thanks again for sharing your jeweler, BEG!! WCD is setting a malaya garnet for me [i mailed it to them] and i get it on tuesday when i''m in town for my interview!! garry is really nice.

Hey Stone Hunter! I should have it back from the setter on Monday! I think for now I''m just going to put it into a simple solitaire so I can wear and enjoy it but eventually, I might do something else - maybe a split shank? Here''s a quick pic of it that I took back home:

Trishy, I don''t think I have a full thread about it

Unfortunately I do have a lot of stones that have never been photographed (its a hard hard job!!)

That one is yet another sphene that I own. (Some day I need to do a group shot...lol) Its a hair over 5cts. I had purchased with the intention of matching it to my other which is 4.69cts for earrings.

Its unfortunately not its best picture but one of the few I could manage because they''re very hard to take pictures of. My new spinel managed to make it in this shot. I''ll have to post pictures of the finished product.

BTW, I have been holding out a tad. I did go ahead and have the spinel set. At least for now. My husband is funny but he said I could always reset it (which he''s right) so I went ahead and did it. besides, that ring setting sat around unused for a long time.


It so sad the sun goes down so early! I took this about 3:30pm

Yesterday I finally got the fire shot! it made my white meter go completely nuts. The stone gets pretty red in sunlight and WAY redder than what you''re seeing here.

Next up, chalcedony These will be earrings. They are not that bright blue that fly girl has (which are just amazing) but they''re decent. I''ll likely set these in silver.

Here''s the most long term project I have, some of you may remember it. I''m planning a spinel and sapphire necklace to go with my pink spinel bracelet from Sally. I just got a parcel of 3x4mm pink spinels, and I''m pleasantly surprised with their quality. Here''s a picture with them face down, sorry. It''s such a chore to line them up because for the most part they''re tiny.

I thought I was too! Sometimes even that rule gets a little bent. Besides, some of that stuff I purchased before the declaration..

But nothing will get set until sometime next year (or longer!) Have to admit it the last stone satisfied the green craving I was having.

Lol. Well as I mentioned earlier, one is expected to be on it''s way by December 18th. Another finished piece would be starting it''s journey, along with a loose stone tomorrow. The other loose stone should be on its way already--or at least leaving today....And the last finished piece is an antique and should be on it''s way and in my mitts by Friday.

And I''m waiting for shoes, but that''s not for this forum!

Hmm well I know what the first and last are, and I know what one of the loose stone are - but not the others! Are you holding out on me?!

I just picked up three finished rings today and I dropped off my studs to be reset. I''m expecting my loose pearls on Wed. - yay! And I have a couple last stones coming...

That''s a VERY VERY nice stone and setting. Could you tell me where you got that setting?? It looks lovely and it''s so nice that you are enjoying your stone by wearing it rather than letting it sit in a box. Congrats!!
