Hi there
Just bought a 2.5 carat (9x7mm) oval Blue Sapphire ring - set in a pave diamond band. But now I think the stone is too big. My finger is approx size 5. My e-ring is approx 6mm so this is quite large. Too showy? Thanks! image.jpg

Not at all. 8) I think it has nice proportions and fits your hand length very well. It always takes a little while to get used to a new size in a stone!

A pretty sapphire deserves to be on show. ;)2 Size is strictly personal preference. If you like it and enjoy it, there's no reason to be concerned with the opinions of others whatsoever.

I mean, just look at this 25ct stone: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/setting-my-sapphire.269718/
The lucky owner wears it daily. If she can pull that off, you can wear yours as much as you want as well.

It looks very nice and well proportioned on your hand, and the color is beautiful. Not too much in any way that I can tell, but you are the person who needs to feel comfortable wearing it. Congratulations. It is beautiful!

Thanks all. I was concerned the ring would be showy but doesn’t sound like it’s overly showy or flashy. I am comfortable wearing it. Thanks for the nice comments.

It looks beautiful on your hand and what a lovely colour! Like others have said, will just take some getting used to, but I think it's fantastic on you. Wear with pride!

Goodness no! :kiss2: Your ring looks absolutely perfect on your hand, and the blue is stunning! So funny that you wrote this because I recently bought a 4 ct sapphire and I am thinking the same thing! We are our own worst enemies! Enjoy your beautiful ring!

When I first saw this thread title, I thought it was a joke. There's no such thing as too big when it comes to bling! Beautiful ring... enjoy!!

P.S. The Rockefeller Sapphire ring's stone is over 62ct., and I don't think anyone would see the size as a drawback. :))

Thanks! You’re right - if I saw your ring on your finger, I’d prob think - what a nice size ring .

I also think its perfectly sized
and what a lovelly colour
keep wearing it and you'll be used to the size in no time at all
just stop worrying and enjoy

Haha. I’m new to the site. TBH - I expected someone to tell me that the stone is too big for my finger and that it looked more like a cocktail ring than one that you would wear daily. But having been on the site the past couple of days, my gosh - such beautiful diamonds and gems! And such community among the members

Who said you can't wear a cocktail ring every day :lol-2:

Disclaimer - its quality would have to be up to everyday wear of course

No, especially because the setting is very minimalist. Now if you had a giant diamond halo, it might be. Wearing large gems is something many people have to get used to.

I must say Beyoncé is my hero in the “not afraid to bling it,” category, now that Liz is gone.

I think it's stunning. Not too showy at all. As long as it's comfortable to wear then I see no problem. Beautiful color too!
