Awww...Calvin is just dreamy.
Great birth story. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Sapphire - noticed you are online, how are things going hun?
Pandora: Hey...Im doin ok...sorry Ive actually been logged on all day and just been on and off. Still getting a lot of contractions, but not painful, just uncomfortable. I slept fairly good last night. Had some more pink discharge...just waiting for things to get to a point where i FEEL like I NEED to go in, in order to do so lol. I just am anxious to meet my lil guy already...thats all...

Lysser - Thank you for sharing your story... Again, Calvin is so beautiful.

Sapphire - Still sending you labour vibes!

LL: he is sooooo adorable..so peaceful

Sapphire: cant wait to seeeeee ! good luck!

Sapphire: Good luck! I hope you''re laboring right now!

Question for Mommies or other 3rd tri''ers (holy crap, I''m in 3rd tri???): did any of you get your nausea back? This is the third morning I''ve been nauseous upon waking for the first few hours of the day. Food doesn''t really help, either. It goes away by lunch, but before then I''m miserable. It''s not like morning sickness where I threw up, but it''s bad enough to make me gag. It''s really gross. I had my appointment last week and all tests were good so just wondering if it''s something I should worry about? I can still function, there is just a lot of blaah feelings going on.

Darnit, I replied and it got eaten. Argh!

Lysser, congrats! He is so beautiful. :-)

Good luck Sapphire!

ll, thanks for sharing your birth story. I am jealous of your easy labor. C is so cute!

Sapphire, sounds like you''re in early labor. I''d wait until your contractions are stronger, closer together, and more regular. 5-1-1. Contractions are less than 5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, and have followed that pattern for at least an hour. Sending lots of labor dust your way!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! We are all very excited! My mom sounds like maybe she feels a little overwhemed by it all, but she has been in a weird mood since this weekend. So who knows.

Lysser- Lovely birthing story... except for all that water of course! That must have been a bit surprising! Calvin is the cutest!

Sapphire- Good luck with everything!! Sounds like it should be pretty soon!!

Mandarine- You look incredible!!

Mara- Welcome back! Spain is my favorite country so far!

As far as me, we hit 7 weeks yesterday, and everything is going well. I commute to work every morning from our suburb to downtown. I take a commuter bus, and yesterday I had my first morning sickness scare.
39.gif
I thouhgt I was going to lose it right there in the midst of about 30 other passengers. Worst feeling ever! I made it tookand was fine the rest of the day, but I was so nervous that it would happen again this morning. It didn''t and I am thrilled! I have a feeling it might be hitting me soon though, so I''ll start carrying saltines with me everywhere. One of my friends also told me about this stuff at Whole Foods that is a Ginger Root drink, and she said it worked really well, so I''ll try that if it becomes necessary.
Yesterday was also the first dy didn''t "feel" bloated. I actualy felt skinny again... unfortunately that ended, and I''m back to feelinga full tummy again.
Maybe it''s just me, but being someone that would like to know everything possible, the first tri is killing me! I want to get to our 10 week appt an find out if everything is going ok, an just beat our 12 weeks already. For some reason, my mind is convinced that 12 weeks is the end of our "scary" period.

mandarine-- oh yes, i''ve heard of the NST revealing contractions that the mom can''t feel--i guess just BH? Is that why they are doing one for you, just to be alerted to possible early labor? I don''t know much about twins so i am curious. I too would like to be pregnant with my sister one day. It would be exciting, but not sure if it''ll happen. Right now i am just working on my married friends to start TTC at the same time, so we can all hang out during mat leave
31.gif

mara--sounds like you had a very busy trip. i too had mad itchy boobs during my pregnancy. Oddly enough, they were so bad one night i was in tears. It felt like i had a severe case of poison ivy on my nipples and almost went to the ER. I was too stubborn to take anything so i suffered thru it and it was gone the next day, but i continued to have itching for months. Very odd, and a little embarassing to scratch right?!!
14.gif

Sapphire--hoping it''s the real deal for you! Best of luck, you''ll be holding that little guy in your arms soon!!

lysser, awww he is adorable, he looks sooo peaceful. i hope that my labor is 12 pushes too. hehehee. doubt i will be so lucky tho.

jas...yes it is kind of funny trying to get a boob itch in a meeting or whatever. when i am home i just itch them constantly..and they get extremely hot too. last nite it was my legs that were itching, like i had bites on them or something. today it's normal. i am going to ask the dr about it tomorrow just to make sure it's nothing out of the ordinary...i was reading about some weird skin things that can happen during pregnancy. i also have crazy itchy SCALP which is so bizarre. i read online that some gals get it, but my dr said she had never heard of it. its worse when my hair is freshly washed.

