Amber~Happy belated anniversary!

PrettyBlues~Congrats and welcome!

phoenix~Claire is beautiful!!

viz~Congrats! Charlie is adorable! I found BFing to be extremely difficult and painful at first. But, I went in and saw an excellent LC and things really improved. I highly recommend seeing a LC. Good luck and enjoy him!

I''m always amazed at how fast pregnancy flies by. Before I got pregnant it seems like everyone I knew that was pregnant was pregnant forever

Amber happy anniversary! annd I''m so sorry about the migrane

I hope it goes away soon. Does caffiene help you at all?

Cello I''m so sorry that this year has not gone as hoped. That really stinks. I hope the doc can help you and get you feeling better quickly.

Viz, I love that pic of your little boy!! He''s the cutest. I''m sending you all the BF dust that I had on reserve for me. You can borrow it cause obviously you need it more than I do right now
2.gif
GOOD LUCK mama! I can only imagine all the tears I''m going to be crying. I''ve been trying to warn my husband. I hope he''s prepared!

Yeah! Another halloween baby!

I agree, Breastfeeding has been the most difficult thing. I''m nearing the end of my rope. We are currently supplementing with formula because he lost a lb since birth. (he''s under 6lbs now!)

Okay, I''m off to resize some pictures of the nursery and my new love, Evan Alexander.

Re: childcare: With Tayva I really wanted her to either have a nanny or be in an in-home daycare from the time I went back to work at 8 weeks until around 18 months or so, when I wanted to enroll her in a daycare center for the social aspects, ect. I teach part-time so she's only in daycare 4-5 hours a day. Well, my plan went out the back window when our in-home daycare provider (whom we chose after visiting and interviewing probably 10+ child care providers) told us she was unexpectedly moving when T was 9 months old. She only gave me a week notice!! Luckily, I found out one of my volleyball player's moms ran a daycare center and she was able to do us a favor and "make" a spot for Tayva for at least a while so I could look for care. Well, I never looked for new care because I absolutely LOVE her center. We're very lucky in a lot of respects in that the ratio of childcare providers to children is 1:2 or 1:3 depending on the day (they have a lot of part-time and drop ins) and there are a lot of volunteer help and "extras" in the program due to it being in a church. Ironically we have since joined the church and T goes to the daycare part during church on Sundays as well. She absolutely LOVES it there. So, I guess what I'm saying is make sure you check out all of your options because you never know what you can find. Everyone has to go with the situation that is best for their family....but I would start looking now because you will see a lot of situations that you will just know aren't for you and your child and if you want to get into a great center waiting lists are sometimes up to a year!

Immediately after delivery.

What a cutie!

. Hang in there with the breastfeeding. I don''t want to sound cliche but it really does get easier (provided there are no medical issues that get in the way). See a LC and just keep going at it. GL!

And for the other first time mommies to be, I would highly recommend having the LC at your local hospital stop by your room immediately after you have LO (preferably for the first feed as sometimes the nurses/baby nurse don''t really know how to get them to latch properly) and then have their # on speed dial. I call my LC so much that she now recognizes my number and answers the phone saying "Hi Sophia''s mommy" lol

Awww What a sweetie!

Oh wow, 2 halloween babies.
And there were 3 BFPs over in the TTC thread that day too.

Viz--
Charlie is just adorable.
He does look very alert in that picture.
I second the others about going to a LC.
Also, you might want to have you hubby there w/ you so that he can learn what he can do to assist you (if it''s a latching issue for you).
Hope it works out soon for you.

Tao--
Wow, you labored a long time at home.
Glad to hear that you were able to get the birth you wanted.
BFing is hard. I was in tears myself the first 3 days because I could get DD to latch and my milk did not come in.
So I did supplemented the first few days, but she was EBF after my milk came in.
Can''t wait to see pictures of Evan.

man, pictures won''t post for me anymore....I''ll be back in a minute.

Tao he''s gorgeous and so alert!

Congrats tao and vizla, and any other new moms I missed!

Your babies are just beautiful!!

vizla, did you say that labour was easy??? I'm curious...how so? did you have an epidural or a natural birth?

I'm growing increasingly scared of labour/childbirth, esp. since I'll be going natural.

How are you other close-to-term ladies feeling?
Any of you doing the perineal massage to help with stretching? I just started that yesterday. I'm almost trying to read up as much as I can on birthing - it all seems so scary and overwhelming right now!

ETA: Love your nursery theme, tao! Great pics.

Changing table with fake banana tree behind it.

Our nursery theme is monkey/jungle

Okay, that''s all I have for right now....

Tao - baby and room both look super cute! Congrats again.

Amber - Just be darn sure that it is a migraine, and not a warning sign of preeclampsia. I think you had a doc appointment very recently - BP was fine, right? They''ll take neuro symtpoms like changes in vision and funkiness in the hands pretty seriously. L&D or your doctor should not fault you for wanting to get it checked out. Hope it IS just a migraine, and that it clears up soon.

Someone needs to tell my uterus to settle down - it''s been very irritable since all the poking and prodding this morning. Grr.

tao, what a little sweetheart! He''s gorgeous. And the nursery is adorable.

Sha, I am scared stiff of labor and delivery, probably because everyone has felt the need to share their horrific details with me, ack. I want to go natural, but I will have to see how I feel when it comes down to it.

