Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Aww, Neatfreak. It''s okay. I hope the Dryel gets all your clothes nice and clean for you!

Hormones are a brat!!

Indy, try switching positions. I *really* got them when we went to the movies. Probably the way I was sitting.
33.gif

Courtneylub, don''t worry. My first u/s at 6 weeks (and some change) I had a 5 cm cyst
23.gif
I actually thought I was looking at my empty uterus (which was the same size). It was there looong before the baby. I have a history of them but it still freaked me out. Luckily it did not erupt and shrunk.

Re movement: She slowed down towards the end. Probably ran out of room. She also NEVER dropped. We both had to work extra hard to get her out.

Janine I posted some Bugaboo info for you in the baby stuff thread!

ETA everyone else, I am lurking and reading and doing good myself, but work is crazy and DH had two deaths in his family last week (paternal grandma and uncle) and at his uncle's funeral yesterday, his 90 year old grandpa (who lost his wife and son the week before) almost died too--he miraclulously awoke after two nurses in the family could find no vital signs for 5 minutes. It was out of a movie I swear, and the level of grief from the rest of the family when we all thought he had died was something I have never seen before. He said he saw his son when he died and his son told him to come back! Wild. There were three of ys preggos there and I thought all we need to top this off is for one of us to go into pre-term labour! Anyways, I am beat, but I'll post more soon.

I know I haven''t posted in here much, but I thought I should post this in here too since not everyone reads the TTC thread:

This morning, exactly a week after getting my bfp, I woke up to red bleeding with clots and cramping. I''m pretty sure I''m miscarrying.
39.gif
I called in sick to work today and just got back from having my first beta. I have to go back Thursday and they said that if the numbers aren''t dropping like they should then I''ll have to have an ultrasound to see if they need to do anything about it or if it will take care of itself. I knew this was too easy.

I think I''ll be taking a PS break for a while.

Awww robbie I am sending you big hugs right now. I wish I had something comforting to say to you right now. I hope that things go as smooth as possible for you over the next couple of days. Are you gonna find someone to spend time with you or do you prefer to be alone? If you want the comfort of someone please make sure you ask for it, ok?
I stayed away from pricescope after my m/c last year but you know how supportive all the ppl here are- don''t stay away too long, ok? And know that we are all thinking of you and hoping for the best. oh and maybe stay off surfing the web if you can. I was there too much last year and i think I made it worse on myself reading other stuff.
Take care Robbie , and again I am sorry for what you are going through.

Dreamer, Snlee, LIA, thanks for the reassurance.

Snlee, that sounds like a crazy first day off bed rest. Glad to hear all was ok and you now have a better number to call with questions. Congrats on hitting the 36 week mark -- I found it very reassuring to hit that point.

Lara, congrats on your pregnancy and your new home with lake and ducks – now that is what I call a push present!

Indy, glad you had a good trip. Sounds like you had fun letting dad spoil you a little. Yummy Ferragamos. The hat and booties are adorable!

Lindsay, glad to hear your little bean is measuring on track and has a good heartbeat. I’m curious to hear what you find out about the blood antibodies.

LIA, glad to hear you had a good weekend with the ‘rents. Hope you enjoyed the mani/pedi. Welcome to the green Uppa club!

Jen, hope you are enjoying your nesting. I have been trying to get projects done around the house the last couple of weeks, but everything takes 4 times longer than it should because I keep stopping to rest.

Pandora, glad to hear you are feeling a bit less stressed. Your office mate sounds like a good guy.

Lisa, congrats on hitting 1,000 posts!
36.gif
Sounds like you had a rough weekend with Olivia.

Neatfreak, I’m sorry, but I am just LMAO about the Walmart incident. We all have our crazy hormonal freakout moments -- no need to feel silly.

Janine and Curly, you two are getting so close. I can’t wait to see pics of your new little ones.

Nycbkgirl, glad to hear your numbers came back better this time.

Class n Sass, hope your appointment went well.

Blen, good to hear from you. Please post pics of your knitting projects when you get a chance.

Dreamer, sounds like your DH’s family had a really rough week. His grandpa’s story is just wild. Hugs.

Robbie, sending big hugs your way.

There''s not much to report here. I''m at 37 weeks today. My doctor thinks she will go the full 40 weeks. I''ve been feeling a lot of abdominal pains the past week. I''m not sure whether it is ligament pain, baby movements or BH, or maybe a bit of all 3. I think the pains that are very low might be BH, but I don’t know – they don’t feel quite like I expected contractions to feel. My belly feels 20 pounds heavier all of a sudden – just very cumbersome and painful to haul around. I am supposed to work for 2 more weeks, but it is getting harder to go in. I’ve been MIA here a lot because there is just too much to keep up with at home and work. I’m ready to not be PG anymore, but I really need the next few weeks to finish getting ready. We are taking our baby care basics class tomorrow night, so that should be entertaining. I’ll try to check back in later.

