Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Congrats Mere!!! He''s gorgeous and I aspire to have a birth experience like yours!!! Wow, one push!

I''m in AZ for a few days for a conference, staying at a lovely place. The heat surprised me, I apparently don''t tolerate heat as well pregnant as I did not pregnant. I stepped off the plan sporting some serious cankles which only got worse as the day progressed. Feeling better now though.

Ok, off to pay attention to presentations on buying and selling e-content.I''ll be back as soon as I get bored (so expect me in about 10 minutes)...

HH, I''m so jealous - ok, except for the cankles part. Oh, and the work part! Good to know that the heat''s hard. DH and I are running out of babymoon time and thought a warm destination would be good but perhaps we should reconsider! Thursday can''t come soon enough - thank goodness you have something to distract you!

Lindsey, glad to see you popped in. I hope all is well!

Snlee, that is one cute bump! I never had one like that. First, I got wide (blech!) then I began to stick out.

Cara, congrats on your first purchase! The stroller is the one thing we keep second guessing - mostly because we both drive Corollas and those dang things take up the whole trunk! I''m not sure how we''ll fit DD, DS, an 85 pound dog AND baby stuff in the car.
23.gif
Obviously, we don''t take the dog everywhere but we drive with him often enough that it''s an issue.

Mer--congrats on the speedy/easy arrival of your little guy

You''ve made us all jealous

it was a good one for me!! I didn''t register until somewhere around the 24 week mark. I was definitely researching earlier
2.gif
I opted for buybuybaby and babies r us and so far so good.

allie - I''m at 31wks and still sporting my rings. but like cara said, I think that there''s no set time when these things happen. I would consider getting a temp.

lindsey - thinking of you!!

snlee - you look great!!

lucy - great photo!!

cara - congratulations on the bob!

swimmer - hi

can''t believe you''re so close!!!

I just had my family shower this past weekend and it was great fun. despite not loving being the center of attention at showers, I managed just fine and it was very nice to be surrounded by all of the love and excitement. plus the cake. the cake was delicious! we''ve pretty much received all of the *big* items, so the baby has a place to sleep, car seat, etc. plus, people *love* to buy baby clothing, so our little lady is going to have to do a number of outfit changes a day given all that we received . . .

re: strollers, J is 11 weeks today and i just bought his stroller 2 weeks ago hehee. i just could not make up my mind and he didn't even need one at first. so you gals have plenty of time to obsess like i did!!

re: rings... i was amazed mine fit the entire pregnancy but i just wore my w-ring for the last month or so, it was just easier and the two bands would make the fit kind of sausagey looking. i did take my toe rings off early on and umm have not attempted to get them back on after i tried at week 3 pp and they wouldn't go. i'm hoping eventually they will. WAH! def err on the side of caution so you dont have to get them cut off.

re: baby clothes, OMG. we have a ridiculous amt of clothes and i mean ridiculous and i LOVE clothes. there is no way the kid will wear all this and i already have a huge bag of stuff he didn't even make it into and he's too big for. thankfully i have lots of friends having or planning to have babies so i never have to baby shop for showers again hehee. we are STILL getting gifts of clothes from people randomly showing up in the mail and stuff. BUTTTT hardly anyone bought us the super practical stuff like onesies or mitten tshirts. it's all 'cute' stuff. and thankfully a lot of it is 6-18 months now.

snlee, you look great, i love how the 2nd time around you can see the 'belly' whereas in the first pic you just look like you had a big meal hehe. and umm your 14 week current pic is how my belly looks now.
40.gif

My rings still fit, but I can''t wear all three on my left hand. I can manage two for the most part, 1 wband and my ering, but I''ve lately been wearing my ering on my right hand and both wbands on my left. I don''t want DH to think getting two of them was a waste!

I had to stop by to see if Meresal had had her baby...Congratulations, C is gorgeous! I hope you were able to get the nursery done in that beautiful new home!

Mer, I just wanted to stop in and say congrats on your handsome little man!

Thanks ladies! I am in my recovery room and finally have my computer hooked up.

''Labor and Pushing'' lasted from about 6pm-2:11am... and it only took 1 PUSH to get him out!!!! (Every single one of the nurses almost hit the floor when they found out C is my first!) I will share my birth story later tomorrow!

Born April 18, 2010 @ 2:11am! 6lb 5oz

We are so in love!

awwwww.....

Congratulations Meresal!

Meresal~ Hope you're recovering well!

MP~ Sorry to hear that you've had some bad days, I hope you're feeling better and able to enjoy Micah.

vesper~ *******I'm throwing more labor dust at you******* I really hope you can go naturally instead of being induced.

I had another appt today with my reg OB. Everything is the same. Her heart hasn't changed at all but she's still growing and moving well. I also had to drink the world's worst Orange Crush (gag) fingers crossed for a good result!

Hope you're all feeling well today!

eta~ We have JT's room nearly finished. We hung up all the new drywall and baseboards. Everything is painted and he's basically moved back in. We are replacing his windows so we still need to get those in and then the window trim up. We'll start on Baby's room within the next few weeks.

