Don''t worry Mand!! I''ll post my belly shot later when I actually shower and you will see a huge whopping 30+ week belly. hehee.

Steph, RPS, QT...I''m still here too!

QT...love your belly shot and the button. Mine is just starting to pop!
Other ladies, you guys are all so cute and so small!! love it.

cold update... i am sleeping better at night but @#&$! this thing is tenacious. i wake up still totally dry and congested even after 5 hours of sleep at a time. i have dedicated today to resting. Greg''s work is having a shower for him today...i really wish i could go and crash it but he works 45 min away so i''d have to shower and drive up and back and honestly i am just still so tired! so i said i''d try to come visit next week if baby is still inside.

drk...we have a gas oven and at first it did smell, it was brand new and i think it was just gas burning off or something? it happened the first few times we used it and i was paranoid too but greg checked it and said it was ok. since then (1 year) it''s been fine.

mtj...re working. i worked til 38 weeks and i guess a lot of people were like ''why are you still here'' and at greg''s work too they were like why is she still working? but i figured 2 weeks before is more than enough time to get whatever extra stuff ready and i didn''t want to be bored. well thanks to the cold i''m NOT...but i am glad i took 2 weeks off. most people say just to rest rest rest since you will not be getting it afterwards! but for people who work longer, more power to them. i am just glad i don''t have to shower and be anywhere now, it''s kind of mentally liberating! also it''s putting me in a different mind frame...like waking up and knowing i dont have to WORRY about anything is kind of fun for the first time ever.

re: weird comments, last week one of my friends at work was like ''you aren''t ready to have this baby, you are still all happy and chipper and smiling!''...i was thinking do i have to be totally miserable and bitchy to be ready? i hope not haha!

other funny comment...last nite my mom was saying ''isnt the codeine drugging out the baby too'' and i said ''obviously not because he''s still as crazy as ever in there!''...seriously i think our kid is like some freak of nature. i feel WAY more fingers and hands scraping the bottom, it''s almost like he has discovered he has fingers. i told greg he is probably totally high from the codeine and trippin'' like ''wow are these my hands, wow they are so cool''... HAHA.

on that note, back to bed with me. happy friday all and i''ll try to post a belly shot later, hopefully my last also!

TGIF- I''m loving all the belly pics!

Can''t wait for the weekend so I can chill. Work is driving me insane.

I miss posting here often- know that I''m thinking of you all!

i LOVE all the cute cute bellies!!!

I have a VERY BIG problem remembering to remove tags from new maternity clothes.

Last week was a jacket and a sweater, Sunday was a new dress for my shower, and today... I just reached back to scratch my back, and realized that I fogot to remove the tag on my cami.

JCrow, Mere and others- I wasn''t planning on bringing DH, think it''s way more fun without them b/c then we can chat about the real stuff of pregnancy and mommyhood that I promise you DH''s don''t like! But JCrow if you needed to bring hubby, of course we could do that, I just didn''t want to assume. But let''s do girls only if that is ok with everyone. Jcrow, I have no idea where the outlet mall is!

Let''s wait and see if Ginger chimes in and then I will throw some suggestions out there.

Mer- I did one prenatal yoga class at MC and really enjoyed it. It was way "harder" than I thought it was going to be for some reason, but in a good way. It''s definitely softer for pregnancy, but it still pushes you. It was fun meeting other preggos too. I would have done it more often but just ran out of time. Let me know how you like it! They have yoga for moms and babies, I keep meaning to take O, I think it would be hysterical.