Awwww Robbie noooooo.
39.gif
So sorry to hear this. Please take care of yourself and don''t stay away too long, OK? Lots of support here if you want it.

Firstly, Robbie so so sorry about the complications. Let''s hope it''s regular old, scary 1st trimester bleeding stuff - what was the beta? I used to live and breathe beta #''s.

LIA - thank you, thank you for the input on the rash or whatever it is on Olivia. It started over a month ago on her hand like tiny water blister bubbles and now looks to be in the creases of her palm, sorta reddish at times and w/ crusty, dry peeing skin. There are small reddish bumps also dotting her under-forearm, a few dots on her rt. foot and some on her left knee. It seems to come and go in severity. Today it looks OK not worse. Then there are days it looks angry. She doesn''t scratch it at all. It doesn''t appear to get better or worse w/ certain foods.

Could it be airborne - cat dander or hair?

They ran 2 blood tests for food allergens and respiratory allergens (both adult tests).

Scabies huh? Wouldn''t surprise me since she puts those gubby little mits all over everything and we go to public places a lot. Yuck!

Eww, does this mean I might get it?

robbie, I am so sorry. Take care of yourself. Take all the time you need but know that we are here for you. Hugs.

NF, love the Walmart story. I can soooo relate.
20.gif
Hope your clothes smell all fresh and nice now!

NYCB Hurray for high betas! I have two words for you: twiiiiiin epidemiiiiiiiic. Once you signed on to PS, it was inevitable.

Blen have we seen this knitting of yours? Us amateurs demand pictures!

DD, so sorry to hear about so much loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your DH and his family.

Lisa Even if your kid were totally covered in scabies, I would totally snuggle her to bits. Scabies has got to be worth snuggling that munchkin. Your avatar kills me. Every. Time. You Post.

Kay, sorry you''re feeling heavy! My belly feels about 20 lbs heavier too. But then again, it is about 20lbs heavier. Well, 14 lbs anyway. Plus lunch.

Today, I felt like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and ate for lunch:

1 small spinach salad
1 bowl of tomato soup
1 small plate of pasta
1 serving of bean stew with rice
broccoli and sour stringy green things (don''t know what they were but they were yummy!)
1/2 liter of milk
bowl of pudding

Apparently, between now and 28 weeks is the time for healthy twin mega-weight gain... 1.5-1.75lbs per week. EEK! But apparently my body is on the case!

I feel humongous though. How much bigger can I grow?!

33.gif

Tip for those who need a pick-me-up to cheer their day:

Go on i-tunes, click on radio, then international, then put on "African Music Radio". Zouk & Soukous! Guaranteed cheer. Plus bopping in your seat.

I''m so revved to get, like, 15 hours more work done now.

I had scabies as a kid - it was itchy as heck (growing up in developing countries meant I got a whole heap of fun and pretty disgusting things - and probably explains my cast-iron immune system
1.gif
). You could see the marks where the mites burrowed in on the skin between where your fingers join together. I would have imagined she'd be scratching all over like crazy if that is what it was.

It was easy to get rid off - I remember being painted with lotion (literally a whacking great house painting paintbrush job
23.gif
). It worked after the first time, but they did it twice just to be sure.

dreamer, I'm sorry to hear about your losses. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Kay, congrats on 37 weeks! Your baby is considered full term now. Yay!

Lisa, I hope you find out what Olivia has soon and it's nothing serious.

Indy, you have a good reason to be like The Very Hungry Caterpillar (hehe). You are growing TWO babies in there! I am LOL at the music you are listening to! Hmmm it does cheer you up a bit huh? I never knew you could listen to international music on iTunes.

jen, how are you doing?

Teehee! Why the "saddest continent" makes the happiest music I do not know. But for unbridled joy, there ain''t no beating it in any other continent''s music. I grew listening to West and Central African music like this so I guess that helps too.

Indy- I asked nurse if she thought it could be twins but of course they can''t say for sure so gotta wait til 0ct 8th..grrr...

Does anyone know if the high beta numbers mean anything else? I have been so scared of m/c but my numbers are so good im wondering if I shouldn''t worry...

Ugh and then this happens to robbie..and im so upset now

Not to scare you...but crazy high beta numbers can mean either multiples or ectopic (and I think molar too...but that is just so rare). BUT that being said, yours sound like they were just high, not crazy high, or else they would have brought you in for an u/s right away (like they did with me) to rule out ectopic. And that being said high betas don't automatically mean multiples either. They can mean nothing.

