Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

All shirts I bought that worked over my big belly were just a size bigger than I would normally wear. No pants would work for this on me, though!

Old Navy and Target t-shirts (the longer styles) have worked for me.

okay, i''m making this plea again - can someone recommend some good non-maternity maternity clothing that worked/is working for your pregnancy? not so much pants, but dresses and shirts or just stores in general would be so much appreciated.
35.gif

for me:

non-maternity -
j.crew // shirts + pants

maternity -
target // liz lange maternity dress + tissue shirts
gap maternity // shirts + tank + dress
destination maternity // bra + shirt + bellaband [though, their brand of it]

Lulu- What do you mean by "non-maternity maternity"? Do you mean not maternity clothes at all that you can wear AS maternity clothes? Or do you mean maternity clothes that don''t "look" maternity?

I wore a lot of non-maternity tops and dresses. J Crew, Gap worked for me as I just bought in bigger sizes. The main problem is making sure the tops are long enough to cover your belly. Also check out Velvet, Splendid, those kinds of lines tend to work as well.

FWIW, I could wear all of my clothes till about 20 or 22 weeks and then I had to bust out the maternity pants. But tops fit until the very end.

As for non-maternity looking clothes- Pea in the Pod has "designer" maternity clothes that tend to be as close to regular clothes style-wise, but they are pricey.

Isabella Oliver has amazing stuff- I bought a dress and some work stuff that I wore to death- but it''s very pricey. Though they have these ruched tanks that I lived in and would gladly pay any amount for. I wore them for a few months post preggo as well. Loved them. Here''s a link:
http://www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/maternity-wear-bestsellers/The-Ruched-Cami/D/30100/P/1:900:5000/I/TP007

Also, Ann Taylor loft has some decent stuff. They were restructuring or something when I was preggo, but I looked at their stuff the other day and it looked good. And the usual suspects, Gap, Old Navy, etc.

Oh, I also bought a bunch of empire waisted or baby style dresses and wore those a ton. When it was colder I just threw on leggings from American Apparel that fit me through the whole pregnancy. Oh, AA also has great tops that I could wear the whole time.

Oh and Target! Both their mat clothes and regular clothes worked for me.

I bought a bunch of basics and just wore the same thing all the time.

Hope that helps.

RE: non maternity clothes; Most shirts that are one size bigger should work. Empire waisted or the cinched bottom shirts work well too. Anything that''s long will give you the extra room. I was able to continue to wear the "normal" clothes after I had JT. A lot of my things came from Old Navy. I had to wear maternity pants so I''m no help there.

thanks, so much for the suggestions - now, I just need to get my belly into some fitting rooms!

china - i meant non-maternity clothes that worked even during pregnancy and monkeypie's suggestions about looking for longer lengths in tops seems like a very good suggestion. However, maternity clothes that aren't so obviously maternity are welcome too

I have a dress and two long sleeve t-shirts from isabella oliver that I snagged from ebay - (new) - and agree that it is great. did you purchase any of their pants for work and if so which would you recommend. I went the ebay route because I couldn't justify the cost, but if i'm wearing them constantly, i may be convinced.

thanks shiny that's very practical advice that I'll be following soon! I, too, need maternity pants. I'm not one that can just slide on my oldies for 20 weeks...

Hello Ladies! Lurking and stopping by to say

I am sad cuz I can''t wear my wedding rings!

Don''t fit anymore, fingers are slightly swollen...

Have an awesome day, mamas!

lulu - ALL the tops I wore while preggo were not maternity, I just bought one size up and made sure it was a longer length type of shirt. Most everything was bought at Old Navy, I didn't want to spend a fortune and their tops were all long enough for me to wear. Towards the end I lived in their basic ribbed tanks. I had trouble finding maternity tops to fit me even in the end...not sure why.

