Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Wow Peony, CONGRATS!!!! It''s so awesome how well being proactive worked for you! Sending lots of sticky dust your way!

Mrs, that is an AWESOME pic! I meant to say earlier that I''m sorry you are having to have a csection. Have you been adjusting to the idea? At least if you have to have one, you at least get to have it planned out so you can reap the *small* benefits, instead of having an emergency one after labor had already unexpectedly started!

NYC, glad you are finding that a pillow helps and I hope your pain stays away w/out having to take meds you don''t feel comfortable with.

Phoenix, I had to eat really filling foods often throughout the day to not feel sick too. Crackers definitely didn''t cut it for me. Now I''m kinda the opposite. I eat often throughout the day, but I get full really fast and feel sick if I eat a large amount.

Blen, that diaper is soooo cute! I''m glad your work shower was fun and your cupcakes survived!

My dh was oot this weekend, and I definitely spent way too much money since I''ve been bored. I bought 3 items of clothing from ebay that I probably don''t need. I went to Old Navy and bought about 7 plain teeshirts since they seem long enough to work even though they aren''t maternity. I bought a really cheap clearance shirt at kohls, but it didn''t even fit so I gave it away already (too lazy to return a shirt that was about $3). And then today, I went to the outlets with my pregnant buddy that is about to pop any day now, and got a nursing nightgown, a cami, and capris at Motherhood (I really LOVE the nightgown and will probably start wearing it as soon as the weather gets warmer) and a bunch of really cute baby clothes at the Carter and Gap outlets.

YEY PEONY!!!!!!! Congrats! I''m so happy for you. I too have followed your story (passively) and I am SO thrilled for you and your DH.

Sticky vibes indeed~!

Blen - yey for baby showers. What else did ya get

. Also, since you asked....my bellybutton has slowly been turning inside out for a few weeks. It''s almost fully out now! tee hee. I think its hilarious...and the skin is SO soft - I can''t stop touching it!

Mrs - that photo is GORGEOUS! You''ve totally inspired me to take full-term preggo shots.

My friend is a photographer and will do them for me. Did you take that yourself? It''s amazing!

Sabine - SO jealous of your shopping spree. Sounds like you did well! DH told me last week that we really need to start tightening our pocketbooks....um, we haven''t even STARTED shopping for baby things. (Bugaboo was a gift from my mom). OMG he is going to DIE when I actually start buying. haha. Poor Guy. lol.

Mela 29w2d - here is my bellybutton. hahahaha:

Congrats, Peony!!!

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just came back from our ultrasound. The tech said we may not see anything since I''m so early (almost 6 weeks) so she did a vaginal....

Anyway, As soon as she puts it in she says I need to go pee because my bladder is blocking the view. I do, then go back and we try again. She says, it''s kind of hard to tell because *they* are so little. I sort of caught that, buit it didn''t register...

Then she says, here they are guys...and then with her hand she makes a "two"...

TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! We are in complete SHOCK!. This was our firt month trying...we were speechless, well DH was speechless and I was laughing uncontrollably. We couldn''t hear the heartbeats but got to see them, just at 103 each, but she said it''s completely normal because they are so tiny. We go back in two weeks for a second u/s and to check the HBs!. There were two clear sacks in there, which the Dr says it''s a good sign. I don''t know anything about twins, so I''ll take is word for it!

My grandma on my dad''s side had twins, but I thought it didn''t get passed down on the dad''s side!!!!. This morning I told my sister "can you imagine if they tell me there are two in there?". She said she thought the same with both pregnancies and it was normal and there will be just one, to not worry!.

For some reason I have always thought I would have twins and have always, ever since I can remember, just been so in love with the idea of twins. Lats night I also told DH "what if there are twins?"...he said that would be "insane"...plus I don''t have any m/s or hard core symptoms, so it was probably just one little one.

I had started a journal for the baby and have been calling it "little bea, little one"...Now I have to write in it today and tell my babies the news that they are the "little oneS"!. I hope to one day give them the journal (when they are older).

This is CRAZY!!!!!!!! What an amazing blessing. It''s also a little scary, but I told DH we will get through it and we have to think positive!.

We are also dying to know if they are fraternal or identical!!. The Dr said maybe we can tell at the 16-week u/s. I geuss we''re doing a u/s in 2 weeks, then one at 11 weeks for the sequential screening and then one at 16 weeks. Not sure what they do after that...and not sure what the insurance covers either!.

This is just insane!!!!. I am in complete SHOCK. I keep staring at the u/s and seeing the two little bubbles, it''s crazy!!!!!!

Now I am packing up to go on a business trip...

Oh my GOD!!! Two little beans baking in there!!!!! TWO!!!!!!!!!

TWOOOOOOOOOOO BEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ahahahahaha

Congrats Mandarine!!!! Twins are wonderful, but I won't lie, the pregnancy is hard. Please let me know if you have questions I would be happy to answer them!

