Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Ohhh, Snlee, I''m so sorry about your ordeal! I know what you mean about wishing you had another pair of ears to help you keep all that information straight. It''s too bad that you''re on bedrest now, but stories like yours remind me to not be so nonchalant about pregnancy (which I tend to do). I will be thinking ''stay put baby!'' thoughts for you.

Hey Pave, how are you doing? I''ve heard that scheduled inductions can help increase your chance of sticking with your preferred OB, but still, things can happen, and he/she still might not be able to make it. I tried to get an OB who attends over 90% of her deliveries, but she has a waiting list. And no wonder! I''m going to have a doula because she''ll be able to do massage and help keep me calm. I''ve heard that some doctors and midwives don''t care for doulas, but I think I''m going to need an advocate in the hospital. I told my husband that he should be the one speaking the most on my behalf because I don''t want them to resent the doula, but at the same time, it''s helpful to have someone who isn''t related to or emotionally involved to keep an eye out for me. Also, I''m going to try and introduce my doula to my doctor earlier on so that they don''t feel like complete strangers.

Oh, and don''t feel bad about not gaining weight during these early months. I''m at 11 weeks now and my shorts fit perfectly fine. I eat when I need to and exercise a ton, but I don''t think it''s necessary to augment my caloric intake because I''ll gain plenty of weight in the coming weeks and months.

Hi Erica- thanks for the input on the doulas/obs. I totally agree I think a doula will be a great addition to my birthing experience. I am going to a meet the doulas meeting this week. My dh is gonna come. He likes the idea- but not the price. So fingers crossed that he is blown away by the meeting. I have a little savings that I will use if necessary but I hope he can see the value. We have just been hit with some unexpected costs recently so he is smarting a little bit.
I was thinking of trying to get a doula that the hospital already has a good relationship with? Hopefully that would help. And also I want to ask my Dr. what she thinks but if she says she doesn''t like them that will be akward because I would still use one anyway.

I know I should try not to worry about the weight thing but I am an anxious girl by nature and as I am reading my preg week by week etc I keep running into how much ppl "should" gain. I realize that everyone is different and for sure my belly is growing but I would just like to see that scale move a little bit-
Did you go to your meeting yet? Hope it goes well.

By the way, while I was visiting my mom, I knit two pairs of these, one with burgundy laces and one with lime green. Gender neutral! Now I''m making a pair for my friend who is expecting in December.
Seriously IG they are the cutest booties I have ever seen. I have to get some talent like that!

Lili- I thought I already typed this but I must have gotten distracted! Thanks for the tip on the chocolate. I''ll have to get started on my consumption!!! whoohooo!
18.gif

Jen well I will keep my fingers crossed that your girls have very little or no time in the nicu. Still like you said it''s great you have all that you need right there. Are you feeling better today? Are you in pain when you walk or just trying to be careful?

Kay- how could i forget- I just wanted to tell you I just went to babycatalog and made the purchase. I''m so excited. I got the red.
yesterday I spent a while trying to find the website(babycatalog) that you had given me in a previous post but I was striking out! So glad that you came home and gave it to me! Thanks. Btw- did you register there? Does anyone know how to choose the best place? Thanks.
Also, I hope your feet are feeling better. That sounds painful. I hope you and dh had lots of relaxing time together if your feet were keeping you from seeing as much as you originally thought. good luck at the dr.

Pave, Indy, I had my meeting and unfortunately it went the way I expected. They aren''t budging on splitting my grant over two years. At least I''ll be able to file as a ''traveling scholar'' so that I only have to pay $150 plus $1500 for my health insurance (plus baby''s insurance, eeek!), instead of $1000 for reduced tuition plus insurance. I''m going to email the Dean of my school in order to voice my concerns about their craptastic student parents'' policy. What really annoys me is that they aren''t adjusting my scholarship for inflation, even though they''re adjusting the regular finishing grant stipend!
29.gif
There used to be more than $7000 difference, and now it''s less than $5k! We''ll manage somehow, but I''ll have to pick up extra work in the fall during my 2nd and 3rd trimesters in order to save up for all those baby expenses. I hope I can breastfeed for a long time to save on formula, and we''re going to try a cloth diaper service that costs $17/week (75 diapers) because the disposable gDiapers are a bit pricey...Urgh, so many things to think about and do when all I want is go back home and crawl into bed. I wish the nausea would stop soon.
40.gif

Cute booties, Indy! Last fall I was knitting and crocheting up a storm (working on a baby blanket), but it looks like I now have a legitimate reason for starting up again.

