Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

MP, Meresal & JCrow - I know that the 3 of you guys are due in the next couple of weeks, like me. (If there''s anyone else I mentioned who''s also due real soon, please chime in too!)

I have a question - how are you doing with preparing & nesting? I am having a really hard time getting motivated. I have been getting up around 5 times a night to pee, and also because I can''t breathe & have bad heartburn, so I''m not sleeping much. Pair that with taking care of my 3 and a half year old son, and I just don''t have the energy/motivation to get the nursery scrubbed & organized, all of the old baby clothes sorted, etc. All I want to do during my free time is eat and nap. I bought some newborn diapers & stuff, plus a new Sit N Stand Stroller (so I can roll both kids around) but otherwise I just haven''t done much.

If anything, I have been obsessing on doing stuff for/with my older boy, like having lots of little picnics & "dates" with him since I feel sorry that I won''t have as much time for him after the baby. I also haven''t sorted his photos into albums since he was 10 months old, so I''m rushing to get that done before the new baby comes.

Is this weird? I feel like the laziest 36 week pregnant woman in the world.

BTW, love the belly pics MP & Meresal!

Mere-we don''t have that up here, I''m assuming it''s like ColdStone?

Vesper, I don''t think you''re weird, I think you''re just focused on other things, like your son. I totally understand that you want to spend as much 1 on 1 time with him as possible before the baby arrives. Could a friend or relative help you out in the meantime?

Not weird at all - I always get all pumped on my way home from work, then the minute I walk in the house I am like, "Ugh, I need a nap." And nothing gets done, haha. I have decided that no matter how tired I am I HAVE to get some organizing and setting up done this weekend, but so far I am just like you. No motivation. Maybe we are not truly in the nesting phase yet?

DrK, congrats! What a doll!

Mere, love the belly pic. I definitely see a change from last week. And, is that a new hairdo I see? Looks good!

MP, you don''t look like you feel like crap.
2.gif
Your belly does look lower to me. I think I''ll be with you at the end with the grumpies. I''m already uncomfortable sometimes and I''m only 20 weeks!
HH, I gained 10 lbs my first trimester too. I totally think it was the *bathroom* issues. I''ve leveled off since and have gained 5 lbs in the last 7-8 weeks. I was wearing maternity pants at 10 weeks. I''m still okay in regular shirts as long as they''re long enough.

Vesper, I agree that your lack of nesting probably has a lot to due with toddler chasing!

Cara, my belly came up out of my pubic area around 14 weeks so it felt smaller. I too had a problem with the half zipped pants because my belly was so low. Once the constipation wained, I think that''s when I came up a little bit.

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me to TEAM BLUE! DH and I are over the moon.

Seriously, can we get any more boys around here!

Welcome to the world Kara!!

jas - can''t wait to see how your professional shots turn out. I''m sure they will be quite special with big brother cohen joining in!!

monkey - baby''s head and shoulders are moving into position!! you look great, even if you don''t feel like it!!!

mere - you are still so itty bitty and I love the pre-movie ice cream planning. yum!!

vesper - you''ll get it all pulled together! At nearly 7 months, I''m going to try to motivate to get started now, so that when the tiredness sets in again, there will be less to do. let''s see how this plan works out.

swimmer - hello! how''s it going?

thank goodness it''s friday and I think that it''s supposed to be a spectacular weather weekend here. It''s been perfect all week, but I''ve been cooped up in my office just looking at the glorious weather. time to actually get outside

You always take such artistic and beutifully composed BPF pictures, Lulu. Don''t get me wrong, I love all of the submissions and watching everyone grow, but I especially love how artistic your shots are. Thanks you for sharing each week!

MP- That second bump is so exciting! He must be getting ready to make his entrance soon!

Mere- You are looking beautiful as always. I don''t think I''ll ever forget now that your work bathroom has a grey granite counter! I hoep your house is ready in time for your son to arrive.

Congrats Drk and welcome baby Kara

drk~ Congratulations!! I love that Kara''s already found her thumb. TOO sweet!!

Yay for all the bellies.

MP~ I had the same head and shoulders thing with JT. It''s weird to feel on the inside, but I remember being shocked when I saw it in a pic.

Bella bands: I wear mine over the secret fit motherhood pants too. I can''t keep them up on their own but my regular pants haven''t had a chance in he!! in weeks now.

23 weeks now, but no pic today.

Congrats drk!!! Kara is beautiful.

Pupp - Yay for team blue.

MP - You are getting close. You look so adorable. Love your round belly.
Mer - Your belly is so cute and tiny. Your torso must be very long.
Lulu - Blurry but still super cute. Love all your belly pics.

Welcome baby Kara! and congrats to DrK and MrK.
I''ve been following your story since TTC and I''m beyond happy to see your little girl finally in your arms.
Sounds like you had a pretty speedy labor too.

Rest up mama.

Great belly shots MP, Mere, and Lulu.
Now, where are the rest of the other preggos?

Ladies, thanks so much for your replies on my procrastination. I feel better knowing that it''s not just me. After I wrote my post today, I actually finally finihsed sorting and downloading the past 3 years of DS''s pictures to Shutterfly, and I now have 475 printed pics on the way to me. Now I just need to put them in albums ...

I also had DH bring all the bins of DS''s baby clothes up to the nursery for sorting. I am committed to getting at least the 0-6 mos stuff organized and put away this weekend.

