Clear diamond cloudy in the sun, 41 pavillion 33.5 crown vs1 - why?

It is now.

I have just tried to check GIA 6282172982. It is not showing anything now.
https://www.gia.edu/report-check?reportno=6282172982
It worked for same diamond early.

I've just clicked on the link and the report does come up for me - there's a banner up at the top of the page that says report check intermittently unavailable so maybe that's what happened when you tried earlier?

Yes, it is working now. Thanks

I can rarely get report check to work at all for me these days, incredibly frustrating.

I tested it inside using different coloured items by holding it very close to the item and it would take on the color of the item (I.e pink rose). If you look at this video from GOG the stones go really blue around 25 seconds. I believe it is just a reflection of the sky.

I finally found a new mate for my lonely baby. I think the new guy is pretty dashing and he's got no "shady" thing going on even under a spotlight. :lol-2: The new stone (on the left on all photos) is a 0.71 VVS2 G and has only a pinpoint inclusion. I specifically avoided any cloud out of cautionary aversion. I gave up trying to find an exact proportions match and went with a 34.5/40.8 combo. I'm enjoying the differences in the light performance between the stones depending on angle and lighting environment. Thanks everyone for helping me sort out this dilemma.

Yeah! I’m happy for you!!

That's better, well done Blue, I'm delighted for you! Don't forget all the ear shots we'll be wanting once they're done!:wavey:

Awesome photos and lighting!

Wow! Those two match beautifully!! Great job. :lickout:

What about the first one? Did serg acquire it for his research?

Grrr.... I inquired about that diamond at least 4 times, two through phone, and they said they would get back to me but never heard a peep, and as far as I'm aware the diamond never got back on the market. I asked Serg to reach out to them, but I'm not sure if he had any success. My guess is that they probably sent it back to the supplier.

I found the new diamond elsewhere.

I bet you're right, it's a shame if Serg can't get hold of it though.

I'm coming in late on this thread but you could very well be having issues to do with graining. I've captured this effect before in HD.

Rhino - I saw several of your posts but I went nowhere when I tried to find the video online and here. Do you have a link to the media?

They're set!
Platinum martini setting with La Pousette larger platinum earring backs 6557220.
Ear shots are hard...
These look quite large on my ears IRL after set and they're firecrackers.
I wanted to stay below 1.5 tct because 1 tct seemed a bit small and 2 tct looked too gaudy IMO.

Apologies but to my knowledge I can't link you to my own videos as it would break forum rules.

Awesome Blue! Love the video too. Enjoy em!

Nice, which is the higher crowned diamond in the video?

Perfection!!

Do you mind elaborating on the differences in light performance between these two? Does it follow the stereotype that the 34.5 is slightly more fiery and less bright?

When I received the 34.5, I noticed the visual difference right away - It looked smaller and darker compared to the 34/41 because the 34 upper girdle facets draw more axis light in general. One moment I'd think one sparkles more, and then I turn them or move to another room, the other one starts sparkling more, but 34 looks brighter in general. I expected noticeable differences in the fire but it ends up that I really don't, because both sparkle so well depending on the variance of lighting and the view angle.

Here's another video of them indoors. The earlier video was under sunlight.
This time the 34.5 is on the right.

New one looks awesome

Thanks, useful to know, beautiful diamonds.
