I’m still waiting and dying to get it! I’ll absolutely share pictures!

I'm also still waiting, it's been almost a month. Was just wondering since you ordered before me. Can't wait to see your pictures!!

Wow, that's beautiful! Love the colors =)2

Also going a different direction for the setting - sticking with floral motif, but going with a very different look.

I have really been drawn to tri wire shanks, so I can have visual interest without pave.

Debating between prongs or bezel…here are a mix of my drawings and inspo images

LOVE where you're going, and I really want some hand shots in different lighting with your new unicorn band!

Will be happy to oblige!

And appreciate it. I feel as though I’ve been the most indecisive PSer of all time LOL

:DNah, it's fun!- we all live just for this kind of bother-it's why we're here :wink2:
Anyway, how else am I going to steal your ideas and taste?
*tsks*
Honestly.

Exciting update.

My band is ready! It’s hand forged, gloriously ethereal and the milgrain looks perfect.

I should get it Thursday!

Gorgeous! I love the soft colors and the workmanship is divine!

Gosh I love this band! Can’t wait to see the reset!

Thank you so much @RunningwithScissors and @Mreader ! I can’t wait to see it. Agree that the workmanship looks impeccable.

I actually may go with Inken for the reset…might be easier to just work with one vendor and we’ve gotten along well so far.

That. Looks. Amazing.

The workmanship looks picture perfect. And the layout of the colours is... She captured "ethereal", didn't she? Such a unique and personal piece. I can't wait to hear what you think of it IRL!!

Love the latest design modifications and your inspirations, especially the flower one!
Love love love the unicorn band :kiss2:

Re Inken, I have never worked with her, but have you seen that other thread?

Aww thank you @yssie

I’m in awe of it! It’s exactly what I had in mind (maybe better?) I’m so excited to share updates.

The layout and palette seems perfectly imperfect. In my gut I was hoping it leaned pink/purple/teal and that appears to be exactly what I got. It’s like she read my mind!

Thank you so much! I can’t wait to finally get it started…

And yes, I did see it. I knew that returns wouldn’t be possible. I feel badly that their interaction didn’t go very well and that the item didn’t meet expectations both aesthetically and with returns.

I’ve had a really good rapport with Inken so far and we’ve had a number of exchanges, but I appreciate the heads up…it’s food for thought.

I love the tri-wire design inspirations!

I vote for prongs as an opportunity to integrate the petal/ leaf motif more fully. Also, diamonds just seem to perform better in prongs.

I love the way prongs play up the petal motif…I think you are right about that.

But you know what’s funny, (and it surprised me) I’ve seen my diamond in unset in a ring holder (mimicking prongs), in a semi bezel, and a full bezel…and she LOVES being bezeled!

I mentioned it in a thread somewhere…but her pattern had a sharper contrast in a bezel and the pastel flashes seemed more….prominent?

However, out of a bezel, there’s more edge to edge brightness. I guess it depends on individual preference and I don’t think it’s the same for all OECs, I’ve seen some dramatically suffer from bezels..

Re the petal motif, check out this ring. It's neither prongs nor bezel, but very romantic

so pretty. it's like...scallops? thanks for sharing. i love it!

i wonder if the petals could just be shaped to have scalloped edges...hmmmm. its a lovely idea actually

oh wow you know what it reminds me of to combine those elements...

this setting from mc2! and I've always loved it. i was so sad when I realized they were out of business, but they would've been well over budget anyways...

Whoa. That MC2 is very close to what I would do if I had the funds.

I thought they were still available thru Tim McClelland?
is there a big lotto drawing coming up - buy a ticket?
:)

So…the band is here

it’s exquisite. The workmanship far exceeds anything else I own. It has the tiniest, most perfect milgrain I’ve ever seen…and the prongs, it’s unbelievable.

I am sold on hand forged!!!!

my current set is far too bulky to wear with it. This is making me realize I may want to go for an overall more delicate look so I can wear all 3 rings together…

without further ado…

I bought a bunch of cheap tester rings to gauge thickness im after for my reset and to slim down my wedding band

Current set
Chunky monkey- not in a good way

rough idea - 2mm wedding band, and bezel with ~2mm shank (this one is 1.5mm so super skinny, it’s just to give a visual)

My gosh, I adore that sapphire band, it’s the most feminine, romantic, dreamy piece of jewelry I’ve ever seen. LOVE!

I feel bad admitting that it might be my favorite piece in my collection, even over my beautiful diamond!

Would yoooooou- put your sleepy sapphires near your new band? I really need to see it with those unicorn stones!
*please :twirl: so rude, I am!

Not at all - I immediately thought of them together! I did sell one of them - the orange/pink one I had was stunning but just didn’t suit me as well.

but don’t worry, the lavender one will have to be pried from my cold, dead hands!

Ooh, that milgrain is TINY! I love it.
