Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

lili~She may be like your niece and start rolling to her destination too! Right now she scoots when she''s on her tummy trying to get to her toys.

Gemma~Thanks. So cute that your bf reacted that way. That''s fun.

Ella~Happy birthday!! The first time I went out to run errands after Tayva was born (without her) I felt so weird...not the preggo lady, not the lady with a baby, just me. Yep, I felt naked too.
2.gif

Jess~Happy birthday!! Can''t wait to see pics of the nursery!

Pave~Hurray for your first shopping excursion for the maternity/baby stuff. I was all about baby shopping from day one, but waited until the last possible second to buy maternity clothes. I still can''t go shopping without buying Tayva something.
3.gif
And, thanks so much for asking about T. She has been much, much better lately. We still have an appointment with an allergist next week because she still has some reflux things and a couple possible allergy symptoms so we figure better safe than sorry, but for the most part she is a very happy baby.
36.gif

Jen~Thanks!

snlee~Happy half way point!! Before you know it, you''ll have your little guy in your arms.
21.gif

tacori~What? The photographer won''t email you back? Have you called? We NEED to see some professional Tessa pics!
2.gif

Curly~Thanks! Lily sounds like a joy. I so wish we all lived close so we could all meet each other''s little ones. I think Lily would put a smile on all of our faces.
2.gif

Diver~Sorry about the watch. Glad you''re able to return it! We will need pictures of the new one!
3.gif

Happy b-day to Ella.
Ha, cute story about the blood type Ella.
Anyway, you look great. You don''t look a day over 30.

Happy b-day to Jess.
Hope all goes well with the nutritionist.
Wow, can''t believe you and QT are in the single digit weeks already.
Yup, that all sounds very familiar about the babe being in your ribcage.
It''s especially bad when you sit for a long time.
I find that it helps if I stretch every now and then.

You got to post pix of your nursery.
The color sounds cool and delish
41.gif

While you are at it, a pix of your belly would be nice
2.gif

Bummer about the photographer Tacori
15.gif

With a subject as adorable as Tessa, her pictures will come out great regardless of the photographer

pave, Qtiekiki, ellalia, lili, Skippy, Burk, Gemma, Kay, Diva, curly, and diver (I hope I didn't miss anyone!),

Thank you all so much for the welcome!
9.gif
And thank you all for weighing in on my wanting a second 1st trimester ultrasound. I've relaxed a bit more since I last posted, but I don't know that I'll be as relaxed say, tomorrow, as I am today. I'm supposed to speak to someone tomorrow about changing an appointment date, and I think I'll ask her how many u/s my insurance covers.

If I don't end up having another one until my 12.5w NT scan, DH and I are going to look into renting a doppler. I'm sure it's been discussed before, probably deep in this thread, but has anyone done this? I found a place where you can rent one for a month for $44, which is a steal, IMO.

ETA: ellalia- the woman you saw walking the pugs wasn't me. I live all the way across the country. Now, if diver spotted someone walking two pugs, THEN it might be me.

The thing with the doppler is that you can''t always find the heartbeat on your own from what I have heard...so it seems to me it would cause potentially unnecessary stress and anxiety...also you can''t really hear the heartbeat with it until at least the 10th week, so don''t rent one until then at least!

I''ve heard that it''s best to wait until week 10 to use the doppler, so we definitely will. And I''m still researching the safety and pros and cons, so it isn''t a done deal, I just thought it might help ease my mind a little. Guess it could potentially stress me out too, huh? Blah.

I just know that it would stress ME out if I thought I was supposed to be able to hear the heartbeat(s) and then couldn''t find it on my own one night! Which apparently is pretty common with the at home dopplers.

But if it''ll ease your mind and it''s safe, why not.

Renting a doppler sounded intriguing but we decided not to. I didn't want to stress out if I couldn't find the baby's heartbeat. I know JackieJas rented one so maybe she could share her thoughts. Check out Belly Beats, they have rentals for $25 a month with free shipping both ways. Seems like a good deal.

lili, is that a professional picture of J? So adorable!

Burk, yay for Tayva rolling over!

Question about back pain. I know low back pain is common during pregnancy. How about mid to upper back pain? My back has been killing me, especially in the afternoons and nights. I've been trying to do lots of stretching, practice good posture, use heating pad. Anyone else experience this?

I rented a doppler from Belly BEats and LOOOOVED it. (but I was a two time loser, so it was sooo nice to listen to D''s heartbeat whenever I wanted, which wasn'' often, oddly enough....I think having it just made me feel better..worth every penny) But fortunately, my girl was always in the same spot, and I read the directions, listened to the CD they include that teaches you what the sounds are so you don''t get befuddled. I never spent more than 2 seconds finding the heartbeat.