ETA: I carried pretty compact until about week 34 or so, I think that I had a lot to do w/ why I never needed maternity tops (I have a longish torso).

lulu, I wore lots of H&M and Zara non-maternity stuff as maternity clothing. Good prices and you can wear it post-preg. I tried not to go crazy on actual maternity clothing because it''s so temporary.

so i''m freaking out slightly - had my 36 week appt today and when i went out to make my appt for next week, the appt girl said, oh by the way, the doc wants you to have a formal ultrasound next week also so we''ll need to get that scheduled. my first reaction was "cool! we get to see the baby!" but then i started thinking wait, i thought there were no more unltrasounds on my plan unless medically neccesary. so i asked why and the girl said the doc wants to check on the baby''s growth. the doc didn''t mention it at all during the appt. so now i''m worried that she noted something abnormal and didn''t tell me. is it because i haven''t gained any weight for a couple of weeks? and i forgot to ask her what my uterus was measuring so now i''m worried maybe the amniotic fluid is low and the uterus measured small so she wants to check. and i couldn''t ask her because she was already with another patient. i had asked about the lack of weight gain last time and she wasn''t worried then, said that i likely hit my plateau. and gingerbaby is still really active so i was taking comfort in that, but now i wish i had stayed behind to ask the doc why. is it typical to get a 37 week ultrasound? or do you only get one if something is wrong?

cello - woohoo! never thought i''d be cheering someone on for having bloody mucous.
37.gif

sunkist - thanks for the list. and thanks for the reminder i''ll need to stock the pack n play changing table also (we live in a 3 story story and i''m hoping to not have to run up and down the stairs all day).

ginger, I know a lot of people that got more ultrasounds in the last 4 weeks than they did throughout the whole pregnancy. I think it has a lot to do with being close and wanting to monitor stuff like the amniotic fluid, baby''s position, that sort of thing. I doubt it meant gingerbaby is in distress!

ginger, it's common to have a 36 week ultrasound to check on the baby and growth. i just had mine. so maybe that is what it is? actually one of my friends had hers at 35. so maybe it's a 'range'. but i wouldn't worry, if the dr is willing to wait a week to have you guys come in i tend to figure it can't be anything serious or else they'd have you come in sooner, right? my dr checked fluid visually. she didn't do any real 'sizing' just checked him out in general to make sure he looked good.

rps, nope it's not just you with the astrology thing. i am into it too, but my mom is really into it! plus her father, who she adored and died when i was one, was an aq and he apparently was a wonderful person, and i think she feels like it would be a great tribute if the baby boy was one too. but for me either cap or aq is fine. and she is pretty funny, she is always calling me going how are you feeling, keep him in there!

lol MP..i know i am a mean mommy making Greg go with the boy...but i figure he should right??? my friend's hub went with their son hehee. our hospital lets a designated person go everywhere with the baby if you want.

lulu, i wore a lot of non-mat clothes. i am still wearing regular sweaters i wore before baby as well but yeah they are kind of shortie now, so i layer with really long tanks. but i echo the others who said buy one size bigger. i got away with this until about 32 weeks. i also picked up a few empire waist dresses and things that went in under the boob and wore those..people think they are maternity but they aren't and they are more flattering i think. i also wore a lot of leggings with longer tunic kind of things too. the gap maternity leggings are really comfy...my fave so far. and i wore a lot of maternity tanks since they are longer, and i would just layer with regular sweaters and tops.

Mara, when we had our son circumsized we weren''t given that option. I am glad Greg can go be with him.

In our hospital this was done next to my room. My doc a woman did 3 in a row. I knew my son''s cry. It wasn''t bad. But what she said afterwards still is with me. She prouldy said, well your son has the perfect little pecker...

Ummmm thanks???

Cello, hooray for it being time!

Lulu, I bought a few long tops at Kohl''s that have served me well, and were really inexpensive. A friend gave me some good layering pieces, ribbed, long sleeves, and I bought a few jackets and sweatshirts to wear over those. I''ve been extremely frugal with maternity clothes as we know they don''t last.

Had a bit of an accident today, a girl was playing handball and came running off the court to save the ball, stumbled and landed with her back against my stomacch. Neither one of us fell, but my right side is a bit sore. Called my OB, have been resting and doing extra kick counts (which isn''t a big deal, she kicks all the time) just to make sure she''s acting normal. John freaked out a bit, he seems calm now though.