amber...i have read that nausea can come back in 3rd tri and one of my coworkers said that happened to her. whenever stuff like that happens (or any of this itchiness or whatever) i know it's hormones so i tend to think, well at least my body is still producing them, on the plus side i guess.

did anyone else not really get the 2nd tri energy burst? i have been going to sleep at 9pm every night since we returned a week ago. and i sleep til 7am. in the mornings i feel great, but by 2pm at work i am just dragging, and by 5pm i am like a zombie literally. it makes it hard to function in evenings, and i have already bailed out on a few events with friends that i feel horrible about. i am wondering why i feel sooo listless.

drive by post here, but YES! YES! YES! about once a week i get the ''holy crap i''m going to be sick'' feeling - just this morning i thought my ms was back. it''s so sad. it usually coincides with not eating a good dinner the night before, or not having any protein in the morning. stinks!

ll - calvin is precious!!! congrats!!!

hello everyone! will post more tomorrow when i have a second!

Lysser--your sweet Calvin is just gorgeous!!!!! He looks perfect.
I too loved pushing. It was a huge, huge relief and i don''t remember feeling any pain at that point (despite some tearing). So great that your birth was a good experience.

Mara--i felt better during the second tri--but never did get the energy boost (that i remember). I think i was tired all the way through and took naps after work each day. Oh, napping, that sounds niiiiiiiccce....

LL
Congratulations. Calvin is so precious.
What a great birth story. I thought my L&D was easy too, probably b/c I had epidural.
Glad breastfeeding is going well.

Mandarine
yeah don''t worry about your weight gain. You are doing great for twins. You look fabulous, all belly.

Tao
Glad you had a talk with DH and sis about the litter box.
Yay for passing the glucose test. Hope your appointment with the nutritionist is helpful.

Anchor
Glad you are feeling better and not throwing up anymore.

Steph
Good luck with reorganizing and decorating the rooms. I am jealous b/c baby #2 won''t has his/her own room. We are letting SIL crash in the room until she gets back on her feet, which will be a few years at least since she went back to school.

I still get sick if I didn''t eat much the night before or didn''t eat in the morning. I''m 31 weeks today!

Meresal
Congrats to your sister. Sending lots of sticky dusts her way.

Sapphire
Good luck. My dr told me the 5/1/1 rule too, but my contractions were never consistently 5/1/1. My childbirth class instructor said to wait until you can''t walk and talk during the contractions. That''s what I did. It was easier than me trying to time the contractions.

Amber
Yay for passing the glucose test.
Sorry about the back pain.
You got a big baby in there. LOL.

Phoenix
I''ve been wearing my black Mary Jane crocs everyday. No one knows that they are crocs. They are great since I do a lot of field work.

Vesper
Glad your new dr is great.

Mara
Your trip sounds awesome.
I am still very tired in 2nd tri. No burst of energy whatsoever. Still can fall asleep whenever. Boo.

DH and I were in a fender bender couple days ago. My neck, shoulder and back are so sore. We are going to the chiropractor tonight. Hope it''ll help.
I am 20 weeks today, so officially halfway. Yay! And my u/s is schedule for tomorrow, so we get TI see our LO again and find out the sex.

I think the ''feeling wonderful in the second trimester'' is another one of those myths - to go with the ''newborns sleep 20 hours a day'' and suggestions that babies ''sleep through the night'' - yeah right...

I agree Pandora: It''s one of those things where they are trying to give you a silver lining so that you can make it through the 1st trimester and the throwing up.....
3.gif

But I did get a burst of energy in the 2nd tri last pregnancy and M did sleep 20 hours as a newborn. LOL.
Seriously though this pregnancy is tougher for me. Maybe just b/c I have a toddler to chase after.

It''s funny, I was just saying to DH that I got no stinkin'' energy burst in my second tri. I was JUST as exhausted, almost more, actually. I also had m/s the first few weeks of second tri, too, so there was definitely no magical day when everything just got rosy.
1.gif

qtie, I keep thinking about how hard all of this would be with a toddler! I wouldn''t have the option to just collapse on the couch and leave everything up to DH (well, maybe I would, but it would be more cruel!).

