Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Well, Admin still hasn''t unlocked the Nursery Thread, so I''m going to post here - and then I can always repost updated ones later on the REAL nursery thread

.

Here goes. Himer''s Nursery (HimHer).

Again, the view as you walk into the nursery. *NOTE* Everything in the nursery is either a hand-me-down, Homemade, or pre-existing. There are a few things I bought...but I''ll point things out as I post

Here is the Nursery:

The bassinet will go into our bedroom when Himer arrives. My Mom made the drapes, I painted the wrought iron side table (garage sale find). The walls were this colour already.

Here is the crib and chair, both hand-me-downs. Chair is a little beat up from my SIL''s kids, but oh well.

Close-up of the crib. Mom made all the bedding/skirt/bumpers.
I'm still working on a piece of 'original art' for over the crib....

Reverse side and crib skirt are white with lavender polka-dots. LAVENDER. What a nice word.

Mobile that WILL go over the crib:

Now for the exciting part.

Across from the chair - is this wall of stuff. The white furniture was MY Childhood furniture!!! The change table was a hand-me-down that my dad painted for me. I special ordered the Kuster Jelly Change Table Mat from the UK, via the USA. Damn thing cost me more than the whole nursery

.

I put up the vinyl wall sticker of Bamboo and Hummingbirds because we had a hummingbird fly into our wedding reception and "drink" from DHs boutenneire. I thought that was special.

Also special, is my childhood music box (seen in the left foreground of the picture). It plays "Fur Elise" and I loved it growing up.

And a close-up of the Change Station. C''est Tout!
Now we just need a baby in it!

Sha - YEY on your u/s! isn't it just the sweetest sight and sound
2.gif
Have so much fun telling your parents on Mother's Day. How fun!

NYC - glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better, and that you have such a great network of supporters. I'm really glad to hear that.

China - looking FOXY! Loving your outfit too.
41.gif

Ebree - Looking fantastic! We don't get enough pics of our friend Ebree...thanks for posting! I'm all for nursery opinions. Post pics when you get 'em!

Mandarine - YEY for another great u/s! I'm looking forward to your next one too, if it means we get to find out what kind of bits they've got
3.gif
. tee hee.

Fiery - Let's hope that little bundle of chubby cheeky turns right around for mommy.
5.gif
So cute that you got to see her...
JEALOUS of your time in Vegas. I love it there.

***

Just got the car seat installed by the police. Love it! Baby can come ANY TIME NOW! hahaha.
Mela 36w3d

Sabine-When are you do? In August, right? Summer babies are great...except for the being pregnant during summertime
3.gif
. I full on expect to take my huge self and float in the pool beginning May until she''s here lol. As for hiccups, for me it feels like an annoying tapping that I can''t feel on the outside. I wasn''t sure if it was really hiccups until today when the u/s tech mentioned she had hiccups and asked if I could feel it. An OWT that our dept admin mentioned: the more hiccups the baby has, the worse labor will be
scratchhead.gif

Ebree-You look great
16.gif

NYC-I really hope you start to feel better soon
15.gif
. I''m soooo glad that you have your family helping you out though. Is Jackie still spitting up?

Mela-The nursery is perfect
30.gif
. I''ve decided you are having a girl. So Luna will love her nursery
31.gif
HAHA on Vegas. The guys in my department are "upset" that I''m going since I can''t drink. They think its a waste of a trip lol.

Oh and I don''t know if I said it again Mand but you are having 2 girls.

Sha-That is a wonderful way of telling your parents

!

Oh! I forgot to tell you guys a really random, non pregnancy related, but cute story.

So this morning I went to my appt in regular clothing and went back home to change into work clothes. When I got downstairs to get into my car and head to work, a little yorkie ran right up to my feet. There’s a little yorkie that lives nearby that always stops to say hello when out with his owner. I gave him some love as I usually do and headed to my car. I had my doors open and the yorkie jumps right up to my lap, curls up into a little ball, and fell asleep!