The perineal massage is interesting to me - how much proof is there that it actually does anything?

cello, I remember you mentioning all of your fainting spells back when you first got pregnant. I can''t believe they haven''t found a single reason for them. Are you seeing a new doctor in CA?

YAY for charlie viz...!!! two halloween babies, wow!!! he is super cute. tao your little one is sooo cute too. love all the newborn pics. hope bf''ing becomes easier!

amber and sunkist you girls are next!! how exciting.

good to see you burk!!

amber... caffeine helped any mini migraine immensely for me. sorry it''s such a tough day.

Thanks DRK, on the heads up. I have an appointment tomorrow AM, and my last one had very low BP. I''m thinking it''s a migraine because these are all my textbook migraine symptoms: the blind spots (the foil thing) and my hands get affected as well. It''s gone now, aside from some residual pain when I sneeze. I''ll call my OB right now, though. Thank you!

Tao: what a cutie pie! Love the nursery!

Sha: I''m not really as afraid of labor/birth. I''m more afraid of not being ready with things at home (due to others- not me!). Also, we''re not doing the massage.

Amber sorry about your Migraine. Excedrine Migraine has helped my DD, she just had one the other day. But she''s not preggo, so best to ask your doc.

Mara, you should definitely go to Hawaii next May. Your Mom will take great care of your LO. It''s good to get away, and you have such history there, your wedding you can celebrate your 6th anniversary. Sounds like a no brainer to me. Getting away just the two of you, so important. We did it a few times, and was lucky to have an Aunt who I could really trust to look after DD. But once DS came, it'' was a lot harder to leave them.

So do that trip. Your DS will be just fine.

Since I haven't contributed to BPF yet, and I'm not getting anything useful done today, and I was just admiring Mara's diamond picture (brain fart, can't remember the name for the photo by our IDs), here's one really crummy home bathroom shot I took yesterday. The thing I liked best about it? How the brightest spot in the picture was my ering diamond! One on the left is gut-sucked-in 22w4d, one on the right is letting it all hang out. I've only managed to gain 7.7lb so far, so not so hot.
It was a bad hair day (as usual), the lighting sucked, and I was not dressed for fashion. Nicely clashing lime green T-shirt and green scrubs bottoms.

ETA: Just remembered as I hit post - it's an avatar, right?

Glad you''re already feeling a little better, and that your last BP was low. PreE can pop up quickly, but the fact that the symptoms are resolving is probably the best sign. PreE generally only gets worse and worse till you deliver.

drk, you are teeny tiny for 22 weeks! You look great!!!! Can''t wait to see your progression, you have to take more photos!

DRK, thanks again. I think the migraine came on from lack of sleep, and it sucks when so many pre-e symptoms are also migraine + pregnancy symptoms! My face is not swollen, my hands have BEEN slightly puffy for months (haven''t worn my rings in months, so sad), and with my migraines I also get nausea. No pain in the belly other than the usual butt-out she gives me (does anyone else get that? She rolls around and sticks out her butt and it KILLS), no decrease in urine production...

THANK YOU, though, for thinking of it. I''m still going to call, to see what they think I should do. I have a loooong history of migraines and this is the first I''ve had in a few months. Previously a Coke removed it, but I was stuck in the office and couldn''t run and get one.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!

omg DRK you are TINY for 22 weeks...that is crazy!!! i couldn''t even SUCK MY GUT IN after like week 10. how come you haven''t gained more, just not been able to? it always amazes me how everyone''s body is sooo diff.... i feel like my stomach is huge, but other people say it seems small. but then i see smaller. and larger. so funny.

kaleigh, we def are going to try to make the trip... i was just looking at hotels and the like. even if it''s just like 4 days to get away, it''s worth it since the flight is not that long (4 hours i think).

sha...we are going to do the perineal, i read online that it has a 20% rate of helping you not tear (as much) during labor. i know that it also depends on your labor, aka if its very fast then you might tear anyway... but i figure 20% is better than a 0% lol. PG did it and said it was a bit painful at first but that it gets better. i found some diagrams online to show how to do it. i figure make the hub do it...he can be useful right? they say to do it i think within 4-5 weeks before birth? my dr said too soon and it really doesn''t help much, you have to get it ready almost right near labor but give it time to stretch.

labor freaks me out but i just don''t think about it. i figure THOUSANDS of women do it all the time right? and most women do it multiple times! surely i can get through it once (please god!!)...haha.

tao the room is super cute!

HUGE CONGRATS Tao and Viz!!!!!

Pheonixgirl, Taovandel & Vizsla, congrats on your beautiful babies!!!

Swimmer & Drk, I love your ultrasound pics!

SparklyLibra, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Sorry I have been totally out of the loop for a couple of weeks - last week my dad (who lives out of state) had to go in for emergency open heart surgery, and had a quadruple bypass. He will be fine, but I flew to FL to be with my family for most of the week. DH worked from home for a few days to take care of DS, and we''re just now getting back on schedule.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention it in case I missed out on anyone else''s important news. All the baby pictures are so beautiful!

Regarding the Chinese Gender Chart, it was right for me with my first child when it told me that I was having a boy, but it told me that I would have a girl this time and my 16 week ultrasound showed that I was having a boy - so, it''s as accurate as anything else - 50/50 chance ;)