Jen - u r seriously scaring me! You know I took fertility drugs (Gonalf - pure FSH and had 4-5 follicles!)
My beta hcg was high for 11 dpo - 185 miu. Today we find out if it doubled, tripled.....there is some correlation to hcg levels and multiples but
anything can happen. All I know is I am having more intense s/s this BFP than 2 yrs ago. Could be synthetic horemones or simply MORE endogenous hormones
23.gif

Will update on # later today.

Erica - You crack me up about the weight thing! I wish I excercised!! Funny but u only need about 300 extra calories a day per baby (sure u guys have talked about this). I was surprised that it really isn't "eating for 2" unless u want to gain 60 lbs. I gained 30 w/ Olivia and felt huge (went from 114 to 144). I'm thinner this round so we'll see what happens.

Tgal & Pave - So sorry if my med. speak is aggravating. I guess I ate, slept and breathed it so it's sorta dilluted/normalized to me. Plus, I was a high-risk pg. w/ Olviia - we did the amnio, you name it! The majority of pg. go like clockwork, really. And even the ones w/ complications work out fine. I'll tone it down. But if anyone has a quest. let me know! I'd be happy to share.

Indy - How much r u charging for a pair of those cutie booties??

Erica, that really blows. That blows so bad! Re the insurance for the kiddos, can your DH get them covered under his student insurance or are peoples' kids never covered? I remember that was an issue when I was in grad student.. and I think that at my school the administration fixed it. I just can't believe how badly they are treating you. It's not like they're short of cash. Which makes me think it's ideological?

Would it be any different if you didn't take a leave? I really think that, with good coordination and your mom's help, you could manage to keep teaching that class. Might be worth it under the circumstances. You would just have to get ALL your March and April prep done ahead of time, but you could do that if you focus, no?

Jen, great to hear that the spotting stopped! Now stay away from that husband!
11.gif

Pave & Lisa, thanks for the compliments on the booties! They couldn't be easier and only take about 2 hours to make each. I can type up the 'recipe' in case any of you are knitters if you want.

So, I caved. I had to wait for my new pre-natal prescription to be filled (funny story there which I'll tell y'all in a second) and so I ran up the street to Old Navy to get a maternity tank top, only, once I was there, I just could not NOT buy this onesie. ARGH! That chameleon! It is the happiest beastor I have ever seen. And the thing is, chameleons really look that happy when you see them in real life. So of course I had to buy it. I feel a little guilty because it's still so early, but not TOO guilty. After all, it cost $3. Less than my jamba juice. And I know it will give me lots of joy for a month or two.

lizardonesie.jpg

Hehe Lisa, the speak is not aggravating, so keep on it! I just don''t know what it means, is all.

And posting email addresses are against forum rules so you might want to delete it while you can.

OK, so here's how I ended up getting my new pre-natals. I once had a big swelly thing under my chin. Being me (aka a hypochondriac about ever becoming a hypochondriac) I refused to go to the doctor, sure it would resolve on its own. When it became the size of a golf ball and I could no longer speak properly, I finally went to the doc, who told me my salivary gland was infected, and antibiotic-o-ed me ASAP.

So, this week this weird bumpy lump thing just under the skin kept growing bigger and bigger on my neck in a nearby spot to the infamous salivary gland golfball. It just kept getting bigger and sore-er. DH said 'You really have to go to the doctor! What if it's an infection and it hurts the babies!??!' So of course I had to go. The doctor takes a look at it and says:

"It's a pimple."

WHA?

"It's cystic acne. That's all. It will go away."

Cystic acne? On my neck?!

Anyway, being a hypochondriac about being a hypochondriac, I was utterly mortified that I had gone to the doctor about a ZIT!!!!!

So of course I had to say "But the main reason I'm here is that I need a perscription for a prenatal with more iron in it."

Anyway, so that's how I ended up at Old Navy, via the drugstore. Very, very embarassed.

A cystic zit on my neck, huh? Who woulda thunk. This pregnancy stuff is sure weird.

Thank you jas, lisa, jen, curly, Skippy, Indy, TGal, lili, pave, Kay, dreamer, erica for your concern and good thoughts! I know I can''t blame myself. I didn''t do anything to cause this. It''s just frustrating to go through this so suddenly and that most the time the cause of preterm labor is unknown.