Cello - good luck! If that was your water breaking this morning, they likely won't let you go more than 24 hours before inducing labour if it doesn't start on its own. Hope you end up with a fast and easy labour!

RE circumcision. I don't think I'd do it if we were having a boy. I don't think my Dad or brother are circ'd, and DH isn't. I also watched a few as a med student that were done by the family doc I was working with (it's not covered by public insurance here). The babies did cry. But they didn't even get tylenol or EMLA cream or anything ahead of time to reduce the pain. Parents were never allowed to stay because the doc didn't want them to be traumatized. The babies were strapped into some plastic form so they couldn't wiggle around and make it harder. They cried, but I think were relatively easily comforted afterwards.
If DH or other relatives were circumcised, I might consider it for my son, but I'd make sure to give him tylenol 30-60min ahead of time and be sure the doctor used freezing or prescribed me some local anesthetic cream to apply ahead of time to numb up the foreskin. I think the only real benefit I've read about is decreased transmission of HIV/STDs. Of course I hope no son of mine will be a male slut, and that they'll be clever enough to use condoms. But since this is a girl, I really haven't done much research.

Ginger - I wouldn't freak. I think if there were any concern, your doc would have definitely said something to you while you were in there. You can always check your symphysis-fundal height yourself too, if you know what the previous measurements have been. And I think it's very common for weight gain to plateau later in the third trimester. If you have good insurance, maybe they're just making sure they can bill for one last scan? And they probably want to guestimate the size, even though that's not terribly accurate.

Cello- Now THAT was a funny post! You go girl!!!! Mucho labor dust to you. And since you''ve had such a crappy pregnancy, may you have the easiest and smoothest delivery possible.

Ginger- Don''t worry. My belly measured behind at around my 36 week appt and my doc did an u/s right then to check my fluid. Fluid was low, so I was ordered to quit work and take it easy to see if I could bring the fluid back up, otherwise they would have to induce. Point being if they were really worried about your fluid or something, the doc wouldn''t be waiting a week. I think they do one around 36/37 weeks to try and guesstimate the size of the baby, etc. No worries!!!!

Hey Ginger, don''t freak about the u/s! I think some docs do them routinely at the end to check for stuff like fluid levels (like China had done), to confirm position and to do a weight guesstimate. One thing to keep in mind is that weight guesstimates from late u/s can be off by up to TWO pounds in either direction so don''t worry if they tell you you''re having a big baby. =)

Mara, now you''ve made me feel a LOT better. I swear, sometimes I feel like I should be wearing peasant skirts and quit shaving because of my not quite mainstream interests. Your mom sounds hilarious!

Kim, I''m sorry you were run into! Your peanut is so well cushioned that I''m sure she''s fine. I hope your side feels better soon! I was in a car accident when I was pregnant with my middle son -- a truck slid on ice and hit the back corner of my car, causing it to spin, so not too bad. I still have neck/shoulder/back issues 15 years later, but he was/is perfectly fine.

Non-maternity maternity clothes: I''m totally jealous of those of you who can wear non-maternity clothing!! I am at the point where I''m busting out of my maternity clothes! Some of my shirts *barely* cover the belly at this point.

Big excitement with me tonight:

1. I ordered my new pump. I''m so psyched about it, so yes, I do need to get a life! I''m getting the Medela Freestyle and hope that it''s as good as I''ve heard.

2. We went to Lowe''s to pick up the garden hose that we need to fill the birth tub and that''s the last thing we had to do for prep work.

3. I had a chili cheeseburger from Sonic for dinner, and while it has to be horrible nutrion-wise, it tasted SO GOOD. I try not to eat bad food too often, but sometimes nothing else hits the spot quite as well. LOL!

CELLO!! Happy Anniversary and Laboring- can't wait to hear from you

Ginger- I hope that everything is OK and that the ultrasound is just standard practice

MP- Cute hat!

Kimberly- Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you're doing better!

