Tacori===thatd work w/ a sane person, but my moms terms are unnacceptable.....

So, I''m better off, WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better off without her, as are my kids. It hurts, because when she''s nice, she can be really nice, but she has a crazy look in her eyes, and you can sense the turmoil and the storm just beneath her surface, and you can never tell what will set it off. I must say my life is less complicated without her.

Well, I guess you answered your own question then. No one needs a toxic relationship so I would cut off all ties. Is she local? (sorry if you already mentioned where she lived I can''t remember).

MrsS, I can''t wait for your to mind out! I bet it was the baby.

I agree with tacori. when it comes to my kids safety NOTHING is more important and I don''t care if it was my mom or not, If I had even the slight doubt or worry, no way i''d let me kids around her. sounds like you know what the right thing is to do!!

thanks tacori, I can''t wait to find out too.

njc, congrat. on the new baby

...ur delivery is super fast

divergrrl, I''m sorry to hear about you and your mom, but I guess trust ur instinct. do what you think it''s best for your kids.

Tacori E-ring, I''m sure if your water breaks in public, embarrassment will be the last thing on your mind
5.gif

mrssalvo, I''m sure that is your baby saying hi to you. I felt my baby first move at 14 weeks going into 15 weeks..

ok ladies, I have questions. can anyone recommend a good stretch mark cream or oil? I discovered stretch marks on my boobs couple weeks ago. I cried so hard my husband just stand there didn''t know what to do. I cried my self to sleep that night. (I know...kind of silly) Yesterday I was shocked to find more stretch marks on my butt, that is the last area I expect to see stretch marks I guess. And they just show up like over night
29.gif

diver - i can sorta relate, sans kids, with you and your mom. can you ignore her & the gifts? open them, but ignore that she sent them, etc? if she brings it up and asks about them say casually thanks...? i find that if i don''t feed into it and cut things short they fizzle out on there own. not the best way to deal with things typically, i know, but in this case would it work for you? she''s probably giving gifts to get back "in" with you, relationship wise.

Lili, most ladies'' water doesn''t break. It is rare that it is a big gush like in the movies (but possible). For some people it is a slow leak which is confusing b/c you will have so much discharge anyways. My doc said it would run down my leg if it was my fluid. I am not sure a panty liner would help. I know at my class she was against them b/c they will ask you in L&D how much, what it looked like, and what it smelt like (it is supposely sweet smelling).

Ebree, everytime after we BD I would wonder if *that* was the time. My DH thought I was crazy. I actually got sick during implantation (I SWEAR it was b/c of it) and I remember telling DH maybe I was preggo and he thought I was nuts! Maybe it was shock but I don''t think he even believed I was preggo until HE saw the positive test for himself. I had one cycle off the pill before we TTC. I was on BC for 13 years so my poor body had to adjust.

Bobo, cream and oils are not proven to help stretch marks. It is mostly genetics and the speed of weight gain. I wish there was something out there. Maybe one day.

Congrats NJC!! Yay for a Hokie baby!! Jon is a great name too. Maybe you can give the hubby some gentle hints... and if that doesn''t work "accidentally" knock his computer out the window
11.gif
. I will never understand boys and their games. Can''t wait to see pictures of your baby boy!

Bobo--i think stretch marks on the butt are pretty common. I just read Jenny McCarthy''s preganacy book (Belly Laughs) --a friend gave it to me and I finished it in one evening. It''s a really easy, fun read. I laughed so hard at some points--she seemed to have dealt with most of the icky stuff that pregnancy can throw at you.....so as a cheer-up I suggest you get it and read it tonight.

Mrs.S. yea to feeling the baby kick. I just hit week 16 and while I was on the plane to NYC this past weekend I was sure I felt a slight ''tap tap'' --it didn''t feel like gas (which I am all too familiar with) or a muscle spasm (which is also common for me after an ab workout) this was something new. I am not totally sure it was the baby, but felt different. I am waiting till I know for certain to make that ''announcement''--thinking it will be another couple of weeks at least.

