Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

So, a girl unfriended me on Facebook because I''m pregnant. She tried for two months, is currently 4w pregnant, and unfriended me because she thinks I didn''t deserve to be pregnant. This really bothers me, but Paul said it''s her deal, and not mine, so...
6.gif
Amber I''m really sorry that happened to you. How dare she think you don''t deserve to be pregnant! At least now you know what kind of friend she really is. We''re all thrilled for you and Paul so bleh to her.

YAY welcome to the world Alila Marie. She is just beautiful. and you look great too. rest up mama!!! CONGRATS!

Natalina--not a stupid question...it''s one I''ve been thinking about also. I''m 12 weeks today---so technically I''ll be in my 13th week tomorrow. I think....

Welcome Alila!!

Courtney she is absolutely beautiful and I can only hope to look as radiant as you do after giving birth!

ETA: Stupid question of the day- If I am 17 weeks pregnant today, I am in my 18th week, right? All these books having different formats of marking progress is scrambling my normally somewhat-intelligent, now preggo-confused brain!
emembarrassed.gif
emcrook.gif
Yes you are in your 18th week! It is confusing. Especially if you sign up for email alerts. I always look at an email going 30 weeks...but the other email said 29!

Welcome Baby Alila! Courtney, you both look gorgeous and glowing! Congrats! Can''t wait to hear all about it!

Pandora so sorry to hear about your dh''s grandma.

Whoever asked about the weeks, yes, if you are 17 weeks you are in your 18th week of pregnancy.

Amber, hate to say it, but that girl sounds like a selfish pain! I''d be happy to not have to have her taint your happy life moments any longer! How ridiculous!

Since I have nothing exciting that''s pregnancy related to share today, I''ll leave you with this lovely story. Apparently, a 9th grade girl was caught this morning giving a guy a hand job in the cafeteria before 1st period! Oh how I love teenagers! Can''t wait to have one of my own!

Congratulations, Courtney!!!!! What a gorgeous pic!! Cant wait to hear all about it!!!!

Courtney, congratulations and welcome to baby Alila! You look fantastic. Hope everything went smoothly. Looking forward to hearing your story.

WOW! That''s starting the day off right!
23.gif
Holy crap. Now, what was *I* doing before first period? SLEEPING.

CONGRATS Courtney!!! She''s so beautiful!! And you look great girl!!

Pandora - so sorry to hear of your DH''s grandmother''s passing.

Fiery - i know!! I can''t believe how close i''m getting...33 weeks today! Although, with all the pain i''m in I cannot wait to be done w/ this pregnancy!! Labor can''t come soon enough as far as I''m concerned at this point!

Natalina - I was the one considering Layne for a boy, but because it can also be a girl''s name, my DH ultimately nixed it
8.gif
I still LOVE it for it boy (or girl). But my DH just isn''t comfortable w/ it as his son''s name...boooooo....

and we still have NO name! hehehe.....I hope this kid looks like a name when he comes because otherwise he will be just called baby! We did joke about naming him Stone since the kidney stone situation...hehe...surprisingly my mom likes it!!! so weird....she doesn''t like Warren, but she''s ok w/ Stone??? Too funny...that woman always surprises me.

I find out tomorrow if I''ll be pulled out of work for good, looking likely at this point...but we''ll see!

Oh Courtney! You both look so beautiful! Can''t wait to hear the birth story. Congrats!

Hey guys, does the shiny stuff on Alila''s eyes mean it was vaginal delivery or do they do that for c-sections too?

Awww, you both look gorgeous!!! Congrats, and can''t wait to hear the story.

A friend ''unfriended'' you on facebook...are you kidding me! How old is your friend, five??? A true friend would be excited for you!

tao, yeah, I was shocked! All of a sudden I was thinking, ''Huh, I haven''t seen an update from her...'' and checked my friend list- she''s gone! She''s still friends with the 27 OTHER people we have in common, and her ''unfriending'' occurred simultaneously with my announcement to the close friends. I also read her blog saying she hates all pregnant women, and that she knows she deserves it more (yeah, I DID try for a whole YEAR), and that it''s not fair. Previously, when I had blogged about how hard this TTC thing was, and how long it took me, she replied, ''Wow, that''s my worst nightmare- I hope it doesn''t take ME so long!'' Thanks.
20.gif
6.gif
Wow it was THAT girl? Yikes! Definitely not a friend anyway. Your better off without her.

Pandora- I'm so sorry about your husband's grandmother. Thinking of you both.

Amber- Good riddance to that 'friend!' What a childish thing to do. You absolutely deserve to be pregnant. How is your little dragon, by the way?
1.gif

Sabine-
23.gif
How proud those parents must be. Ooof.

cdt- Still no name, huh? I just typed Warren, Lane, and Stone into Nymbler and out popped: Grant, Spencer, Cole, Reid/Reed, Clark, Drake, Russell, Graham, Sutton, Holden, Walker, and Simon. Any of those sound good?

