E B - ideally the first name would be all of the above. however, if need be, we could do a middle name that is the saint name. i know, we [or i really] are incredibly picky...

What about Celia? It's five letters, a variant of Cecelia (which has a french version), and was the name of the patron saint of music.

Hmmm. I'll keep looking.

Antoinette and Madeline.

I love Cecelia, I went to school with someone of that name. Her nickname was Ceci.

Fiery- I had a feeling that would be the case.

Pupp- The shower was definitley what we wanted. Thanks!
I'm sorry to hear about all of your lovely advice. Luckily we haven't received a whole lot. That, or I have just tuned everyone out

I got quite a bit yesterday from MIL's friends. One of them has a daughter that just spent the first 2 months of her newborn's life, living with her so she had lots of things to say... and everything was started with, "Just so you know, and remember, I know what I'm talking about becuase I just lived with a newborn... THESE are the best diapers out there". (as she points at the Swaddlers that she bought off of my registry.) I'm like, thanks... that's why I researched for a week and PUT them on MY registry.

She said a couple other things as well, but I don't remember. I guess I am tuning people out

New pregnancy symptom: My anxiety has hit overdrive for the first time in over 2 YEARS!
32.gif
This is NOT good. I just want to crawl under my desk and rock back and forth.

I am 9 weeks today :) when will everyone be registering? After you find out the sex? Before that?

AllieLuv83 - i registered before finding out the gender. i''m glad we started early because time FLIES and before you know it you about to welcome baby into the world

meresal - i hear you on the anxiety. i had it at the beginning of the pregnancy [although i think a big part of that was the meds i was on] and it''s reappeared here and there throughout the pregnancy. thank goodness for hubs. he''s able to talk me off the ledge

Hey, Allie! Time''s flying...in a few weeks you''ll be at the end of your first trimester!
36.gif
I''m 20 weeks and we just found out we''re having a boy. I''m still not that motivated to register. It feels so overwhelming!

Speaking of registering...did anyone do it in stages? I get really anxious when cooped up in a store for too long.

DRK- Congrats!!!!!!

Um...I may have started my registry the weekend we got our BFP....I update it regularly too and will continue to update it once we know the sex of the baby. Other than onsies I''m not registering for many clothes. Everything else, except the bedding is pretty gender neutral.

Jcrow- AWESOME news at the doctor! My anxiety just hit this morning at work for the first time, but though DH is usually the very level headed one... I had to talk him off the ledge last night when he swore he would *NEVER* be able to close the stroller.
20.gif
This could be an interesting few weeks for us. LOL!

Re: Registering... we waited until after finding out the sex. I want to say that we started at about 23 weeks. We have added things along the way, so don''t think that you need to have absolutely everything you want in your first trip out.

Allie, yay for 9 weeks! how are you feeling? I''ll be 11 weeks tomorrow...can''t wait for the 2nd trimester!

jcrow, that''s great new about your sugar levels!

registering - during my last pregnancy, I started registering before finding out the sex. I had a lot of gender neutral stuff on there. Definitely do it in stages. I did most of it online. When you''re at BRU it''s SO overwhelming! Also, check out baby bargains. That book is so helpful when you don''t know where to begin! It has a registry checklist in the back.

yes, ditto to registering online. i did 98% online then went in the store to add things that weren''t online but i knew they had in the store.

Hi Ladies!
35.gif

I wanted to join this thread earlier, but decided to wait until my first ultrasound to make sure everything was fine.
I went in last Thursday for my first ultrasound and everything looked perfect. I didn''t get a chance to see the baby move at all, but DH did get to see little arms waving around. Lucky!
We did get to see and listen to the heartbeat, which was really cool, though!
And we did get to find out a date, because I wasn''t really sure when I ovulated.
I''m 11wks and 1 day and due 10-10-10!
Glad to finally be joining you ladies!

welcome ambulance! what a cool DD! we are very close, I''m due 10/12. how are you feeling?

Finally had my US today. I'll gladly be joining Team Pink! DH and JT have said all along that it was a girl and they are both very pleased to be right. lol. I've called her a "him" since I found out I was pregnant.

Everything looked great anatomically. She is measuring 1lb 5oz which is perfectly on track with my due date. The head, chest, abdomen and femur measurements were also appropriate as was the fluid level. My increased uterus measurement MAY be caused by the length of Baby (although we don't know exactly how long she is), or the way my uterus is oriented, or both. I was SOO relieved that Baby's right on track after having the crazy fundus measurements earlier. They had 3-D ultrasound which I didn't know ahead of time, so I was very excited to get 3D imaging of her face! She was playing with the cord the whole time so we didn't get a full-on face shot, but some nice profiles. She kept her legs tightly closed and the sonogram tech was "leaning female" but I wasn't willing to agree. We had to have a second tech come in (for some heart issues) and she was able to get a shot of a labia. Okay, girl it is! The heart looks perfect but the heartbeat is irregular. I have an appt on Thurs (when my doc gets back in the office) to see how we're going to monitor it. It looks like I'll probably just have regular NSTs at this point.