Since I dont know what the future holds, I''m inclined to pack my hospital bag but DH doesn''t want me to. He thinks it''s jinxing myself. He said if we have to be admitted and stay overnight, he''ll come home and get the stuff we need. I also wonder if we should buy some preemie, or at least newborn clothes (we only bought a few newborn clothes cause we thought our baby would be close to 8 pounds when he''s born). I haven''t washed any of the baby stuff yet! Thoughts? What would you do?

Now onto responding to questions and individual posts...

jas, sorry I was so out of it yesterday I didn''t realize I didn''t comment on your L&D update. What a scary ordeal! I am so glad you are back home and the boys are staying put for the time being. I am sitting here wondering the same thing - how did it all get serious so quickly!? I hope we both make it to at least 35 weeks! I hope you have gotten some good sleep. I know it''s difficult. I haven''t been able to sleep well since th scare too. I''m sorry to hear your DH wasn''t there with your the whole time. I can imagine how difficult it is going through that without him. Glad your parents were there to take care of you. Sending lots of "stay put" vibes to your boys!

qtiekiki, hope you and Meena are doing well. Get lots of rest.

Blenheim, we started stopping for baby gear in the second trimester. In fact, we bought almost everything we need in the second trimester, which I''m so thankful we did, considering what I''m going through now!

lisa, the doctor didn''t say much about the positive fFN other than it means I''m at an increased risk for preterm delivery and need to be monitored closely.

Kaleigh, thanks for sharing your own experience. It''s reassuring to know that you were able to hold off labor for 3 weeks and your son is a healthy 18 year old now!

Indy, a shock to say the least! Those booties you knitted are so cute!

TGal, LOL at the sticky dance. NO baking for me!

lili, it''s not the heat for me. It''s a cool 60''s usually here...maybe up to low 70''s. It''s been nice here.

pave, the side effects of the meds haven''t been that bad, just a headache so far so hopefully it stays that way. Thanks for asking.

Kay, welcome back! I''m sorry to hear about your aunt passing. My condolences to you and your family. I hope your swollen feet and ankles improve too.

curly, I''ve had a talk with the little boy about staying put in there! He is very active, even the nurse and u/s tech commented on how much he was kicking. He is still moving a lot so hopefully that''s a good sign.

dreamer, thanks for telling me about the two people you know who had PTL and went on to deliver full term babies! That is reassuring to hear.

jen, I''m glad your spotting has stopped. No more DTD for you two, at least for a little while.
2.gif

My spotting has stopped. It only lasted a day. I''m still having cramps though and some contractions. I''m able to feel some of the contractions, which I wasn''t able to before. They are uncomfortable but not painful. I still have to feel with my fingertips to know if I''m really having one. I have an appointment this afternoon. Crossing my fingers and toes it all goes well! I will keep you guys posted.

Indy, children and dependents are not covered under our student insurance. In fact, if my husband wasn''t going to the same school as me, it would cost about $300 more than he pays for himself as a student to add him to my policy.

Interesting theory about it being an ideological issue. Goodness knows this school is swimming in money!! This school also doesn''t offer pre-enrollment for undergrads, so teaching assistants never know if there''s going to be enough jobs for everyone, and it has taken them ten years to finally agree to coincide their academic calendar with all of the schools in the area! Like other behemoth institutions, it doesn''t respond well to calls for change. It''s shocking to read how other schools of its type (dare I say ''caliber''?)
20.gif
offer much more generous family aid. I just sent a long and polite email to my Dean, but I doubt it''ll do much good. Now I need to decide whether I want to finish a full year later than planned or not in order to teach my beloved class.

Oh, and I can''t go ahead and teach my class because the department has already nixed it. Plus, I have a really good relationship with the faculty and administrators, and I wouldn''t want to ruin it by going behind their back. Stuck between a rock and a hard place --the school is making it difficult for me to be happy about the pregnancy.

Funny that you had a big lump on your neck. I had one when I was in high school, and it had to be drained. Ewwwwww! Yay for cheap and cute baby clothing, though! My justification for buying baby clothing is that I can always give it away to friends later on if things don''t work out for me.

