ha ha Mara is my nickname...given to myself in college after tiring of the endless bad pickup lines from guys on my real name.

TG you''ll just have to buy me dinner to find out the middle.
9.gif
i like spanish tapas.
31.gif
OK, fair enough. I can buy tapas in exchange for blackmail material....

Does your real first name have a ''g'' in it?
You guys are cracking me up about bad names! I think I married so young to get rid of my maiden name which rhymes with a common four letter word.

TGal, I love the name Amelia Renee! It is beautiful!
Yeah, I wonder how many of us actually think our parents did OK with our names?

And Mara...no need to confirm or deny what I asked. I found out I wasn''t crazy and I do know your first name...which I still think is very pretty btw.
2.gif

TG - how about Amelia Inday or Indaya (Independence Day with or without an a on the end)?

Divergirl - I can hardly believe your pregnancy is almost over....wow, it just seems like yesterday I was so happy to read that you were pregnant again.

Just checking it--i can never seem to keep up with this thread

Tacori--glad u had a cry, a chat, and are now feeling better--works for me too!

Tgal--the name posts made me chuckle--so much thought into names, explaining origin, finding significance etc. I personally like the sound of Amelia Renee a bit more, but Indie is pretty cool and makes for a good story (if you are willing to share it
2.gif
. I think my baby was conceived in Rome a couple days after my wedding--anyone out there have any cool middle name ideas for me--for fun or otherwise
3.gif

Diver: good luck with everything!!!!!! Getting so much closer!

Lili--in terms of your eariler exercise question. I work out 5 or 6 days a week (pump classes, spinning, step classes and joggin) and have not modified my intensity or frequency at all--i have however been exercising like this since i was a competitive ski racer back in highschool so it''s not something i am adopting now that i am pregnant and i know my body super well. One would think all this exercise would keep weight gain low, but no, i somehow developed much thicker thighs, butt and hips in the past 12 weeks--i am accepting it now, it''s just bizzare to see my changing physique in the mirror at the gym and others are noticing as well--i am glad i get the spread the good news now that the 12 week mark has passed! Yippee

Hi everyone.
It''s been really crazy on this end.
I was just popping in to see how things were going for everyone.
Diver.. woohoo! i''m excited for you :)

Update on my end:
i miscarried on Monday.
I knew I should have waited until after the 3rd month.
I was just so excited I wanted to share it with someone, beside DH

Well, Tacori, if you''ll kindly take me off the list; I''ve lost my little bean.
(thats what DH was calling it)

I have to hang up my BM ideas for a couple of months

Doctors order.
But I''ll check back often to see how everyones doing.

So sorry to hear your news MommaBear.

okay so as someone who has a weird first name, a weird middle name and a weird original last name, don''t saddle ttot with any weird ''so cool to parents but sucks for kids'' kind of names.i can''t tell you how many jokes i got about both my first name and middle name. i don''t know WHAT my mom was thinking other than it sounded cute. so, ixnay on the amelia indie thing IMO.

do i have other ideas? no i''m not that helpful.
5.gif
just had to pop in and say nooooo to the AI thing. hehee. (it also makes me think of artificial insemination).
Hey, I like your first name (I believe I know the full name), and you are just SO going to have to email me your middle.
9.gif
I LOVE Mara''s full first name......but it''s easy to love it when I wasn''t the one being teased over it, I guess. LOL

My first name couldn''t be ''altered'' to make it tease-worthy, thank god......but my maiden last name? UGH.
2.gif

Thanks Jas! I feel better now. When is your EDD by the way?

MommaBear,

I''m so sorry. Tons of e-hugs are being sent your way.

So, so sorry to hear that, MB. Sending you thoughts and prayers for strength during this disappointing time.

We get to meet Delaney sooner than we thought.

Thanks Jas. I wished I''d taken better care of myself when we were trying years ago. I was just too darn lazy. DH kept trying to get me to go to the gym with him after we got married. Too bad my stubbornness wore him out :) Now I''m just concern that I may not have the muscle tones to carry the extra weight I''ll be gaining if I don''t try to get some exercise in. Don''t worry ladies, I''ll take it easy with exercise.

Momma: So sorry. I can't imagine what you must be feeling... sending lots of warm thoughts and my grandmother's constant reminder of "one day at a time".
40.gif

TG: LOVE Amelia... and love the idea of making the middle name significant somehow (but without being too weird... I'm with Mara on that). For what it's worth: my middle name is Joy and I always loved it... especially when I went through those deep, dark, decidedly non-joyous phases in my life and rather enjoyed the irony... and appreciated the hope. My mom and cousin have Joy for MNs too... as will my not-yet-existent but oft-dreamed-about future daughter.
2.gif

Amelia July is beautiful... unusual but not too crazy. If we have a second daughter we'll probably use "May" for a MN... our wedding month. Not a huge fan of Liberty because my mind jumps to fanatical pro-war America-as-superpower sentiments... I know that's completely illogical, just where my mind goes. Amelia Peace? Eh... a little weird. I like Deco's Amelia True. Somebody else said Amelia Indigo and I love how that flows... especially if it worked with the last name.

Any significant relatives you could borrow a name from? My maiden name will be our son's MN... which I like because it lets my fam be a part of the name, even though they won't share a last name. This is fun... I like the "name TG's unborn child" game!!

