Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Laila~ That particular Chinese calendar was wrong. Although the one I came across in early pregnancy was right. In fact the whole year for a 30 yr old was basically reversed from what this one shows.

Interesting LS - I never even thought of registering at Amazon - thanks for the idea!

Curly - Thanks!

I''m glad you chimed in (my fellow New Yorker!). I meant to say in my post above that I haven''t registered anywhere yet (I accidently wrote that I definitely registered at Giggle), but that Giggle is my top choice. I was also leaning towards BBB because Giggle doesn''t sell everything that''ll need. I''ll probably start sooner than most of you gals since I could be going earilier than October and I want to be prepared (I''m such a planner!

). I''m thinking it will be around 20 weeks once I find out the genders, but I''m sure it wouldn''t hurt to throw a few basics on there before then if I wanted to. We shall see...

Hey Ladies,
All the bellies this week are BEAUTIFUL! I didn''t get the camera out this week cuz I felt big and bloated all week and didn''t want a digital reminder...haha. Next week maybe I''ll feel better about the belly size. I finally decided to get off my butt and exercise a little bit again since I have been lazy ever since losing my job and not doing much physical activity. The LO doesn''t much agree with the small amt. of cardio but I figure he''ll get used to it soon... or atleast I hope...

Chinese gender calendar?

For everyone who already knows the gender of their little one, can you take a look at this link for the chinese gender calendar and tell me if it was accurate in predicting the gender of your baby? The way it works is you go by the age you were when you conceived, plus the month you conceived in. I am curious if this thing is really accurate or not. It''s supposedly 90% accurate but who knows. it was wrong for me. it said boy and we had a baby girl.

re: registering, i did PB Kids and Target because they had retail stores and i knew people wanted to visit B&M's. i wasn't into BRU because i got too overwhelmed there. anytime i went there to look for something i got totally confused and lost. now i am VERY familiar with our local BRU since having the baby. but if you are just going there to get a gift, wow, i could never find half of what was on a friend's registry.

that said BRU does have the best selection locally, unless you want something specific (aka a brand of something) then Amazon typically helped me out, or diapers.com.

i had three showers so we got everything we needed, except a few basics, and we got a ton of gift cards, esp from our respective work offices, so we bought anything else we needed with that. really all we have had to buy for this kid so far is the stroller.

jcrow, i saw your post about kimonos...just wanted to say we absolutely LOVE them as well. carters is the only company i have found that makes them in larger sizes than 0-3, i just got J a pack of long sleeve 3-6 month ones and also under the nile is a good organic company that makes them but they are more expensive, like $12 for a tshirt. a diaper, a kimono tshirt and an A&A blanket has been and still is our kid's daily outfit...unless he is 'going out' somewhere then i dress him up, which usually is just a sleeper or a onesie. hehee.

re: chinese prediction, it was right for us but then a friend showed me another one and it was wrong on that one. weird!

LOL the CGP said I''d be having a girl. Intelligender says boy. We''ll know on Thursday either way!

Love the belly pics everyone!

Blushing, I love your 12 week US pics! So cute!

Jena, congrats on team blue!

Re: Chinese Gender Chart, it was right for our first (said we were having a boy & we did) but wrong for our second (said we would have a girl but it''s going to be another boy). So, for us it was 50/50 - as accurate as just guessing.

So, I''m still here, and still not in labor. I had some Thai Panang Curry last night, but the spicy food did nothing. DH & I are having a date night tonight, and we will definitely DTD. Everyone here is getting really impatient, and I actually feel kind of depressed today. I really thought that I was going to the hospital this weekend - I know it''s only Sat. morning, but now I have a feeling he''s going to be late and I''m going to need to be induced :P

Anyway, I will let you guys know if there is an progress ... I hate the waiting!

I am having pains, like very very stong cramps in my low-low-low abdomen (like if they get much stronger I am going to be sick)... please tell me this it labor and it means I am close... when they are happening I just want to curl up on a cold floor.

Timing them:
8.5 minutes, lasted 1 minute
4 minutes, lasted 1 minute
6.5 minutes, lasted 1 minute
6 minutes, lasted 1 minute
9 minutes, lasted 1 minute

I have been having these *cramps/pains* since about 3, and started timing them about 40 minutes ago. I understand that they are all over the place, but are these *real* contractions?

meresal, sounds like it may be the start of labor. How exciting! Sending you lots of labor dust! Good luck! Keep us posted!

Mere

I''m not going to say that they are or aren''t cause I know its frustrating to get false hope.

If you search online there are a couple of contraction timers. The girls on another site used contractionmaster.

Granted that my contractions were from pitocin but it felt like really bad cramps and a tightening that went from my back and wrapped around to the front.

GL!

Sounds like a good start. They could be all over the place for a bit. Good luck Mere, wishing you a very smooth labor and delivery....

I used contraction master as well - it makes timing a lot easier!

Sounds like things are going the right direction to me. Good luck and hope everything goes well!

Mere~ You''re getting close!! If I were you, I''d get walking and bouncing. Too often you hear of a woman lying down for the night and the "contractions" stopping. Ditto to the "wrap around" feeling. But, I was induced.

ALSO, I would take some Gas X. If you''re just having gas pains, you''ll soon know it. If not and it''s real contractions, the Gas X relieves all the pressure in the area from your digestive system and seems to make contractions less painful.

Good luck!!

Crossing my fingers that Mere''s silence is for a good reason!!!!

Vesper-hope date night does the trick ;)

I am having a BABY!!

My water didn't break, no blood, never lost my plug, and contractions were spanning anywhere from 2 minutes to 10 minutes.... however, i just couldn't handle the pain anymore and we headed to the hospital.

Arrived at Triage and they measured me at 4cm... was taken directly to my delivery room, and checked again, measured 5 cm! Just got my epidural and they believe I am probably at 6 now!

My contractions still aren't on any type of schedule. I have actually been consistantly having 2 back to back, and then one smaller one, and then 2 back-to-back, and so on... i would still be at home if I was waiting for any of the *regular* things!
