ChinaCat,

Yes, yes I do always vote girl! I almost voted boy for Dreamer, but nah... always girl for me!!
9.gif

Courtney- well, best of luck for tomorrow, then! I hope you are able to get some good sleep tonight. Can't wait to meet Alila!!!

Mela- All of our rooms have long drapes that I really like and do not want to replace/hem, and we have 3 dogs that have plenty of toys! I am of the same mind frame as you- baby will have to learn right/wrong quickly, and I am prepared to go blue in the face teaching! I wonder if the moms reading this are thinking "haha, they'll learn!" Probably
emsmile.gif
!

China- Major steal on the bedding! It's really cute!

Mandarine- Happy Birthday!!!
emcake.gif

ETA: EBree- those lanterns would look great with our argyle nursery bedding
27.gif
! Super cute!

Pandora- very sorry to hear about DH's grandma. (((Hugs))))

So I will be 17 weeks on Thursday and am feeling in a bit of a lull. When does the belly really start growing? Pants are tight, and I only have about 2 pairs for work that are still very comfy, but no baby bump yet, just pudge. I am back to worrying if everything is okay (is baby growing still?). No other signs that something is wrong, but getting anxious to feel movement or something to reassure that bambino is still baking away. Doc appt is next Friday, and I am anxious to hear the heartbeat again. I'm not usually such a worrywart, and I'm sure it does no good, but gosh- it's so hard to be calm when you have NO idea what's going on in there! Ah, the control freak rears her ugly head again! Then the following friday (5/15) is the ultrasound to find out boy or girl...yippee! We are prrrrrretttttyyyy sure we will find out, but not 100%. I know I haven't posted belly pics (because I still don't feel like there's anything to show, but I am far from skinny to start with!), but anyone want to guess for me? Fishie said girl (but always guesses girl- hee
emwink.gif
)- anyone else? To recap, got KU by DTD at midnight morning of O, had NO morning sickness AT ALL, not really even any cravings yet, baby's heartbeat was 160-165 at 12 weeks but that's so early...I have NOthING to go on! As far as a "mother's intuition" I was sure it was a boy, then decided that that was only because I am kinda hoping for a boy, then came to the conclusion it's a girl...now I've decided my brain is overpowering any intuition that might be in there, and I just don't know!!! Ha- I'm a mess!

Yup.

In all seriousness though I think you really either need to pin them up (good idea Mela) or get new ones when they are learning to crawl and pull up. They can really hurt themselves if they pull down a curtain rod on top of them-you really don''t want that headache. My best friend babysat for a little girl whose mom didn''t think that long drapes were a big deal. One day the mom took her eye off the girl for 2 seconds and the curtains (and rod!) came crashing down on top of her. Luckily she was fine-but not something worth risking IMO.

Courtney~Just wanted to say sorry things didn''t go as planned today (although Yay for upgraded earrings) but you''re WAY better off inducing in the early morning! I was induced in the afternoon and had T at 4:30 am. Yuck. Good luck tomorrow!!

natalia~I didn''t look "pregnant" until I was probably 24 weeks. It''s normal and it''s perfectly healthy and you''ll "pop" soon enough.

As for the curtain issue-babies will want to "play" with them. Guaranteed. I have long panels in my living room and now that T is old enough to know what "no" means they''re no problem but when she was younger I had to tie them up and what not. A 7 month old who wants to pull up on curtains can''t be taught "no" yet and sees them as something fun to play with and it becomes dangerous if you''re not right there to move baby away from them at all times.

Courtney, good luck. I agree an early morning induction is better. I was induced with Jake with a check in time of 6:00am and he made his debut around 1:30! Just think tomorrow this time you'll be holding your sweet little one!!

ETA: i just went back and looked at your byebye belly pics. you are adorable. i'm just so excited for you b/c I remember so vividly what's it like to go to bed knowing when you wake up you get to go have your baby!!

Everyone who commented on my belly photo- thank you! You know how to make a gal feel small (in the GOOD way!).
9.gif

China,

Thank you! I'll keep an eye out for you, too. We can help each other decorate!

natalina,

They definitely would! The lanterns were super cheap- $2.10 a piece for the 12 inch. The website I got them from (not sure if I can link to it per PS rules, google "paper lanterns" and it's the first result!) has a bunch of different sizes and colors.

As for the sex, I'll go ahead and guess BOY for you too. My little boy's heartbeat was in the 160s until week 20 or so, but I think heart rate is more baby-specific than sex-specific.

Well, I made my 5:30 call and I''m supposed to call back at 9am. To rebel, I''m eating a piece of toast.