You all look great!

i agree about the husbands.

so had my 37 week appt today. the little nugget is meausring perfectly en pointe to my dd at 37w2d exactly, which i would be much happier about if his head wasn''t meausuring at 39+
23.gif
. yeouch!!! i knew there''d be payback for me torturing my mom with my large head (forceps delivery here
40.gif
) poundage wise he''s already 6lbs+, which is just about on track with me and hubs (both 8lbs+ bebes
6.gif
). this is making me nervous about a succcessful vaginal delivery, but that being said both of our mothers were more petite than i am and they managed to shove both of us out
20.gif
. and to top off all the big numbers, i have absolutely NO signs of prgress. no MP, no BH, and my doc said my cervix is still up in Dallas somewhere
20.gif
. She mentioned DTD to move things along, which we were doing, but unfort I got hubbs sick, so two snuffleupagusses (one of whom is literally the size of one) just don''t add up to sexy time ya know?
3.gif

sigh...so far it looks like i''m in it for the long haul!

mtj - i''m working all the up until i''m in L&D, which is not unusual in my field as time off before means less time off after. wow, you mom was walking the line planning a shower on the 30th!

rps - i''d love to wear hot sexy heels, but hubbs is ont he shorter side so not to many hot sexy flats for me! actually the boots i love and would be sad about not being able to wear are two pair i got in argentina, both low/flat heels, one with an equestrian lok, one for punkishmotorcycle withthe buckle. the reason i''d be sad is i have chicken claves and american boots don''t fit my calves (i look like a child wading in my momma''s galoshes) and i obviously can''t afford to fly frequently to buenos aires where they seem to cut the boots for people with pretzel sticks for legs. dansko clogs are SUPER comfy, but you have to be fitted right, so be careful! they are really hard to return afterwards if you decide you don''t like em.

houston gtg - looks like i''ll prob make it based on my progress (or lack of) so far. i am free for both sat night and sun morn. i think a sun brunch would be nice, what do ya''ll think? i''m close to china cat in the med center, which is pretty central so wherever is fine. the premium outlets are way up NW(290 past the belt) jcrow. wasn''t planning on bringing hubbs, i think he''d freak out a bit thinking of spending a few hours with a bunch of preggos/new mamas
3.gif
.

GingerB- Now when we meet up you''ll have to show us your chicken calves!!! So funny.

I think brunch sounds lovely, I love brunch. And yes, no need to scare your DH, he''ll get plenty of info firsthand during delivery and in the first few weeks.

Does brunch on Sunday Jan 31 work for everyone? If so, I will be back with some yummy brunch ideas. And feel free to jump in with suggestions if you have them.

houston gtg - brunch sounds wonderful. just say where + when :] no need to make it where we''ll be since i can drive to wherever we''re meeting up. i was just giving a reference point to where i''d be coming from.

Yeah, my last day is Feb 3th. I now walk & waddle very slow, it''s funny cuz I feel so big and I am waddling all over the place! But, yeah, as for the baby shower, they planned it a little late because my mom had surgery in November and had to recuperate and thought it was best to have it then. Kinda late but oh well! This pregnancy has been bittersweet because I learned I was pregnancy at the same time we found out my mom had cancer. But, she is doing awesome, no traces of cancer and she is doing great just trying to get back to herself.

Re: comments- Everyone asks why I am so happy all the time...Okay, Like what you said Mara, am I supposed to be in b-mode all the time or what? Its funny, I am guessing that I am getting used to ppl throwing in their 2 cents all the time!

Back pain-Ladies, I am starting to get back pain! It feels like when you are about to get your period, kinda back pain! I am scared! But, I feel better now. Just need to rest but I wanna clean!

Brunch on 1/31 works great for me. I am coming from the SW, so anywhere around midtown, west u, galleria, etc. works for me!

China, the reason I decided to go to the MC prenantal classes, is because I want to do their "Mommy&Me" yoga after the baby is born! My sister did it with my niece and loved it. I also figure if I start with the prenantal, then I might meet some ladies that will be in the after baby classes as well.
I''m actually about 110% positive that this prenatal fitness class is going to kick my A$$. I need it though.
9.gif

Ok, brunch on the 31st it is.

Mer- I think you''re right, that all of the preggos in the prenatal class kept on and brought their babies to the mommy and me class. So cute, so wish I''d done that!

Ok, finally leaving work, will be back to post some brunch suggestions. Mer and Ginger, feel free to suggest something if you have favorites.

