Quick check in because I can''t seem to drag my a$$ to the mommy thread...

Awwwee...jas, come on over. we don''t bite
1.gif
LOL -- it''s not a biting thing...it''s habit for me to come here.
41.gif

I''m doing pretty well, thanks to all of you who asked. There are moments when I do want to pull my hair out, but over all, it''s pretty rewarding (if you measure rewards in baby barf and poop). My little guys definitely respond to my voice and my holding them, which is cool. Unfortunately, Mommy Snoodling is requested most often in the wee hours of the morning.
9.gif

I have my moments when I worry that I will never do anything for society again except wash bottles and do laundry, but those moments are few and far between.

They are something special, and definitely the biggest responsibility I''ll ever have. But hey, at least my b**bs are bigger.

Jackie -- A big "awwww" to all the smooshie stuff -- you wouldn''t be going soft on us would you
2.gif
I love how being a mother can kinda-sorta do that :) re: bigger boobs -- isn''t it a darned shame that they get bigger and the babies are the only ones who can touch em? That''s how it was for me and a lot of people i know --- bbs were OFF LIMITS to DH
20.gif
On a serious note, I''m so glad you are all doing so well (and you''ll get real sleep again someday -- it gets better!!) Give those gorgeous boys of yours some hugs from me and the girls...

jen

Popping in to wish Robbie a congrats!

And snlee...wow, home stretch girl...the fun is about to begin!!

snlee,
You''re in the home stretch, woohoo. You have been such a champ. I can''t wait to meet your baby boy!!!!

HUGS and best wishes to you in the days ahead!!!

I'm glad you asked! Here's our short list, but we are still WIDE OPEN to new suggestions (these are just the ones from our own lists we have narrowed down) -- my sons' middle names are Raine, Skye and Zane, so i like the more unique middle names, esp nature-sounding ones. We would like one girl to have a Hawaiian middle name since we got married there last April:

For Sophie:
Amaya, Delilah, Emelia, Jade, Kaia, Kiana, Luana, Makana, Malana, Meadow, Willow

For Marina:

Ilana, Ivy, Jade, Kiana, Lily, Makani, Sage, Sakari, Willow

(The Hawaiian 'a's' are all either 'ah' or 'uh' --- no hard a sounds, and Ilana starts with the sound 'ee' hope that makes sense :))

I would LOVE EVERYONE'S opinion on these and new ideas -- after saying a lot of these names for so long now, it'd be really helpful to know what other people think sounds good (I love some of the Hawaiian name meaning, but sould rather pick a name based on sound, FWIW) Thanks in advance everyone!!

Hi all, I'm doing a MAJOR drive by here. there is so much that I want to respond to but I'm whipped. So I'm going to throw out my 2c babynames and then come back later for the rest ;)

Jen - love your names and ESPESH love the Hawaii idea. I concieved in NY, so we're hoping to have a middlename that reflect NY (but not coming up with anything that good yet. So far we like Rocky as a middlename as a shout-out to the Rockefellers. Anyone have ideas??)

Jen here are some other cute/cool/unique middlename ideas:
isla, willa, iris, gavi, lana, bay, dove, dune, poe, teal, flynn, nola, loki, anais, nova, loa, dahl, tamar, sai,

Out of your names, I have to say that I like the sound of Sophie Amaya (it flows so well) and I also like Marina Jade / Marina Kiana.

I like Marina Bay (from my little selection above) Marina Loa, and Marina Nova. Marina Dahl is pretty cute too.
I like Sophie Anais, oooh so is Sophie Dahl.

I just realized that I'm probably no help at all. sorry!!!! hahaha. or am I

******

Indy / LIA: I love Jonah and Samuel (big puffy hearts). I also like, Elijah, Elias (if you flip the two last letters of Elias you get my first name *wink*), Levi, Samson, Moses, (do these even count?) anyways, I like 'em!

******

I have kept a baby name list for quite a few years. In fact me and my girlfriend have a "dibs list"
9.gif
. I have zillions of girls names I like and only two boys names that DH and I can agree on.
11.gif
Go figure. Again it's one of those 'shooting them down is easier than coming up with new ones". We're trying to get latin based names or names based in Italian/Italy to match our background; although some are on there juuuuuuuuuust because I like them.

This is my list so far:
Girls:

Maya
Bianca
Mia
Mila
Eva
Simone
Aurora
Claudia
Beatrice
Luna
Valentina
Aria
Audrey
Danika
Gemma
Nadia
Felicity
Celeste
Nova
Alouette (veto'd by DH b/c it's french)
Neve
Neva
Eden
Flora
Chiara
Allegra
Augusta
Isla

boys:

Romeo
Wolfgang
(one's I'm trying to warm DH up to: Rocky, Oscar, Andre, Axel, Xavier, Felix)

******

Pandora - my thoughts go out to you. My brother suffers depression (as does my Dad) and it's such a tricky beast to manage. I really cannot comment on the drugs as you know yourself best and your instict combined with your Physician's opinion should get you to a comfortable place. hang in there. We're here if you need to vent or let off some steam. I don't mind if you get a little testy. I'll fogive you
10.gif
You're my cycle buddy!