I''m back from my 34 week appointment. I''m having an U/S next visit because my uterus measurement didn''t change from the last two visits -- it was 33 cm. at 32 weeks and the same today. I''m not sure if I convinced the nurse practitioner to get me an U/S or if she convinced me . . . . I was just looking for reassurance, a reason not to worry that it hadn''t changed at all, and she was like, "Are you going to worry? Let''s just schedule an U/S," and I was like, "I don''t know . . . should I worry?" She did say not to worry, but then she said let''s just go ahead and schedule one when I asked if they would give me an U/S right away if things weren''t better next time or if I''d have to wait until another, later appointment at that point. I have been measuring 1 or 2 cm. ahead all along so the lack of change concerns me, but Baby Girl has her feet over to the side. I assume your uterus grows because the baby pushes it further and further up? So if she''s curled around to the side, could that be why? I don''t know. It could also be that the doctor didn''t measure quite right last time; she spends a lot less time with me than the NP. Argh. Don''t want a reason to worry!

Official weight gain is 39 pounds. I''ve started forgetting what I weighed the last time, which I guess is a good thing. The doctor''s office, unaware of the 7 pounds I gained prior to my first appointment at week 9, thinks it''s at 32. So now I just add 7 to whatever they tell me. So that''s two pounds in two weeks. I''ve heard "a pound a week" near the end so I''m happy with that.

Today some students told me my Crocs were ok because I''m pregnant and my feet hurt, and then one girl asked, "But, um, why do your feet hurt? I just don''t get it." So I told her how I''ve gained 1/3 of my old body weight, and if she gained 1/3 of what she weighs now, her feet would probably hurt too! And then there''s the swelling, although thankfully I don''t really seem to have any of that yet. Was that the right answer? Because you hear women who don''t gain that much complain of foot pain too . . . I''m assuming they''re all swollen women?

littlelysser, what a beautiful baby! He looks like a little model - beautiful profile!

2nd trim - I definitely felt better in the second tri. My morning sickness tapered down at around 14 weeks, and then stopped completely after 15 weeks. After that I felt a lot more like myself.

phoenix - my feet are swollen and have been hurting too - especially around the ankles. It might just be related to the swelling - not sure why that would make them hurt specifically, though.

haha awesome. well, i am really looking fwd to 3rd tri now! honestly as long as i am not nauseated, nothing seems AS BAD. even this crazy itchiness. don't quote me on that later.

and it just occurred to me this morning that i need to remove my toe rings ASAP...as in like tonite...because in the mornings my feet have been a bit swollen. they are already 'snug fit' and i never remove them, so i hope i can still get them off...yikes! who thinks of these things?

pg...i wouldn't worry too much if they scheduled you for US for your next appt. it doesn't sound like they are worried? but yeah that is an odd convo to have... can you request to see your dr when the np is there?

hi ladies!
super quick drive by..

<---32 weeks today!!!

Today we had our first NST (non-stress test) ....we start having those now twice a week until the boys arrive. Well, BOTH babies failed! The nurse freaked me out because she said that could signal a problem (which I knew) but then started talking about cord relapse (or something) and lack of oxygen and what not. Anyway, they asked me to stay hooked up to the machine until they could do an ultrasound. At the u/s everything looked fine, so that was a big relief!. The u/s tech told me to get used to the boys not passing because it''s quite normal.

I''m confused why they do the test then anyway...I would much rather have a quick 5 minute u/s than to be hooked up to a machine for 30 minutes (or even more).

Oh well, the boys are good so that''s what matters. We will be doing this every Monday and Thursday...I hope they get the hang of it and start passing so they don''t freak their mommy out

Today we had our second childbirth class, this was def better than the first one.

I''m exhausted so will be back tomorrow with a less selfish post!

M~

They did them with us too-at the end I was going every other day. Do you know WHY they didn''t pass? The NST tests give them different info than u/s (at least that is what my doc said) which is why they do them instead of ultrasounds. They always do them for twin pregnancies toward the end.

My boys did always pass...so if I were you I would NOT worry-but I would find out exactly why they aren''t passing and then read up on it.

Everything will be fine I''m sure. You are in good hands and 32 weeks is awesome! Keep baking girly!

MARA I had crazy itchiness when I was preggo. The only thing that helped me was Origins A Perfect World Body Cream. They said it helps with stretch marks too, and all thru my pregnancy I kept bragging no stretchmarks! well they showed up AFTER I had him! but the body cream did help a ton with the itchiness. Hope it helps you.

LL Congrats! He is adorable and I am jealous of your labor and delivery!