Oh and I am POSITIVE that one of you ladies is going to have your baby this weekend!!! I''m talking to YOU Mara, QT, RPS and Steph! Who''s it gonna be?????

whooping cough: my doctor gave me a form to fill out in recovery to get the shot...I''m glad I did now that I know even more about it

Yes, we now have resources at our disposal to help with this. Hopefully in the future we will be able to keep this all private among forum members only.

ella, wonderful! this makes me very happy + safer :]

Ginger, I''m sorry, I laughed at the chicken calves. Mine are pretty thin, too, so my riding-style boots are big, ugh.

Don''t be stressing about the size of baby''s head! You can handle it! Like I said before, babies'' heads are meant to mold, so even with a big head, you could get plenty of molding that makes delivery a breeze. Well, ok, probably not a breeze, but easy enough!

China, it''s going to have to be someone other than me this weekend! I simply don''t feel like I can relax enough to go into labor right now with all of the kids here and needing to finish some work. I found out today that my daughter''s riding lesson for this weekend has been moved from tomorrow at 9:30 to sometime Sunday after 3:30, which is good because I don''t have to get up and ready early tomorrow morning. Yay!

All your belly shots look adorable as usual! I figured since I look essentially the same, I don''t need to bother with a pic this week, LOL. Last night, I finally had to take out the curved barbell that I''ve had in my navel for 9 years. The other night, I was trying to squeeze out of the kitchen around kids and hit it on the counter, so it was red and sore. I showed SO because now it looks like I have two belly buttons, and he said, "EWWW..." since the top hole is red. Wuss.

I wanted to pass along some info I was thinking about earlier. On the one expecting group I read, I keep seeing women posting that they are too engorged for their babies to latch on. If this happens to anyone here, it can be just as easy to manually express some milk instead of putting together a pump and using that. Knowing how to manually express is also handy if you find yourself in a situation where you''re engorged and don''t have a pump around.

Here''s a link to Dr. Sears'' site with an explanation. It takes a bit of practice to get efficient at it, but it''s worth learning.

RPS thanks for the PSA re: engorgement. i have read that as well in the books as well to hand express a bit to help, but it''s one of those tidbits that prob flies out of your head as it''s happening.

re: labor this wkd i am hoping its ME!! i am hoping for sunday now. i was able to nap today and feel better, i think i should be mostly over this and hopefully all this sleeping is helping my body relax too! i have a bit more discharge than over the last few days when i was really sick so that is intriguing.

Greg''s coworkers were so sweet. they gave us this really cute big stuffed brown hippo, a $300 gift card to BRU (yay! stroller or breast pump!), an Avent bottle pack (which we needed more of) and an Aveeno care kit. i have heard rave reviews from Mom re: Aveeno so i am glad we have extras now.

it''s been amazing to me how generous coworkers are with showers and parties and the like. i don''t know why it really surprises me since i have given plenty of times to the ''stash'' for people at work but i guess it still does surprise me a little hehe.

ginger, yay for the measuring on track, not so yay on the big head! keep in mind sometimes those estimates are just ESTIMATES and a lot of times moms say that they are wrong and the dr''s overestimate. that is why my Dr didn''t even really estimate, she just palpitated my belly and gave a range. on the US the kid''s head filled the screen but she said it looked normal. lol.

PS...it is awesome that you preggos planning a GTG don''t have to post it in the forum, i pictured a bunch of women beating off a would be attacker with their bellies. i sooo know you''d ladies would win though!! though on the flip side, who''s still wearing their rings? hehee.

off to dinner now, mexican at our fave place with my sis ... i feel like every meal now could be my LAST hehe. i will try to take a belly shot before we go and upload later...i think my belly HAS grown this week so lets see.