Work has once again been NUTS this week- lots of folks are in from other offices and we have a huge all-staff meeting tomorrow. Had a team lunch today and shared the news with all- it's kinda nice to be "out"!

The minute I told her I was PG, my mom has been a bit overbearing with me being super-safe. She can be a bit ridiculous sometimes: "why are you stretching up like that" (reaching up to a cupboard to get a bowl). "No, don't bend down to tie your shoes- let me do it!". Seriously, she thinks I'm a delicate flower or something. So, we go to dinner Sun night and I slipped in the restaurant as I was walking in front of her- figures. I felt myself falling so I did it as safely as possible- I sank to my knees. It wasn't a hard fall at all. My mother just about died ("ay... Dios mio!"). She's called me at least 2x/day making sure I'm OK. My knee is a teeny bit sore, but that's about it.

I'm totally looking forward to the weekend- we're heading up to San Francisco and the Russian River area for our annual Winter Wineland weekend. Us and 3 other couples rent out a vacation house, and we just cook, chill and go wine tasting. I get to be the DD this year

LOL she sounds just like my mom! Everything is, "Aye, dios mio!" nowadays - you would think we were made of glass. I keep telling her I''m PG, not dying lol. I love my mommy.

Cello - I hope that it was your water breaking, and hopefully you are progressing through a smooth labor! Can''t wait to hear about baby Cello!

Regarding Circumcision:
We decided to circumcise our son because of problems in men in my family who were NOT circumcised at birth. In our culture, circumcision is not practiced. So, my dad isn''t circed, and neither were either of my brothers. However, when my younger brother was around 8 months old, he was developing recurring infections (even with excellent hygiene - my mother bathed him twice a day) and one infection got so bad that he developed a high fever and had to be hospitalized. So, they circumcised him when he was 8 months old, and he didn''t have any problems at all after that.

My older brother (who is not circed) decided not to circ his son either. However, his son started having recurring infections as well, but they didn''t get really bad until he was around 5 years old, when the doctors finally recommended circumcision. My brother & SIL said that having to circ a 5 year old was horrible, because he knew what was going to happen, and he was in pain when he urinated for a few days afterwards. They said that in retrospect, they totally wished that they had done it when he was a baby.

So, when we found out that we were having a boy, we decided to circ. My husband is circed, and so are all his friends and men in his family, but he said that we should just do whatever the doctors recommended. We figured that after the problems in my family we would do it, and besides, maybe it would be better if he resembled his dad. Now that we are having another boy this spring, we will circ him as well.

For my son''s procedure, they used the numbing cream, and they also suckle on a sugar solution given to them by the nurse. As RPS mentioned, as long as you keep the area clean and well lubricated with Vaseline, they heal quickly. I figured that it was better for him to have some discomfort that he probably wouldn''t even register for a few days at birth than to go through the agony that my brother and nephew had to go through when they were older from the infections.

Yea Cello! Hope you''re either having a smooth labor right now or holding baby Cello!

My c-section is scheduled exactly 2 weeks from today...yikes! I''m feeling all kinds of nerves about the actual surgery and how our life is about to change. I''m excited though! Have a good day everyone!

Thanks, RPS and Charger. I feel fine this morning, still tender but no big deal. I woke up realizing I hadn''t felt the baby kick last night (slept pretty well!) and freaked a bit but then she had the hiccups.

I have my gestational diabetes class today from 9-12. I''m glad to be learning what exactly I need to be doing. Should be interesting.

Wow, I feel like this thread has been moving so fast lately!

Congrats to HH and LIA on your pregnancies!

Cello, hopefully everything is moving along and you will have your little one soon.

For non-maternity clothes, as I mentioned a few pages back, I looove the American Apparel unisex thermal tops, they are made long and so comfy. I also stocked up on some longer tanks and tees at Old Navy, as they are cheap and do the trick. And I have a couple of this sweater/cardigan/wrap things, b/c it doesn''t matter how big your belly gets they will still fit!
2.gif
And I like being able to sort of wrap it up if I''m feeling cold. They are probably my favourite items right now.

