re renting my sister''s condo and they have a really old dishwasher in there which I don''t know how to use so we just use it as drying rack.

Diva, ahh..the uncomfortable days I remember them...achy everywhere. Not fun, good thing you have a sweet DH to rub ur back.

Qutiekiki, we don''t have a baby journal, we use a baby calendar.
