That''s too bad, but best to get her baby out safe and sound. Best of luck to her. Sending love and prayers to her for a speedy recovery. If she needs any support, I''ve had 2.

neatfreak--that is really weird--i like her names, maybe she is on to something!

MrsS--can''t wait to see pics of your sister''s babe

For all the preggies who are experiencing MS right now--may help to know it''s a good thing

Morning Sickness

Gemma, I can''t wait either. Hopefully I will have it next week. This is my PS gift!

Diver, love the watch! You deserve it!

MrsS, give that new baby a kiss from us (and the new mama as well!)

Mrs.S,prayers for your sister!

Jackie, bedrest? ugh!!! so sorry!

Interesting article Jas...

That is a gorgeous watch Diver...congrats on it...although I have to wonder what your DH did!

MrsS, congrats to your sis! Man, I really do have to wonder about pitocin...what is it about that drug? The story is repeated so often...pitocin, then baby in distress, then c-section. I don''t think Amelia had any troubles in there until they started me on the drugs. Either way, the most important thing is that the baby is safe and sound! Can''t wait to see pics...

Tgal! Love the Amelia photos, esp. with her full cheeks...what a lover!

MrsS: Jake looks so sweet in his blankie, what a sweet boy.

Elailla: Love your mommy necklace....anyone seen the ones by Mountain Girl Silver? I''m ordering one of those...where did you find yours?

Diaper rash question: Delaney has the WORST dipe rash. It''s just popped up in the last 24 hours...her poor labia are all red, swollen& ouchie...she SCREAMS bloody murder at diaper changes. Desitin is NOT working. I''m putting something like Aquaphor on it now, not working. I''d like to take her outside naked for fresh air, worked for Jake when the same thing happened to him, one hour on the deck & he was all better, but he was also 1 and walking...she scoots on her belly, so she''d be draggin'' those girl parts on the ground...she won''t hold still long enough for me to hold her either. I could try to get her to nap naked on my lap on a stack of towels maybe....but its been pouring rain, so I''m kinda screwed.

arghhh!

any advice?

Ok, i''m on page 271, bbl with more babble...

Diver, we haven't encountered diaper rash yet, but I read about different products and "butt paste" or something to that effect seems to keep popping up. Ever heard of it? The mommies say it's the best.

Here it is...found it:

http://www.buttpaste.com/BLButtPaste.php

ETA, they sell it at BRU, I see.

neat freak: holy cow! Congratulations!!!! That is amazing! So many twins on PS, its kind of freaky, but very very very cool! You are doubly blessed!

my leftshift key keeps popping off and my space bar is jacked up...i need to take this thing infor a cleaning,i can barely type!!!

dang....

Tgal; oh he just acted like he was a martyrd saint for watching his own kids for a few hours and i guess delaney fussed a bit, so of course it was the hardest day ever for a man in the history of all mankind.

then he whined about his sinuses and tried to blame it on that, but he had no knowldge of where his meds were (same place ive kept them for 5 years.....) and then he was so ugly to me, that i had to yell at him (i don''t yell as a rule, so i think it scared him) to basically stop being such a g.d. woman and man up and stop whining. he''s really been more than i can handle lately. big baby. i mean, gawd...if you aren''t bleeding to death or puking your guts out, take care of kids already! shoot...tgal has an injured back & she''s still managing....a lot shorter than before, but managing...now if that was my dh or tguy, we''d have to have them lifeflighted to safety!
20.gif

this from the guy who has never had to get up with this child once in the night. he can bite me. so he called me after he opened my email and laughed...he said his goal is to be sitting next to me at our daughters wedding instead of having to sit one or two pews back (like my mom did to my dad at my wedding), and that if a watch kept me from calling our friend''s divorce lawyer, that was all good. (all said in jest of course, our friend always threatens her moms excellent divorce atty when her dh acts up....her mom did REALLY well...so she likes to scare the guys...i on the other hand, never use the D word...i just wanted a watch!!!! lol) But he got off so cheap....that watch was a friggin steal...too cheap to tell...but what i wanted, so it doesn''t matter how little or how much it cost.

So that''s the diluted version...it was a lot more than that...and i have an appt with him to see an ENT specialist, he has had chronic sinusitis or something. Of course...I called our pcp, i got the referral, i called the ENT, i arranged the appt. Do i have to wipe his hiney too?

lol....

btw...guess who is in bed with me right now? Delaney....poor fussy girl, i think its her dipe rash...she napped in my arms today...ok by me, i don''t get enough of her now that all she wants to do is play and wrestle her brother.

i will try the buttpaste tomorrow...they also sell it at my markets by my house....

LOL Diver...your man is not alone.