*****
Indy - great news about the specialists. So glad you're getting the care that you need and deserve. As for the 'fold'....hope for the best. Our friends had 6 "soft markers" and their baby was measuring way below it's age. All of the doctors were suggesting they terminate. Even after the legal Canadian termination date, they were urging her to go to the US and terminate. Since no test were coming back conclusive, she just held on and kept the faith. Her son is now 3 and healthier that a Thanksgiving Turkey!!!!!!!!!!!! If anything, he errs on the side of genius
22.gif
. Anyways, the point is, have faith that this is nothing more than a wee glitch. Keep us posted.

Yey Suh-nuh-lee for 35 loooong weeks and getting off bedrest. But boo to the spotsville. So crazy that you're going to blow soon. Can't wait to here your story when it finally happens.

K, I've overstayed my welcome here tonight. I'm seriously exhausted. Catch up more later!

Now, speaking of boobies, when did yours stop growing??? I''m 4w1d today and I''ve already gone up 2 cup sizes. If I go up another I don''t know how I''ll be able to keep people from noticing!

You''d be surprised what people dont notice. I went from DD to a G cup and no one batter an eye. People are too concerned with themseleves to pay much attention to your boobs! LOL! Everyone is different, mine expanded slowly, some go up quickly. You may find they deflate a little after the initial hormone rush and then start up again when the pregnancy changes really begin (e.g., bugger darker nipples etc)

Ay Carumba Robbie!! Wow. My boobies are sore and ''swollen'' maybe, but I really feel for you. Is your back ok?
As for other people, DD is so right! I''m extremely bloated right now, so much so that I can''t even do up the button on any of my jeans. I feel HUGE, but no one has noticed, and all my close girls who know I''m KTFU say they cannot notice. I think we *feel* it more than it looks. At least I hope.

Thanks Mela!

I love Flora on your list - it was my favourite girls name for ages and ages, but it doesn''t go that nicely with DH''s surname so it was vetoed.

I COMPLETELY agree. We all think that everyone is going to notice our trips to the bathroom, our huge breasts, etc. And the reality is that almost NO ONE will notice anything, unless they are on "bump watch" with you.

I was able to hide my TWIN PREGNANCY for about 15 weeks. And I was pretty huge at that point. And my breasts were (and are) humungous!) No one had even noticed before I told them unless they were close friends (who to be fair did know much earlier).

Thanks guys, good to know that people most likely won''t notice. My bloat comes and goes, but when it''s here, good god! I went out and bought some looser shirts yesterday to hide it. I know it''s just bloat, but it really looks like a baby bump. Last night when I showed DH he said "Are you sure we didn''t get pregnant 2 cycles ago???" Ha. Today I''m using the rubber band trick on my jeans. I can button them, but it''s really uncomfortable. Probably wouldn''t have been able to button them at all with the bloat I had going on last night though.

Pandora, I like Italian names, but DH says they don''t go with our German last name. Isabella was actually my fave, but he said absolutely not. He hasn''t vetoed Isabelle yet though and that would still let us call her Izzy, which sounds super cute with our last name.

Robbie - isn''t the bloat crazy???? wow.

Um, if anyone feels that the babynames are out of place here (slash annoying) then I''ll happily start a "Babyname" Thread. It''s only one of my favourite topics other than diamonds.
11.gif

When does the spotting stop? It''s super light, but it''s been around for 6 days already. All brown, so nothing to worry about, but it''s still kind of annoying having to wear a liner every day.

Congrats robbie, I''ve been following your story a little, so I know you''ve been really looking forward to pregnancy. All the best!
I look forward to hearing of your experiences!

I suppose we''re all kind of in this together, as I also am pregnant! I''ve been a bit slack, and have not bothered to go to the doctor yet, I think I''m seven weeks along.
Last one for me I think!
Also, my husband was so happy for me, he''s bought me a new house! (well, the legal contracts are in motion)
The house is soooo nice, the perfect long-term family home, overlooking a parkland, with lakes and ducks!!!!
I honestly have to pinch myself, I''m in a dream.
So I guess my much-longed-for ring upgrade will have to wait for another five years or so!

Mela -- thanks for the list and the ideas! Lots and lots of name ideas to float around now. I think babynames are totally in sync with this thread -- after all, we all ARE preggers ;) I''ll keep thinking about some of those names for you, but off the bat, LOVE Luna (on my original list, considered it for Sophie''s middle name too)...for boys, I love Samson too. Will get back to you with more :)

Robbie -- I wasn''t as lucky as Neatfreak -- people knew I was preggo with my twins by 8 weeks. Ugh. My bbs went up immediately too and the bloat was hard to conceal (I threw a baby shower for my DH''s cousin on March 1st -- just around 6 weeks at that point -- and DH''s family were all asking each other if *I* was pg too) You know, Robbie, you ARE a PSer -- could you be pg with twins?? ;)

Snlee -- how are you feeling today?? please check in and let us know if you are around!

