Sunkist- I had horrible pubic pain start right about that time. Everyone IRL kept saying ''oh, the pressure'' and it drove me crazy because it was NOT pressure, more like the bones splitting apart right where they meet in the center. Turns out that''s exactly what it is! My doc said all women''s ligaments loosen and allow the pelvis to spread, but for some it happens more quickly and results in lots of pain. She also said there''s not much to do for it but Motrin after the baby is born. She did show me a ''vulvar support garment'' online, but I did not order it. A lot of nights I came home from work and laid on the couch spread-eagled with an ice pack right in my crotch- lovely visual, huh? The pain has gotten better lately (35 weeks now) but was really excrutiating for a while. Especially when moving legs independently (in/out of car, rolling over in bed, putting on pants, etc). I hope it eases up for you soon!
Big ditto. I wrote a lot about it when I was about 36 weeks and on... I called it evil crotch pain. I described it as someone hitting me in the pubic bone with a hammer! Not pressure. It eased whe nHunter finally descended further into the birth canal, the pain is largely due to the babies position, so Natalina I think your baby could have dropped!

I hope you don''t get it like I had it right up until 3 days before Hunter was born

I actually still have issues with my pelvis, but it could be because of the injury to my tail bone not the pelvic pain.

Ah the joys of pregnancy.

Congrats Lysser he is gorgeous!

Lysser he is precious. I adore the name Calvin.

Congrats, LL...Calvin is so beautiful!

Wow, thanks Natalina and DD. So THIS is the fabled "Evil Crotch Pain"!!! I remember you talking about that. I wondered if doing those arching your back exercises on all fours would help position the baby better and make the pain go away. I don't think it did anything though!

Natalina your doc's description of the bone breaking apart sounds horrible and you have me cracking up over the "vulvar support garment"
3.gif
hahaha! that sounds so funny! Anyways, I hope it doesn't keep getting worse.

Lysser, Calvin is a doll. Congrats again!

Congrats LL! He''s a doll!

LL-he''s absolutely beautiful. Congrats again!!!!

Tao-all you really need to know IMO is where the entrance is, exit, and where to register. It''s nice to see the rooms ahead of time but not entirely necessary. It''s not like you can really request anything else.

awww, Calvin is such a cutie!!!!!!

Congrats again LL! I am so happy you had an easy labor!!!

Tao, I don''t think the tour is really necessary, but it is nice to see the rooms before. More like a nice to have than a "must".

Sunkist, so sorry to hear you''re in pain!!!! I''m in pain too...but it''s my back....I''ve been icing it, which I think helps a bit...but not much

***

I''m so happy tomorrow is only Sunday! I took Friday off so it seems like I''m having an extra extended Holiday weekend
9.gif
. I needed it though...I''ve been just so tired!. Today I got a pedi and then took a nap...ahhh, life is good
1.gif

The boys are constantly on the move now...I wonder if they are trying to turn?. Sometimes when they both start moving at the same time it does hurt quite a bit though...specially when baby B moves way up in my ribs!.

I''m getting so antsy!!! I''m really trying to not think too much because it''s making time go by slowly...just like it did in the first trimester!. keep wondering if they''ll be early, if I''ll end up with a c-section, if they will be able to come home from the hospital with me, if I have everything ready.....etc, etc, etc. My head just spins with random thoughts all day long. I just want this month to pass quickly by so I''m on the "safe zone" (past 35 weeks).

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday night :)

LL--
Awww....Calvin is adorable!
Glad to hear that you had an easy labor.
Can''t wait to hear all about it.

Sapphire--
Good luck to you.
And I have to say that you''ve got a tiny belly for 39+wks.

Sending best wishes to Sapphire. Good luck!!!

Welcome baby Calvin! He is adorable, LL! Love his name

Congrats LL and welcome baby Calvin...he is such a precious little guy!!!

Good luck to Sapphire. i hope you have a fairly smooth L&D!!

Thanks for the tour advice. We booked for the 11/4 date and figure if we make it, we make it. If we don''t well so what.

I''ve been sleeping so much better lately! I finally found a way that works for me. I have a cuddly boppy pillow--normally I wrap it between my knees and sleep that way. But that way stopped working about a week or so ago--so I''ve just been miserable. Well two nights ago, I brought the larger part of the pillow up to my head and rest my head on it (Laying on my side) and the smaller end wraps around my belly. For some reason this way just works for me! So excited!

I think next friday I''m going to post a picture of my belly. I don''t think I''ve done that here yet. I had a picture from 27 weeks but for some reason I could post it on every other board I''m a member of but not this one. I keep getting comments that I don''t look like I''m as far along as I say I am....don''t know if they are just being nice but it''s still nice to hear sometimes--especially when I''m feeling especially huge.

