Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Congratulations on your litte man pupp

Congratulations pupp! How exciting! I love having a son and I''m sure you will too!

YAY Pupp!!!!! How exciting!

Yea, this pain isn''t what I''d consider doctor/emergency pain and I''ve had no bleeding/abnormal discharge. It was just odd because it was right around my ovary. It almost made me wonder if I had a cyst or something, but I know I don''t. It''s just what I imagine an ovarian cyst to feel like. RLP though, I didn''t even think of that.

Yay for a BOY Pupp!!!! You will love having a son!!!!

MP- I knew that you would get a kick out of that!

Mara- We liked to call those our "money shots". They told us at the 18 week scan that it was a boy, but it wasn't a "great" shot... and eventhough DH believed the tech from the first time they said boy, I just couldn't commit until I saw the "bits and pieces".
In the printouts we have from yesterday we also have a pic of our little man holding his *bits*....I just didn't think you all would care to see that. He's going to be a shy one.
20.gif

HH- I had that. It was my hips moving and my uterus growing. If you grow anything like I have, it will come and go thruout the pregnancy. MP an dI were just talking about how we are having ligaments pains in the crease between our leg and pelvis. It just seems to move around as you get further along.

Pupp- Congratulations!!!!

I just got back from my check-up. You know those things that are supposed to last about 10 minutes and then you get out of there. Well, I arrived at 1:20 for my 1:45 appointment. Much to my surprise, they called me right back. Hooray! Did my usual stuff and then put me in my room at about 1:30. I knew I would have to wait a bit for the other appointments and for my actual appt time to come up, but you can imagine my surprise that the doctor doesn't come in until 2:20!!!!!
29.gif

She says she's sorry, but they had to squeeze some "last minute appointments in" and that she wasn't expecting them to go as long as they did.
(In my head I'm thinking) How lucky am I that they got squeezed right in front of me?! You couldn't just run in here, ask me if I had any questions and then let me go back to work so that I don't have to stay until freaking 6PM now?!?!?

Anyway, everything is fine, and my fluid levels are still almost double what they need to be... so things are looking perfect. Baby is 50th percentile in measurements, and they are *predicting* that if he keeps growing the way he is, then he'll be about 7.5 lbs at birth. Next appointment... April Fools Day.

VG-I never thought to couple the BB with the maternity pants. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try it. I have 2 BB and I've been getting a lot of use out of them, but they definitely do get uncomfortable as the day progresses and I find they don't really hide the open top of your pants well. I guess most of my shirts, while stretchy and long, are pretty form fitting, so it's really obv that something is up with my pants. I keep trying though.

HH, you freak! I told you that the bella was best for just holding up maternity waists when we had that conversation about the importance of belt-loops while shopping at Motherhood! You know I would never go to work with my pants unzipped. Thwack! Are you ignoring me just because I'm fat? Yeah, I can't live without the bellaband, she hold everything in place, I'm currently wearing preggo leggings and jean miniskirt with that secret fit thing and they would be at my ankles still without the band. Don't talk to me about your thighs woman! You are a buttless wonder and you need to accept this. Don't make me ask what is up with your pants!

Yay for boy Pupp!

Awesome photo Mer!

WHERE IS DRK?

Puppmom, congrats on team blue!

YAY pupp...congrats on a boy!!!

Pupp! Congrats on the boy! Little boys are sooo cute!

I am about 12 weeks and I am having such a hard time with pants fitting, none of my pants zip up or button anymore and my belly is pooching out already! I have never had a belly, that is one thing that was always flat! Now, my butt and thighs were always a little curvy! :) I am a petite girl and only about 5''1". I am too small still for maternity clothes but too big for my normal clothes! I am not liking this in between stage! I have the belly bands but they are starting to not work very well! A lot of my tops are kind of form fitting so you can for sure tell something is up with my pants cause you can see the lines from the band and it isn''t very flatering! Any other ideas? I really don''t want to buy bigger size pants since I will just grow out of those shortly.