I had an incident with TGuy over the weekend. Now, he has normally been great. He helps me when he can, and plays with her more often than I thought he would. In the early weeks he finger fed her with the SNS and took shifts so I could sleep.

But over the weekend, I had to run a quick errand so he said he'd watch her. I warned him before I left "she's due for a feeding soon and hasn't napped that well this morning, so don't take it personally if she's cranky."

Well, I come home to him feeding her. He tells me she "lost it." He complains that when he does something she doesn't like it. He actually took it PERSONALLY that she cried because she was hungry and was upset with her the WHOLE day and was in a bad mood. I think he knew how ridiculous it was but couldn't help being upset by it. I tried to reason with him, reminding him that I had warned him that she was due for a feed and a nap, and his knee jerk response was that I should have done something about it before I left.
20.gif
Well, before I left, he had taken her on his lap and was trying to have some bonding time with her (as he's seen me do) and she seemed fine. I guess that was why he was so upset...all he wanted to do was spend a little quality time with her and she chucked a fruity on him.

I worry that the more he's anxious that their bonding time won't go well, the less he will bond with her, and the more she won't care to be with him. But I'm sure as she gets more interactive, things will change. She's been a bit cranky with me lately as well, so I have to remind him that babies go through phases and she doesn't know him well enough to hate him now...THAT will come LATER.
3.gif

Diver, I used to think DH drugged T when I left. She was always an angel for him. He always says "wish he could just play with the baby all day and not have to work"...ummmmm....yeah me too. She *IS* work!!!

Triple paste works pretty good. I have tried them all. I like the texture of butt paste but I don''t think it works better than destin.

PSA for the day...drinking water can hurt babies under 6 months...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24760916/
Sounds like just a lot of water in a bottle. I gave Miller water in a sippy cup from about 8 months, esp if he was teething and enjoyed the cold water. Now, all he gets is milk and water - I am an anti-juice nazi. Any other moms out there, or am I alone is being a juice avoider (I know I get weird looks for this particular stance).

ERGH. I just lost my big long post.

OK, so starting over ...

I've got a hubby vent too! Let me preface this by saying that hubby is a smart man. So the fact that he would do something like this just blows my mind. The other day, Gabe was chucking a major fruity, so my bro (who was visiting) and I decided to take him out for a drive to calm him down and get him to nap. So Daddy was going to be home watching K. *Watching* K. So we come home after an hour+ and find K in her pack and play ... and no Daddy in sight. Not in the house, not on the deck, or in the yard, or in the basement, OR ON OUR PROPERTY AT ALL. I start yelling for him, and after like two or three minutes, I see him come out of our neighbor's garage. Are you kidding me?! You left a six-month-old baby alone in the house so you could borrow a tool?! If he was so far from the house that he a) couldn't hear me yelling for him and b) couldn't see the house (he was diagonally across but inside the garage so totally blocked) then obviously he wouldn't be able to hear K if she started screaming or see if anyone tried to enter the house (the screen doors were unlocked). I was LIVID. Like unable-to-speak kind of mad. He was like, "What? She was fine. She was happy in the p and p." Oh dude. DUDE. You do not leave a baby alone in a house, period. Needless to say, he got a good talking to (once I was able to speak) and knows to NEVER do that again.

Diver, love the watch! And love that you sent your hubby the conf email to tell him -- brilliant! You kinda scare me, but in a good way
2.gif
I haven't seen the necklaces you mentioned but will check them out. Mine is from Wendy Papagan. Poor Daners with her sore bum. Diaper rash blows. K gets it (she's a major pooper), and thankfully Desitin works for us. I've heard good things about Triple Paste also. And yes, from what I've read, sunning that tush in some fresh air is the best thing!

NF, OK, that child is freaky!!!!

Burk, ohhhh poor Tayva. I get so sad when I read your posts about her troubles. I know how horrible it was for us to deal with, and it sounds like hers is much worse than ours ever was. I hope you can manage to get her seen before June 11. I think you need to talk to the dr. on the phone in the meantime, not just the secretary. I can't imagine a doctor wanting to wait three weeks if he hears that she's not eating. Keep us posted!

Funny thing about that "bump day" ice cream is that preggos aren't supposed to eat soft-serve ice cream! Funny article here. (Hmm, this makes me think that my "Eat DQ if you feel nauseous" advice the other day wasn't so sage after all! I didn't have m/s at all so I didn't do the DQ-to-feel-better thing when I was pregnant, just when I feel queasy in general.)

So my little (er, BIG - almost 17 lbs!) man had his penile adhesions corrected yesterday. We just went in for a consult with a new urologist and he was like, "Let's fix it today" so we did. Gabie was such a trouper!! He's doing well today, though I gotta say that his little peeper isn't looking so pretty. But it had to be done. I feel like such a veteran mommy now that I've had to go through not just vaccinations but also a steroid injection, an upper GI, and now this with my babes. I swear each thing has been harder on me than on them!

