Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Pardon me ladies, if the non-mom can intrude again...

Tacori, from a massage therapist POV and Eastern Theory, it may help to stimulate some accupressure points. First point is sort of muscular part of your hand above the thumb web, between the thumb and first finger. Second point is right at the top of the shoulder in the muscle. If you count about four finger spaces from the base of your neck, you''ll have it. Massge them for 30 seconds to two minutes every so often.

These are pressure points always avoided in in pregnant women early in the pregnancy during massge, accupressure or accupuncture since they are believed to stimulate the uterus. However, once a woman is beyond 37 weeks, stimulate those points to bring on labor.

I''m on it! Thanks nytemist!

Full moon will be October 26th or 25th I think depending on your time zone. Hunter''s Moon-This year''s largest Full Moon. It''s the largest because it''s the Full Moon coming closest to Earth for the year. It''ll be less than 222,000 miles away.

"The theory is that the moon''s gravitational pull effects the amniotic fluid in much the same way as it effects the water in the sea, rivers and even the water that''s otherwise found in our bodies. As a woman''s body prepares for natural childbirth, the amniotic sac becomes distended so the point where it will easily burst if put under pressure. Under normal circumstances, the pressure of labor contractions bursts the sac. During a full moon, the pressure caused by the moon''s effect on the water inside the sac can cause the same things to happen, but without the accompanying contractions" Tacori we shall see if this holds true for you

Oh Lili & Vegas I hope the full moon will work for me. When is it? The 26th?
I''ve been a lurker on this thread and I just wanted to say that I''m so excited for you Tacori! It''s gonna be soon now!!!

Cool info, VegasAngel! I used to be very affected by the moon and even without knowing when the full moon was calendar-wise, I could tell by my lack of sleep (back when I used to sleep, that is!)! My dad always thought it was a bunch of hooey, but I totally believe it. After years of living it, I couldn''t deny the affect of the moon on my body! Now I''m going to check when the December full moon is to see if my babies wind up being born anytime near it ...

Nytemist, I''ve heard that there are places on the feet that you shouldn''t stimulate early on because that can bring on contractions/miscarriage -- true?

Tacori, you''ve got your own personal cheerleading squad rooting for you here! How fun is that?

Curly, definitely post some new photos of Lily ASAP!!

Good afternoon everyone.

Blushing Bride
When we decided that we wanted a baby, I immediately made a pre-conception exam.
I don''t know if it was the Doctor that I had or the fact that i was well read on the whole issue,
but, I felt like it was a waste of time. She asked me questions about my health history and told
me what I already knew about conceiving (when to baby dance, stay still for awhile, let gravity
do the work, etc.) The only thing that I did take from that was tons of prenatal pill samples.
After my appointment, I started to take the prenatals. Hope that helps :)

I was driving home from work this afternoon and noticed how ugly the sky has been because
of all these wild fires in So. Cal. I''ve had a headache all day; I wonder if it''s the yucky air. Is
anyone here affected by the fires?

Have a great evening! I''m making fish with cuban mojito sauce, rice, cuban beans, and steamed
asparagus

OMG!!! STOP! STOP! STOP! It''s things like this that make me want another baby so badly I can''t see straight!!! Look at those cheeks! Miss Delaney is eating well, I see! How are you doing, Diver?

Vegas, thanks for the info. The 25/26 would be perfect for me! Too bad I don''t get much of a say in the matter.

Sweetpea, thanks hun. This week is going to go SOOO slow though. I can already tell.

Ella, I love the cheerleading labor dust squad.

I am getting so terrified I need all the support I can get. I look forward to cheering you on in a few months. I had heard not to get foot massages too. Not sure where the exact pressure point is though.

Diver, Delaney is beautiful! Love the new photos.

Oh, Diver, I am glad that some of my friends are becoming grandmothers! My daughter is too young to have children yet and when I see a baby like Delaney it makes me want a baby, too! I will have to hope that my next door neighbor gets her granddaughter over on the weekend to give me a baby fix. Babies are just so wonderful and Delaney is a little peach!