Hope everyone is doing good, I read this thread daily, but have a hard time commenting all the time due to work!

you sound like you may be similar in size to me. i''m 5'' and all through this pregnancy, i''ve only found one pair of maternity pants to fit. and now i don''t find them that comfy because of where the panel meets the jean material i find it cuts into me. anyhow, pre-pregnancy i never fit into j.crew, but one day decided to give them a shot. sure enough, their cords fit me and still do [i''m 33 weeks now]. i also had success fitting into j.crew''s long tops. also, i found the non-maternity long flowey skirts at old navy [can''t find them online, but they''re in stores] fit really well since they can sit below my big belly. in fact i''ve been living in those long skirts since the weather turned nice. target has a few tissue long sleeve maternity shirts that i wore during the winter from their liz lange maternity line. at the beginning, i also picked up a couple of maternity dresses from target too. oh, and if you can find a gap maternity store near you, i found their tops fit me, too. pants, not so much.

puppmom--congrats on the wee boy !

Jena--try the elastic trick with your pants, and a bella band covering that area to smooth things out. Also, leggings with long tops and flats is a cute look that is really comfortable. I''ve been wearing a lot of that lately.

Lulu--i think stretch marks really vary from person to person. A friend of mine started to get hers at around 25 weeks, and another, the last week of her pregnancy at 41 weeks (damn, that would piss me off!). I''ve also heard that you can get them one pregnancy but not the next. I was spared the first time around, wondering if i''ll be so lucky this time???

SS--i totally second your recommendation to get your joints checked post baby. I had severe pelvic pain before and after birth and my physio said that my sacrum did not descend back into place post-birth. Like you, i am in more pain this time around and really hope that i recover okay. I am taking more precautions now and trying to rest when possible

jcrow-the diaper cake will be used up in no time i bet. It''s amazing how many diapers newborns go thru. I felt like i could never keep em in stock, so that cake is a great gift! Sorry to hear about your heart burn. ick.

mara--i agree, stick to the hospital gowns! I don''t think i changed until i actually had to leave. may as well dirty their stuff!!

Cara--don''t panic about weight gain yet. I gained 12 lbs in the first tri with my son and i was thinking, whoa, at this rate i''ll be way over what the dr''s say you "should" gain, but i guess i just needed it then, b/c things slowed down and i gained a little over what i should have, but not as bad as i thought. The MS, and bloat and boob changes in the first tri are the hardest to deal with i think, once you start to show more you''ll feel better, and once you kick the MS you won''t need to eat as much to quell it.

....

hello to the rest of the gang, i wish i had more time to respond to ppl on this thread.
Nearly 29 weeks and slowing down already. I was home off work this week ( canadian spring break and i am a teacher) and running after my 2 year old nearly killed me. I need to go back to work for a rest!
I''ve been terrible about posting bump pics, but i am getting some pro-maternity shots done mid april so i promise to post a few then. I am not really loving the idea of posing for those, but since my son will be in them too, it''ll detract from me a bit--ha. I hope they turn out okay.

I can''t help it if I have a selective memory these days. If it doesn''t revolve around food or nap time, I don''t remember it.

Congrats, pupp!!! My little boy is the most loving person I''ve ever met. It seems boys love to take care of Mama.

Ditto to vespers bella band over maternity pants. I can''t stand to walk around with my zipper undone so I had to wear maternity, but they wouldn''t/don''t stay up on their own. The bella band is great at holding them up and if my shirt happens to slide up, you don''t see the preggo panel but just a white "shirt." It''s really great when I have lots of housework or other stuff to do. I''m not yanking at my pants all the time. I am going to try to wear them with my capris too (they''re lower cut than my regular jeans). I just can''t see spending that kind of money on pants to wear for just a few weeks.

Maternity undies: Nope. I wear my bikinis just fine. After the c-section, I''ll pilfer as many mesh panties as I can!

Almost 23 weeks. I think I''ve gained a couple more pounds which will bring me around 6-7 total. I was really hoping to not go over 15 lbs due to my "obesity" but I think I''m gonna have to settle for 20.

US appt on Monday--if I don''t get cancelled again. I really want to get started on babe''s room. I have about 6 different ideas for a boy or a girl! I need to narrow it down before I have a seriously deluded nursery!!

Yep, she''s finally here! 7lb 3oz, born Tues just after 4am, about 5.5h after I was induced Mon night with a prostaglandin gel. More details tomorrow (if I get any sleep tonight)!

