HI!

I am just floating around in the Barely PG Ps''ers thread. Just wondering for you ladies already in the deep end
2.gif
how often your DH''s came to your OB appts? I know if I asked, my DH would come to any one I asked him to, but I definitely don''t expect him to come to every single uneventful one. Did your DH come to the first one? Or just when there were US''s? Just seeing what you considered ''can''t miss'' appts. Thanks!
DH came to my 1st appt so he could meet my GYN. I then had to switch to an OB in my 2nd tri and he came to that 1st visit as well. He didn''t make it to my NT scan with my Peri (totally regrets it, but we didn''t realize that it was a "biggie", so plan ahead!). But he was there for the Genetic testing and 2nd tri u/s with my Peri, and he''s planning to be there tomorrow for my 3rd tri u/s and 3D/4D session. So yeah, he''s skipping the OB visits but is there for the u/s appts with my Peri.

Question about stretch-mark cream/lotion. Anyone use it? Anyone recommend one? Is it even worth it?
I''ve heard vitamin E oil is good to use on scars. I''m pretty prone to stretch marks and would love to do just about anything I can, as soon as necessary, to at least minimize them. I''d much rather be proactive than reactive in this situation :)
I''ve been using The Body Shop''s Vitamin E body butter (pink tub) for the last 6 weeks or so, once the belly "appeared". I''ll be 29 weeks tomorrow and so far no stretch marks. I''ve still got time though...

Welcome ss! My DH came to every appointment during my last pregnancy and has gone to all so far during this pregnancy. His work schedule is very flexible. I was nice to have company and share the experience with him.

Go MonkeyPie and JCrow!!

Congrats to the Jcrow family. How nice of Mr Jcrow to update us. Can''t wait for the pics and birth story. Rest up Mama.

Go MP Go! Come on Micah.

Ditto! I''ve used the same one through my entire pregnancy, and no stretch marks. I also wanted to mention that I got stretch marks on my breasts and hips during puberty, but I never got a single one on my stomach through either of my pregnancies, so having them elsewhere doesn''t mean that you''ll get them on your stomach.

Split shank - my DH went to the first big prenatal appointment with me (where you ask the doc a ton of questions), and all of the ultrasounds. He works 40 miles away, though, so he never comes to the regular monthly appointments.

MP - Yay, I''m so happy that you''re having your baby! Can''t wait to see pics, and I''m hoping that you are feeling OK & the baby is doing well!

Jcrow, congrats on your baby girl!

Now Meresal & I are the only two left for April, I guess. I''ll be 39 weeks tomorrow, so hopefully things will start moving along for me next week!

So now word from MP this morning. Her husband posted a sassy pic of her in triage around 2 am (EST) so we know they went to the hospital. Hopefully she's holding Micah now or sleeping, or both!

MP's positive attitude has totally inspired me to pose for a silly/sassy pic in my hospital johnnie when I'm in labor...all for your entertainment

My stupid computer is off-line yet again. (It is new and has the latest Windows on it.) I had to run upstairs to use my daughter''s old computer in order to get on-line. I was determined to get a message through to jcrow and MonkeyPie! Congratulations to both of you! I know for certain that you have already delivered safely, jcrow. Congratulations on your new daughter. Your husband was wonderful to come here to keep us informed.

MonkeyPie, since HH kept us informed, I know you and Micah are safe and sound. I just don''t know at exactly what stage the two of you are in. I am hoping that he has been cleaned up and placed back in your arms again and that you are beaming and welcoming guests!

I send my love to both of you lovely ladies and your fabulous new babies!

Hugs,
Deb/AGBF

Vesper, it''s you and me girl!

I told DH no more DTD until my sister has her baby. She is in so much pain and so uncomfortable, but the doctor won''t induce b/c the baby hasn''t dropped into position yet... and he doesn''t want her to have to endure all the labor only to end up with a C/S. I refuse to have my baby before her! lol Hopefully this will help our guy hold off the next 2 weeks. Anything to help, right?

My sister has set her induction for the 19th, in case the little guy doesn''t arrive before then.