Ebree- Welcome! i somehow missed your earlier post. the thread moves so fast these days and i just skim it!

Lili- have to agree the avatar pic is gorgeous. look at all that hair! Ian probably wont have that much till he is 2!

Ella- I couldnt agree with you more about having children changing your identity. Its as if the person I was without him, isnt there anymore, and its in a good way, but hard to explain! But happy birthday!!

Pave- shopping while pregnant is just the beginning! I loved shopping for maternity but my new obsession is shopping for the baby. no matter what everything looks great on him! I think you said your in the palm dessert? I may be going this weekend, some friends own a house there, but it just seems too hot to deal with!

Everyone else, enjoy your pregnancy and babies, and i promise i will write a real, detailed post soon. goodnight!

Diver, sorry about your watch! What a bummer. Hope you like the Overstock one better.

Gemma, I know I am so excited!!!

Lili, I didn''t know about the blue! Cool! Part of my wants to buy those two (for next time) but that just seems silly. Do you like the new style (one big open space)? You are sweet. I might just take her to one of those photography baby mills.

Burk, glad your T is doing better. Poor baby! I haven''t called (I am bad at making phone calls!) I should but I kind of feel like for some reason she is blowing me off.

Ebree, you will probably have to talk to your insurance co not doc''s office for your coverage info. I had to do this for the AFP...such a pain. I haven''t stopped worrying since I saw that faint second line
2.gif
part of motherhood I guess.

Snlee, my doc said upper back hurts early on, lower once your belly gets big. My upper hurt too my first tri.

Oh I forgot to complain....that usually never happens
1.gif
So I thought T was teething b/c she got SOOO fussy last night and was crying through out the night. I am so tired. DH and I took turns rocking her to sleep. She is usually a good sleeper. I felt the bottom gums and it does feel sharp so we gave her some teething tablets. Not sure how much they worked. She woke up screaming nonstop. No teeth today. How long do they take? (please don''t say weeks per tooth
24.gif
)

Mornin'' ladies. I am way behind on this thread, but I thought I would post some pics from Miller''s 2nd birthday party that we had on the weekend. As you can tell from these pics, it was mainly an "adult" party...

And another...

Oh bummer about the watch, Diver
38.gif
Glad you found another - better! - one though!

Oh Tacori, I feel your pain -- we've got two teethers here. They don't seem to care for teethers (rings, gummy fishy things, etc) whatsoever, but they both love sucking on frozen washcloths. I'm using the tablets too (Hyland), and it seems to calm them temporarily at least, but I'm not sure how effective I think they'll really truly be. Katlelyn is taking it much worse than Gabe - it sucks. She's fine all day long - eats and naps just fine - but then as soon as bedtime rolls around, it hits her. Hard. They've both got swollen gums and I can see the little teeth under there, but nothing sharp poking out just yet. I too am praying that it happens quickly!! So I'm sending quick teething vibes your way if you'll send 'em back this way for us!

EBree, a friend gave us her doppler thingie, and it sucked and totally stressed us out b/c we could never find the heartbeats! But I think this one was like a toy or something because it was just bad. I know Jackie's had luck with hers though and sounds like Diver did too, so I guess it can go both ways. But just be aware that it does have the potential to make a worrier even worse!

OK, just a quick post for now ... later!

ETA: posting at the same time, LC, but eeeeeeee, I love your little man!!! And WOW, what bling he's got
2.gif
And I LOVE that hoodie! Is that from Knuckleheads?

Pics of my "mommy" necklace from Mountain Girl Silver. Love her stuff....Jake''s design is called triangle sun. I always sing him you are my sunshine and he loves triangles..lol.

SMILERS!!!

Ella, teething dust sent in masses
1.gif
I feel so bad for her.

Diver, D is so cute!!!! Love the necklaces too.

curly: your description of lily''s conversations with you is sooo touching--I can''t wait to have a girl! Thanks for all your help too. And I''d love the referral on what mattress you chose for your baby italia :))

ebree: i had a doppler and really liked it (I bought mine though). It''s important to choose one that''s decent quality (3mhz strength) and then you shouldn''t have any problems finding the hb. At least i didn''t...maybe it took a few minutes one or 2 times, but mostly it was just 30secs. It helped calm me whenever I had a freak out, especially those early days. Even now, if I get worried about no kicks, i can turn to it for reassurance. Lots of ladies don''t have them, so it''s not a necessity, but if it''s something that sounds good, go for it! Ebay is a good place to start.

Quick check in -

Tacori and anyone else who owns a Chicco car seat - you're probably not affected but just in case, FYI.

Chicco USA, Inc., (Chicco), has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some of the bases for KeyFit and KeyFit 30 child restraint systems and Cortina Travel Systems manufactured between February 26, 2008 and March 17, 2008.

Go here for more info on the recall.