Lisa, I exercise because otherwise I would drive myself nuts with worry. It''s probably depression combined with anxiety and m/s.
7.gif
As hard as it is for me to be excited about my pregnancy, I am rooting for all of you to have healthy and safe deliveries. Hearing about everyone else''s experiences keeps things somewhat less overwhelming for me.
1.gif

Snlee, if it would make you feel more comfortable, then maybe set aside the things you'd want in your hospital bag, so that you can tell hubby where they are in case of trouble. But you have GOT to think positive!!! Look at it this way, the majority of twin mommas go into preterm labor, and the majority of those end up going to, or at least near to, term (37 wks for twins). With close supervision, you have every chance of going that long! And with each passing week, things look up. Live in reality, but THINK POSITIVE!
28.gif

Erica, speaking of thinking positive (not), I would be willing to bet that, unofficially, one reason that your school doesn't want to show support for parenthood is because they simply don't want their students becoming parents. They want them to stay focussed on their work, get through the program quickly, and get out in the world. Scholars with kids (or at least the primary caregiver) almost by definition aren't going to be the sort of crazy workaholics places like that are after. Why make it easier if you don't want them to do it in the first place? YUCK! But that's the way it goes for women in academia. I was also told, in no uncertain terms, that a person can't get a job at a top place if she's pregnant, and that it is wise to remove a wedding band before going to an interview at a high powered place. From what I hear, the exception to this is Princeton, which has worked very hard to make itself a woman-friendly place. But for the most part, it sucks being a mommy in (high powered) academia.

I feel so badly for you.
7.gif
I wish there was something more I could think of to help you. I guess maybe just to point out that having a kid now and taking an extra year will be less detrimental to your career than having a kid while you're working for tenure?

Still, sucks.
38.gif

My mom started her chemo today. She called me from the hospital. Sounds tired, but so far doing OK.

Indy, Princeton has an amazing grad student maternity leave policy! Too bad I didn''t even attempt to go there. You''re so right about it being better to have a baby now rather than on the job market. If I take the extra year, the bambino will already be 2.5 yrs old when I start working, which will hopefully help keep things flexible for us.

Thanks for all your support and advice, though. I think the super high-powered students in my program manage to have a baby during their coveted 1-2 yr fellowships. Maybe the school assumes that if I need ''help'' with a baby, then I''m not worthy of being a student/parent there.

I hope the chemo works well for your mom. I can''t even imagine how difficult that is to deal with. I hope you''re also getting enough rest and pampering (aside from your gorgeous new ring). I have a massage tomorrow, but I think what I really need is a facial. With our financial situation taking a turn for the worse, every penny I earn is now being diverted away from the ''someday upgrade'' fund to health insurance, housing, and groceries. Funny how that keeps happening for so many Americans
20.gif

Hey Erica, know how we were talking about baby stuff that wouldn''t totally destroy modern lines in home decor? With Peony''s help, I''ve found a line of not-too-noxious cribs. Nice neutral colours. No crazy monkey print. You can even get it in plain black or totally plain beige. armsreach.com Just FYI!

Indy - those booties are so cute. I wish I know how to knit well.

The good news is that my cervix hasn't had any change from yesterday. However, the Nifedipine is supposed to stop the contractions and cramps or at least make them better. It’s gotten worse. So my doctor called the high-risk specialist so she could advise her what to do. Either admit me to L&D and give me Magnesium Sulfate or monitor me from home and I come back in on Thursday.

They decided since there’s no change in my cervix I could be monitored from home. She increased the frequency of my medication so now it’s every 4 hours. I’m on bed rest and disability now so I won’t be able to return to work until after the baby is born. I’m still shocked about it since It happened so unexpectedly! I’m trying to figure out how my paid leave works and it’s so confusing! At least I’ve opened the necessary claims and that was easy.

I found out the baby weights about 3 pounds right now. I had forgotten to ask after I got my u/s on Saturday night.

I feel very satisfied with the care I’ve been receiving. They seem to monitor my preterm labor closely, which is reassuring.

Feeling the contractions and cramps are worrisome but I’m relieved to know that there’s no change in my cervix. I feel optimistic about this baby staying put for a while and I have to stay positive. The bed rest is a downer though. Thinking about all the things I’ll miss and can’t do. And after 3 days of lying in bed almost all day, I’m so BORED already!

DH has been awesome. He’s kept a positive attitude throughout al this and has been so supportive and caring. He’s been driving me everywhere, waiting on me, and doing all the housework, and even making sure I take the right pills at the right time. I am so thankful to have him.

jas, how are you doing today? You haven't checked in today and I'm a big worry wart right now. Check in when you can.