I hit 37 weeks yesterday, and have my check up today. I decided to take the rest of the day off, after the appointment, since this is my mom''s last day in town, and there is still so much that I can help her with around the house!! Hopefully I will be posting pics of the nursery tonight!!

jeez after we entered the hospital i wasn''t posing for ANYTHING...other than maybe an advertisement for an epidural...
25.gif

hope MP is doing well and labor is DONE and M has made his appearance! and hope the head didn''t give her any troubles hehe.

re: stretch marks. i have them on boobs and sides of hips from entering puberty, YEP SO FUN. anyway i was sure i''d get them during preg. i used burt''s bees belly butter for the first 5 months. then i was tired of how it smelled i got lazy and just put on my regular lotions (i use 2-3 per day typically anyway, i am a well lotioned kinda girl)...

anyway who knows what or why but i did not get one stretch mark on my belly or stomach. i think i got a few new ones on my boobs but that is to be expected since they went from B''s to DD''s. so yeah just because you got them or have them elsewhere doesn''t mean you are doomed to get them in new areas.

Mara, what''s the difference between your belly and stomach??

Come on, MP! The suspense is KILLING me...and this is all about me, right?

Wow, MP you really are a trooper!!!!!

jcrow here reporting from the hospital... we welcomed a baby girl into our family at 1:46 am wednesday, april 7, 2010. she weighed 6lbs. 8oz.

it's been quite a ride, but we're both doing well. i went in for a routine ob appt. at 1:30 on tuesday. i was 2 centimeters dilated and 60% effaced and they noticed protein in my urine and my blood pressure was slightly elevated. ob sent me over to labor and delivery to run lab work and do a 24 hour urine collection to check for protein. before even doing the collection, the ob called to say that my lab results showed that i had preeclampsia and needed to be induced immediately.

will type more later... thanks for all the well wishes, good thoughts, dust and prayers. they surely helped get me through! now only if we could decide on a name for our little one!

Jcrow, so glad to know you and the LO made it through alright and are recovering! Can''t wait to hear all about her!!

MP, you're a trooper! Micha, please come out sooooon!

jcrow, wow, so glad everything turned out okay! Can't wait to hear what you name her and all of the details! 6 lbs 8 oz is a very good size for a baby delivered at 36 weeks. I remember when we were talking about big babies. Maybe you would have had a big baby if you had gone full term. D was born at 36 weeks and weighed 6 lbs 7 oz. Not sure if I would have been able to push him out if he were over 8 pounds! At the hospital the pedi said baby didn't look like a premie, am I sure I got my dates right? Funny how we are both 5 feet, delivered around the same time, and our babies are very similar sizes. I'm glad things are going well!

Jcrow, take care of yourself. Gosh, you must be in shock that your baby girl is here! I can''t wait to hear the rest of the story.

jcrow - hope the hyprtension resolves soon - glad they caught the pre-E in time!

MP - good luck!

Ditto Mara and vesper - I had lots of stretch marks on boobs, back, hips, thighs. Didn''t get any on my belly. Just moisturized with a cocoa butter cream once or twice a day (It felt good). Supposedly steady weight gain and belly growth help you avoid them. No clue if that''s really true though!

I got loads of stretch marks at puberty... but not one with being pregnant, and I ended up the size of a house by the end.

Vaseline Gel was what I used, don''t know if it helped, but it smelt nice and helped with the itching.

Well ladies, 36 hours of labor and.....

She''s being sent home again.

I like these stories! (of women that had stretch marks in puberty but escaped extra marking in pregnancy)

MP, virtual hugs. Oh my sucks to go back and forth.

Jcrow oh congrats! What a scary start but rest up and I hope it is smoother sailing from here... And good luck with the naming

oh no! I''m sorry to hear. Do you know any other details? I wonder why they haven''t started pitocin since it''s been so long. I know it''s an evil drug but after 36 hours? I guess her water hasn''t broken.

Jcrow, congrats on your baby girl. I''m so glad that they found the pre-e early, and everyone is healthy now. Can''t wait to hear the name you decide on!

MP, I can''t believe what you''re going through. Hopefully you can get a little rest, and then Micah will come out soon!
