He''s beautiful Mara - can''t wait to see more photos after you get him home. Love his first name.

Congrats QT! Looking forward to reading your story too.

I had another interminable doc appointment yesterday. They took me in for an ultrasound first, which I wasn''t expecting. Her head was so low and turned in such a way that they weren''t able to do the usual two measurements on it. Belly and femur were a little behind as usual (belly by about 2 weeks when the first nurse did the measurements, but when she got the nurse who''s more experienced in to try to get the head measurements, she measured it a little bigger). BP was 122/70, which was good cause I''d had some crazy pitting edema all the way up my shins a couple days ago. They had me do my GBS swab, so by next appointment I''ll know if I''m to be on antibiotics in labour or not. The only bad news: I actually lost 0.3kg (0.7lb) in the last 2 weeks, which means no weight gain at all in the last month. Oops - guess I''ve not been eating enough during the packing and moving and back-to-work month of Jan.

So we''re now in the new house, surrounded by boxes. I have to do a presentation tomorrow at work that I''ve barely started, so I''d better get to work. It''s total chaos, and I''m getting annoyed by little things in the new house - squeaky floors etc. We didn''t have those in the apartment because it was all concrete, not wooden floor joists and wood floors. Guess I''ll have to get used to it!

Mara -

Awwwww....... so sweet!!

On the birthing front, ''Way to go, Mara!!!'' And as if giving birth itself is not tiring enough, you provided an excellent account of the entire process- a pro from start to finish

Meresal, that is so great! Isn''t it just amazing?

With our first little guy, I didn''t feel him move until about 18 weeks, and then it was just the occassional bump. But I never really felt him "crawling around" in there.

This pregnancy is TOTALLY different. I felt him moving much earlier, and he is moving all the time, and you call tell that it is different body parts. In fact, last night when I laid down in bed, he kept pushing up against my belly with his foot. You could CLEARLY feel & see that it was a foot, and he was responding by pushing back when we were pushing down on it. It actually freaked my DH out - he was like, "weird" and wouldn''t push on it again.

I had my 29 week dr. appt. this morning, and mentioned it to the dr. He said that it''s possible that my placenta was in the front last time, which is why I could feel some internal movement, but not actually see my stomach move with the kicks & punches like I can this time. It''s way more fun now to see where he''s hanging out, and what he''s doing in there.

mara - thanks for sharing your wonderful birth story! he sure is a cutie!

so, tonight we have our first of several child birth classes + child care classes. unfortunately their website is down, so i''m not sure what i need to bring. i remember a pillow and blanket, but i can''t remember what else. i hope the site gets back up soon. i also can''t wait to tour our hospital. hopefully they don''t make us wait until the last class to do so. i''m looking forward to meeting couples, too. since we moved, we really haven''t met too many people. it would be nice to have a little social network.

and tonight i also start my fasting for my glucose test which i take tomorrow morning. i''m a bit nervous about it. eeks.

I try to get DH to feel at night, that is when he seems to move the most, but DH gets impatient. He wants to move his hand around, and I'm like, "Stop! You have to leave your hand in one place." lol.

After hearing that you didn't feel any of this the first time, I am feeling extremely lucky!

The other night DH started to ask me about what it felt like, and I just told him I try not to think too much about the whole "baby-growing-inside-me concept". It kind of freaks me out actually, but I love seeing and feeling the movements.

Congratulations Mara and QT!!! Welcome to the new baby boys!

Congrats to the new Mamas!

The "T" that was posted before was their surname I believe, which is probably why it was edited.

Can''t wait to hear the name!

Congratulations all of you new moms out there! How exciting!!!!
36.gif
36.gif

I can''t wait for my day, I am only in my 6th week of pregnancy, not many symptoms yet. Just tired and my (.)(.)''s are soooo sore! My first U/S is in 3 weeks, so that will be when I get really excited, right now it''s hard to believe still for some reason! I always said I didn''t want to know if it was a boy or a girl but I don''t think I am going to want to wait! I want to know now!!!
36.gif

I was wondering if there were any books or magazines that were very informative for you ladies? This is our first baby and I want to learn all I can now to be prepared!

Congratulations Jena!! I''m only a little ways ahead of you, seven weeks now. My symptoms are starting to get a lot stronger and more consistent now and I''ve gone from a size 6 to a 10 because of bloat (&@#$^*&#%@&$*%^!!!!!!). The first book DH and I picked up was What to Expect and it''s definitely informative, but I agree with the others, it''s a little bit too serious sometimes. I also have the Pregnancy by week and Girlfriend''s Guide books (Thanks Swimmer!) and I second the rec for the Girlfriend''s Guide. It''s a really light hearted and funny approach to everything we''re going through right now. One book I want to get is the Dad''s Survival Guide for my husband. He''s read all the chapters for Dads in the other books but I don''t think the information really set in.

I don''t think I can wait to find out the sex either! DH wants to do the intelligender test, but I think there are better things to spend $35 on. But I did find out that my doc does the anatomy u/s at 18 weeks, so we should find out the sex then. YAY!

Hope to talk with you more in the coming months!
Hey Hudson,
Beware onthe intelligender test, I did it and now that we had our 20wk US, we have officially confirmed that intelligender wasn''t so intelligent as it was wrong. It was fun, but as you said, a waste of $35. As for the books, I wanted to be super prepared for our first pregnancy and bought like 4 books and my favorite was the your pregnancy week by week as it had lots of pics. This time around I picked up the Day to day pregnancy in adddition to the updated week by week and there are definately lots of updates and pics but I simply dont have the time for daily updates.

Mara, RPS, and QT- Many congratulations on your new little bundles of cuteness!