OH, gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks!!
23.gif
I gave up all my caffeine due to the baby's heart and instead of grabbing a soda for a snack (diet), I started grabbing junk food.
38.gif
I'm now 27+ weeks and about 3 lbs under pre-preggo weight. So, hopefully this ridiculous gain won't affect the overall gain too much.

Congratulations Meresal and MP! Mere -- C. is such a cutie!

Congratulations on your baby boys, MP and Meresal!

YAHOO for momma Meresal and family. He''s precious!

Hi everyone,

So, I''m 40 weeks now, and I had to go in for a non-stress test for the baby today. He passed with flying colors - since he is just snuggled up all cozy in there, and they estimate that he''s only around 7 lb. right now, the OB said that there''s no need to induce early, so they scheduled an induction for me at 41 and a half weeks (Wed. 4/28). If I don''t have the baby naturally before then, I will go back for another non-stress test next week.

The bad news is that I have made no progress last week since losing my mucus plug - still only 1.5 cm dilated, 75% effaced. I asked them to strip the membranes again today to try to help induce labor, but so far, nothing. Thanks Shiny & everyone else for the labor dust - hopefully that (along with my daily 1 hour walks) will get this baby out!

Allie, Re: rings - mine fit until 38 weeks, but with the heat & end of pregnancy bloating, they no longer fit - I just bought a plain silver $10 wedding band to wear until the baby comes.

Snlee - what a cute little bump!

Shiny, I hope everything went well with your glucose test - let us know!

Congrats Meresal!!!

BB - I didn''t register for Calvin until I was well past 20 some weeks. I was so overwhelmed by the mere thought! FWIW, I spent an evening on the phone with my best friend - who had a two year old at the time - and we went through and registered for a lot of stuffs online. It was helpful to have a mom perspective on what I really needed. Just me .02...and I''m so excited for ya!

Hi ladies
35.gif
lili and drk thanks for checking in on me, you ladies are too sweet. I am 31 weeks now and things are still going very well with Andrew! I am now a professional doctor''s appointment attendee as I spend around 20 hours a week at the hospital now
1.gif
I am having 2x weekly MCA dopplers to detect anemia, 2x weekly biophysical profiles, 3x weekly non-stress tests, and of course my overnight IViG trips on Fridays. But Andrew is doing very well, at my 29 week growth scan he was measuring right at 4 lbs and we''ll do another growth scan on Thursday. It looks like I''m on track for another 8 lb. 37 weeker like his sister, even though my c-section is scheduled for 36 weeks. I''m having a cordocentesis performed next week to double check the MCA doppler ultrasounds to make sure he isn''t having any problems. Testing his blood will give me so much peace of mind since the results are definitive. I''ll be getting two rounds of steroid shots next week, has anyone here had those?

Anyway, I''m just taking this pregnancy day by day. Last week was Natalie''s birthday which was difficult. My husband and I decided that we needed to get out of town, just to escape everyone and everything -- we drove for hours to a secluded beach and just spent the day with each other. It was the perfect way for us to think of our sweet baby. I am getting braver about this pregnancy every day, I''ve been trying to convince myself to remove the tags from his clothing, but it''s just scary. Sometimes I think that it would be foolish to do so, because it''s not as though he''ll get to wear any of them. I''ve been making some purchases recently and bought a new bassinet tonight, so I am really trying hard! It''s just difficult packing away all of the things for our sweet daughter, pulling out new items for our son, and actually thinking that maybe he will get to use them. We are so hopeful.

Lindsey, your update brought tears to my eyes. I am just so happy for you! Just 5 more weeks and you''ll get to meet your son! I think that was a wonderful way to spend the day and think about sweet Natalie. When I had PTL, I received the steroid shots at 28 weeks. It''s to help develop the baby''s lungs in case of an early delivery. I am so glad things are going well. I can''t imagine spending 20 hours a week at the hospital. You are such a trooper!

It brought tears to my eyes too Lindsey. I''ve thought so much about your beautiful Natalie and have so much hope for her baby brother Andrew. I''ll be thinking of your family in the next weeks
5.gif

That''s such great news, Lindsey. I can''t wait to see photos of your baby boy. Just 5 weeks! How exciting. You, your husband, Natalie, and Andrew are in our thoughts.

lulu, glad you had a fun baby shower!

ss, hope you passed your GD test!

vespergirl, sorry to hear you haven''t made any progress. What a bummer. I am sending you tons of labor dust! Hopefully striping the membranes again will start something!

rings - last pregnancy my rings fit until about 7 months.

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments. It''s interesting to compare my belly shots. I love how it''s more rounded earlier this time around. I had my 14 week appointment today. Nothing much new to report. I was surprised to find out that I''ve only gained 1 pound so far! Last pregnancy I was up 3 pounds at this point. I''m starting out 6 pounds lighter this time around. I have a feeling that in the end I''ll gain about the same. We also set up an appointment to meet with the peri this Friday. I''ll be 15w3d and I''m hoping that we may be able to find out the sex of the baby! I''m so excited! But I know it depends if the baby is in the right position so I''m not holding my breath.