Lysser: he''s gorgeous! Great name too!!

I feel so bad for my cats. Being pregnant, I''m not allowed to clean their litter. But seriously, I''m about to. It''s disgusting. I have two other people living with me, My husband and my sister. I don''t understand why they can''t clean it. The litter is in the laundry room---I heard them both this morning in the laundry room--so they had to have seen how dirty it was! They can''t even walk in it. I know the cats will have to use the bathroom at some point today---I''m about to go buy some gloves and a mask and just start cleaning it out myself....

Sunkist - google ''pubic symphysis disfunction'' as this is what causes that pain.

Here people with that are sent to the physiotherapists for treatment as there is a lot that can be done for many people.

Tao - the hospital tour was the only bit of my antenatal class that was actually worth going to!

LL - Aww, what a cutie, he''s adorable!

Tao, don''t do it. my brother had toxoplasmosis, probably contracted neonatally b/c my mother still cleaned the cat litter while pregnant as none of us non-pregnant lazya$$s would do it, its not worth it. Even though in his case it didn''t kill him or disable him, he has compromised vision, is at risk of blindness for life, he was on steroids for years as a kid (with serious side effects), he''s 20+ yrs old and still dealing with it. Goggle toxoplasmosis, print out horror stories, and try to shame whomever you''re living with into doing it.

Yay for Calvin!

And Mandarine, you are getting close! no wonder your mind is restless, and the little boys are twisting and getting ready... good luck! (do you have an end date for the boys or will the doc let you go past your regular due date?)

We recently got a cat on the condition that my husband would NEVER have to feed it or change the litter (she is elderly and we took her from a relative who couldn''t care for her anymore). DH is allergic, and not a cat person.

When I asked him if he could change the cat box because of the toxoplasmosis risk, he really didn''t want to (but he would have done it if he had to). Instead, he offered to pay to have the cat tested - that way, if she was negative, I could change the litter without risking contracting it (she''s an indoor cat so she can''t catch it at this point in her life).

She tested negative, which gave us real peace of mind for this pregnancy. Not sure if that is an option for you guys, but we liked knowing that our cat wasn''t putting our baby at risk, and I am more at ease playing with her now knowing that there''s no way the baby could be hurt.

The test cost $200, but it was worth it to us to have the peace of mind that there was no toxoplasmosis in the house.

YOU can also be tested.

If you have grown up with cats - especially indoor/outdoor cats then it is highly unlikely that you haven''t already had it.

Congrats littlelysser!
36.gif
He''s beautiful.

Tavo: how about insisting that your husband/sister clean the litterbox?
4.gif
Doesn''t seem like something you should have to do, since they''re other people in the house -and especially knowing the risks.

Lysser - Calvin is so beautiful... Congrats again!

23w5d for me... I''ve been lurking lately, but I wanted to share a milestone: I haven''t thrown up in 3 weeks!
36.gif
I came close yesterday, but I didn''t. I''m glad this part of the unpleasantness is getting better... I''m also looking to hire a doula, I''ll let you know how that goes.

I would seriously insist my husband changed the litter box. I mean, it is a small sacrifice to do that for a few months to insure your baby is healthy. There is no question about it, my husband would want to do it for peace of mind.

I wound up having to change it.....everyone was at work until late that day. The cats (We have two of them) were sitting at the litter box meowing their heads off. We have an apartment--so I can't risk them going around and peeing around the apartment.

I looked up online a way to do it just this one time. They said to wear rubber gloves and to wear a mask and then to immediately wash hands. I did all of that, and took a shower.

I then had a serious talking to with my husband and sister when they got home.

I refuse to do it again during this pregnancy, obviously and told them the exact same thing.

eta: Normally my sister and DH do change the litter box. I haven't had to change it once since getting pregnant....but apparently they were both too lazy to take care of it these past two days (seriously, there was enough in there to have been 2-3 days).

Hey, girls. Hope everyone is having a great day. Whew, I am taking a break from organizing/moving rooms. Our office is being converted to an office/playroom, the playroom is being converted to the new baby''s room, and Andrew''s room is being updated to a sports themed room so he won''t feel left out. So as of right now, my house is a wreck moving stuff back and forth! Anyway, I know it will all be worth it when everything is moved and in it''s place. Who knew it would be such hard work to add another baby into the mix!

LL - congrats! Calvin is beautiful!