Awe, sorry you''re still waiting, Courtney! I plan to rebel too. DH and I have already discussed sneaking food in to the hospital. Whoever decided that women shouldn''t eat in labor is nuts. You need to keep your strength up! Good luck today!

Grrr....Courtney, how FRUSTRATING! Enjoy your toast! How 9 is the magic time for you! And you looked great in your last baby bump pic! Good luck! Sending mucho baby dust!

Natalina, I started getting a bit of a bump around 18/19 weeks and really popped by about 22-23 weeks. I remember how frustrating that time was, especially because I felt like I should start feeling movement, but I wasn''t. Once that happens though, it gets lots more exciting, plus the big u/s!

Oh and I just lost my plug when I went to the bathroom a few minutes ago. I''d wondered if I would lose it or if I already had.

DH called the hospital back and pretended like he didn''t know that I had called.
11.gif
He got a little more info out of the girl because he''s just good like that. She said there''s a good chance I''m getting in today, just not sure when.

Courtney,

Happy baby's birthday today!!! Will be thinking of you at work!! Yay!!! Alila's on her way!

And you lost your plug? Okay, never been there or done that... but would that imply that you've dilated more? Eeek!! How exciting. Maybe when you call them at 9, you can say, "My baby's on her way, sorry this scheduling thing didn't work out perfectly for you, but my plug fell out. Let's get on this. Thanks."

I pray blessings to your growing family!!!

(I would have had more than a piece of toast!!)

****
Yes, Natalina... I vote girl. Eventually I have to be right.
9.gif

Neat and Burk- Okay, so must find a way to tie up the drapes! Got it! Definitely DO NOT want the rod bonkin'' the little one on the head! Thanks!

Courtney- well, looks like today is the day! Maybe you''ll end up going into labor on your own and they won''t have a choice! Good luck! (p.s. Can''t wait to see Alilia AND those new sparklies!)

Ebree- thanks for the tip on the lanterns! I''m offf to google next! And thanks for the vote!

Burk and Sabine- thanks for the reassurance on my belly. I just can''t wait to look preggo instead of puffy! I never realized it could take this long.

Fishie- okay, tally is one vote boy (EBree) and one vote girl (you)!
3.gif
I can''t vote. Too clueless.

Court - YEY on losing your plug!! I SO want to lose my plug - mostly because I LOVE "gross" stuff and really want to see and feel what a plug is like. lol. Anyhoo...I''m happy for you because it means that Alila is getting ready for her big decent. HOORAY!
36.gif
Get that hubby to sweet talk the receptionist more. Use your assets, right?
31.gif
Good Luck Girlie!!

Ebree - D''oh! Forgot to say how much I LOVE the lanterns. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I recently went to a Chinese restaurant that had done all different coloured umbrellas on the ceiling. They were all so beautiful and it was so cozy and serene yet really exciting for the senses. I was thinking, at that time, how I wish I had done something cool like that in the nursery. Anyways - great idea with the lanterns. Loves it!

Natalina - Totally normal to feel the lull. I did too, although I cannot remember when it was. You WILL pop, and you WILL feel the baby, but I guess like everything pregnancy related, patience is a virtue.
20.gif
. Hang in there. Oh, and I''m guessing BOY for you. For no particular reason.

Curtains - I guess I''ll pin them up while the child is learning how to crawl/walk.
16.gif

Off to the middies today. Hoping that my instinct is right and the baby has descended a bit. I feel a lot "lower". I explained to DH that this friday I''ll be 37 weeks, which means "full term", which means baby can come at any given time and be considered totally "normal" (not premie). The look on his face.
6.gif
Like, WHAT? ALREADY? Uh...yah. Bozzo.
Then, all through the night if I shifted positions or got up to pee, he bolted straight up "are you ok? Is it the baby?"
20.gif
Oy. We have a panicker.

Mela 36w5d

Mela- Thanks for the info and the vote!

Wasn''t there someone on here that considered the name Layne/Lane? Maybe CDT? I can''t find it...I think it was for a boy. But I kinda like it for a girl and DH hasn''t veto''ed it (miracle). What do you all think? Lanie when she''s little, Layne/Lane as she gets older? Hmmm.... We really want a name that is mature and kinda sophisticated, but has a nickname for when he/she''s little. Just throwing it out there...

Unfortunately losing my plug won''t get me in there any faster. You can lose it pretty early and not have the baby for weeks. It just means my cervix is ripening (thinning).

Eww, Mela! LOL It wasn''t pretty, I''ll tell you that and DH said "can''t they call it something else besides mucus plug?" So I said "Yeah, bloody show." hehe

Hello ladies!