Regarding circumcision, we are not doing it. My FI (and I assume the rest of his family) is not, and doesn''t want to do it to our son. We don''t have any religious reasons for it, and I am just not comfortable with it overall. Rates in Canada are actually significantly lower than in the US (about 30% vs 75%) which I didn''t know and found quite interesting.

Yesterday I had an appointment with my OB. Everything seemed good, heartbeat was strong. However, because when we went for the ultrasound my placenta was low lying, she put me on pelvic rest for the next seven weeks to avoid preterm labour. Fi was not too thrilled about that! This would put me at 30 weeks, but he is still not comfortable with doing anything until the 32 week ultrasound, when we find out if the placenta has moved up or not. And by then, I''m sure I will not feel up to it as I assume I will be huge and uncomfortable.
20.gif

I also didn''t think to ask her if I should avoid exercise? One of the workouts I do may be out, but would gentle yoga matter? Has anyone else had this situation?

oh i love American Apparel stuff too, super long tanks. also American Eagle and Abercrombie if you like their stuff, they usually have long tanks...i typically love AE tops because they have really long arms and I do too, and am still wearing some of their tanks and even some of their zippered sweatshirts from before preg.

i didn''t buy too many mat clothes and didnt want to spend a lot on a short period in my life, so i am pretty happy with the ''blend'' i''ve had and grateful that my company is casual so that i didn''t have to get suits and things like that..mostly leggings, sweaters, tunics, flats. I am tired of hearing about how CUTE I am. for anyone familiar with how I look (fairly exotic I guess)...cute is not something I have ever been called before in my life!
3.gif

oh and i second/third whoever said Isabella Oliver clothes are super cute, they are. i was eyeballing that ruched tank for a while but never went for it. and they had the CUTEST wrap sweater i also never bought but it was like $100.

PB..i would ask about the exercise. if they put you on pelvic rest i would assume that means nothing strenuous?

Steph... yay 2 weeks!! i am hoping to be in LABOR within 2 weeks hehe but we''ll see. my coworker thinks i will go end of next week which would be great since it would be just about 8 days hehe and it would give me one week off work which is really all i want to get all my ''errands'' done.

RPS...yay for the pump!! i def want to get mine but i figure i''ll rent from hospital for first month to make sure bb''s are working ok before forking the $300 over. can you post the final site you chose to purchase from again so i can save it? oh and i had a McDonalds big mac last nite! HAHA. my weight gain has kind of stalled too which apparently is not unusual for last month or so, but i want kid to get fatter!

kimi..sorry about the run in. the other day portia kind of plopped down next to me and slammed into the belly. it actually really hurt, but the belly itself was fine haha. kid is pretty well cushioned in there but your muscles might be like ''hey!!''.

Cello sending you huge labor vibes!!

Thanks for the reassurances about the U/S. I think it just worried me that she didn''t (likely just forgot) to mention it to me during the appt coupled with the fact that I KNOW I haven''t gained much weight lately (which is not something I thought I''d be worried about!).

mara - hubbs is a cap and he is totally mellow and laidback -- great counterpoint to my more OCD intense scorpio-ness.
12.gif
. i just wanted to say i''m quite partial to cap men (obviously) just in case you don''t make it to the 21st, but for your mom''s sake, i''m sending aquarious vibes your way!

rps - my parents are very into lunar astrology (very imbedded into our culture) and have passed a bit on to me. although i tend to be very logic and evidence based driven (not surprising since i''m in a very scientific fact drive field) i to some degree subscribe to it also. very strange how the human mind can accept two conflicting POVs. anyway, that aside, we initially thought we were having a girl and our due date iss right at the brink of of the lunar new year -- which meant that it was a toss up between the baby being born in the year of the oxen (this year) vs the tiger (next year). can i just say when i found out that i might have a female tiger (my mother) i was a bit in horror
6.gif
(we had some turbulent times growing up) and the amount of internal intense wishing/pressure i felt to have the baby at the earliest safe point possible so that she would be an ox instead?
20.gif
and the huge sense of relief i felt when i realized that we were having a boy was almost comical as it didn''t matter quite as much anymore when he was born. i felt so illogical that i didn''t tell anyone, not even hubbs until pretty recently. he cracked up until i asked him if he wanted to try raising my mother. that shut him up real quick
3.gif