Lindsey-You are in my thoughts often and I am so glad you posted an update. The Drs appts sound quite busy, but you seem to be juggling them really well. It sounds like you had a really special time remembering Natalie's birthday, your post brought tears to my eyes too. I hope that the next few weeks are full of peace and hope and excitement and that Andrew is in your arms soon.

vesper ..sending you labor vibes!

lindsey... what a great update, so happy to hear things are still going well. your day at the beach sounds so peaceful. five more weeks, wow!! i actually still have tags on 90% of the clothes, he lived in tshirts and diapers for the first few weeks. hang in there you are almost through.

Lindsey - Great update! Does that mean the IVIG is working so well you''ve avoided transfusions? You''re getting so close! How nice that you and DH were able to celebrate Natalie in a special way, though obviously I wish you didn''t have to. What did you decide to do about IV access?

Lindsey...thank you so much for the update :) I was just thinking about you. You are a real trooper and not too much longer until you are holding little Andrew. I am glad that you and your husband got to get away for a day to celebrate Natalie. I will be thinking about you in the days to come!!

oh lindsey, I can''t imagine how rough last week was for you, but it sounds like you did exactly what you needed by getting out of town with your husband. I''m thinking of you and andrew often and sending all positive thoughts your way!
35.gif

vesper, you are a trooper!! glad that your little man is doing great and hope for a safe and smooth delivery when the time comes!

Lindsey~ Thanks for dropping in with an update. I think of you often. So glad to see that things are going well although I don''t know how you manage all those appts! Lots of prayers for the last few weeks to go smoothly and a perfect LO!!

I am so fat

and sad...sorry just throwing myself a little pity party.

Congrats Meresal!!! Baby C is so adorably cute!!!!

Oh Lindsey - your post was definitely a tear jerker! I''m thrilled to hear you and baby Andrew are doing so well! A year can change so much - it can bring new hope and happiness to your family again, although I know that Natalie will never be far from your mind. I''m sure you think about her constantly, but how sweet is it to know that she''ll be a little angel watching over her brother.
5.gif
I wish you all the best for the remainder of your pregnancy - you and Andrew will do just fine!
2.gif

Lovely - sounds like you had a nice weekend at the shower. It must be nice to have all those big items checked off your list!

*******************************************************************************************************************************

As for me, yesterday was a tough day. When I had told a bunch of my girlfriends from the city that I was pregnant, I found out that two of them were also pregnant and in fact, they were both due on the same day just a month behind me. Well, yesterday one of my friend''s went for a 9 week dating scan only to find that her baby no longer had a heartbeat.
38.gif
39.gif
She''s devasted of course and I tried to console her having been through it myself, but I know she has a long road ahead of her in order to heal. She has to schedule a D&C as she has not started to naturally miscarry. Anyway, the whole thing is just horrible and I can''t stop thinking about her. I''m dropping off some cupcakes to her building tonight which will hopefully provide her a tiny bit of comfort (someone did that for me when I was going through it and it at least brought smile to my face).

LL - I''m going to actually go to the one store I want to register at, Giggle, with my friend who has a 1-year old. She offered to meet me and my other preggo friend at the store and go over the necessities (she also registered there too so, she''ll know her way around). It''ll definitely be helpful! I hope to do that next month so, I''ll be further along.
5.gif

Congratulations Meresal and baby C!

Go Vesper!

Oh MP, I hope you feel better soon, what a long hard ride. You are one tough cookie!

Lindsey, pulling for you sweetheart, wow, that is a lot of dr. time. It is going to be soooo worth it when Andrew is here! Just over a month more, do you have a date scheduled, wow, getting close! Awesome that you got away.

Drk! So good to see you!

Snlee, adorable shots, well done.

Lulu, thanks thinking of you! jealous of you shopping for little girl clothes, they are too adorable! I''m all set with a boy, but sometimes the dresses call to me... Nice that the shower was enjoyable.

SomethingS, yay for growth!

Allie, it does get better.

Hey, so Logan Sapphire just had a baby! woo hooo!

I just had an appt, head down and she figures 3-4 more weeks. Internals won''t start till 39 weeks, funny how IF necessitated so much intervention to begin with and now at the end its totally hands off.

The only thing bothering me are people who keep telling me that pregnant women shouldn''t exercise; the kicker is, it is mostly women, coming up to me while I''m doing weights (I went down in lbs and modified) or on the elliptical, (only doing 45 min now) or out on walks (6 miles yesterday to see friends finish the marathon!) Who do they think they are telling me that I am hurting my baby?!? All the research says that pregnant women should get her heartrate up at least 30 min a day to help the baby develop good cardiovascular health!

I find this with maternity clothes that look terribly childish, this infantilization of pregnant women is just so offensive to me. Not every woman can or should exercise, but I was just stopped when going into a yoga class by an older woman who implored me not to raise my arms over my head. The class was PRENATAL YOGA! designed to help w/ labor/delivery/beyond. I bet that when she delivered it was chemically induced twilight sleep, and that I should just smile and nod, but I want to maintain a shred of control over my body and I need my exercise, plus it helps the baby''s heart so why would a stranger go out of her way to harass a pregnant woman? I feel like something out of A Handmaiden''s Tale. Is this widespread or am I just being overly sensitive?