Thanks snlee, I checked mine and it was made in 2007 so I am okay.

Ella and Tacori~Darn teething. I am so sorry your little ones are dealing with that. Tayva''s have been flaring up at times (just swollen) but nothing actually sharp yet. I hope all these babies get through it fast. It''s so hard to see them in pain.
7.gif

Tacori~As for calling the photographer, I''m right there with you, I hate calling. I think email is great! I hope she''s not blowing you off, just busy.

LC~Miller looks so happy to be 2! Such a handsome guy.
9.gif

Diver~LOVE that necklace. And Delaney looks so happy, as usual.

snlee~Thanks for the recall info. I have a Chicco. Yuck. I hate this stuff. And, as for back pain, I had it in varrying places on my back (mostly low and mid) most of my pregnancy. I''ve always had back issues (I play and coach volleyball) so I wasn''t surprised. It is NO fun. I had multiple prenatal massages. I highly recommend them!!

Oh, good, I just checked and mine was 2007 too. Thank goodness.

Today is officially 20 weeks - halfway there!
36.gif
The 2nd tri is flying by! Part of me can''t believe how fast it''s gone and wants the pregnancy to slow down and the other half of me want to baby here soon!

Yay for making to the half way mark.
Yeah, it does go by pretty fast the 2nd trimester.
The third trimester does slow down a bit, especially during the last few weeks when you are feeling the weight of the baby
41.gif

But it''s sounding like you are already feeling the weight of the baby
15.gif
since you are carrying low?
Sorry to tell you, but the aches and pains are going to get a little worst as your pregnancy progress.
But...the kicks are going to be so much fun too.

RE: backache.
Yup, that sounds familiar. Mine seems to be just right in the midback of my right side.
Oh, also the section where your ribs meet tend to get very tender. So tender that even the slightest brush of your shirt hurts.
Lying on the side (opposite from where the pain is) seems to help.

Curly--
How cute is that that Lily is whispering
5.gif

She''s probably spitting all over you as she''s whispering away.

So where''s the belly picture that you promise?
41.gif

Diver -- sucks about the watch, esp when you were so looking forward to getting it. Glad you''re still getting the "right" one tho! :) Great pic, btw!

Litchick -- Miller looks like such a little man! geez, he''s cute :)

Ebree -- i bought my doppler off of ebay for $115 new including shipping. It''s by hi bebe and is only 2 mhz, but i''ve been able to use it since i got it at 12 weeks no prob (well, baby A doesn''t like it and tries to move away, but that''s a different story...) -- my mom got it for me b/c she wanted constant updates and i thought it might be frustrating, but it''s worked very well, actually. resell value is decent too...

Tacori -- sorry about the teething
7.gif
no comforting news here -- every little one and every tooth is a bit different, so hopefully it comes soon and she''s back to her normal, happy self!

Curly -- Lily sounds like such a joy -- and brag away!! I am such a proud momma and so thankful I get to say good things about my kids and i love when i hear how much other moms adore their kids, too --- it''s just very sweet to me :) the whispering sounds adorable :)

Gemma -- OK, your turn for the belly shot since i''m gonna go ahead with all of my embarrassment right now....

OK, ladies -- here''s my 17 week 6 day belly shot full of ridiculousness -- that belly button *was* an inny BTW!!!! who thinks they want twins now??? hahahaha.....

Burk, I am glad someone else can understand my phone issues
2.gif
I''ve ALWAYS been like this. I even hate calling for take-out.

Jen, you look great!

LC--
Miller is styling!
He''s such a big little man.

Diver--
D is sure a smiler.
Love her chiclets.

LC, the pictures of your little boy are so cute! Totally cracked me up! Happy belated 2nd birthday to Miller!

diver, sorry to hear about your watch. What a bummer but at least you know where to get a better one.
2.gif
Cute picture of D smiling! I love your necklace!

lili, the pressure is getting better. I think he's moving up but I'm still carrying pretty low. I am glad to know I'm not alone feeling mid back pain. I am having some rib pain too near the top of my belly/bottom of ribs. I guess it's my belly stretching out and making room for the baby. Sometimes it hurts a lot but rubbing/massaging the area has been helpful. I also have costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone. It hurts so much when I sneeze or cough! Which rib pain did you have? I'll stop now, cause I sound like I'm a big complainer and I'm not! It's nice to compare aches and pains though to make sure what I'm feeling is normal!

I bought a massage tool awhile back from Crabtree and it has been a lifesaver these last few weeks. DH has been so sweet and he gives me massages almost every night with it. It has a handle and 4 round knobs. I love it! He can easily give me the perfect back massage without exerting himself.

I got my first "are you pregnant?" comment today, which made me happy! And when I tell people I'm pregnant now, they aren't suppressed. It's nice to start showing.