Now I'm perusing pink stroller/carseats. For some reason, I've been almost in a panic about not having a carseat. I'm fully aware that she won't be here for quite a while yet, but I feel like I NEED the carseat sitting in my house.

Re: OUR baby. This was said to me since I was first pregnant with JT. It never bothered me, but it was weird. He was the first grandchild, great grandchild, nephew, etc. So, everyone really FELT he was OURS. With this pregnancy, I don't hear it as much, but when I talk to JT I say OUR baby.

okay, that's all for now. I've been waiting for my mom to get off work so I can call and tell her.

eta~ Welcome and Congrats, Ambulance!

Shiny, congrats on your baby girl!!!

Drk & Lulu - thanks for your feedback. What I had was similar to what Drk described, but not like a whole "plug", and I haven''t had it since this morning, so I''m not as worried about labor being imminent now ... I see my dr. tomorrow morning for the 36 week checkup & cervix check, so I''ll talk to her about it & see what''s going on.

It did scare me enough though that it got me off the couch this morning and I finally dug through all of Andrew''s old baby clothes, and put all the newborn - 3 mo. clothes away in the nursery, and organized & labeled everything else up through size 2T in separate containers so I got that bit of nesting done. I think that tomorrow I will pack a hospital bag, and then I should be good to go unless the little guy decides to come early ...

Lulu, Jcrow & Drk - I have no idea how you guys are doing it with the moving/renovations. We moved into our house when I was 32 weeks pregnant with Andrew, but I did almost nothing to unpack outside of the baby''s room. It''s so tough to have to deal with that while very pregnant or with an infant!

Jcrow, I''m so glad that your sugar is under control.

HH, I hope you feel better soon!

Meresal, I''m so glad that you had a great shower. It sounds like it was a lot of fun. That is kind of weird about the "my baby" stuff. Occassionally my FIL will drop a comment like that, but he means it in more of an endearing way, so it doesn''t bother me much. If it was coming from a pushy MIL or something I might be a little annoyed though ...

Regarding your anxiety, I wonder if that''s normal - I started having panic attacks a couple of weeks ago, but they have passed now. I had anxiety issues years ago, so it was crazy when it started hitting again. I hope that your anxiety passes as well ...

Puppmom, I had an anterior placenta with the first pregnancy, and it''s in the back with the one, but I preferred the anterior. All the movement in my belly totally freaks me & DH out, and it''s quite uncomfortable (it looks like an Alien is trying to bust out of my stomach). Your US story with your MIL is hilarious - that''s how my mom was when she came to our US.

Allie, we registered after we found out the gender, because we registered for nursery bedding and stuff as well as clothes.

Ambulance, congrats and welcome!

shiny, congrats on a girl! one of each, how perfect! hopefully the irregular heartbeat is nothing.

Shiny and Ambu-CONGRATS!!!

ambulance92 - congrats + welcome!! love your due date :]

somethingshiny - welcome to team pink!!

yay!!

vespergirl - yeh moving while i''ll be 36 weeks pregnant is freaking me out. i''m sure that''s why i''m so anxious. everything that needs to be done keeps playing over and over in my head... but in reality, physically i can''t do much
39.gif
it''s sooo frustrating. i pack a few boxes a day but get exhausted quickly. we found out that we''re closing earlier than expected and now i''m frustrated that we''ll have a whole week with the new house that we won''t be utilizing it because we close on a monday and dh has to work all week. painting needs to be done. can''t do it. ugh. mil + fil are coming over the following friday to paint. and the saturday, we''re hiring movers to move furniture down our 3 flights of stairs. then, the following monday my cousin is coming to help unpack while dh is at work. i feel so helpless and it sucks. today at my appt. the doc said at the next appt. she''s going to start checking my cervix and doing internal exams. all i can think is eeeks! that means i could go into labor in the middle of the move.
32.gif

Congrats Ambulance92! That''s an awesome due date!

SS--yay for team pink!!!

DRK--kara is a beauty!!