And as far as twins being "passed down", it can be passed down to a twin mom on HER dad's side of the family, but it can't be passed down through the babies dad's side if that makes sense. So it can come from anywhere on YOUR side, but if your DH had twins in his family it wouldn't increase your chances.

I don't mean to be debbie downer, but you might want to keep this news to only people you'd want support from as well. Unfortunately everything with twins is riskier especially this early. Just keep positive, you are about to go on a rollercoaster!!

Mandarine:

Congrats girle!

There are lots of Twin mama''s here on PS, most recently Neatfreak. It is double the excitement and fun, that is for sure! I am wishing you an event-free 9 months.

The doc''s comments about 2 sacs being good means that your twins probably each have their own amniotic sacs, though I am not sure that is a guarantee at the 6 week u/s. That is a good thing! Risks are higher when they share a sac (which would mean they were def. identical). They also may or may not share a placenta (again means they are definitely identical if shared, and also much more risky), but both frats and IDs can have their own sacs and their own placentas, so I am not sure what your doc meant about being able to tell whether they were ID or Frat at the 16 week US. If they share a placenta you know they are ID, but if they each have their own placenta then it still doesn''t tell you for sure!

If you want the play by play of some twin pregnancies you can troll back through this thread and read Neatfreak''s experience, and elailas and sk8rjens--to find when their stories are, you can look in the preggos in waiting thread and find their due dates and then start 9 months before that! Jen and NF were due around the same time, last Fall, and elaila was about a year or so before that). NF is still active here to answer questions, though her hands are full
2.gif
, and sk8rjen pops in occassionally on the mommy thread (though she has 5 kids and is BUSY), but elaila hasn''t been around in a while. All three had frat twins.

My aunt was actually told that placentas can merge and if babies are in their own sacs, the only way to know for sure is through DNA testing...or when your kids end up looking totally different, lol. I don''t think she ever did the testing, but my cousins are clearly fraternal.

Mandarine!

Wow, girl. Just WOW!!!!!

Prayers for a continued *great* pregnancy free of morning sickness.

You got a two for one deal, girlie!

I think sk8rjen had something similar, where when her girls were born they looked at the apparently single placenta and said, "Ooops maybe they were ID after all?" They are clearnly fraternal as well, but it was a scary thought that the doc''s could have been wrong all along, since IDs with a shared placenta are more risky and should have been monitored more!

Oh my gosh Mandarine, CONGRATS! That is so exciting.

With your news and Peony''s news this weekend, this has been an exciting last couple of days on here!

It's called "fusing", but if the doctors are looking for it at birth most of the time they can tell if there were 2 or not to begin with (they should be sending the placentas to pathology). But from what my doc tells me many times they don't analyze the placenta after birth of twins very well, which they should.

MANDY!!! Oh my effin'' gracious! Your head must be spinning! I''m so excited to read about this for the next 8 months! Good stuff!

Peony
Congrats and super duty sticky dust out to you!

I''m a little jealous that you got to see them already . . . I have my first U/S on the 23rd.

I wonder if I could be carrying twins since I felt like I double ovulated and my M/S is the pits. But even if I did ovulate two eggs, I think there''d only be a 25% chance that both would be fertilized and even less that both would stick (well, less than that just statistically, but obviously we''re starting from the premise that one did already). Can you tell I overthink things? But if I have just one in there, then I guess I just get M/S worse than the average person. Blech. Today has been especially bad. OK, enough complaining.

OMG, Mandarine, that''s nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big congrats you! That is soooo cool! Double the fun! I know that I have up to a 10% chance of twins with Clomid even though I was on the lowest dose, but I''m hoping that you got all of the twin dust because I don''t think I''m at all prepared for twins!

*************
Also, thanks SO much for all of the congrats and good vibes from everyone! I am feeling pretty hopeful that this one will be sticky because today is 12DPO and my test this morning was super dark. The test line showed up before the control line! All of the lines I got last time were ultra faint. The only thing that worries me is that I don''t feel any symptoms yet! I just have this continuous internal monologue of "OMG, I''m pregnant" over and over, but physically nothing has changed.

Mandarine, CONGRATULATIONS x2!!!! Wow, so exciting! I can''t believe all the PS twins, it''s pretty crazy. Wishing you all the best!

M- wow! Congrats and what a cool unexpected experience it must have been hearing that news! I too want to tell u that its very exciting but I ditto what Neat says about how hard it is ..so take it easy and I wish u all the best! :)

Wow Mandarine, that is so exciting and terrifying at the same time! How are you holding up with the news?

How are our 3rd tri ladies doing? Mrs, Blen, NYC, you guys hanging in there?

mandarine, oh. my. goodness!!!!!!

congrats but what a shock! I always thought twins was very rare (if not using fertilty drugs), but here on PS, it happens all the time!!

you should start your own thread so we can follow--I always peek here looking for updates from you :)
how fun and can''t wait to see how things progress, if it''ll be 2 girls, boys, one of each...eek, exciting!