Beta numbers are in no way an exact science, so I wouldn't worry about it as long as you aren't experiencing any weird things.

NY, as far as I know, the high betas don't necessarily mean anything at all! Even if it is twins at the moment, 70% of pregnancies that start out as twins have a vanishing twin. And I don't know whether it provides any protective feature with respect to m/c. I'm guessing not at this stage, since the chromosomal short circuit can happen a little later on.

BUT, no, you should NOT worry. You know whyyyyy? Because there is nothing you can do about it, girl! Nature will do what it does, and if you can't control it, worrying about it won't help. It will just make you a worried mommy. Of course there will be moments when you can't control it. Hey, I'm 18 weeks and my cubs STILL have a high risk of not making it and will until they are safely born, so I know how easy it is to let worry slip in.

But you gotta fight it! Think of the pregnancy as "tentative" if you can manage that emotionally. Or just kinda go with the flow.

I know you wanted this for a very long time, so it must be extra hard to relax. But do try to take your mind off it if you can. And remember that the risk gets lower and lower with each passing week.

Where are you at right now?

Instead of feeling scared, try marking each weekly milestone with a little celebration. Like "YAY! I'm 7 wks today! YAY!"

Oh hey, come to think of it... I'm 18 weeks today! That means I'm half way to term for monochorionic twins! Yay! Happy half-way gestation to you little cubs!

Happy Half-way House Little cubs!!! Goo Indy! you have a great attitude. Thanks
2.gif

Try not to worry too much NY. I know it''s hard.

DD - so sorry about the passings in the family. Stay strong, but not too strong
2.gif
- strong but restfull, how about that?
17.gif

I hope your appointment went well Class and Sass!

Lisa - hope Olivia''s skin issues clear up. Gosh, I have no idea what that is?!

15.gif

Kay - hang in there!

Indy - your meals sound akin to my feasts. haha. and I''m not a twin momma! (or am I???) LOL. Doubt it...but time will tell.

I got accepted to my midwives clinic. HOORAY! The team of women who will treat me also delivered two of my SIL''s kids. YEY! So happy. First appt is Nov 6th. I''ll be 12 weeks. (sooooooo far away!!!)
32.gif

um, I have nothing else to say. I''ll just go back to my bloated lurking now...

oh, and a shameless plug. I''m designing / trying to find a setting for a new ring and would love your insights! I posted a thread in Hangout https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/need-your-help-designing-my-rhr.95807/

come plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Janine and Curly -- 2 new PS babies any time now -- I can''t wait! (I bet you can''t either
2.gif
)

Snlee -- congrats on 36 weeks -- that''s a HUGE relief!! Thanks for askin about me btw :)

Kay -- you''re ridiculously close too -- wow! I know what you mean about the nesting -- it''s VERRRRRRRY slow-going here, but I''m doing what my body will allow. At least we''re getting things done right? :)

Indy -- LOVE the hat and booties -- adorable!

Robbie -- oh I''m so sorry to hear that
7.gif
Many of us have been there and if you ever need/want to talk more about it, just let us know. Take the time you need to heal and we''ll see you back here soon! (((hugs)))

NF -- The Wal Mart story is classic! I know it sucked at the time, but it''s fun to read about now!
2.gif
I''ve broken into tears 3 times in the last 4 days over nothing important
20.gif

nyc -- I suspected twins when my progesterone was high, so i hope you get some! We''re due for more twins around here
3.gif
And stop reading the internet -- your betas aren''t high enough for them to be dangerously high! relax!!!
2.gif

DD -- sorry to hear what your DH/his family/you have been through lately! I''m glad you are able to check in enough to let us know you are ok!

Blen -- definitely post pics when you are done!

Pave -- how are you doing?

Lisa -- my oldest boy got diagnosed with scabies once -- he had a topical lotion that made it go away right away, biut it smelled really good and he tasted it once (right after we used it and i was cleaning up) and we had to take him to the hospital to have his stomach pumped! Sorry for the run-on sentence(!) Apparently, it''s pretty toxic stuff, but the rash was gone immediately. I never got it, nor did my other l.o. at the time. Hope she feels better soon!

