WOW Brandy that looks STUNNING! Can''t wait for a full thread on it!

You guys know all about the bust of a ring I just had done, well I''m sending the setting back to the seller (yay!) I did however purchase a replacement from American Set. Should be here by end of this week, I''ll have my stone set in it and will have quite a photo shoot!

Thanks guys - Julia continues to outdo herself with every design!

When I went to her site I didn't see the Katie setting. Where is it?

Brandy I really can't wait for you're thread. It looks like an open bezel setting, please tell us how much darker (if any!!) it makes the stone.

ETA: OK I found it under sold stuff on her etsy page. Very very cool. But I'd still like to know how much light the bezel keeps from the stone. Thanks

2.55ct natural blue zircon in a "fat marquise" shape, previously owned by Freke, and cut by Gene. It will be set E/W in an Argentium silver bezel as shown, with the fan-shaped elements rising up and curving with the pavilion as well as twisting around the shank. I originally convo''d Julia about doing a setting like katiedid''s aqua and brandy''s spinel, but I also wanted to give Julia some artistic license, and that''s what she came up with. I think it''s gonna be fab!

Ohhh, that is pretty. I can''t wait to see the finished product. :-)

I bought an antique setting today. I figure I''ll put my milky lavender spinel in it. We''ll see. The prongs are super mangled, but I''m confident my jeweler can do something with it.

Everyone have so many interesting projects in the works, can''t wait to see the finish products.

Hehe Freke, I was considering that setting a few months ago but never found a stone to go in it. Glad you got it! Can''t wait to see how it turns out!

I made an appointment today to see my jeweler on Friday about setting these spess briolettes into earrings. This is my favorite shade of spess, and I love the glowing fire from within look of these stones. They are a bit dinged up, but on the other hand, the price is right. So, we''ll see what she says.

Thanks, stone hunter. reddish orange works for me.

Sally received my tsavorite, yay! Still don't know what setting to go with...

Sigh, still waffling on the tourmaline setting too! Ack.

I got it today, and mixed feelings. I examined it pretty thoroughly and discovered a lot of problems. I took it into my jeweler, and my suspicions were confirmed. 14 tiny diamonds, and one mangled head. The head appears that it was possibly cut in half, and put back together. Not to mention the shoddy sizing job.

Having said that, I still love it. My jeweler is going to pop in a new head, and spiff it up a bit. Here is the stone he''ll be putting in! (Milky lavender/lilac spinel oval.)

In the light.

In the dark. Kinda.

Freke that looks like it will be a lovely ring. Hopefully it won''t cost a lot to fix the prongs.