charger - lol...it''s only going to get worse as you start showing more and more. i was planning to go to the fair/festival thing with my siblings and cousins in mid-october, and my mom called me up the night before and started grilling me on what we would be doing and lectured me on not going into ANY HAUNTED HOUSES (not that i ever would, i''m such a weeny i can''t even watch scary movies). not because, she assured me, she was worried that i would get scared and go into pre-term labor or anything, but because SOMEONE ELSE moght get scared, start running, and bump into me
5.gif
. how she came up with this hypothetical situation is beyond me.

circ - this is def an area that i waffle about. no great evidence to go either way. i am not a fan of doing invasive procedures that hold no hard significant value and although benefit is there, it is so tiny that i wonder if it''s worth the also small but also present risk. which is why i''m letting hubbs decide -- that way if our ds complains in the future, i can say, daddy decided
3.gif

PB, when they put me on "modified rest" a while back, they said pelvic rest as well as no exercising or lifting anything...I would call and ask.

So I went to work today, and a few ladies told me that I’ve dropped and my belly is really low. And they are saying that I won’t make it to my due date. But I don’t see it. Last night, I felt some contractions and very, very mild cramps. Just BH, but my belly got so hard that I feel like it’s going to explode. LOL.

Circumcision
We decided to circumcise our baby. I am also wishy washy with this. In the end, we decided that it would be easier to clean, and that it’s a less complicated procedure as newborn than when the boy is older and needs it. I know there’s a big possibility that he won’t ever need it, but that’s one of our reasoning. I saw my cousin when he got it done at 12 and my coworker’s son who just got it at 16, and they just look so uncomfortable afterward during the healing period.

Lulu

Ditto on just buying longer tops and tunics. I have about 10 short sleeves maternity tops from the last pregnancy that I wore in my 2 nd tri when it was still warm. Once it started getting cooler, I just wore my regular sweaters and tops. That’s still working for me now at 37 almost 38 weeks. Stretchy materials also help.

RPS

I am happy with having the last couple weeks too, and not in a big hurry to go. So we’ll let Steph and Mara fight it out. LOL. And I kind of want the baby to come after my birthday, so we can go out to our last nice dinner before the new baby is here.
Jealous of your freestyle pump. I want one b/c I’ve heard how much easier it make pumping, but I can’t justify spending on a new pump when mine is just 1.5 yrs old.

Charger

Yay for coming “out”.
You’ll always be your mom’s baby. MIL and Mom are still like that with me, and this is my second baby.
Have a fun weekend in SF.

Steph

Yay for 2 weeks mark. I am more nervous with how life will be after birth this time around b/c there’s one more person’s life and feeling involved.

Kimberly

Hope you have a good day in class today.

PrettyBlues
I think you can’t do anything strenuous when on pelvis rest. I would just avoid exercise for the duration of the rest, just in case.

Mara
You are ready to go huh? Hope you get the wish of having baby boy in 8 days, so your mom gets her aquarius grandbaby.

Ginger
Tiger girl… SIL is a tiger, and if she is the sign of how a female tiger is, then I don’t want one. LOL. But there would’ve be no way that we would get a tiger anyways.

Hmmm, well I'm a female Tiger. And an Aries. Explains a lot. My mom has always said my sister is lucky they opted to even have another one after me. My fave thing to say to her was "You're not the boss of me".
11.gif

O was due smack dab in the middle of August, so he was clearly going to be a Leo. Which I was relieved by, I am surrounded by Leos and can deal with them. I bought all kinds of lion stuffed animals, etc.. I was worried I would go into labor early- only because my doctor was on vacation for 2 weeks prior to my due date- but really only b/c I really wanted a Leo. THEN he was super late, and he almost crossed into Virgo land. So funny that I even cared, but I did! I was sort of ok with Virgo, but for some reason not ok with Cancer. Don't ask me why, I have plenty of lovely Cancer friends!