Diver, get that girl into modeling school now! She is just TOO beautiful!! Seriously, you and your hubby make some fine-lookin'' kids

So the nicest thing just happened. It was 9 pm, and I was folding laundry and hubby was buzzing his hair off, and someone knocked on our door -- whcih kind of freaked me out since we weren''t expecting anyone. Turns out it was one of our neighbors who we just met a few weeks ago. He knew I was pregnant with twins but he misheard when we said I was due in "two months" and thought we said "two weeks" so he brought us a homemade chicken potpie so we wouldn''t have to cook! How sweet is that?! He came by with someone else, but I''m not sure who she is (I don''t think she was his wife, and we only got her first name), but I think she''s the one that made the pie. They were all embarrassed that they got the date wrong -- he was like, "I thought you looked too small to be that far along with twins!" -- but we were just so touched that they did that in the first place! I love our new neighborhood! It''s so nice to be reminded that there are nice people out there (especially after the whole unpleasant "Found Cat" experience I recently had - discussed in another thread.)
face23.gif
And the potpie smells like heeeaaaveeennn!

Tacori, when did you say your Mom arrives? Is this her first grandbaby?

OMG, diver, she is absolutely precious.

Diver, Delaney is just adorable!!! Such the cutie pie!!

Ella, my mom is coming on Sat. around noon. She is convinced she is going to miss the birth so she won't be disappointmented if I do go early. It is the first grandchild on BOTH sides. I am excited b/c she is staying until Nov 4th (unless I really need her longer. She already told her boss I am her first priority
16.gif
) then my MIL is coming from Nov 10-18th. Then my mom is coming back Nov 20th for thanksgiving (everyone else the 21st-22nd). So DH and I will have lots of support. I think it is funny how some people want alone time for the first few weeks (NOT that there is anything wrong with that!) DH and I are the opposite and want as much support as we can get. Haha. DH was in a panic last night that I will be induced, have a c-sec, and my mom will only be here for a couple days *after* baby and I was home. He made me call her to see if she could stay longer.

I can't wait to see what the doc says tomorrow. I don't think I have progressed but I guess anything is possible.

ETA: Sounds like you have awesome neighbors! I am so happy for you and Mr Ella!

diver, lOVE those pics of delaney. what a sweet pumpkin she is.

Awee Diver, Delaney is adorable. She's growing like a weed.
Love that "whatcha talking about willis" look

Tacori,

That''s so great that your mom and MIL are able to stay more than a week to help you and your DH..
Gives you more time to bond with the baby and not have to worry about the daily chores :)
Keeping my fingers crossed that the full moon will prompt baby T to come out.

Thanks lili. I am hoping for this weekend as well (if not sooner). My MIL already said she would clean and prepare our house for thanksgiving since she will be here so soon before (we are having 8 OOT guests
32.gif
) So that will be a GREAT help!!!!

You''re welcome, Tacori! I''ll be sure to do a good health/fortune spel for you during full moon!

Ella- yes there are points around the ankle as well. Not as sensitive though, from what I was taught. People are more wary of the other points since they can be stimulated in regular daily contact... but you really have to work them intentionally. I don''t mean to make folks paranoid or anything!

And Delaney is priceless!

Gushing over Delaney!! SOOO Cute!

Fingers are crossing over here for you Tacori!!

quick check in-- (server keeps going down at work so i''ll keep this somewhat short ;-)

Diver--D is a little dolly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tacori--sending labor vibes your way--on the last full moon two girls i know went into labor and apparently there were 10 births at the hopital that night--totally uncommon since i live in a fairly small community. There MUST be something about it. THe way i see it, if gravitational pull can keep our earth in orbit it sure as heck can have some influence on our preggo bodies...here''s hoping for you!
...........................
Feeling good in general--my appetite is a little out of control so i am resisting constant urges for chocolate and bread--urgh

I am ocassionally feeling the *kick* sensations again--still not 100% sure it''s the little bean, but i am becoming more convinced.

Question: do our rib cages expand when we are pregnant? I can''t seem to fit my tailored jackets anymore--and it''s not just a belly issue--they seem to be tight around the back (before i even try to do them up around my belly) and my bras/some shirts are the same way...i am still bony around the ribs so i don''t think it''s a weight thing--
i am just e x p a n d i n g ?!?!
40.gif
39.gif

Thanks nytemist & mela!