Looking forward to the news about MrsS's sister and new niece

Hi all...I didn''t get any pics last night. Baby Adena was in the nursery getting her bath and my sister was still recovering and not feeling so photogenic so I thought I''d wait until today. I''m taking the kids over in a bit to meet their new cousin. The little darling was 7 lbs 15 oz and 19.5 inches. Her cord was wrapped around her neck and everytime my sister had a contraction it pushed the baby down the birth canal but the cord tightened causing the heartrate to drop and keep her from moving on down. Also, baby was face up. So, a C-section had to happen pitocen or not. T-gal, i agree, lots of stories of pitocen and C-sections. I had pitocen with 2 of mine though and had a VB both times, maybe I just got lucky. I have to say it was a little scary for a minute. the baby''s heartrate was so erratic and dropped on the monitar well below the red lines...something Jake''s never did while I was in labor. the alarm kept going off too which doesn''t help. But, all is well, my sister is doing great and the baby is just beautiful and healthy.

diver-love the watch..

tgal-i think tguy will bond when amelia''s a bit older. My girls are Daddy''s girls now but as babies he had a harder time comforting them and getting them to settle down. They just didnt'' respond to him the same way. Even jake will get fussy for him and as soon as I take him he calms. I think babies just know their mommies
16.gif
I think it''s cool he wanted to stay home alone with her..

Ella- glad you talked to you hubby and so glad K is ok. I''m sure he thought that fact she couldn''t get out of the PnP that she''d be fine but out of the house is too far to leave a baby.

Aww, welcome to the world, Adena!! Pretty name
21.gif
Sorry that your sister went through such a rough time with the delivery MrsS, but as long as the final result is a healthy baby, then all''s well that ends well. Can''t wait to see photos of the new little princess!

And even though your sis isn''t on PS, Adena is still a PS baby by relation so I know she''ll be gorgeous!

thanks ella

Adeda is named after my sister''s hubby''s grandmother. it''s pronounced Adina...they will probably call her addy...

Tgal; i had pitocin with both my inductions and had nice fast vag births. in fact i had my pitocin for HOURS before i ever got my epidurals and didn''t find the contractions bad at all. after my water broke was when my contrax amped up. with both kids, once i had my epidural, i FLEW from 2cm to 10cm in record times. With jake in about 4 hours and with Delaney about and hour and a half. And jake had dipping heart rate cuz my cord was wrapped 2x around his neck. But my ob did a mini-vacuum assist and he popped right out, so i avoided a c...but if the baby was sunny side up, well poor mrs.s sis had a few things stacked against her.

Tacori--congratulations on bfing for so long....i''m really proud of you!

Ella--don''t be scared, i''m really very nice, just don''t f with me. lol....

my poor baby was up all night with the runs, i changed more diapers. i''m calling her ped as soon as they open...her poor bottom is all red.

Hi ladies - it's been a while since I've been back on here.

Congrats on all the new mommies-to-be!

Congrats neatfreak on having twins! You must be so excited!

Mrssalvo - Congrats on your sister having baby Adena. Can't wait to see her picture!

Everyone's babies are so adorable and I really can't wait until I am pregnant again and have one of my own.

I have a quick question for all the ladies who have have a D & C. How long did it take for you to get your period after that? I am on CD 67 and have yet to get mine still. I went to the doctor's office on May 9th and she did an exam, saying everything looks normal. She gave me a presciption for Provera (progesterone) for 10 days to help jump start my period. I finished the last pill on Sunday and hopefully should start within the next couple of days. They also did a blood test to see what my HCG level was at. I found out that my HCG level was still at 23 at almost 8 weeks after my D & C. They made me go back in on this past Monday to take my blood again, and my HCG level is at 13. They want to follow up again next Friday to see if I am back down to 0.

Is this normal what I am going through? I don't understand how it can take so long for my body to get rid of the pregnancy hormone. I definitely don't feel pregnant one bit and actually haven't felt that way since a week post D & C. I've read that 4-6 weeks is the norm to get your period after a miscarriage, but I am way past that average now. Never in my life have I ever wanted my period this badly. I just want to move on from this devastating experience and I feel like once I do get AF, I can officially move on. I'm just so tired of dealing with this, and everyday that AF doesn't show up is an instant reminder that I lost our baby.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Thanks Tgal, snlee, lili,Gemma and Ella! We are going to see her regular pedi today (4 month check-up) and will be asking him to call the allergist to work her in earlier. Hopefully that works! Tayva is barely eating. (less than 20 oz in a 24-hour period). It is stressing me out. I am not eating much and I am struggling to focus on teaching while my daughter is having a rough time at the babysitters.