Tacori--I am thinking of you--getting closer....
oh and you are not sick for thinking about the birthstone, cuz i did too
2.gif
. I am due March 26th (march is aquamarine, which is pretty) but I thought hmmmm, if the baby is just a *few* days late s/he will be an April baby, and we all know what comes with April
9.gif

(i also told DH that if the baby is born in april that means the mom naturally gets diamonds--specifically 1c RB stud earrings from T & Co.) haha

Gosh there''s so much info in this forum!

Congratulations diver and njc!!! I''m hoping you go a little early for your family''s sake Tacori!

haha Jas on the april baby thing. i have one april baby, well she''ll be 6 and this one is due the 10th and i was thinking the same thing...yay, another diamond birthstone baby. both my girls were early though so it could easily be a march baby as well.

njc, congrats mom!!!

Awwww Tacori you have such the cute preggo belly. I had my daughter at 38 weeks, 6lbs 4 oz. My son was born at 37 weeks and he weighed a whopping 6 lbs 14 oz. Funny how that works, I gained the same amount of weight with both.
How are you feeling?? Is it hard to sleep??

Oh rub it in Lisa!
2.gif
I am telling myself I am going to be late so I am not disappointed. Like watching a pot of water boil huh? I think I have offically past up my mom and have now been pregnant longer than she ever had with the three of us. I am feeling okay. Biggest problem is heart burn. Ouch!
14.gif
Zantac is not working very well. Also the pressure (on my cervix) gets uncomfortable when I am walking. Sleeping...what''s that? I don''t sleep well at all. Usually I fall asleep around 3 am and wake up every half hour or so. I guess I better get used to that part.

I have been getting so many nice comments from strangers though. This guy at Lowes told me how cute I was and how he thinks pregnant women are just so adorable. The cashier informed me not to be nervous b/c now they give you a shot in the back and sometimes down below so I won''t feel a thing
20.gif
and the UPS lady told me I looked so healthy.

Tacori, you look so cute! You are not huge! My neighbor, she''s huge...She walked by the other day and my son whispered, "Is she was having twins?" I told him that she was not and she wasn''t due for two more months! I feel so sorry for her. Her poor belly looks like a torpedo! She doesn''t even look preggo from behind...It''s all in front. It''s so funny how different people carry!

Congratulations njc!

I had a burning heartburn with Ashley, and had to try to sleep upright. Zantac didn''t exist back then. I think I chewed Maloox?? But the pain was unbearable. Once I even got a shot for it, as I was crying in agony. Plus she loved to kick me right in that spot
39.gif

I''m not trying to rub anything in, was just thinking back to when I had my babies. I know you know that.
3.gif

You look terrific, and am soooo excited for you!!!
36.gif

Miranda, thank you! I FEEL huge. Everyone carries differently. Luckily no one has asked if I am having twins! I think I would cry.

Lisa, I am just teasing you! I know you didn't mean anything by it. I tried to sleep upright but I just can't get comfortable like that. It is such a cycle. Pepsi really helps the heart burn. That's all the relief I get. Did your daughter have a lot of hair? (old wive's tale) Some of my baby's kicks are really painful too. It's getting strong. Thanks for the compliment. We are really excited too. I can't wait to meet my baby.

Tacori you look adorable. I bet you can''t wait!!! I hope these last few days fly by!!! I am so happy for ya!

Tacori, love your belly

Looks like you are carrying it high? That could mean it''s a boy (at least according to old wives'' tals

tacori, you look sooo cute. I know you *feel* huge but don''t look it in the pics.

We''ll know soon! Hehe! I think it is SO hard to judge with me b/c I am so short (5''1"). Poor baby has no where to go but out. I can feel the baby''s butt really high ALL the time. I was just thinking last night I wonder if it will sleep on it''s knees with its butt in the air (when it is older) b/c I swear that is how it is now. Such a show off!
2.gif
I used to babysit for a little boy who slept like that. It was pretty cute.

Thanks MrsS. I do have to say all the positive comments I am getting lately are helping me feel better (and take my mind off my aching back). My belly is SOOO round it is funny. My belly button never popped? Is that unusual? Does the baby ususal move more or less right before labor? I am guessing the baby hasn''t fully dropped yet b/c its butt moves side to side. (S)he doesn''t seem to be "locked" into any position yet.

Hi Ladies! I''ve been MIA lately, it''s been a really busy and tiring few days -- so much to catch up on!