30 weeks today! I'm going to celebrate it by catching up on my sleep. I was up almost once an hour thanks to rib pain last night and am exhausted. It didn't help that I dreamt of the birth video we watched in birthing class yesterday. I was NOT prepared to see so much. DH was as cool as a cucumber throughout, though, which was awesome.

Congratulations Courtney!!! Welcome baby Alila!!! Can''t wait to hear your birth story.

CDT, I can''t even imagine the pain you''re in! We don''t really have a boy name either, and I''m pretty sure it''s a boy. Like, almost 100% positive!

MIA: Yep, the same person. Apparently she thinks I''m pregnant to hurt her.
20.gif
She just keeps getting better, she''s what, 25?

Ebree: Dragon is doing well! Still queasy a lot of the time, and now I''m having to "arrange" my boobs in my bras (meaning, I put the boobs in the cups, and have to start tucking things in- FUN). I''m so cute now, like a daytime prostitute. Congrats on 30 weeks!! So exciting!

Hey everyone: pregnancy is supposed to give you vivid dreams, right? I literally had a dream that I woke up because I had to pee, was very tired, and got ready for work. I woke up having to pee, was very tired, and got ready for work. Super depressing dream.

Congrats Courtney!!!! My girl was 7lb 2oz too! You look WAY to good for just giving birth. I looked like I was ran over by a truck for like 4 weeks PP.

Congrats to all the new preggos. I don''t have time to keep up with this and the mommy thread but I wish you all a healthy and happy 9 months!!!

Ebree - thanks! We actually both like Clark and it is on our ''list'', although we still don''t LOVE it, which is why we are struggling. I really like Reid, but DH does not. He likes Russell, I don''t
9.gif
see our problem?? hehehe...

Amber - boys name are tough I think. We girl names picked right away, but boy names are really causing us a problem!

Courtney - You and Alila both look beautiful. I am looking forward to hearing the birth story.

Anchor - Welcome to the preggo thread. Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months.

Robbie - so sorry to hear about all the drama at work, I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Amber - stories like that are one of the reasons I refuse to join facebook, I just can''t deal with the high school-like drama it seems to bring out in people.

CDT and Amber - I am in the opposite boat as you two - we can only agree on boy names. However, I and everyone else I know (except DH) have a feeling that it''s a girl. We are going to find out, so I think we are holding off on talking about names until we know what we are having.

I am still here, I haven''t been posting much because work has been insane (I''m an attorney and was working 15-18 hour days the last two weeks). I wasn''t doing much besides working and sleeping. Thankfully, that''s over for now. I am 11 weeks today. We have our next appt on Monday and the NT scan on Tuesday. I can''t wait to see our little bean again. I haven''t gained any weight yet, but I can no longer fit into my work pants and I have a definite little pooch. Jeans and other clothes still fit fine, but I wear tailored, higher waisted pants for work with no stretch and I lost the battle to with them this week. I visited my mom last weekend and she took me on a little shopping spree to Pea in the Pod - that place is pricey. I''ll be doing the rest of my shopping elsewhere, although the stuff I got is adorable. I am seeing that it''s going to be hard for me to find maternity clothes that work for me since i am so petite - 5''1". Any suggestions on places that sell petite maternity clothes? I also need clothes that are pretty professional looking, and that seems tough as well.

DH''s brother and his GF recently got engaged and they came over on Monday night. They are having a destination wedding and asked DH and I to be in the wedding and also asked our unborn child to be ringbearer/flowergirl. We''ll have to see, since the little one will only be 1 1/2 when they get married, but it was a sweet gesture.

We had the opposite problem! Boy names were so easy for us, but DH is SO picky when it comes to girl names.

If you haven't visited Nymbler or another name generator, it might be worth it to play around for a few minutes and have it spit out name after name. It might generate something you haven't really thought of before. Another thing that I've found helps is to roll each choice around for a few days both in your head and out loud. Sometimes a name won't feel quite right until you've written it or said it out loud enough and it just clicks.

I really like Clark. Nameberry has a cute write-up for it:

CLARK

Gender: M
Origin: English
Meaning: "clerk"

Popularity in 2007: #628

Clark seemed to have been 'Gone with the Wind', but parents are now beginning to appreciate its cool combination of Gable charm with Superman power.

First of all...

Congratulations Courtney!

