This baking thing...not working. I''ve been baking cookies all darn afternoon from scratch and not even one contraction...

I''m an avid lurker here and just wanted to say congrats Neat that you have a duedate!!! The end is in sight! I check in everyday and can''t believe you are still baking those bubs.

Back to the other baking, it''s a shame we all don''t live near your place, I rekon you will be churning out some serious baked goodies in the next week.

Good luck for next Friday, fingers crossed that the boys will arrive earlier though for you

Thanks Honey!

I will be churning the baked goods out, so anyone in the area, come on by! I LOVE to bake, so the possible labor inducing qualities added to the fact that I haven''t been allowed to do it in 2 months does make me desire to bake everything possible...let''s just say that the UPS man will be very well fed this week!

Very true! I am 36w 6d today, I don''t know how much longer I can hold out!

Hey Sabine--How are you doing today?

Neat--I can''t wait to see your boys! Are you going to have any help at home besides DH? Will family stay with you for a few days?

I went to my company''s holiday party yesterday and think I moved a little too much LOL. My body aches today and I can''t wait for 5:30 to go home and take a nap! (even though I woke up only 3 hours ago)

Thanks for all the warm wishes everyone!

Neat, congrats on a due date, and congrats on 10,000 posts! So exciting!

Pandora, you are just adorable!

Fiery, glad you had fun, hope you get a chance to take it easy and recover!

I''m doing okay today. I think I''ve accepted that there isn''t anything I can do until I have the ultrasound. Unfortunately, I have a bit of a rant. After telling me that the u/s will be on Monday and that she would call and leave a message with the time, I still hadn''t heard from her by 2 today. So I called, and the u/s isn''t actually until 1:45 on Tuesday. I wouldn''t be upset about that, except that dh had an interview scheduled for Monday and Tuesday in Pittsburgh, and he was able to change the one on Monday, but hasn''t been able to get ahold of the place for Tuesday''s yet. These are important interviews, and it might make him look bad to change them, so I wish he could have just left Monday''s and changed Tuesday''s.

Oh, and I did tell my mom, and it felt a lot better to do so. I''m still going to her graduation this weekend (I think it will be a nice distraction), but at least she will understand what I am going through. Hope everyone else has a good weekend.

Sabine, I''m so sorry you''re having to go through this. I''m thinking about you. If it''s any help at all, I had a little bleeding and way high hormone levels early in my pregnancy and my doctor thought molar pregnancy too. I went to an early pregnancy assessment clinic on the next working day (why, why are we hit with these things over a weekend?) and there it was confirmed that all was well. Never did get an explanation for the bleed or the high hormone levels, but my pregnancy went full term. I''m hoping that this will be the case for you too. Big hugs.

Jen

Sabine- im glad your doing ok and told mom...moms have a way of making things better ;)...I would throw a fit with the appointment thing..oh hun im so sorry u have to wait to so long...its so ridiculous!...but good u can take your mind off things and keep busy during weekend.

Sabine, call and raise some hell girl! Well, politely of course. But see if there is any way they can squeeze you in on Monday. Talk to a nurse if you have to instead of the receptionist. They always hold a few spots for last minute things and you are in enough limbo without having to wait until Tuesday!

Neat--I can''t wait to see your boys! Are you going to have any help at home besides DH? Will family stay with you for a few days?

I will have some help sporatically. My parents are flying in on Wednesday so they are going to get everything settled at my house and watch the dogs, etc. Unfortunately they will only be here for another 3 days after I leave the hospital as they are headed back to MA so my little sister has someone to come home to for x-mas. Then my MIL is coming from the 26-31st, then my mom and little sister are coming on Jan 6 or 7, with my sister staying a week or so and my mom staying for a few weeks hopefully!

So hopefully we''ll be covered! We also do have a number of great friends in town, so I am sure I will have more help when everyone returns from the holidays.

For those who will be pregnant in the summer, I highly recommend heading to Old Navy''s maternity section. I just got back and am completely amazed at the deals. I bought a pair of jeans, 4 pairs of capris, 1 long sleeve henley, a lace cami and 5 short sleeve shirts and my grand total was $54.54. All of the summer stuff is on major clearance and it was take an additional 50% off. All of the capris rang up for $0.99! I figured, sure I might get huge and these might not fit next summer, but it''s worth the risk for how cheap they were. The only thing I bought that wasn''t on sale was the pair of jeans. They look like real jeans, are comfortable, don''t fall down and have room for me to grow though so I couldn''t pass them up.

If you''ve shopped at Old Navy before, you probably already know this, but try on all different sizes. I got pants ranging from size 1 to size 6 and tops from xs to m. All of their things fit so differently even when they''re supposed to be the same exact thing!

Awww, I feel for you, it has to happen soon right??

Ugh just came back from the elective u/s I decided to have ...lady took forever and I don''t think she actually could see anything...she said girl with the first sac she saw...the second one was harder and I think she guessed girl as well..so im back to square one with not knowing gender
7.gif
...doc said one was boy...and it looked like it but it could havebeen cord or swollen labia...who knows..grr have to wait til anatomy scan dec 31st

NYCB girl, Sorry the u/s didn''t go the way you hoped. It''s hard when we get so excited and don''t get what we thought. I hope the 31st comes fast for you! They were happy with how the babies looked, right? Hang in there!