Ella~ Gabe is quite a trooper!! You''re experiencing everything! What a tough mommy you are!

MrsS~Congrats to your sister!! I love the name.

that watch!! My DH has been a PITA lately....hum....

Sorry Delaney isn''t feeling well. I can totally relate to sad baby. NO FUN!!! Hope she feels better soon.

Gotta go see what my students are up to......be back later.

RadiantGirl I just wanted to reach out and tell you please hang in there. I had a blighted ovum and d&c in october 2007- Sorry if I am repeating myself to you... But I remember all too well how hard it was and I took awhile to feel better. I did get my AF about 6 weeks after my d&c but unfortunately everyone is different. I am glad your Dr. is being proactive and will help to jumpstart your cycle. I have read other stories of women whose hcg level did take a while to come down, so that doesn''t seem out of range for ppl. I hope you get AF soon so you can get started and move on. Hugs to you!!!!

Thanks pavelover - Thanks for the comforting words and the hugs. Congrats on your bfp! I haven''t been keeping up with this thread, but how are you feeling since your bfp? Have you seen the doctor yet? I know the next time I get pregnant, I will be on pins and needles the whole time. I am hoping everything will go well for you this time and that it sticks! Keep us posted!

radiantgirl~I am so sorry you are dealing with this. It has to be frustrating. I have no personal experience with what you are going through but my SIL did. She was going in for weekly blood draws for almost 2 months to check her levels and didn''t end up getting her period until like 3 months after her D & C. Hang in there!

diver, love the watch...

Ella, I will be piss if DH left little B at home alone even if he is secure in the crib. You are such a strong mom, glad G is doing well. How''s K''s little red bump?

MrsS, so glad baby Adena is here safe and healthy. little B had cord wrap around his neck also, every time I had a contraction his heart rate will drop. When the nurse told me this the expression on her face didn''t really help a lot so you can say I was pretty freaked out and my only concern was to get little B out quick and safe.

Burk, I''m praying for you that Tayva will get to see the allergist before the 11th. I know how frustrating it is to see the baby not eating. little B is on some kind of feeding strike...It''s a battle at every feeding.

Hey everyone!!

Ella -- Glad Gabe''s little fix-up went well (poor little guy, though!!) I was SO angry with your DH when i read your post -- I just don''t get men''s logic very much!!! Very glad to hear he will NEVER pull that stunt again! (I fear my DH will do the same thing one day...) Funny, she probably never knew the difference... ;)

Diver -- LOVE the watch!!! (I''m jealous, but i kill watches so i will never have a nice one...)

Radiant -- hang in there! I have had more m/c''s than I care to think about, but I also have 3 beautiful boys and now the twins on the way (which happened immediately after a chemical pg) --- I hope with your next pg you can enjoy it and not be too on edge...odds are in your favor that it will work! Looking forward to having you back on this thread....:)

Well, I just got back from my appointment and the babies were pretty darned cooperative! Unfortunately the disc of pics they gave me isn''t working (only 4 pics are coming up and the rest are gray with just a tiny edge of pic), so the u/s tech said she''d make me a new one and i can pick it up when i want. I''d head over there now, but i''ll be right by there in the morning, so i guess i''ll attempt to be patient... So quick question -- do you want me to post "parts" ultrasound pics or just the babies'' profiles? I don''t mind doing either b/c i remember scouring the internet for gender u/s''s beforehand so i''d know what to look for in case the tech wouldn''t tell ;)

I''ll just start by saying THANK YOU for all of the pink vibes, but you all may have overdone them a bit as we have

2 GIRLS!!!!

in here!!! One definitely looks like girl parts but the other one was just not that obvious to me other than a total lack of ding-a-ling! (heehee) Since I''m very familiar with boy parts i can confirm that there were none present... I''m looking forward to my 19 wk big u/s b/c we''ll get better confirmation there, but the tech said she''d put money on them being 2 girls! Talk about being in shock... I actually braced myself for 2 more boys --- and DH is still recovering!! I feel really bad he didn''t get his boy, but i think he''ll make an awesome dad to girls! They both look great and when i get the new disc, i''ll post their pics. Also, we HAVE decided to not tell people in real life (thank goodness i have you guys to share it with!!)

ok, bbl!

jen

Congrats Jen!
36.gif
TWO girls! That's wonderful news! I am so excited for you! Have you told your boys? Are they happy? I'm surprised you found out so early! Are you 16 weeks now? I look forward to seeing the u/s pictures - parts, profile, whatever you want to share!

radiantgirl, I don''t have any experience with what you''re going through so I can only imagine how frustrating and difficult it is. I am sending you lots of positive thoughts and hugs. Hang in there!