Looks like I''ll be joining you! J and I got pregnant on the first try! I got a BFP this morning at CD36, 18DPO!

Anchorpreggotestsweb.JPG

Sorry about the size of the pic, but the digital says pregnant/enceinte (I''m in Quebec). I''m in shock! It took my parents 7 YEARS to conceive and my brother is on his 2nd year... So, I''m shocked.

I''m telling DH tonight! My due date is probably going to be January 1st or 2nd, so we might have a New Year''s baby!
9.gif

Yay Anchor!!!! Congratulations!!!!!! So happy for you! Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!!

Courtney-Did you celebrate the loss of your MP a la Blen style? That story still cracks me up.

Natalina-I have to think about a guess for you. I didn''t really feel that my belly had popped until yesterday when I tried on a dress and spent 10 minutes laughing at myself and my belly. It''ll come.

Anchor-Congratulations
36.gif
36.gif
That''s wonderful news!!

Courtney: Today is your day, sorry it''s ALILA''s day!!!! Crossing everything that you get in early this morning and all goes well. How are you feeling?

Natalina: I think I''ve just popped in the last few weeks or so- so maybe 22-24 weeks? Around 20 weeks is when I finally had to start buying some maternity pants- but only for work. My regular clothes still fit until last week or so. So for me, 20 weeks things changed but people have only started commenting last week or so. It will happen like overnight. It''s cool but weird to have your physicalness be public for comment. Try to enjoy the "lull", especially if you are feeling well. 17 weeks, wow! Just keep looking forward to the 20 week scan, it''s so cool. And yes, I did worry that baby wasn''t growing but he/she is still pretty small right now. And I am going to vote BOY for you!!!! No real reason- but your pregnancy has sounded like mine so far- no m/s, not showing yet, etc. And I had the boy intuition and I was right. But I love the name Lane for a girl. (And CTD, I still think "Layne" is cool for a boy too).

Mela- Oh god, my DH does that EVERY night. I get up once a night to pee, every single night, and every single time he asks "Is everything ok? Are you feeling ok?" Yes, silly! Just have to pee. Again.

ANCHOR: CONGRATS GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
36.gif
Welcome to the crazy and wonderful ride that is the preggo board. So excited for you!!!!!!

Courtney Seriously, I think you should eat up until you go to the hospital. It could be 24 hours before she is born! In labour you won't want to eat but you need strength. Someone on here talked about the whole no eating rule once... hospitals don't want it in case you need an emerge c-section, but the research suggests that the risk of aspirating on barf in that case is soooooo low that the precaution in silly. They know how to deal in that situation anyways! Just my 2c.

ETA Actually, hopefully you are at the hospital now! LOL!!

Wishing you lots of sticky dust!

This is why we plan to sneak food in.

Congrats again, Anchor! I''m so excited for you!

Update: There''s one person ahead of me, so a room should be available in the next 2 hours. A couple of women just delivered, so they need to move them and clean the rooms. Ugh!! Come on already!!!

Congrats, Anchor!! I remember you a little bit from the BWW thread.

Dreamer, I''m going to have a snack right now!

Yay for just two more hours Courtney! But seriously...I ditto the "come on already"

How come you''re not allowed to eat in labour? We are told to bring snacks and things with us and we get the offer of breakfast/lunch/dinner if we feel like it throughout labour so as to keep your strength up. The hospital has just finished a major research project into the effects of eating on labour and deemed that it doesn''t affect outcome - however lots of women (about 30%) don''t feel like eating at all.

Courtney - Finger''s crossed that today is the day!

Anchor - Congratulations! Fantastic news!
36.gif

Mela - Hoping bebe has dropped a bit! I can''t decide if mine has or I''m just wishing it so... I also can''t work out if I''m having loads of braxton hicks or if it''s the baby bracing herself against me. I''m kind of confused!

Congratulations, Anchor!
36.gif
I'm so happy for you.

Courtney- I hope you're able to get in nice and (still sort of) early this morning! I bet you can't wait to hold your baby girl in your arms.

natalina- Love Lane for a girl or a boy.

mela- Low baby vibes! And thank you for the compliments on the lanterns! I totally stole the idea from other baby rooms...I figured it'd be a cheap way to put some colorful interest in our super white room.

29w6d (30w tomorrow!)

Congratulations Anchor!!!

Finally! Leaving for hospital now!

Wow, Courtney! Hope the next time we "hear" from you, little Alila will be in your arms!!!! Wishing you labor dust and a safe and healthy delivery and baby!!!!!