RE keeping pants up problems, this might work (wish I''d tried it myself): http://www.parentsconnect.com/goods/belly_ups_clothing.jhtml

YAY YAY YAY congrats Dr. K on baby Kara!!! Can''t wait to hear/see more when you get a chance.

Congrats pupp on your boy!!! Are you and the DH excited?

Thanks for all the well-wishes! And reassurance on weight gain Jas, its good to hear. I certainly don''t want add to my weight-loss burdens later on but I feel a fair bit this first tri has been out of my hands. Plus those lovely articles recently on how women don''t "need" to gain any weight in the first tri - well, maybe the baby is tiny and doesn''t weigh much but what the hormones are doing to my body is another story!

Jena if it makes you feel any better, I''m 5''10" and not particularly tiny and having the same issues. I am wearing my loosest old pants unbuttoned and partly unzipped and just tucking the rim of the pants into the halfway zipped part. This makes for less bunching but the "waistline" is nearing the pubic region! So then covering the unseemliness with my loosest longest tops or the Bella band, which I find difficult to wear all day. I think half of my shirts are retired for the duration, some of my shirts will come back into rotation once I''m in proper maternity pants with a respectable waistline but are too short/belly-flaunting for now, and I''m limited to these few loose drapey shirts that I wash very frequenty... I''m even in my husband''s t-shirts for sleeping, mine lack the necessary girth.
39.gif
I sucked it up and ordered a bunch of stuff from gap/old navy and it''ll arrive tomorrow so I''ll see where I''m at then. So... I say start buying. Not a lot but one or two things to give you an option or two.

YAY DRK! I knew it, I just knew she had arrived. She had to make a grand entrance. She''s so cute with those big eyes!

Congrats, pupp, on joining team blue! There have been so many boys lately, they are taking over.

Congrats drk! Welcome baby Kara! She''s beautiful! Can''t wait to hear more!

Congratulations drk! She is adorable!

And thanks girls for the advice! I better get shopping! I'm glad it's not just me, I hear about a lot of people still wearing their normal pants at 6 months! But i guess everyone is different!

Drk, congrats on baby Kara - she is gorgeous!!!

Welcome baby Kara!! DRK, she''s beautiful, congrats!!!

I don''t know if it''s displaced bowel or what, but I definitely have a bump and that combined with the 10 lbs I''ve packed on over the last three months is what''s making my pants not fit. I too have heard about those chickies who don''t get bumps/wear mat clothes until 20 weeks and I think someone needs to chuck a pint of B&J at their heads.

drk, congratulations to you and hubby! Your daughter is beautiful!

I remember following your story, the IVF, everything and it is so amazing to look back and now see where you''re at. I am so, so happy for you.

Now I am next in line and it''s kind of freaking me out ladies!

I''ll start off BPF this week. 38 weeks and counting the minutes, seriously. Sooo uncomfortable, I am jealous of the ladies that stay happy until the end! I am a big grump nowadays. Everything is puffy!

FYI: That sort of "second bump" you can see in the picture, down sort of below the main belly bump, is totally head and shoulder. I can feel them, I just had no idea it was visible from the outside!

Yay DRK!! And welcome baby Kara

Love the pics.

Pupp, congrats on the boy! I guess the trend still seems to be continuing for PS this year...

MP, love the belly shot. Funny about the head and shoulders! Sorry that you''re feeling grumpy, I think I''ll be that way by 38 weeks as well.

Everybody's different. No need to get physical.

MP- I'm getting nervous right there with you. I keep having these "moments of realization" and I almost feel like I want to run far far away. LOL.
I'm still content with being pregnant, I've had it pretty easy, and as much as I am going to love love love my little one... I think that I am going to miss being preggo. We'll see how quickly my tune changes when this lovely acid reflux goes away the minute my stomach drops out of my throat.

Well I would hope they''d catch it before it hit them! I mean, don''t all pregnant women have B&J radar and homing devices built into them?

I prefer Marble Slab! I get Sweet Cream with Strawberries and Butterfinger!

DH and I have been stopping there on the way to the movies and pick up 2 pints to eat while at the theatre.

ETA: If you want to chunk one of those my way, I will happily catch it!
