Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Just a quick update from the iPhone. Went into the hospital about four hours ago to get checked. Water def broke a while ago but only dilated two cm!! Booo. So we decided to go for pitocin to help progress. I can't believe with the contrax I have, only 2cm!! So we will be here a while. I am just trying to rest and save energy. I just got my epidural. Delivery most likely tomorrow. Um and epi is a godsend so far!!

Thanks for the update Mara. Rest as much as you can, so glad the Epi is giving you relief, they really ARE a god send. Sleep lady sleep, and get ready for tomorrow. HUGS, Kisses and love!!! You'll be just fine!!! Send Greg best wishes too, I am sure he's taking great care of you.

We know that QT is up tomorrow, but I wonder if anyone will sneak in beforehand?

Re: water breaking - probably best to go to the hospital if it does. I was chastised that I didn''t do so, and of course was lucky that I went in when I did as I had toxemia at the last minute and the doc said I could have died at home.

Thank you! Everyone was asking if I going into labor anytime soon, since my dd is coming up and I am already 1 cm. My mom asked if I could hold her in til after the baby shower and AFTER she gets some rest cuz she was exhausted. LOL...

She was exhausted, well that takes the cake, Oh MY!!!! I am sure she meant well, some times ya just gotta let it go....

Well, I had a nice relaxing weekend, up until about 3 hours ago. DH and I just argued for an hour which led to me crying hysterically, and who was it because of... MIL. She needs the date of the shower to be changed to the following day, and apprently my "excuse" of not wanting my parents to drive home after a Sunday afternoon shower, which is 4.5 hours away, wasn't good enough for her. So she called DH on his cell and pleaded with him after we got off the phone. When I say "pleaded", I mean she yelled and screamed at him until he was so pissed he wanted the whole thing to be over with.

I've had a headache since waking up, and it had actually gone away. It is definitely here to stay now...

Ohh, and we have decided to switch the day of the shower to Sunday. (Thank you to my Dad who said he would use a vacation day from work if he needed to.) Again, MIL is getting what she wants, and she won't have to ask politely OR say thank you.

I wish our house was done.

ETA: Just got her reply email and there was no thank you. However, she did manage to throw in that DH's grandmother needs to be added to the list since this will be her 3rd Great Grandchild. (There was no list on this email. I only told her that between my family and DH and my frieds, we came up with about 25. I assumed that she would put her own family on her list... no?) Ohh, adn also that she (grandmother) was dissapointed that the original shower was going to be a dinner in the evening and she would have to miss (they don't leave their house after 4 pm apparently), so she will be excited to know that she can attend now. UUUUUUGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Mara I know you won''t see this, but contax also cause effacement which is so much more important in the early phases than dialtion! All that hard labour was probably thinning your cervix out nicely, and now all it has to do is open! Yup, epis sure are nice...

mer, sorry it sounds like yours is such a pain, or maybe it''s just your MIL that''s the pain

I''m just getting to the point of thinking about one - my mom keeps asking me - but it''s a bit of a logistical conundrum. I live in one city and most of my family lives about 5hrs away in another. My mom obviously wants the shower to be held closer to the majority of my family (how I did my bridal shower) but trucking everything back home seems a little tricky . . . I absolutely appreciate the generosity, but hate the hassle at 7+ months.
