HH and JCrow, I would be HONORED if you wanted to use this spelling of Kathryn. Even though I know it wouldn''t be for MY grandmother, I''d love it if the name was kept active because IMHO, it''s different enough, but still beautiful.
Grandma died a few years before I got pregnant with Kate, and I was really sad that I''d never had a child to name after her. When Kate was coming along, it seemed natural to use Grandma''s name. Grandma was Kathryn Irene, but we decided to go with Grace so it wasn''t a complete copy.
I like that Kathryn can be shortened so many ways -- Kate, Katie, Kay, Kitty, Kathy, although I said NO Kathy because that''s my aunt''s name and I''ve known some crazy Kathys.
I''m big on old-fashioned names, popularity be damned. These names are popular for a reason!
So, I have:
Westley Phillip, who goes by Phil and is the only one named for no one
Hannah Louise, who hates her middle name, but it''s for her paternal grandmother so she''s stuck!
Austin Edward, whose middle name is for his dad and paternal grandfather (they both have the same middle)
Kathryn Grace
William Christopher, whose names are his paternal grandfather''s first name and dad''s middle name
and the new one will be Benjamin Dennis, whose middle name is my dad''s first name.

Hey preggos! Just jumping in to say that gap.com is have a sale, including maternity stuff. You can get an extra 20% off if you enter 'GAPEXTRA20' at checkout. I just glanced, but seems like some decent stuff including nursing bras/tanks.
HH- Love your names!!! Jack Henry is so flipping cute, I wish I'd thought of that. Those were both on our list. I am partial to Katherine Fenn myself, but that's b/c my mom's name is Katharine (wth an a) and I've always loved it. What would you call her?
Lindsay- Ah, sweet Andrew. Very fitting. Glad amnio went well, and praying for good results for you.
SomethingShiny- I think you also have to be careful of adults who had the vac awhile ago but it's worn off. Scary stuff. Great names too!
Meresal- LOL that your stomach muscles are 'holding on'!!!I have the funniest image of them going 'No, you're not going to push ME off to the side like some discarded trash!' Cute pic!!!!
RPS-all of your kiddo names. I think Hannah Louise is awesome, she'll appreciate it when she's older. And Westley is interesting, never seen it spelled with the 't'. I love that, West would be a cute nn.
HOUSTON PREGGOS- So I think I dropped the ball on the GTG after everyone chimed in on availability. Sorry! If you're still up for it, let me know. I think that the last weekend in January (next weekend) and the first weekend in Feb worked for everyone previously. Assuming we still get GingerB, do we want to try and shoot for one of those? I was thinking keeping it easy and just meeting for lunch or something, unless you guys want to do more than that.
More BPF pics please!!!

Jcrow- I could maybe do dinner on Sat Jan 30th- we have a birthday party to go to from 5-7 pm, so as long as DH will watch O, then that could work if we could do it at 7:30 or 8. I couldn''t bring O though (which is fine with me). Totally available Sunday too.
ETA: As to where- what general area do you stay in? We''re in West U so anything central works for me. Let''s figure out if we are going to do dinner or lunch first and then we can figure out where.
ETA(again): JCrow, are you bringing hubby to dinner/lunch?
People always think they''re the authority on anything preggo/baby. So annoying! If you feel okay and your policy isn''t good I would def. stick it out so you can spend the time with your baby! It is crazy to see Valentine''s stuff since that''s my due date. Won''t be long!!!Date: 1/22/2010 1:16:44 PM

Burk-Thanks! I am still okay, but I get so sore down there, I have to take breaks here and there. I have an office job so I am not so much on my feet but like to walk around. Everyone makes comments on how and why I am still there. Okay, maybe cuz I wanna spend time with my bebe. I too have a crappy policy at work. LOL...But I feel good. We are side by side my friend, so I am nervous and excited for the both of us. I get pretty freaked that everywhere I go I see Valentine''s Day stuff cuz I know that anytime soon she will be here!
LOL...yeah. This lady at work thought that I was lying when she asked if I had strech marks on my belly and I said No. She said, "Well, you probably can''t see them, but I bet they are there!" I just laughed. Okay...Date: 1/22/2010 1:19:55 PM

according to the doctor, it's not mostly about kids anymore. she said just make sure that adults who come to visit have had their updated tetanus shots INCLUDING the TDAP booster which is specifically for Pertussis.Date: 1/22/2010 9:13:24 AM

Pertussis is Whooping Cough. American's receive a vaccine that is DTP, Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis. Unless you know someone who is NOT vaccinating their kids, you should be fine.