Indy, thank you so much for reminding me I need to stay positive! So much has happened the last few days it's been hard to take in and so I've probably sound like such a downer. But you are right and I will stay positive!

eph, still thinking of you and hoping you are okay.

snlee - It's scary what you are going through. I am glad you are back home resting and your cervix hasn't changed. Hopefully the dr. can find a drug to stop the contractions. Are you being given steroid? My SIL was having contractions at around 20 weeks, and she was put on bedrest and given steroid to speed up the baby's lung development in case she goes into labor early. She ended up having our nephew full term.

Jas & Jen - Hope you are doing well.

Indy, thanks for the link to the co-sleeper website. I''ve been trying to figure out a way to make space in the bedroom without turning it into a disaster zone.

Snlee, I''m glad that they''re going to monitor you at home for the time being. If I were stuck in bed all the time, I would probably end up buying things online just to feel like I''m getting something done!
3.gif
Anyway, I''m really glad that your husband has been so supportive.

I have my nuchal scan tomorrow. We''re going to the big hospital, hopefully for the first and only time. Even though it would be nicer to stick with the same wonderful doctor and hospital the whole way through, it''s also useful to check out services elsewhere for future reference.

DD, I hope you''re having a great vacation.

Lisa, how are the numbers?

Coming out of lurkdom today...

Holy Poop Snlee - this is all so scary and fascinating. I''m thinking of you and sending you lots of sticky vibes! Thank G for PS to get you through the bordom.

Just wanted to say "Hi" and give my best wishes to all you preggers here. I hope to graduate from the TTC thread and join you all really soon!!!
35.gif

mela lu, we can''t wait to have you here full time!

snlee - hope everything is fine, glad to hear you''ll be monitored from home now.

erica - good luck on the nuchal scan! you''ll finally be able to see the party your little one is having in there. mine couldn''t stop dancing haha.

lisa - hope those numbers are looking good today!

Snlee - Hang in there! Your cervix is still pretty long so maybe this added meds regimine will do the trick. As for SDA/ Pd. FMLA (disability) -
SDA in CA -U qualify for extended paid leave for 4 mos. if having pg. related complications like PTL, etc. after del. u get 6 wks. paid if vag. del. and 8 wks paid if c-sect.

FMLA/SDA -After del. u can take up to 12 wks. off but only the amt. subtracted from del. will be not paid. Job will be secure though.

As for dad, he gets the FMLA (family med. leave act) and qulifies for 12 weeks paid leave after the 1st year post del.
You can split up this time into whatever increments you want as long as it doesn''t go over 12 wks. We milked this for about 6 mos. post del.

FMLA is taxed - can u believe it? Disability is not. I hope I remebered this correctly. It''s been over a year. The disability part maybe be diff. re each state.

Indy - sorry to hear about the pimple/unsightly objet'' d''arte. I woke-up w/ a side ache, prob. from carrying the 26 lb. chunk of Olivia yest., and immediately my mind went
to Kidney infection......why? Uh, b/c I''m a total spas-nut-case and off my rocker. But you all knew that already.

Erica - the University can go pound sand! I''m getting really pissed reading about your travails (sp) and the misogamy of it all! Is there a family law office u can consult in town?
Usually a free service. Perhaps there is something in the state/federal law that has been overlooked here? Just grasping at straws. Maybe something in Am. w/ Disabilites Act?
As pg. is considered a disability. I hope u make National news! OK rant over.......

My beta #''s update:

Beta #1 (7/31) 185 miu. 11 dpo

Beta #2 (8/4) 1,005 miu
23.gif
15 dpo

So the low-down is there is no real correlation between #''s and multiples BUT from everything I''ve read and looking at a small sample size of multiple mom''s beta''s - the #''s are "high."

Betas should double every 48-72 hrs. Hmmm, that would put me at or around 800 miu or less.

Most singleton pg. start @ 50-80 miu.

1st US sched. 8/19 - (29 days preggo) or 6 wks. 2 days.
We should be able to see the sack/s and faint poss. of hb.

As much as having twins/triplets intrigues me, I don''t want the extra risk on top of high-risk that I already am! GULP!

I know what DD is thinking.........Yes, I did the same drugs as J&K +8!!!! But she was younger and had PCOS.

sbde, how are you doing?
35.gif

When''s the earliest anyone (or someone you know) found out about the gender? I just finished 11 weeks, so I''m guessing it''s too soon for us. And if you found out the gender, did you keep it to yourselves?