First things first, CONGRATS NJC on your baby boy!!! And how fantastic that you had such a fast delivery -- loooooove good l&s stories like that! Can''t wait to see some photos of little JW
36.gif
Also I hope things have improved with DH and that he came around and started to help out more! I have to imagine that it''s pretty typical for new dads to feel completely clueless and then just regress to being helpless little boys (sigh).

And Diver, we need new photos of Miss Delaney too! As for your Mom, maybe your hubby could go through the boxes so you don''t have to and then donate the stuff if you don''t want to have it around or maybe sell it to a consignment shop? I know that I almost always remember who gave me things so if you think that you would always think of your Mom when you see a certain outfit, then it''s probably better to just get rid of them. I think that if you go back and read your posts here, you''ll have the answer to your own question about what to do ... tough situation though, for sure. As I said before, just because someone is your relative doesn''t mean that you need them in your life.

Tacori, you''re adorable!! You look like you''re nearing the end of a healthy preganancy -- not HUGE by any means, just healthily with child! Now the anticipation begins for us preggos, waiting to have a little lull of no Tacori messages and wondering, "Did it happen?!" -- hee hee! How exciting!

EBree, good luck!!

Bobo, yep, all the preg books and web sites say that if stretch marks are gonna happen, then they''re gonna happen regardless of what you use -- my MIL swears that''s not true though. I''m currently using Mama Mio cream, and it''s really rich and I love it. And no stretch marks for me yet! But I do expect them to come eventually ... I mean, there''s only so much your skin can grow, you know? But I think that keeping your skin moisturized really well does help with elasticity so maybe it keeps the stretch marks from showing up earlier? Not sure. I think all the good ones use any or all of these: vitamin e, cocoa butter, shea butter, avocado oil, apricot oil. Not sure that the more expensive ones (like the one I''m using, but it was a gift) are any better than a $3 tube of cocoa butter from the drugstore though!

So I had my baby shower yesterday, and it was awesome! We got some of the big stuff -- car seats, pack and play, swing, diaper champ, snap-and-go stroller, monitors -- and lots of little things -- blankets, clothes, clothes, clothes, and more clothes. I was really surprised at how many people bought stuff NOT on the registry. I mean, we appreciate everything we got, but we really could''ve used some stuff off the registry instead of three baseball-themed onesies, you know? But everything was really cute, and it was a great day
36.gif
My friend did an *amazing* job with decorating -- the place was so gorgeous!! We got a new camera from my Mom too so once I figure out how to get the photos of it, I''ll share a few with you guys

I PROMISE I will not keep you waiting as long as njc did! I am way too addicted to this site. It is so surreal to think it could happen any day. I still have my plug so I am not expected my water to break soon but the contractions could start. We better install that car seat! Sounds like you have a great shower!
36.gif
I was surprised how many non registry gifts we got too. I think it would have been more if we knew the sex though. I guess people are just drawn to the clothes instead of a diaper pail. I still need to buy some born free bottles, a breast pump, and I really want a bundle me for our Ohio x-mas trip. But those things can wait a month or so. My BF teacher said not to introduce a bottle for 3 weeks and it is still in the high 70s here.

Can't wait to see pics!!!

ella,
sounds like your shower was great. what awesome stuff you got. I don''t know why folks buy things that aren''t on the registry. they did that for my wedding too.

tacori, I loved the Buddle Me. it will definitely come in handy when you go to Ohio, you may even use it a bit in NC. I used mine in TN often enough. many times i just didn''t put a coat on Lily, just her clothes and a sweater and used the buddle me as the coat if we were just running errands and weren''t going to be outside exept to run into a store. it really was great, and then you just unzip it in the store and they are comfy inside too.

tick tock for you girl.....any day now
36.gif

Yep, I still need some Bundle Mes too -- I have one lite one that is a hand-me-down, but I need one more of those as well as two of the heavier ones for winter. Want, want, want, need, need, need ... it never stops!

Here are some shower photos ...

First up, the preggo star of the day

oh ella you look great!! love the dress, too cute!!!

we went to a performance today and I have no dress up maternity clothes so I ended up wearing an Ann taylor black dress. my little belly was popping out but I think i''m finally looking like i''m preggo and not just packing on lbs. I go to the dr. tomorrow so we''ll see how the weight gain is going.