Sapphire - waiting on pins and needles for the big news!

sunkist - evil crotch pain?! yet another thing i wasn't told about pre-pregnancy! funny isn't it, how this is the THE most feminine thing your body does -- carrying a life -- yet it's filled with things like nausea, vomiting, constipation, gas and EVIL CROTCH PAIN
20.gif

So i've been a little bummed because my OB doesn't do very many ultrasounds if the pregnancy seems to be rolling along smoothly. which i'm happy it is, but i still want to see my baby. espcially since i can't feel the baby yet, i just want the visual assurance that everything is a-ok...y'know? dopplers of the heartsounds are great and all, but it's just not the same.
15.gif

BUUUUT, i went to visit one of my friends up in dallas over the weekend and she has friends in the ultrasound dept
36.gif
we got to see our little one!
36.gif

36.gif
the tech couldn't stay for long because she had other patients, but she set the machine up and stayed long enough to help us try to get a sneak answer to the boy vs girl question. we're not 100% sure because it wasn't one of the super fancy machines and there is no official radiology read and GingerBaby was being a lady/gentleman and wouldn't spread 'em
3.gif
so i know what you guys are all waiting for, and i'm excited so i had to share some of the news, but i kinda want to wait until the official 20 week exam with the radiologist read before we announce it. >
12.gif

Steph, we''re going to be going through the same thing next weekend. Our office is really big (it''s supposed to be a bedroom) so we''re converting that into a "big boy bedroom" for our son who is almost 3. He''s still sleeping in the smaller nursery bedroom with the crib, so we are hoping to keep the nursery intact for when the baby arrives in April. We ordered DS all of his big boy furniture and we have months to slowly transition him over (he''ll also be leaving the crib for the first time) so we want to have PLENTY of time to get him comfortable with his new room before the baby comes.

We''re probably going to move most of our office stuff to our den & guest bedroom, which is two floors below where our office is now, so I''m dreading "moving" day. I''m glad that I''m pregnant, and can leave the heavy lifting to my husband
emwink.gif

Steph and Vesper, I can see why people just move when they''re expecting a baby so they don''t have to do the "slash" route . . . office/guest room or guest room/den or whatever. We recently made our guest room into the guest room/office. With baby #2, we''ll have to make a basement/guest room/office, and our basement isn''t technically finished, so we''ll have to see if that''s plausible. That''s still 2+ years away (let''s hope!) so we have time to figure it out.

We''ve also been weatherizing our house with baby as motivation. The previous owner replaced some of the single pane windows on our 90+ year old house, but not the ones on the front (trying to preserve architectural integrity). We''ve got a few other places that need new windows too. We just insulated our attic (I would have never known it wasn''t or was supposed to be . . . that''s what husbands are for) and we''re also replacing the downstairs window unit with a Mr. Slim (the window unit is built into the window hole and can''t be removed for the winter, plus we smell our neighbors'' cigarette smoke through it when it''s blowing
38.gif
), so the Mr. Slim will solve all of these problems. We hope it''s warm for you this winter, baby girl!

I''m wondering if Sapphire had Logan? Anyone hear from her?

Had a Dr''s appointment today. I technically passed my glucola test. He said that one of the blood draws was slightly elevated (The first one, just like the 1 hour test) so they want me to talk to a nutritionist but he said it was nothing to worry about.

Got information on a pediatrician and about pre-registering at the hospital.

Also, I will be getting the flu shot at my next visit.

LL-Congratulations! Calvin is very handsome!

Well, this weekend went really well. My parents were very surprised (to be expected), but they are definitely excited!!

Now for the EVEN BETTER NEWS!!!

I have been calling my siblings to let them know... and found out that my sister is PREGNANT as well, and due a week and a half before us!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if I have talked much or any about her here. She is 38. Her first marriage ended because she couldn't convceive. Years of trying, lots of shots, multiple rounds of IVF, and thousands and thousands later, ending in divorce in 2000. She has always said it "didn't" happen for a reason, and she wasn't meant to have a family with him anyway.
She got remarried in June of 2008 to a great guy. Then in February of this year, she found out that she was pregnant, not only the first BFP she had ever had, but it was all natural. We all cried and were so excited. At the time she was only 4 weeks, and she ended up loosing the baby by week 8. So dissapointing for her, but she was so happy to know that she could actually do it all herself!
So... fast forward to today, and since the doctors are measuring time by the size of the fetus, she is about 8.5 weeks!!!!!! Since she is older and has had problems before, she is going in weekly for check-ups. Our family wants this so bad for her, and I guess I'm asking for lots of sticky and healthy dust to her and the lil' one!!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day here in the states. It was a much needed 3 day weekend for us!