It seems like m/s is coming back with a vengeance after a two week hiatus. And the hair keeps falling out. I might have to cut it shorter so it doesn''t look so stringy (been growing it out for the past 4 years).
14.gif

Erica - u might be able to find out the gender tomorrow during your level 2 scan!!!!! We found out @ 12wks. 3 lines = girl.

We told everyone!

USGirl -12Wks.jpg

Lisa -- sorry to "scare" you
2.gif
All of us twin mommies here didn''t take fertility meds, so the odds are even weirder -- so I''m thinking I hope you get *a* healthy baby like you want, but maybe you''ll be our first set of trips!
2.gif
OK, not trying to jinx ya here... btw, my betas were high, but it was the high progesterone in combination with the high betas that gave it away for me. I knew I o''d two days in a row, so i had a gut feeling anyway, but feeling like you might be carrying multiples and actually seeing a couple of sacs on the screen are two VERY different feelings!! No matgter how many you end up with, I hope your u/s shows everyone is perfect! (ps did you get your progesterone level taken?)

Jackie -- where are you? I can''t help but be a worrier either, so please check in when you can!

Pave -- yes I''m feeling better (thanks for asking!) -- my pelvic pain is worse today than normal, but sometimes it''s a bit better, and I *did* just sit on a bench for 4 hours teaching...
20.gif

Indy -- that onesie is adorable! I totally would have bought it too :) Looking at my baby clothes makes me happy thinking ahead to when babies are wearing them
1.gif
LOL re: your "zit" and new prescription! I needed the laugh :) Btw, DH is no longer allowed near me -- haha-- (but even if he was, I think he''s scared off!)

Snlee -- glad your cevix is cooperating!! I know being in bed must be incredibly boring, but it will be worth it -- hang in there! Your DH sounds awesome btw!

Erica -- one baby let us know at 16 weeks but the other wasn''t as obvious until my next appt at 19 weeks. My u/s tech wouldn''t even check them at 13 weeks (guess they look a lot alike at that point and it has a bit more to do with "angle" than it does "parts"
3.gif
) Sorry to hear about the m/s
14.gif

So today is the day I have to go to the schools and get my boys checked in (which means lots of paperwork and boys who don''t want to sit still for it!) I can''t believe my "baby" is going to kindergarten
7.gif
It''s going to feel so strange not having any kiddos home during the day for the first time in 10 years! They start on the 18th so I guess I should just go ahead and start the mental prep now... as for the girls, they are partying away, totally unphazed by our L&D adventure from the other day, so I guess all''s good :) BBL...

Hey Jen I have to read up on your early days!

What were ur betas if u don''t mind me asking?

And no way u could have really "scared" me as I knew going in that multiples was a risk but a distant one at that
3.gif

However, the mind reels when thinking about trips or twins I''m sure you fell off your chair! And sacks can always vanish before/after knowledge of them - sigh.

No progestoerone levels as I am inserting *TMI* the fantastic vaginal suppositories twice daily for support.

I went to check on Olivia and saw here sitting in the middle of the floor w/ an entire box of kleenex pulled out and surrounding her like a fluffy cloud!

The kitty was up high on a pile of boxes! Meowing....

Welcome to Tuesday!

Hi all...I''m still here and preggo and lurking, just recovering from the 3 days in hospital...more later!

Thanks so much for asking...it makes things easier to know people are looking out for each other!

Lisa, I can''t tell a darn thing from your u/s, but it''s nice to hear that even at 12 wks some people find out. Even thinking about triplets and twins, I feel like I need to sit down! I hope the next few weeks zip by quickly for you, especially with your little monkey to keep you busy.

I''ve been hiding at home all morning, guess it''s time to go to work for a few hours before flopping back on the couch.

After the flurry of hospital activity, I''m glad that everyone is home again and the bambini are behaving themselves by staying put.

i''m doing well erica, thanks for asking.

the m/s is SLOWLY abating. i had a 2 day stretch last week where i didn''t need/take my zofran. of course it came back with a vengeance on the 3rd day, but still i''ll take any day w/out m/s!

i had no idea you could tell the baby''s sex so early. i didn''t see anything @ my NT scan, and the dr. didn''t volunteer any gender based info either. i have my fetal survey u/s scheduled for the end of the month, at which pt i''ll find out. yay!

jas - glad to hear you''re holding up and doing well!

re: baby clothes, i haven''t bought anything for jelly yet except for this little onesie i bought back on father''s day. i thought it was darn cute! hopefully once we know more abt whether it''s a boy or a girl the shopping can REALLY begin.