Now, I used to post a while ago on the TTC thread, but as things took much longer than I had expected they would I decided I needed to take a break from PS for a bit. BUT... I''m back! I couldn''t stay away, I have gained so much thus far from all of you, and I know there will be lots to share from here forward! I have a new screen name since I know a few others that used to lurk on this site IRL and don''t want them to find out quite yet, so I thought I''d play it safe :)

so here is my story:
I thought we were out this month because we missed our fertile window. But then, breasts were totally sore, I fell asleep on the couch 2 nights in a row at like 8pm (I usually can make it til at least 9:30, lol) and I could barely eat my dinner Friday night, which again is totally unlike me! I thought I was crazy but made DH stop by Target for some tests just to put the idea out of my mind. He went out that night and I stayed in because I was just WAY too tired to join him.
While he was gone I took a test, it was still 4 days before AF was due and like I said I was only testing to prove that I wasn''t preggo. WELL..... there were 2 lines!
After alllll those months of agonizing over timing, and frequency and it happened the one month I was convinced it wasn''t possible!
We are due 1/5/10, I am 4wks 2days today and my first Dr. appointment is May 18. Can''t wait!

Thanks for reading my kinda long (re)intro story!

Amber- just a shout out late to the game to say congrats! I remember going through the stresses of TTC with you and am so happy to see you on the preggo thread!

court- i cant take my eyes off her! happy bday Alila! u look amazing..cant wait to hear story and see more pics...enjoy!

Aw Courtney, she''s just gorgeous - and you look great too mama!
1.gif
Looking forward to more pics and hearing the birth story!

Amber - that is just unbelievable and so totally pathetic - frankly you don''t need a ''friend'' like that. Some people...

Cdt - So sorry to hear about the pain. I totally understand the ''get this pregnancy over NOW'' feeling. I hope that they are giving you something decent for the pain. It''s very depressing when the specialists just tell you to keep going - THEY don''t have to live with it 24/7!
38.gif

Ebree - commiserations to you as well on the ribs!
14.gif

Sweetpea - Congrats and welcome to the PG board!

November - Best wishes for the NT scan on Tuesday! Can''t help on the mat. clothes - I had the opposite problem of finding clothes that work when you''re 5ft 10"! Even worse the bump has grown out of most of them now!!!

Sabine - LOL at your ''lovely'' story! I just can''t wait till Daisy hits 15
20.gif
...

Thank you all for the thoughts and comments re DH''s grandmother.

Pandora Yippee for lots of BH! That means you are getting closer!
The BH seem to be hotting up today - at the moment I''m getting them for about 20 seconds at a time every 10 minutes or so and this has been about 2 hours. This morning it was about 10 seconds each every 15 - 20 minutes and then they went away for a few hours.

I take it that you DEFINITELY know when it''s the real thing?
23.gif

These seem to be an all-over tightening and hardening that is fairly central and then relaxes away. When it''s at it''s strongest you can really see the shape of the baby''s bottom, knees and feet. They''re uncomfortable but not painful - take your breath away a bit if you are standing up when they come on.

No sign of anything else though...

Thanks for the welcome SweetPea! I''m wondering who you are.... hmmmm.

Congratulations Courtney!!! Alila is just gorgeous!
30.gif

Amber - Sorry for the friends drama. It''s never easy to lose friends, and I''m sorry you lost her over something so petty (not that your pregnancy is petty, but her thinking you''re pregnant to spite her is).

It''s really fascinating to read about everyone''s progress. I can''t stop reading!
34.gif

November- Good luck at the NT scan on Tuesday!

sweet pea- Welcome and congratulations! Any way to give us a hint (or two) as to who you are?
31.gif

Congratulations sweetpea!
36.gif

Sabine...that story...omg
6.gif

CDT-We don''t have a name either. We love Sophia but something is holding me back from saying that is definitely the name. Sorry about the pain.

Pandora-I don''t think I said this before but sorry about DH''s grandmother
7.gif

I went shopping during lunch
31.gif
. I need to pack tonight for my trip to Vegas. Luckily I have to wear my company''s shirts so not much to pack. I also need to pack for FI. If I don''t set up a bag for him he''ll forget socks and underwear
20.gif
.

Courtney - congrats!! Alila''s adorable. And you look too good for just have given birth.

Sweet Pea - congrats to you as well!

Pandora - I''m so sorry about your husband''s grandmother. As for contractions, you definitely know when it''s the real thing (and I did have some painful BH). If you''re thinking "Hmm, is this the real thing?" that basically means that it isn''t.
2.gif
I think it''s pretty common for BH to get more frequent and stronger when you''re term or almost there. It''s great because your body''s getting ready for the big event, but also frustrating because I don''t think it means much for when baby will arrive. But that''s true for pretty much everything in the final weeks, right?

Amber - that''s just unbelievable.

Mia - I think that the eye goop is standard procedure for all babies. It''s to prevent STDs (and perhaps other bacteria, but chlamydia and gonorrhea are the main targets) from getting in their eyes and making them blind, but from what I understand they tend to do it regardless of how the baby came out because of the possibility that vaginal exams, ruptured bag of waters, etc, spread the bacteria to the baby. Some states also mandate that they offer eye drops, vit K, hep B vaccine to all newborns.

congrats Courtney