Pandora -- I don''t have advice, but wanted to let you know that I take a steroid inhaler for my asthma that''s a class c drug, but I don''t breathe without it. I took one with all 3 of my boys too, and they turned out perfect. And pregnancy has made me much more of an emotional basketcase than normal, although i suffer from depression and have gone untreated for a long time now... it''s definitely worse with the pg and sometimes i wish i cold get *on* something for it now... I only had PPD with my third boy, btw. Oh yeah, I have tried to *hit* my DH on 3 different occasions during this pregnancy (lucky for both of us he''s much bigger than me and was able to grab my arms and stop me!) b/c i was so upset. Wish I could take those times back, but I just totally lost control (something I''d never done before). It''s embarrassing to admit that, honestly, but I thought you should know just how out of whack the pg hormones can be. Let us know what your docs say!

Hi everyone else -- hope your Friday''s off to a good start!

jen

Congrats Lara! How exciting to get a new house and a new baby all at once!

Jen, it is possible, but who knows. My mom's sister has fraternal twins and my mom said her mom's uncles were twins (no idea if they were fraternal though), so I guess it could run in the family. We really don't know my grandmother's side of the family, so it's possible there are more twins out there that we just don't know. My aunt was 35 when she had my cousins though, so I have a feeling that had something to do with it. The older you are, the more likely you are to have twins, right?

ETA: If we do end up with twins, we'd have a pretty awesome support system with DH's family. My nieces are identical twins, so I'm sure my SIL would be a wealth of knowledge about twin stuff.

Thanks for sharing that Jen - I think it''s probably more the pg hormones since posters here have said how they have been. I HATE losing control and I haven''t done it since I was about 14.

I ended up pulling a sickie at work today as they wanted to discuss future events that I''m running and I knew I''d flip if I didn''t get some down time over the weekend.

And snlee...wow, home stretch girl...the fun is about to begin!!
Yippy!

I''m still here ladies (thanks for checking in on me Jen!).

TMI alert and question for the mommies:

I''ve had an increase in discharge and it seems more watery this past week. A few times I was laying in bed I felt like I was leaking. When I got up to check, my underwear was wet even though I was wearing a panty liner. Well, this morning, I woke up with A LOT of watery discharge, enough to wet my bed sheets. I believe this is normal as I get close to labor. Correct? Or should I call my doctor?

snlee, I would call your doctor just to be safe. It is normal for your discharge to increase as you get closer to the end but you sound like you may be leaking amniotic fluid. Of course, you know I'm not a doctor so I don't want to freak you out or give you wrong information--that's why I'm suggesting you call. I'm sure they will ask you what color it is and if there is any odor. I wish I knew more but at this point in your pregnancy and after everything you've been through, I think it's better to err on the side of caution. They can run a quick test and let you know if it's cervical fluid, urine or amniotic fluid. I hope it's nothing. Good luck and let us know what the doctor says.

snlee, this is what happen to me when I was pregnant at 40 weeks. It feel like I had wet my pants. I called my OB and they say to go to the hospital because the only way to be sure is to get it check out by the nurse.

Thanks curly and Bobo. I called the office and have an appointment this afternoon to get it checked out. I''ll keep you posted.

Good luck at your appointment Snlee!

Can''t say when they will stop growing. My boobs didn''t increase in size that much and it got fuller throughout my pregnancy (not just in the first trimester). But I do agree that people won''t notice a change in your boob size. They would notice your belly before that.

Good luck at your appointment Snlee!
Thanks robbie.

Regarding your question about spotting. I had implantation bleeding/spotting for 2 days early on (before I got a BFP). A week of spotting seems like a lot to me. It''s reassuring it''s brown discharge so you know it''s old blood. If you haven''t, I would call your doctor just to make sure it''s ok. Everyone is different so hopefully it''s normal.

Snlee, I called already and they said that spotting is perfectly normal and that as long as it was brown it's nothing to worry about. They said if I start cramping, if it turns red/pink or if it turns into actual flow to give them a call.

Sometimes it's weird spotting, unlike what I get before AF and more like the first time I got my period and had no idea what it was. More like tinted CM perhaps?

ETA: I'm thinking this is just my bodies reaction to the increased hormones.

Keep us posted Snlee.

Regarding boobs, mine now arrive in a room at least 90 seconds before the rest of me (my belly used to do that).

I''ve been walking around thinking I was pretty hot stuff, chest-wise, until this morning when I paraded them in front of DH and he told me they were large and..."highly functional".

Mine grew a lot in the first month or two, then stopped until the birth. Now they have their own gravitational pull (but one that doesn''t work on DH).
25.gif

snlee, glad you called the doc. Definitely call whenever in doubt! I had my water break and it kept coming out but I didn''t have anything else noticeable when it came to labor until a few hours later.

snlee
glad you called the dr.