All of you look great! And is this the most we''ve ever had at full term at the same time?
9.gif

More on what RPS said on hand expressing - I kept a bunch of prefolds near me as they''re good burp cloths, but they''re also absorbant enough that you can hand express into them if you''re just doing it just a little bit to relieve engorgement. I did this a lot when my milk first came in, as I often did not want to get out of bed and it took me quite a bit of practice to get to the point where I could hand express into a bottle.

Lindsey, I''ve been following your pregnancy from afar as well and really rooting for you guys. Andrew is a lovely name.

I had my ultrasound today and it went well
1.gif
Little nugget is still a boy, and growing right on schedule - 3 pounds 4 ounces now, measuring at 30 weeks 3 days. But me? I am measuring at 35 weeks because my amniotic fluid is in the 97th percentile!!! That''s nuts!

It''s not going to be me this weekend. Just went to 39 weeks appt today, and dr. says the baby is still pretty high. I am hoping the baby comes after Sunday, so we don''t have to share a birthday. =P

My guess is Mara first, then Steph, then RPS, and me last. hehe

hi guys!
i just LOVE the belly pics. i''m so darn bloated already, i think i look about the same as i did at 18 weeks last time (and i''m only at 8 1/2 now!!). definitely NOT time yet to post a pic. :) you guys all look just amazing!!

i''m sorry for a bit of a me-centric post (again), but i''m wondering if anyone here has any experience with some of the preterm labor stuff (drk???)...

i had my first official ob appt today, and man was it depressing!! i''ve already gained 1 1/2 lbs, but my ob is very happy about that b/c i''m starting off really tiny, and i only gained a total of 23 lbs last time. but it''s still hard to see the numbers start going up (as you guys know all too well).

anyway, we talked a LOT about preterm labor. i thought there was a slightly higher risk of having it happen again, but apparently it''s a REALLY high risk. and with a subsequent pregnancy, it usually happens earlier. i started having serious contractions at 26 wks and dilated at 28 wks with the first, so i can''t imagine going on bedrest much earlier than that!! my ob wants to be very proactive, which i like, but i don''t like her recommendations all that well!! basically it sounds like starting from mid-2nd trimester, she wants me on pelvic rest...no exercise, and no sex. she wants me to have a plan for what we''ll do with my son in case i have to be admitted to the hospital for awhile (
23.gif
), or if i''m put on strict bedrest at home. and she also brought up progesterone shots. i guess there''s some new data that has come out that starting injections in the 2nd tri can help prevent PTL (or sometimes not the contractions, but at least actual delivery which obviously is the desired end point!). does anyone know anything about this? i know they''re used a lot with IVF in the early weeks, but has anyone (drk??) had them later in the pregnancy? we are going to have a consultation with a high risk perinatologist soon so we can ask all our questions, but just wondering what you guys have heard...

thanks so much!!

i can''t WAIT to see who has their baby next!!!

LIA, so sorry. Reading your post was heartbreaking and very eye-opening because I''m in the same boat and know exactly how you''re feeling.
7.gif
Don''t have any advice but I''m hoping your have a NORMAL pregnancy this time around. No PTL crap this time! No bedrest! Glad they want to monitor you closely but some of their recommendations are very depressing. Hugs!

ok here is my really horrible iphone photo from tonite hehee. i am not quite 39 weeks, 2 more days.

lol QT you may feel like you are going to go last but you might go first!!!

LIA aww sorry that you had a bad appt. i don''t have anything to add re PTL and the bedrest but i am hoping that maybe you will be an exception, not the rule. i understand re: being proactive but is there a way to be proactive but not CRAZY proactive (bedrest?!) hahaa?

snlee do you have something to tell us?? hehee.

i fit a crazy amt of mexican in my belly, YAY. i think i wasn''t eating very much this week being sick and all so it prob wasn''t helping me get better. lots of carbs = getting better very quickly so yay.

oh and lately my giant snake child has decided he really thinks he is 1/2 the size he is and he keeps going entirely to the right and distorting my belly like CRAZY. i got a photo on my iphone so if i can edit it (its naked belly so a little personal!) i''ll post it.