First of all, it scared the poop out of me. Then I realized this can’t be the same yorkie. There is no way that his owner would have allowed him to run out to the parking lot let alone jump into someone’s car. So I grabbed it and got out of the car. No owner in sight. I walked around to all of the nearby apartments and couldn’t find anyone. Finally a woman goes out to her patio to do something and I asked if this was her dog. She said yes! Apparently the dog must have gotten out from a slit in the patio. The yorkie is a girl and she was just the sweetest thing in the whole world. I wish I would have taken a photo of her on my lap. It was so funny (you know, after my blood pressure went back down from the scare haha). The woman kept saying she’s lucky I found her because we don’t live in the greatest neighborhood (unfortunately) and the dog could have easily been stolen. I can’t lie…the thought of taking her home did cross my mind

Thank you Sha, mela and fiery!

fiery, I am so with you on the pool thing. Our housing development has a clubhouse with a pool, and I''ll be taking advantage of it veeeery soon. I just need to find a maternity swimsuit. Oh, how fun.
40.gif

mela- You''ve done an absolutely beautiful job with Himer''s nursery! I love everything you''ve chosen. It''s so soft and soothing.

I''ll try to make a collage of fabric swatches I''m considering for the curtains and post them some time today. Husband is all "whichever you like..." which makes me even more indecisive.

Sabine- I haven''t felt hiccups yet either, or at least that I know of. Fiery- are they consistent like hiccups? Meaning the "taps" are every few seconds? Unlike kicks which are random?

Ebree- Oh you are SO cute. Carrying perfectly! PLEASE post pics of nursery ideas!!!!!!

NYC- Every day you will get better and better, you are on your way! You''re doing great. Hang in there. Question: did I remember correctly that you hadn''t told your in-laws you were preggo, or maybe were waiting to tell them about when they arrived till after to avoid drama? If so, how''s that going? Sounds wonderful that you are getting that much help though!

Sha- YAY, isn''t that the best feeling? Such a cute way to tell your mom!

Mela- LOVE the nursery. Of course. It''s so soothing and elegant, yet that wall and the bedding is appropriately whimsical and cute for a baby. I am not surprised, but it''s seriously perfect. Thanks for posting!!!! C''est magnifique!

Fiery- Too cute about the Yorkie, though I would be very freaked out if that was my dog. I think my wiggle worm is breech too, but it''s so early I''m not worrying about it.

Ok, I am having the hardest time finding bedding I like. Here are a few options that I "like"- not sure that I "love" any of them. Thoughts????

Dwell Cowboy:

http://dwellshop.com/b2c/ecom/ecomEnduser/items/xt_itemDetailNF.aspx?oFamily=COWBOY&siteId=1&itemNum=B520-18-44&bulkexists=0

Organic Dinosaur:

Monkey:

http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/nb180/index.cfm?pkey=cboys%2Dnursery%2Dbedding%7Cb

I was trying to go with some sort of animal theme- the wiggle worm will be a LEO most likely, so already have a few stuffed lions. Liked the idea of lions, elephants, etc. But I don''t want too cutesy or circus-y look.

Any thoughts MUCH appreciated!!!!

Sha!!! You saw your baby for the first time today! How very exciting!! I can only imagine the feelings that come up when you *see* there is a baby growing in there! Wow... so happy for you!! Your mom will *love* Mother''s Day this year, that''s for sure!!

****
Ebree and ChinaCat, Lovely mommies to be! So cute and stylish you girls are! And Ebree, I love the background! Spring has sprung!!

****
Mela, Totally in love with your baby''s room. Everything our child will have will predominantly be hand me downs, too, and I think when you refinish stuff and put the time into, it just shows lots of love. It''s gorgeous! Love the mobile!! Where did you find that???

****
(Who is it that is having a cupcake baby room? Is it Courtney? I remember talk of a cupcake mobile... and I''m excited to see it!)