Thanks pave- they don''t look at anything in terms of health or fetal status...they are just techs and not from a docs office..so its just entertainment purposes but the babies were moving all over and stretching..and I guess they got sick of her trying to move them so they just turned over lol! But I had an u/s with my ob on wed. And everything looked good. Im just being impatient and nosy lol...I will sit tight and wait for the anatomy scan on dec 31st and hopefully get all the info there. ;)

Awe, sorry you didn't get a definitive answer, NYC.

DH and I were watching an episode of Baby Story (he says I force him, but he sits there willingly
3.gif
) and the couple found out during delivery and had the dad announce to the mom what it was. It seemed like such a special moment between the two of them and even more so for the dad getting to know first since all of pregnancy it's mom and baby. I really think we're going to try for this. I've been toying with it since the beginning, but DH has been saying he wanted to find out for nursery decorating purposes. I think he really likes the idea of waiting after seeing that episode though.

ETA: 11 weeks today!

NYC - that's a bummer!

Robbie - that was one of the draws of it being a surprise for us too.

DH's work has been having him work crazy hours lately - 13 hour midnight shifts and the like - and so we really haven't been able to see each other much since Thanksgiving. He still has a job, we just don't know when his last day is yet (although the crazy schedule ended with last night, thank goodness). But because of this, he hasn't felt the baby kick for a while. We were both home at the same time yesterday, and the baby happened to be active so I took his hand and put it on my belly. A few seconds later, he said "What did you just do!! What was that!?" And I told him that I didn't do anything, but that the baby just kicked. He said, "that wasn't a baby kicking... that was a kung fu ninja attack." I guess the kicks are getting stronger.

I've been having banana/mango smoothies every day since someone posted about smoothies here. Yum. I had an entire blender full of one yesterday.

keeping it a surprise:
I LOVED not knowing. I loved the excitement and suspense. I would have decorated the nursery neutral regardless since we are in our forever house (hopefully) and we might have one of each. I am too practical to make it one gender (same with big items). So that part wasn''t difficult. It was only hard when I saw ADORABLE baby clothes. Neutral baby clothes have come a long way but are no where near as cute. That being said we will find out for the next one. I think b/c if we have another girl DH will want a third and I need to prepare myself for that. Haha. Plus I do wonder how it feels to know.

Sabine...I am thinking of you today.

I think not knowing is really exciting..especially going into the waiting room and telling everyone!..but I decided to change my mind and find out because I am such a control freak...even though I plan on making everything gender neutral as well (just hate the whole pink/blue thing)...I still want to be prepared..now I think I should have waited afterall lol...I can''t seem to get definite results anyhow.

Hi ladies,

Just checking in. Although I have been doing everything humanly possible to start labor the boys are still happy as clams in there I guess. Not a contraction yet.

Hope y''all are having a good weekend! My DH and I are going to go out tonight to celebrate our last Saturday night as non-parents!

37 weeks today.

NF, I am SO excited for you! Enjoy the calm. TRUST me!

Hehe, thanks Tacori! We are trying our best to enjoy the calm...but I do better under pressure!

I did tell DH that we had to fit in all our favorite restaurants this week otherwise we wouldn''t see them for awhile unless they deliver!

Robbie - DH and I kept James as a surprise and it was the best decision. We would have done a neutral nursery in any event and we were able to avoid getting all blue or all pink baby clothes. The BEST moment of my delivery was when the doctor announced "it''s a boy!".

Hi a long time lurker here. In our paper today they had an article on the baby name site nameberry.com. What a cool site. Lots of cool stuff including picking names for twins etc.
I''m sure its been mentioned previously and if so I will *bump* for the new mums to be!

Morning update: No babies yet. I am going nutso over here though! Working on deciding what settings I want for my PS gift (ACA studs) instead to distract me...and baking away...I made more cookies yesterday and blueberry muffins this morning. No go.

Awww neat..1 week left ..hang in there ;)

Neat, sorry no babies yet

When''s your induction again? I''m making my Christmas cookies for DH''s family''s exchange today (well half of them at least since I apparently don''t have enough butter, grrr), so let''s put those towards your getting these boys out!

NF, it is such a hard wait! Hang in there. I had a girl who I just met tell me how horrible it was I was induced. Shouldn''t "force" her to come out blah blah blah...

Keep in mind *SHE* delivered at 36 weeks so that means I was preggo FIVE weeks longer than her. She has no idea. The last weeks are the hardest for sure.

NF, have you tried cupcakes? That did it for me! Waters broke as I took the last batch out of the oven.
9.gif

I just finished my baking and it was like the Hanukkah miracle, but with cookies! The recipe said it would make 4.5 dozen cookies, but for me it made 10.75 dozen! The dough just lasted forever even though I followed the directions about how big to make the cookies. Craziness. Completely awesome because I needed to make 10 dozen for my cookie exchange. Woohoo for being done! So, Neat, any contractions?
31.gif

NF, lots of labor vibes coming your way! Hang in there! Yay for your PS gift!