Momma Bear, I am so so sorry. Big hug.

So I know you all are waiting eagerly for DH''s 5 name list as am I....haha.....so far he says he likes Nadia (which I do think is pretty but will sound strange with our irish/scottish last name) and Tessa. Thoughts??? I have less time that Tgal! I need help!
9.gif

Tacori,
I love Tessa, that''s a lovely name.

I love Tessa.

Momma Bear, I am so sorry to hear that. A great big hug out to you.

Tacori, I love Tessa.

Oh Ellen, if you mean don''t do something permanent in case something happens to one of my children...well....that''s such a somber thought, but I don''t think I could go through getting pregnant, staying pregnant, and all this again just to replace someone. I''m not built like that, and for me I''m just getting too damn old. I''ll just take my chances....I can''t live worrying about the worst case, that kind of thinking weighs me down too heavy.
This is actually what I was alluding to. I just know things can happen, and once something permanent is done, well, it''s permanent. I didn''t mean to imply you should sit and wait for something dreadful to happen, I wouldn''t want anyone to do that. I was just thinking you might want to wait a few months. And no, I know full well another child can never replace a lost child.

However, I could have easily meant what you and mrss thought initially, but after reading your post, it sounds like you are at peace. Nuff said.

MB,
I am very sorry.

I too lost a little bean at 11 weeks, just last year. Rest up and take a mental break.

Tacori,
Tessa is an absolutely sweet name. Love it.

Mommabear: Ohmygosh honey...I am sooo sorry for your loss. If you ever need to talk/vent/whatever--just post a thread to me & I''m here for you. I''ve lost 2 pregnancies to miscarriage & (last one in Oct.) and I know the pain very well. Don''t feel like you should have waited until the 3rd month to share your news. There is no "jinxing" a pregnancy with talking about it etc., you didn''t do anything to cause it, you can''t do anything to prevent it, this crud just happens. Fair? No, but definitely cut yourself some slack. There is no way I could last longer than 5 minutes past a positive pregnancy test before sharing it with my friends & family. Besides, the way I see it, if something does go wrong, your "people" know what''s going on and can be loving support for you.

Everyone handles miscarriage differently, as we are all unique, but its not uncommon to be ok with it one moment, saddened the next, infuriated another, and feeling out of control another...it can be a bit of a roller coaster. I might be a little MIA the next week or two, but seriously...if you need anything...post!!!! Also, BabyCenter has a grief & loss board for mom''s who''ve had a miscarriage...let me find a link for you, it helped me IMMENSELY. Here are all the threads from the m/c board...there are many to choose from.

Oh MommaBear, I''m so sorry to hear your news. Big hugs to you and your family!

Tacori, my friend''s niece''s name is Tess, and I ADORE it! I love that it''s so simple and clean sounding, yet still kind of funky and different. Tessa is pretty too! I prefer Natalie over Nadia.

Diver, WHOO HOOO on Delaney''s birth day being tomorrow! Happy BIRTH DAY to Delaney ... Happy BIRTH Day to Delaney ...
36.gif

Well, now I''m just so curious to know what Mara''s real name is!!

TGal, love the name Amelia! I''d have considered it for our little girl except it''s one of our good friend''s names. Very pretty and romantic-sounding, and of course the meaning behind it for you guys is pretty cool! Actually, come to think of it, her middle name is Renee too! Funny. Personally, between Indie and Renee, I prefer Indie for a middle name. Or maybe to go with the J name (since you said you like that) AND have it be meaningful, you could use Juliet as a bastardized version of Juillet (French for July)? Too big a stretch there?

I am having a day and it''s only 9:15 am. OY. How many more hours till I can go home and nap?!

((((((MommaBear)))))) I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I agree that you should take a mental break and focus on taking care of yourself right now. Don''t feel guilty for sharing your news before week 12 - I know I wouldn''t be able to wait that long. Sometimes bad things happen, even to good people like yourself. I will keep you in my prayers.

I also like the name Tessa. I like how it''s unusual but not in a bad way!

If I''m not around tomorrow - HAPPY BIRTH DAY DELANEY!! CONGRATULATIONS Diver!! Please post some yummy newborn pics for us if you get the chance to share her with all of us!
12.gif

I can test in the middle of next week. A coworker thinks I''ll crack and use a early test this weekend but I promised myself that I wouldn''t. I''m not really having any symptoms of anything - Aunt Flow or pregnancy. I''ve been exhausted lately but that''s sort of normal for me. I nearly threw up yesterday after lunch - but I think that had more to do with the (literally) stinky client that came in. I''m not going to get my hopes up but there''s always that chance
5.gif

Did anybody not feel pregnant when they first found out? My mom told me that she just knew without even taking a test or going to the doctor. Maybe I''m not that in tune with my body?

Jess

So for everyone who liked Tessa....a few things. What would be a good middle name? Do you like it better than Natalie? Why do I have a feeling we will be reading the name book IN L&D?!?

Diva, if you test too early you could get a false negative. Happened to me several times. Good luck this weekend.

Diver, good luck with Delaney! Give her a HUGE kiss from all her PS friends!!!

MommaBear, so sorry to hear your news! I hope you have some time to take care of yourself.

Tacori, I like Tessa too. Very pretty!