Forgot: Mandarine YAY for the ultrasound being good today! And yay for getting those results right away!! Baby A sounds like a girl to me!!
9.gif

China,

All three of your posted bedding sets are cuteness, but I think I like the Monkey theme the best. There''s the additional pop of color from the monkeys, which I like. Besides, Monkeys and Lions go together well....

Alll three are great choices, though!

MELA, your nursery is beautiful! I love all the personal touches!

Mela your nursery is GORGEOUS! One thing though...you will want to shorten those lovely curtains considerably once Himer starts crawling. They grab at EVERYTHING and can easily pull long curtains down on top of them.

China-I lurve the dinosaurs set. The colors are so soft!

Mela I love the nursery!!! Very cute! You did a great job, it looks like a special place
9.gif

China I love the cowboy set (slightly more modern) and the colors in the money set!!!!...love those colors together!.

***

As far as the questions about the sexes...well, I think it's a boy and girl!. I actually think Baby A is a boy and Baby B is a girl. Not sure why, but both DH and I feel the same way. I don't call them by any gender though, just in case I'm wrong!
2.gif

Here are today's pictures of the little ones!!

Here is the little precious A...

(ETA: Not sure if you can see, but his/her little hand was waving at us, you can't see the fingers here but we saw them on the screen

Omg, how cute!

Great pics, Mandarine! This is at 12 weeks, right? It's amazing how much babies grow between 8 and 12 weeks. They're beautiful!

Mela - I love the nature theme you have going on! And all the colours you chose are so soothing and relaxing. Baby's going to love being in there. And how nice that your baby will be able to use your own childhood furniture! That makes the nursery even more special.

*********************

Thanks for the comments on my ultrasound today, gals! I'm really excited!
1.gif

Awww, Mandarine, great profile shots! They''re already darling.

Thank you Karen, Ebree and Sha!

Sha, congrats on your ultrasound! the first ultrasound is just so exciting...I mean, they all are, but that first glimpse that confirms that there *is* actually a baby in there is just so special
30.gif

This was today, so 12 weeks and 4 days. It is crazy how much they grew from last Monday! I think from 8 to like 18 weeks or so they grow like crazy!.

Cool nursery Mela.
I love the closet section w/ the bamboo stencil and the mobile
30.gif

And that picture of you and hubby is sweet.

Cute bellies Ebree and ChinaCat.

Awesome u/s Mandy!
Can''t believe how much your little beans grown in a couple of weeks.
Enjoy your "honeymoom" trimester.

Hmm....Courtney hasn''t checked in since her last post early this morning?
I wonder....

Thanks for all the compliments girls!
2.gif
I'm enjoying it now...before it gets trashed with slop and toys, and before I have to babyproof it (Neat: yup. I know it about the drapes. Oh well!)

Fisher - thanks for the mobile compliment! It's "Lambs and Ivy" which is sold at BRU. It's really pretty IRL, albiet maybe a touch feminine if it's a boy. Too bad. Our little boy will be in touch with his sensitive side with a mom like me.

Fiery - crazy about the doggie. So lucky you found it's owner...or are you?`
27.gif

China - I love the Monkey's!!!! They are so fun and lighthearted. Love them
3.gif

Mand - gorgeous little people you're growing! They already look so developed. Congrats momma!!

Ebree - you're doing whales for your nursery right?
31.gif
I really hope so!

Oh, and Fisher - Courtney is doing cupcakes and polka dots. It's just tooooo cute. Alila's going to love it.

ETA: We may as well start the guessing game:

Mela's "Himer" is a...

Girl
Fiery

Boy
Mela

Mela- I do LOVE that mobile. So gorgeous. In fact, who was it on here that liked the bedding that was kinda boy-ish and was wondering how to make it more girly? Maybe it was argyle or something? Anyways, I had suggested adding purple and butterflies and this is EXACTLY what I was thinking of!

Hmm, I kinda think you''re having a girl. But I tend to trust the instincts of the momma-to-be, so hmmmm.

courtney just wanted to pop in and say that i am thinking of you and your little girl. you will be holding her very soon.