ETA- The circ thing. Totally personal decision and I can see both sides. I was all for it until I actually got close to having him and then I just couldn't make that decision. So I let DH decide. The only thing that sways me is I would rather have it done as an infant where there is no memory of it than leave it to him to decide and have to do it at an older age when it would be (arguably) more painful and he would remember it. Of course, chances are if he was uncirced he wouldn't need to do it later, but still. To me either way IS deciding for him.

Steph, congrats on getting your date set! I would be nervous too, but I''ve heard that planned c-sections are much easier than unplanned.

I''m sure that you and QT will figure out life with 2 little ones very quickly! Going from 1 to 2 was the biggest change for me, but there were a lot of positives about it. Seeing your older child interact with the younger one is lots of fun, although I did have to stop my oldest from sitting on his little sister''s head once.

Mara, the site I ordered from was Add a Little Love. Mindy is super responsive to email requests. I asked her to call me to get my credit card number and she did when I was in the car on the way home -- by the time I got here, I had a UPS email with shipping info. I''ve read nothing but good reports about Mindy and her site, so I''m happy!

Ginger, first, the thing about raising your mother cracked me up! The whole thing with the lunar year is really interesting. It''s funny how some things, no matter how illogical, make us feel better. I think it''s especially true during pregnancy when we realize just how much we can''t control.

That''s interesting, too, that your hubby is a cap and you''re a scorpio and the two of you work well together. I''m a scorpio and dated a cap guy that drove me freaking bonkers. He was really nice and everything, but he couldn''t be ANYWHERE on time. It was a joke among his friends and he seemed to take pride in always being late. It didn''t bother me too much until he made me late for an appointment that was really important and I went off on him about it. It seemed to me that it was really disrespectful of everyone else''s time when he couldn''t manage to get where he needed to be -- as if his time was so much more important than anyone else''s. Maybe he was just a jerk and being a cap had nothing to do with it? LOL!

My SO is a Leo and I guess we''re not supposed to be compatible, but I think that since his birthday is July 24, he tends to have more Cancer traits than Leo ones.

QT, heh, sounds like Steph is set on her date and Mara''s going to hang in there until at least next Thursday, so I don''t think we''ll be seeing any fighting over going next. We''re going to be known as the women who refused to go into labor!

I can understand why you wouldn''t replace your pump. If you want to figure out a way to do it, though, you can do what I did -- lose vital pieces of the other, perfectly fine pump! LOL! I can find a dozen ways to rationalize buying a new one. I''m really frugal, but this is one area that I won''t go with the cheapest option.

Today I went for a prenatal massage and she also worked on the acupressure points that are known to stimulate contractions. It was the best day to do it because I slept weird last night I guess and woke up feeling various pains. I don''t find these massages relaxing because she''s working so many of my kinks out that it does hurt at times, but I know later, I will benefit because I''ll feel much, much better. Even if the acupressure doesn''t work, it was really interesting and since it''s totally non-invasive, I figure it can''t hurt.

lol re the scorpios ...i think we have a handful of preggo scorps right now! i think ginger is one too? i am one as well. and funny because leo is not supposed to be a good sign for us but i LOVE leos. my mom is a leo and my hub is one too. my first boyfriend who i adored was a leo. such egos!

i also love virgos. my grandma is a virgo and my sister is one too. they can be difficult but i love their candor and big heart.

rps, do you mind saying what you paid for the pump? i know you were shopping around, just curious re: final costs. if not it''s ok.

qt...sometimes in the evenings my belly gets CRAZY hard, i guess BH''s. it''s like a bone. and uncomfortable.

re: circ... i let greg make the decision but i am for it, so i am glad he is too. i would just rather have it done when he is little than later. i don''t know anyone who regrets their parents did it, and it''s very common around here so we figure why deviate from the norm and make him ''different''. but yeah it is a personal decision...i figure whatever floats people''s boats. it''s their kid!

I''m a scorpio too! How funny so many of us all due around the same time!