Jas, yes our rib cage DOES expand. Isn''t that fun! You can buy bra expanders. I just bought a few new bras since my cup size got larger too. 2nd trimester I ate like a truck driver. I was ALWAYS hungry.

DIVER!!!!! Oh my god, Delaney is just precious!!! She is simply gorgeous!
36.gif

Jas, yes, your ribcage definitely expands. You may even feel some pain in your rib area as things start to spread out and grow--totally normal!

23.gif
Ouch, I hope it (ribcage) doesn''t expand too much?
What''s the average? Perhaps I should hold off on buying some bras until I get my belly growth spurt?
Are you preggos wearing nursing bra right now? Or did you guys just get bigger normal bras?
I can''t seem to find one that fits me well.

Jas12,

How exciting that you are feeling the "kick" already.
You are on week 18, almost 19?
Hehe, hopefully I''ll feel my kick soon too.

Oooh, yes, the ribcage expanding can be unpleasant. That was one of my worst symptoms in the second trimester -- I was constantly uncomfortable (but then again I was expanding to make room for two so I may have had it worse than most of you guys did/will). I did buy a nursing bra then just because my normal underwire bras were pretty painful, but I think a normal softcup bra would''ve been fine too. I just happened to be in a maternity store so I bought one there. The bra extenders do work well too, but if you go up a letter and not just a number size, then the bra will just fit awkwardly. Not sure there''s an average growth, lili -- for me, I went up from a 32b/34a to a 36b/c, and I expect to get bigger in the next few weeks when the supply starts coming in! Being pregnant is basically 40 weeks of constant shopping for new clothes ... but that somehow isn''t nearly as fun as it seems like it should be.

Jas, I think if you''re feeling something that you think is the baby, then it likely is the baby! Whoo hoooo!! You Mama, you!

I had a regular OB appt. this morning, and thankfully all is well w/me and the bebes. Heard the heartbeats, my cervix is closed and long, and my BP and weight were good. Even the dr. remarked what a good pregnancy I''m having, esp. for a twins preg!
36.gif
I always leave my appts. feeling so lucky -- such a nice feeling!

Tacori, we''re those people who don''t want to be overwhelmed with parents the first week! Because we''ve got three sets of grandparents flying in from out of state and there are divorces and other unpleasantries amongst them, we just don''t want to deal with that in our first week of being home with the babies. We want those first few days to adjust to our new life and to let the babies get used to us. We know we''re going to need help -- a lot of help! -- but we want that first week to be us with the babies and that''s it. I think Q''s mom will come and stay with us for a week or two after that, my Mom will also be in town (but not staying with us), my Dad is an hour away, and I think Q''s dad will come visit us in February.

I am so depressed. I cried all the way home from my doctor''s appointment
39.gif
My cervix is still closed (though he said slightly soft whatever that means) and he won''t talk about induction until 41 weeks.
38.gif
I know there is still time for me to go on my own and I also know that he is a doctor and has my health and baby''s health in mind....I am just so ready to be done. So looks like I might have a nov. baby after all. I guess the only perk is I do like citrines better than opals. I am trying to see the positive in this. The only good thing is I didn''t gain any weight this week. DH thinks I am being silly (for being upset). I wish he could understand that this has been the longest month of my life. I know the end is in sight...just barely. I asked the doc what I could do to bring on labor and he said nothing.
15.gif

Just de-lurking for a bit to sympathize with poor Tacori... I haven''t been in your shoes (yet!) but I''ve heard other mommies-to-be talk about how miserable the wait can be at the very end! I know everyone says to be positive and remember that you''re still ending up with the same happy healthy baby.... but I also think you ARE allowed to be frustrated and impatient and exhausted and just ready to meet your new baby!! I get the impression that "time" starts to lose its meaning during pregnancy anyway... some parts feel way too long, some too short... and this is just one of those impossibly long ones that other people (especially husbands!) just can''t fully understand. That''s my feeling about it, anyway!