Jcrow--i just wanted to say that i share your pain. DH is building us a new house right now (working round the clock and leaving me with a 2 year old & no stamina to deal with anything else) and we suspect we''ll be just about ready to move in when the baby is due. It''s stressful thinking about unpacking etc. *on top* of having a newborn! Oy. But i was freaking out about this to a friend who recently moved with a newborn (plus 2 toddler boys) and she said that she was actually happy that most of the move happened post-baby. As you know it''s just so hard to do much with a huge belly in the way. Pregnancy fatigue is different from newborn fatigue (both suck but at least you can move around more post-baby). So anyway, we''ll get thru it. It''s not ideal timing, but we get nice new digs out of the chaos! Everything will fall in place!

...

i decided that since i am fast approaching 30 weeks (which to me signifies ''count down'' time) i better start thinking about organizing baby gear & do something in preparation. I did buy a couple pink things (just cheapo onesies) in case it''s a girl, and washed some sleep sacks/blankets/cloth diapers. I should dig out the co-sleeper and carseat. It boggles my mind how little i think about this pregnancy compared to last . Maybe it is b/c my life is utterly consumed with choosing wall colors, designing stair cases, kitchen layouts etc. b/c we need to get our house finished, but i am glad i read this thread a bit, to remind me to slow down and enjoy this pregnancy in case it''s the last!

SS congrats on a girl!!!

jas12 DH didn''t even install the car seat until we were ready to leave the hospital. we always had the car seat and base in the car, but he finally put in the base cause we were like, crap, the base is still sitting in the trunk and we were waiting for them to tell us we can leave to go home. so DH figured he should install it as i waited.

take care!!!

I always thought I''d be super active with this thread whenever I finally got pregnant but I haven''t for whatever reason. I feel like a mommy-to-be slacker! Anyway, I thought I''d go ahead and join you guys here since i''m already 19 weeks!

Allie, yay for 9 weeks! how are you feeling? I''ll be 11 weeks tomorrow...can''t wait for the 2nd trimester!

Hey Snlee! Congrats on the 11 weeks. I feel ok. Still very tired, I was in bed passed out at 8 last night. Definitely yawn all day long. I have a 9 hour wedding on Saturday that I am shooting and I hope I can make it. Usually the adrenaline kicks in and I don''t feel how tired I am until I am done. Still going through that "nothing sounds good to eat" stage. I never got the throwing up part of MS but the nausea to certain foods and pretty much all day has kind of lessened. I can always eat Fruit, Fruit bars, and cereal. Grocery shopping has become a reach chore I get there and can''t find anything I want so I end up with a random mix of frozen vegetables, fruit, soup, and mac and cheese.

Yesterday I was craving Shepherds Pie, so I made it and was able to eat some, looking at it again this morning I am shocked it actually went down.

How are you feeling for 11 weeks? What do I have to look forward to?

Welcome, Ambulance and OobieCoo! Oobie, we must be due a week apart! I''m due 08/09/2010. I didn''t post much at first either because I felt like all I did was ask questions. Now that I''m halfway there, I feel like I can contribute at least a little.

Speaking of questions, what do you ladies think of this?

Originally, DH and I planned to call his parents when I go into labor. My parents are out of the question because my mom WILL come in to the delivery room. She did when my brother''s son was born and said she wasn''t leaving. She asked me this weekend who was going to be in the delivery room and when I told just DH she said, "I don''t give a choice, now do I?" - so they''re not getting a call until the baby comes. We always planned to call DHs parents because they respect our boundaries. However, I''ve been thinking recently that I don''t want to call anyone until the baby is born. I feel like this is a moment that I want to have just between DH and me. If I have people who''ve been in the waiting room for 10 hours, I''m going to feel obliged to have them come back right away. I also want DH there with me to enjoy all of those first moments - not hanging out with his parents in the waiting room because he feels bad that they''ve been waiting so long. Do you think this is selfish? What are you all planning to do?

shiny - hurray for little girls!!! it''s only sugar and spice for you

glad to hear that everything is measuring as it should. that must be a huge relief.

congratulations and welcome ambulance

that is a fine (and hard to forget) due date!!

welcome oobie - your nearly halfway done
36.gif

allie and snlee - I was so relieved (both physically and mentally) to reach the second trimester. you two are close!!

jas/jcrow - moving is tough at anytime. being pregnant or with a newborn. even tougher. but, you will be moving into such fantastic new spaces - you should update us on what your houses are going to be like.

jas - second pregnancies. I can definitely see how someone could glide through a second pregnancy. for your first, everything is so foreign and new, but with the second you largely know what to expect. especially what awaits you at the end of this process
9.gif

vesper - hope that your appointment gives some answers and nice work on the washing/sorting/getting ready!