Well, today''s appt was good and irritating at the same time
20.gif
This WHOLE time, my baby a (marina) has been head down and we were just willing Sophie to flip. Well today Marina had her feet in my crotch and her head up by my ribs!!! UGH!! Sophie was transverse and had her head down by my right hip bone, but then a bit later when the u/s tech went to check heartrates, she flipped around and had her head up by her sister''s!! So the good news is that they can still move freely, but HOW?? haha I haven''t gained any more weight (really, 60 is enough!) and the u/s tech couldn''t find my cervix today. She''s found it no prob before and both of those times my bladder was empty, so *maybe* something''s going on with it, but maybe not... tomorrow is 34 weeks and I''m really excited about that! Oh and since we''ve never gotten a really good pic of Marina b/c of where her head has been before, u/s tech went ahead and made me a disc of some pics of her
1.gif

I took some new belly shots last night -- i''ll check them out and decide if they''re worth posting. Even the *nurses* were gawking at me today (after i came out of u/s, one had to run back and ask if there were 2 babies in me
3.gif
) The other doc in the office asked me today how many people make comments about my belly (his wife had over 8-lb tiwns!) and gave me a few funny comebacks to people who say stupid stuff! I really wanted to slap my MIL the other day though b/c she''s put on some weight lately and was telling me how uncomfortable she is -- can you imagine? I think her saying that bugged me more than ALL of the stupid comments I''ve gotten!! OK, sorry to ramble... i''ll check in again later or soon!

jen

Thanks ladies..u always provide me info for all my ?''s....ectopic is so rare for my case bc its in vitro so I don''t worry about that 2 much...but not being in control bothers me but I know that what will happen will happen and there''s nothing I can do 2 control or change that..so hard. Yes I do tell myself..today is 5 wks and every monday I plan to add the weeks.
Indy..I know its hard with twins bc its so risky but u are just so positive ...its a pleasure 2 listen 2 u ..keep the advice n stories comin sista lol

Yay Mela! That is awesome about the midwife. And I checked out your little orphan. That stone is AWESOME! I lerve it. I suck at designing though, so I'll leave that to others.

Jen, that's funny about the girl's faking you out like that with their flipping. How much do you want to bet they were doing it on purpose and they are all tidily in position when the time comes "Just kidding, mommy!" Post some pics of Marina! And you! And I totally think you have to share those good comebacks, for when our time comes.
4.gif

Indy, yay for 18 weeks! Happy half way point!

Jen, yay for 34 weeks tomorrow! That''s a big milestone! You''re getting sooo close! Wow, I wonder how those girls are moving in there! And missing cervix? How odd!

nycbkgirl, try not to worry. I know it''s difficult but it''s really out of your control and the worrying isn''t good for you or baby.

I can''t wait for the new PS babies!

I did some baking yesterday. Well, semi-baking. I was too lazy to make cookies from scratch. The baking didn''t do a thing. But the cookies are sure yummy!

I''m looking forward to my appointment tomorrow but I have a feeling I haven''t made any progress since last week.

Thanks for the compliment on my orphan Indy! The guy I bought him from offered me a job! hahaha. so funny. It wasn't expensive either, as it's SI2 and quite wonky. Which is perfect considering we have to tighten our straps now with baby on the way!

Suh-nuh-lee - do you mind I spell out your name phonetically!? Good luck with your appt and KEEP BAKING! The legend HAS to be true!
27.gif

Indy -- if my girls are anything like their big bros, they''re just messing with me
3.gif
OK, my fave story was a patient of his nearing the end of her pregnancy who ended up in an elevator with a lady who just kept saying "Oh my god, LOOK at your belly!!" Now apparently this lady had a bit extra in the behind and preggo lady just clicked on her and retorted " well my big belly will be gone in another week or two, you can''t say that about your ass!" It''s not a super-original (or nice, haha) comeback, but i think we all hit that point where we tire of the ridiculous comments. Haven''t people seen preggo people before? I get a lot of "i feel so sorry for you looks" whenever people see me, btw. Get ready, girl!
2.gif

Snlee -- baking already?? you''re gutsy! while you''re at it, will you bake for my family too? I keep asking nicely, but no one will do it
3.gif
I''m personally *terrified* to bake right now!

And just for you guys -- I can''t believe I''m going to post this -- here''s a bare-belly shot finally (you may want to protect your eyes....):

33w6d bare belly to post.JPG

Well hot damn, Jen! You are the cutest thing I ever saw. I hope I look that good at 34 weeks! Faboo!

mela, since you asked, I prefer just snlee. It''s pretty much laziness on my part (if I skim posts for my user name).

jen, you look great! I''m sorry you have to deal with dumb comments but really you look fabulous and you have two healthy babies in there, which is all that matters!

I figure I''m safe to bake since baby is full term in 6 days. I don''t know if I''m gutsy. Maybe I''m just foolish! I''m just so uncomfortable and can''t imagine being pregnant for another month!

Jen, you look fabulous!

Robbie, I''m so sorry. Hugs.

Jen you look amazing.. and by amazing I mean that you are a force of nature! It is truly amazing that two babies fit inside one person! I vote that when people annoy you, you give them a belly bump... like old-time wrestling.