I also need to pack a hospital bag. I don''t want to have to throw it together while I''m in labor & rushing to the hospital ...

I still have 4 weeks to go (hopefully) and MIL is coming up in two weeks to stay with me until the baby is born, so if I don''t get everything done before she comes, having her in the house will be a good motivator for me, because she can help me finish sprucing up the nursery.

Lulu, I love your belly pic!

vesper - Yay for organizing. I am a procrastinator too. I am amazed that you were able to narrow down to only 400 something pictures for 3 years. I think I printed that many pics for the first few months, then DH told me to stop printing them. I probably should just scrapbook some of the important milestones/events/holidays.

Congrats Kate! Welcome to the other side! So cute she is sucking her thumb!

Congratulations, drk. Kara is adorable. It is amazing to see her sucking her thumb! It was great to get an update on those of you who are due soon, too. It sounds as if that will be jcrow, meresal, monkeypants, and vespergirl? It doesn't sound as if swimmer is due yet. Did I miss anyone? I can't believe how time has flown. Since I only check in and out of this thread it seems as if some of you who are now due just announced that you were expecting. For you, being in your pregnant bodies, I am sure that it felt longer!!!

Best wishes to all of you new mommies and expecting mommies and babies!

Hugs,
Deb/AGBF

Mara has seen this picture before because years ago, long before she became pregnant, she read my "Who''s Who" thread and saw it there. She said that it looked like her as a baby, in fact. I doubt anyone else except Tacori has seen it, though. It is a picture of my daughter (now 17) when she was six weeks old. As some of you know, my daughter was adopted in Colombia. She was still tiny, not much over 6 lbs, at 6 weeks, however.

Deb, your daughter was such a gorgeous baby!!!

Qtiekiki, regarding baby photos, I think it actually really helped to have some time go by before I decided which pics to print. I was able to pic only the best pictures from every event - birthdays, holidays, vacations, etc. that best showed the essense of DS at that age. There are also some random pics from days DS was looking especially cute, but mostly I have narrowed it down to the best pics from milestone events. I am really excited to get them in albums once they arrive.

Just because I can''t resist, here''s a pic I found of Andrew when he was 1 and a half. He was blowing raspberries in his highchair, and cracking me up:

araspjjc.jpg

AGBF, gosh, look at all that hair! She was precious, and I bet she''s beautiful now.

vesper, that picture of Andrew is so cute, I love when little ones learn to blow raspberries.

I had my 38 week appointment yesterday and my midwife seems to think I will go at least another week, even though Micah is moving down and trying to engage. Nuts!

Oh, vespergirl! You could fall into Andrew's eyes the way you could fall into a big, blue lake! You must stare at him all day! My mother's eyes were an amazing blue, but she couldn't hold a candle to him! I truly do not think I have ever seen eyes so blue. He is so handsome. You are blessed!

Hugs,
Deb

do any of you remember the name of the baby name website that also lists nicknames for the child? i think it listed names that other kids could tease them with if you chose a particular name. i can''t remember the website for anything!

Thanks so much Deb & MonkeyPie!

Deb, the funny thing about Andrew is that he doesn''t look anything like my husband or I. I have brown hair, brown eyes & olive skin, and my husband is also olive skinned with brown hair and green eyes. DH''s dad is from Poland, and is blonde with blue eyes, so I guess the genes skipped a generation & that''s where Andrew got his coloring.

It''s funny, though, because when I would imagine what Andrew would look like when he was born, I imagined a baby with dark eyes and lots of thick black hair, like your gorgeous daughter. When I was pushing in labor, and the nurse said, I see a lot of blonde hair, we were like, huh? When he came out, DH got a lot of teasing along the lines of what does our mailman look like ... I have to admit that he took a little getting used to, because he looked nothing like what I imagined. Of course after a day or so I thought he was the most gorgeous baby ever, but he really threw me at first
3.gif

Now I''m dying to see what this new baby is going to look like - I''m still pulling for dark hair this time, but you never know - my younger brother is a redhead, so I guess our genes run the gamut, and we really don''t know what to expect ...

vesper, do you think maybe his hair will darken over time? You know how some babies are born blond and then become brunettes after a few years?

I have no chance at all at getting a blue-eyed baby - my dad has blue eyes, but my husbands whole family - and the rest of mine - have black hair and dark brown eyes.

AGBF, I love that picture, thanks for sharing. She was certainly a beautiful baby.

Vesper, what a cute pic. I wonder as well if his hair will darken with time. I was blond and blue eyed as a baby. Still have the blue eyes, but my hair is now a medium brown naturally.

Jcrow, are you thinking of Babynamesworld? There is a category "Considering this name" where people add potential nicknames or how they were teased. If it''s not that one, I''m not sure what you are thinking of.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

oh, hadn''t seen that website! i like it! i like that people vote on whether they liked their name, if it was mispronounced, etc. thanks!

Thank you for the compliments on my daughter's baby pictures, vespergirl, MonkeyPie, and PrettyBlues. It was taken a pretty long time ago, but it doesn't seem all that long ago to me! My daughter's eyes were not only blue when she was born, but remained blue for a very long time. I would have to look at her baby book to see for exactly how long, but it was for more than a year. The photo above does not show her true eye color. It was blue, but a deep blue. Later (when they changed color) they became a blue-gray. Now her eyes are an unusual blue/gray/green that we usually call green or hazel.
