Yep, made the shades.

Took a little fiddling to get a pattern made that would fit my wine glasses, but once I had that it was easy. Trace the pattern onto the vellum, cut out, use the edge punch (on the one w/ the vines), and glue the edges together. I'm wondering if our venue would let us use their wine glasses for these. No harm done - fake candle inside and a paper shade sitting on top. That's assuming they have enough extras for us to borrow 30 or so, but doesn't hurt to ask, right? I can get 2 shades out of each 12x12 sheet of vellum, so at max that's 40 cents a shade. We could also save by using our venue's fake candles, but I might be inclined to see if I can find any more realistic ones (theirs are REALLY orange).

Three of these per table sound about right?

I would definitely ask!! Oh yeah I think 3 would be enough it''d be pretty. 4 might be pushing it and 2 might be too few.
